November 20, 2020 5.0 I used many computer security companies but Webroot overall gave me and my friends our monies worth in virus protection alone. Almost everyone I suggested Webroot to bought & installed it, they were quite impressed at how much better their computers & other devices ran so much smoother. Pros The first initial scan found a virus that another security software couldn't detect. I also like how I and my friends could use this software on multiple devices for free. Cons The price escalating about ten dollars or more per year subscription but still a great value. The password protection needs to be more user-friendly. Switched from [Trellix Endpoint Security](https://www.capterra.com/p/151734/McAfee-Endpoint-Security/) Because at that time McAfee couldn't locate & destroy a virus on my desktop so I switched to Webroot & it was found very quickly and eliminated. Running a full system scan is also very fast. I like that it does not slow down my PC and the protection seems pretty good. It also has a good price as compared to some of the other protection software products. Cons I have had the software for some time and in a few of the earlier versions it did not protect as well against malware so I did have a bit of trouble. But in recent years it has been improved. It's easy to install and setup on a network. Cons If you run apps that are custom built this app can either block those from working all together or bring your system to a grinding halt. Having to go through the process to white list an app can be daunting. It's possible and support responds, but it's usually to request log files and then they request a reinstall. This is followed by alot of back and forth until it's escalated and they find the root cause of the issue. Review Source Lisa H. February 11, 2020 1.0 No business problems have been solved with this software, except that I made some money trying to get rid of it. Oh, I also gained material to write a long article (rant?) about it. Pros I guess it did remove some viruses and other malware, and my customer felt secure using it. I personally liked most the fact that I didn't have to work with it more! Oh, and their technical support was very nice, although they didn't help me much. Cons I actually had to reinstall Windows to get rid of it. It was set up by the previous IT person used by this small business, and nobody knew the password for it. We couldn't reach the old IT guy, and even after I figured out how to bypass the password, I couldn't get it completely off the computer. Speech Language Pathologist Health, Wellness and Fitness Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Lackluster mobile interface" November 9, 2021 3.0 I wanted to like Secure Anywhere, and it was nice to see the application made it easy to enter the activation code for when you've already purchased on another device so there was no room for messing that up, but I was hoping for options, details, customization, and it was more \*womp womp\*, but I will keep using the desktop protection. Pros Easy integration, simple user interface, and I appreciated that scan result and actions were "explained" in layman's terms so I knew what the app was doing and why. Cons The user interface is ugly and outdated and while the laptop version of webroot is feature rich and comprehensive, the mobile app literally only told me my location was turned off and one other thing. I'm not sure why there is such a drastic disconnect from desktop to mobile application, but I couldn't find anywhere to customize how it scanned my phone or when and I have no idea if it saved a log somewhere on my phone or not. Docencia Used the software for: 2+ years ### "It is a good alternative to keep our equipment and files safe from threats" July 11, 2018 5.0 In general terms I can assure that today I feel very safe with this antivirus installed on my computers. It is a great protector, very efficient that has saved me several times from malware and Trojans that have put my files at risk. Pros This program can be used in different platafmormas and its price is competitive with respect to other antivirus in the market. It is light and does not slow down my machine. You have the option to program scans and do it in the background. The program runs on different operating systems which is a very positive aspect. Its interface is simple Cons Sometimes it detects false positives when we try to download an application that is clean. That is usually uncomfortable because it takes time away. At first I was only planning to use the trial and then try another software that I was familiar with. However during that trial I had no issues with viruses or my computer slowing down. Pros We got this security software package when purchasing computers and support package from Best Buy/Geek Squad. The program runs in the background with minimal CPU usage and hasn't allowed any suspicious malware, viruses, etc. on the computers (as far as I can tell). It also has a web browser app that keeps you secure when browsing the internet on your phone. Cons There's not much reporting with this software. It doesn't slow down any of our computers, it does protect you, but it doesn't annoy you to death with prompts. One of the big issues I've had with antivirus software in the past is that it would constantly block something that was safe for me to do. I have NEVER had Webroot do that. The other solution was much more CPU intensive (in a virtualized enviroment this was noticable). Even with little tweaking, the performance of Webroot was at least similar, while the footprint is much smaller. Pros The software is easy to configure using a web interface. The software on the client takes up little resources. Compared to other vendors that need multiple servers to manage endpoints and do scanning offloading, this is much easier to operate - and the price is very friendly. Cons We had some issues with add-ons that got installed in browsers, which we do not want. We have other security solutions in place to scan internet traffic. We are working with Support to get these uninstalled, but it takes more time than we expected. Review Source Clifford L. M. You can cover up to 5 devices under one membership Pros Webroot is fairly priced in my opinion and not only that but you are allowed to have up to 5 devices per each membership. So you could cover your cell phone, labtop, desktop PC and whatever devices under the same membership. It runs smooth and it hardly ever slows up your PC or device while it is running, sometimes it will a little bit when you are scanning with it, but not slow enough to complain about unlike other antiviruses. Cons There are certain options it has that I have been trying to figure out and has been time consuming for example It took me forever to figure out and set up the password manager it offers, but it is something I really needed in my life. January 8, 2020 5.0 This will add a layer of protection to your computers at work, however it does not protect you against everything and common practices such as not opening suspicious attachments should still be maintained. Pros The software is not very intrusive and just runs in the background. The admin can easily manage all the instances of the software running on other computers. Cons There are some false positive detections at times and adding exclusions to the system is can be a tedious task at times. Pricing for licenses can add up over time, especially as a company grows. With Webroot, customers are no longer required to shut down their AV software to access internal website that do not have security certificates. Additionally, they arne't waiting 10 minutes for a computer to be ready at bootup while the software scans. This software scans in the background with no noticeable impact on performance. Pros I love the price of the software. It is easy for me to sell to my clients and easy to promise virtually no impact on their computers processing speed. For those system I have this installed, I have seen a dramatic reduction in malware. Cons It's hard to figure out what I like least about the software. Cons Since it is almost invisible, it's hard to know if it's actually catching anything. November 25, 2020 1.0 We have been in the Industry for a long time working successfully with 100's of vendors and I can't remember a time that I ever filed a bad review. I do not take this lightly. Our experience with Webroot has been one of the worst that I have ever experienced. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. You will get nothing but generic responses and reasons why they won't or can't help you. Their product is subpar at best. I would never recommend them and have had a terrible experience from consistently inaccurate bills that you have to follow up on multiple times to get them corrected to an absolutely terrible experience from their management team. I am sure they will respond to this review if given the chance with some generic response that they have tried to assist us and have been in contact with us. I can honestly say, they have done everything to NOT assist us, have been zero help and have offered no value whatsoever. Pros I would not be able to list any pros at this time.
