Pros Easy for users to scan their own PC. Sites that need attention stick out in the portal and are easy to access right away. Cons Webroot portal could be a little bit easier to navigate. We also have issues with Webroot installed on Macs and needing to uninstall and reinstall the software multiple times in order for it to properly report. This helps me build my review business because I'm not limited to where I can order my products to review. Pros What I like most about this software is, I can use it on up to 3 devices. It was very easy to download and configure, it did almost all of it for me. I like that it reads my computer and knows exactly what it needs. Another thing is, it doesn't bother me with every single little detail about what it's doing or did. It detects threats and destroys them. This anti virus keeps my computer clean, leaving me feeling safe. Cons There's no cons about this software for me. " September 8, 2017 5.0 Efficacy, ease of use (It's set and forget), web threat blocking is second to none. Centrally managed through a console and no definitions to download on the system making it the lightest in the world. Pros The product is the lightest in the industry and all management is done through a centralized web console. Efficacy is one of the highest in the industry as well. The Web Threat Shield and Webroot's cloud intelligence is very good at keeping you away from nasty internet sites that contain malware payloads. I chose not to install any other virus software, and picked up several viruses. Cons When I called for help, I was given the option of paying for a 'cleaning' (not sure those are the correct words) of my PC. Didn't seem fair since their software was supposed to keep the viruses away. Furthermore, it is very likely that Webroot did succeed in protecting your computer, however you probably received a pop-up telling you to call their scam number. As someone who has been hacked in the past it is good to know it works effectively. Pros Webroot works in the background to assure my computer is safe from threats so my business work is not compromised. You just install it and let it do it's job. Developer Human Resources Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Mixed Review" September 8, 2020 3.0 Overall, because of the system/apps/Chrome crashes, my overall experience with this was not good and unfortunately I had to uninstall it. Pros Webroot SecureAnywhere is a lightweight antivirus and anti-malware tool. Users are able to choose between full system scan, deep scan and quick scans. Cons I am not sure if any other user experienced this or not but my computer started to behave unresponsive recently because of this as Webroot was occupying more than 60% of the CPU. When this happens it always crashed my Chrome Browser with 'Page Unresponsive' error message and then my other apps stops working because of the No Internet. Not sure, how this is all related. Troubleshooted this my IT team and after uninstalling Webroot, things came back to normal. IT Director Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "very get what you pay for concept, cheap solution" May 9, 2018 2.0 Pros very easy to set up and set schedules. the installation process was quick and works well on older machines. very cheap option but you will have to constantly maintain false positive issues Cons constantly giving false positives ( as stated in pros) even after adding them to an ignore list. Uses way too many resources on Windows 10 machines ( maybe a win 10 issue?), don't seem to have this issue on older machines (win 7) however. I haven't had any issues since installing in on 10+ computers. Pros This program uses program uses different method/logic than other anti-virus software and so seems to catch more potential problems. It also is the FIRST I've ever had which doesn't seem to cripple the speed of my system - I notice no slowdown at all. Cons I'm not sure which setting does this and so I can't seem to undo it (other may like this): the recent files list for Office programs disappears every day, so it's harder to find files I've just worked on. Pros This is an updated review. Previous i was very happy with Webroot, as it had very good detection rate, was very fast, reliable and easy to use. Cons What has changed: 1. no 2FA. 2. they removed the command line function which was very useful, and i can see why they did it, but never the less, it is gone. 3. Pros Webroot was easy to use and deployed easily across all our clients. We only had to open a single support ticket and it was resolved quickly by Webroot support. Highly recommended for MSPs looking to protect their clients. Cons Advanced deployment methods are available but we found that there was some incompatibility with InTune automated deployment. The Single pane of glass for multi-tenant management is great. Integration with RMM and PSA is also excellent. Cons Feel the cost is slightly higher compared to the other vendors, but its definitely a better product, so you end up getting what you paid for. The Billing piece can use some better reporting. Management from the admin console is fantastic once you learn where everything is. Cons The only con is when webroot is bundled with another solution E.g. " July 25, 2018 4.0 Pros What I like the most about Webroot is it's light footprint and how it uses hardly any resources. You won't even notice when it scans. I also like that it doesn't use definitions in a classical sense, and rather it is cloud-based. Cons Webroot has had a reputation over the last year or so to create so big headaches with false positives, and negative interactions with certain programs. But overall I believe they are working hard to prevent further issues.
