Pros

Bill is a great software to keep track of bill payments, AR, AP, customer invoicing and payments, running reports and has great customer support.

Cons

Bill can be costly as it has many additional software's and features that work with it but all are worth the money, Bill is better for larger scale businesses.

We are mostly pleased with Bill AP&AR. On occasion I experience trouble escalating support issues to a timely resolution. There are a few missing features from approval policies I would like added.

Inability to merge original platform set up to unified platform. Process necessary to follow vendor virtual card payments.

### "Would only wish it for my worst enemies "

When I think of BILL, I think of hostile architecture. Surely there is thought behind the design and systems of BILL. Without a doubt, when it works, it works. I think that's great, and literally the minimum expectation. If you've had positive experiences with BILL, I am only jealous of you, and wish others the same. I am making my best professional neutral face as I type this. BILL is a nice looking fintech product with infinite headaches waiting for you. We are an accounting firm with clients, and for all clients we use both BILL AP/AR and Spend & Expense (formerly Divvy). Our "account manager" managed to create unique companies for each client's AP/AR and S&E accounts. We are paying double subscription fees for some clients. We do not understand how or why this happened, and the best way to fix it would be to work with our account manager to terminate some companies and setup everything again. There are minor issues that happen, and those can be quickly solved by BILL customer support. If you run into any issues above what's answerable by existing Help Articles, you are absolutely at the mercy of whoever is on the other line. For example, there was a BILL-side issue that prevented some features (multiple colleagues had the same issue on different computers). A few hours and escalated case later, after the "manager" told me to restart my computer, the same manager confirmed it was a BILL-side issue. On the other hand, there have been a few angels that have given me sage advice to navigate BILL's asinine platform. I sincerely, sincerely wish competitor products are easier to work with, because I am sure this is purgatory, if not, an actual part of office-hell. I have heard on BILL product webinars there are accounting firms with \*hundreds\* of clients, and I can't imagine that at all -- it takes me at least 30 seconds to log in, another 30 seconds or a minute to get to the right page. Or, make that 3 minutes because after I log in, BILL switches me back and forth between AP/AR and S&E and I have to click about 3-5 times to get to the right client to begin with. If you choose BILL, I sincerely wish you the best!

Pros

You can see the delivery status of paper checks sent out. This is not a feature offered by some competitors.

Cons

A lot of things. If you need customer support for any small or critical reasons, you are at the mercy of whom you're connected to. Expect to spend 10-20% of your work week with BILL support if you decide to use BILL.

Our experience has been wonderful. Transitioning our workflow from paper to electronic has been a true game changer for our leadership team!

Pros

Bill has been one of the best platforms added to our organization in the past decade. It links directly to our accounting system so all of our financial reporting is updated real-time for any invoices added to bill. Bank transactions have been significantly reduced making reconciliations a breeze. Additionally, the workflow enables all invoices to have the appropriate approvals for policy compliance and made tracking down check signers obsolete! Given the time savings alone the small price we pay for processing is a great value and is far less than the cost of time, check stock and postage. Vendors manage their own accounts, which is amazing in and of itself. The onboarding process for them is very simple and requires very little interaction to get them up and running. We have had to reach out to customer support a few times and our problems ended up being a minor bug or issue that was quickly resolved. Ten out of ten a great product.

Cons

Minor dislike - I just can't get used to the name transition from bill.com to bill. The other thing I do not love is that we renamed our dimensions in our accounting system and unfortunately that doesn't translate to bill. We have retrained ourselves so it is not a big issue, but on our wish list for modifications.

Overall this is a great tool that I would recommend to others in the nonprofit industry as a way to manage invoicing and paying bills with full transparency for multiple bill approvers.

Pros

Bill is easy to use and the functionality of including different people to review and approve bills is high. Cloud-based means that the work can get done securely from anywhere.

Cons

The sync to Quickbooks Online can sometimes make small mistakes that have to be caught and fixed. This is rare but time-consuming.

### "Hidden Fees & No Real Support — Not Worth Using"

Extremely disappointing. The vendor never received the money, we reported the issue right away, and support passed me between agents only to tell me a resolution would cost almost as much as the payment itself. A payment platform should protect businesses, not penalize them for system errors. We will not be using Bill.com again.

Pros

Honestly, nothing. We tried using the platform for a simple vendor payment, and even that turned into an unnecessary headache.

Cons

Terrible support policies. We sent a $125 payment to a vendor who appeared as fully set up on Bill.com. When the vendor said they don’t use Bill.com, we immediately requested a reversal. Bill.com wanted to charge a $90 fee to “attempt” a reversal with no guarantee we’d ever get our money back and said it could take 30–90 days. Being charged nearly the entire payment amount for their own system issue is unacceptable.

### "Terrible client experience "

I regret switching our companies over to Bill.com but we are stuck for a moment since it is so time consuming to switch to a new payment platform. I was promised that all the functions regarding invoicing that are available in QB would be available in Bill.com and literally none of them are available. You have to manually update every recurring invoice anytime you adjust our invoice template. You have to manually receive payments because Bill.com does not receive updates from QB. Bill.com reuses invoice numbers which causes lots of confusion and errors. You cannot bundle services in your invoice. I cannot fathom that a company that has offered this service for more than 5 years has not worked harder at making it a better experience for their clients. I'm grateful that we have not switched our Payables over.

Pros

Low payment processing fees. There are very little pros to using Bill.com and outside of the low payment processing fees, it is terrible.

Cons

BILL Accounts Receivable has the most basic, bare bone features available and it is very apparent that the customer service is outsourced. It creates a lot of additional manual work to upkeep and there is not a lot of helpful reporting. During chats, if your page refreshes (which it does often) or you navigate elsewhere, you have to start the chat all over again.

Pros

Overall, BILL was great when it came to payroll and keeping thing organized when getting paid for gigs.

Pros

BILL was a great tool for both accounting and bookeeping, as it is what I used for a while regarding payroll from an old company I was with. It was great value for money in that the learning curve wasn't too severe and there were basically 0 bugs or issues. Highly recommend!

Cons

I think the thing I liked least was the customer support wasn't that easy to reach. I had a small bug early in my time using it and had to wait quite a while before getting help.

I am extremely disappointed with Bill.com’s service. The process of verifying my account has been unnecessarily complex, frustrating, and riddled with delays. Despite submitting multiple identification documents (including my driver’s license, utility bill, and bank statement), they insisted on a selfie holding my ID—something I’ve never encountered even when opening bank accounts. This experience was reminiscent of dealing with a crypto scam company rather than a legitimate financial service provider. The delays in receiving my payment, the constant requests for more documentation, and the lack of transparency in their verification process left me with serious concerns about their credibility. Even after all my submissions, I was told that further delays would occur, taking several more business days. I’ve worked with major financial institutions, and they handle similar processes in a fraction of the time. Bill.com’s overly complex verification requirements and poor communication have severely impacted my trust in their service. Once I receive my payment, I will be canceling my account and ensuring my data is securely removed from their systems. I would not recommend Bill.com to anyone who values efficient, straightforward, and transparent financial service.

Nothing,.. The live agent was polite and tried to be helpful despite the frustrating verification process.

Cons

The verification process was overly complex, with constant requests for documentation and significant delays, making it extremely difficult to receive payments efficiently.

Bill.com makes expense tracking and submitting extremely easy. I like that it automatically will (sometimes correctly) recognize and categorize different budget categories. Both the desktop and mobile experience are great.

Cons

I understand security is the utmost importance when it comes to financial management software, but my desktop app seems to never remember my device (even though I tell it to) upon login and I'm always needing to send a code to my phone.

Overall, I have found that their customer service is good which is important when needed. Our other product, Xero, has ZERO customer service. If I had to decide between these two products mentioned here, I would definitely pick BILL.

Our company has this integrated with Xero and I do not feel they work well together without duplication.

\- We use BILL(Bill.com) for processing and payment of invoices and to manage vendors. - We are able to use Bill.com provide timely payments and managing vendors. - AI recognitions of invoices is useful- Easy to enter bills, track bills and apply payment to bills which are already paid.- Availability of reports.- Availability of payment methods like Check and E-payment for US vendors and Wire for international vendors.

Cons

\- Sometimes facing issues with connecting vendors to E-payment or Wire payment.- Tech support is only available by chat.- Sync errors should give more detail on what's causing the issue- There are no issues apart from above, if i encounter any issues in future i can edit this review.

### "Bill.com (BDC) is ready to help with Accounts Payable, but..."

I am just 2 months in on bill.com (BDC). It has taken this 2 months just to analyze our existing data and move what we want (import) to BDC from our existing programs. We want to synchronize expense work from data entry into BDC to moving the detail over to QuickBooks (QB) where we keep our accounting data. It is not as easy as it sounds.

Pros

Bill.com (BDC) is a full-featured software program that will simplify recording vendors and paying bills but... BDC is not as simple as it appears. We are excited to learn all that BDC has to teach us. See Cons....

Cons

To fully engage all the features of bill.com (BDC) one has to be ready to do the prerequisite work in cleaning up a company's existing records. We are using the BDC support team and our own accountant to gradually restructure our accounts payable-expense side of operating as a nonprofit organization. This has been laborious and frustrating at times. A major drawback is encouraging existing vendors to accept payment from BDC. Generally, people are guilty of 1. ignoring emails; 2. misreading emails; 3. not following clear directions.

Reason for choosing BILL Accounts Payable & Receivable

Bill.com (BDC) is the program suggested and approved by our accounting firm. We are a 24-year-old animal welfare nonprofit and we plan to be serving the same animals 50 years from now that we are serving now. That means we must plan ahead to provide meaningful and reliable data on the way we operating now to our successors. That can only be done with investment of time and money now to serve the future.

As a administrator of Bill.com within my organization, I have found it to be an efficient and streamlined way to manage our financial processes. One of the greatest advantages of this software is the automation of tasks such as invoice processing, bill payments and account reconciliation. This has saved a significant amount of time and effort for our finance team and has improved our financial accuracy. Another strong aspect of Bill.com is the robustness of its reporting capabilities. It provides a wide range of financial metrics and insights that have helped us make data-driven decisions for our business. Additionally, the integration with popular accounting software such as QuickBooks and Xero makes it easy to keep our financial records up-to-date and in sync.

Cons

A potential downside of using Bill.com is that it may require a bit of time and effort to set up the software and customize it to fit our specific needs. Works great and seamlessly MOST of the the time. Helps to manage accounting and bill payments and seems to be a great time saver that streamlines processes. I enjoy getting paid faster and love having a process I can track along the way.

Pros

My experience with Bill is as an end-user only. I like the ability to create invoices for clients that utilize them for bill payment/accounting. Entering invoices is a simple process and I like that you are able to view and track your payment requests once submitted. The ability to filter invoices is also easy and you don’t have to learn more than you need to depending on which service/feature you use. I don’t use to process payments but as an accounts receivable option, it works great for me and allows me to get paid even faster. The processing fees are reasonable and expedited payments processing is an option that is also reasonable.

Cons

While my experience is limited as an end-user, there have been a few times where my payment requests were not received or were duplicated. Not numerous but when it comes to payment, having it delayed for another reason is longer than most would want. The companies I know that utilize the full suite of offerings seem to be pleased and have used it long term with success.

### "Getting help is painful "

It's not great. We use bill.com to invoice our customers. 60% of our client base has complained about the experience with bill.com because setting up accounts is not intuitive, and clients often times have set up different kinds of accounts by accident then feel harassed by reminder emails which state they haven't paid an invoice, even though they are marked as "paid" on our end. We paid a hefty API integration fee in an effort to host all of these invoices in our own system so that our customers wouldn't have to interact with bill.com. However, now we are facing a whole new set of challenges trying to gather information from bill.com that isn't exposed, but is integral in making the integration successful... then trigger days and days of frustration with support to get about 60% of the information that we need.

Cons

Trying to work with support actually ruins my day. The only way you can talk to a human on the phone is by scheduling a phone call. Every time I have done that we've had issues connecting and there's no number you can call. I also feel like every time I reach out to support via chat or email I get a completely different level of information and service. Sometimes they give you what you need right away, other times they say they can't provide you with that information you need to jump through additional XYZ hoops.
