Our firm's client users have seen the benefits of saying goodbye to their former process of paper shuffling, searching for invoice approvals, lost or duplicate-paid invoices, and the tedious task of processing, check signing, stuffing and mailing paper bills and checks. This system empowers the users with collaboration, accessibility, ease of use and efficiency. Our firm's been using it for over 3 years. Pros Collaborative platform for users--from the clerk to the owner. Administrator can custom-tailor users' access rights. Approval chains available if needed. Auto sync with accounting system (we use both hosted and online). User-friendly interface. Cons Sync with accounting program usually seamless and trouble-free---but when it does rarely happen, the diagnostic messages are sometimes vague on how to correct it. Wish voiding checks was not so tedious. It's made our accounts payable process more automated and much easier to manage. Pros \- Ease of entering bills --> approvals --> payments process- Easy to pay out once info is entered for vendors Cons \- The receiving inbox is difficult to navigate. I enjoy being able to travel, be on the road and have access to my bills. Bill payment process is very easy and customer support very easy Pros All bills for the year in one place. I use the app a lot. I am able to approve bills for my business from anywhere. Cons Being able to put some bills to not be viewed until they are needed to be paid versus popping up each month on the top of the bills. Pros I like the feature of dragging invoices to the desk top, just letting them load and autofilling your information to make sure your bills are paid in a timely manner. They also have really great customer support that care about helping you get the information you need. Cons There is a feature of auto adding bills, which is ok but slow compared to a person entering it. Also sometimes when it syncs with other softwhere it get duplicate messages, so again a person will have to manually correct it. This is pretty rare though. Pros I love bill.com because everything is now done online and it’s easier for our employees and accounting office alike. All employees have to do is send an email with the invoice and we are done. No more paper and no more confusion! Cons The only thing I don’t like about this product is there is no confirmation email feature. I like being able to turn on notifications in my email as well. Pros I like the alerts of when payments are sent and received. I like being able to see notifications in my email and on their website as well. Cons I don't have any major complaints. I like the alerts and knowing when payments are coming in. Cons I have been trying to set up to receive payments. I verified my bank account. (It asked me for a second phone number to send a verification code. I am a sole proprietor no second phone, what genius thought of this!) I have not been able to set a default bank account to get paid. When I go to support is is like reading the encyclopedia Britannica, TERRIBLE. In one instance it tells me to go to Overview an click on Finish Bank Account Set Up. That is nowhere to be found. This is a terrible I would not recommend it to any of my clients. Cons Adding and managing existing vendors isn't the easiest, and it can be hard to confirm whether the "suggested matches" for vendors are actually the correct companies. Syncing regularly and automatically. - "Paying by check" through the online UI is an amazing step towards being a truly paperless organization even when working with old school suppliers! Cons \- The cost / value scale is right on the border. It seems that you're paying a lot for convenience and some very limited time savings which is always harder to justify than raw ROI. It is the best way to make sure that you never fall behind on your bills and always know who has paid you and who owes you money. I recommend this product to all of my bookkeeping clients. With bill.com, bills are paid on time, records are kept accurately and neatly for future viewing, and cashflow is easy to manage since you can schedule bill payments. Pros Our company was a very young company when I joined (a hardware startup) and did not have a system for paying bills and keeping receipts since we were starting from scratch. Bill.com was instrumental in creating a bill paying and invoice keeping system that was easy to set up, and covered all situations (i.e. paying foreign bills in different currencies, etc.). Cons Sometimes it is not obvious how to do the setup- but their customer support is very responsive, so you don't really have to get everything immediately. June 17, 2015 5.0 I often talk to companies about bill.com because of the simplicity of the system. Bill.com allows us to keep a paperless system and the integration with Intacct works wonderfully. This feature has recently been updated. Pros System is easy to use and the department is able to see all invoices and info right in the system as it is paperless. Cons No cons that I can think of. So far the system is wonderful and they seem to be working on improving it more and more. We used to find that they sync errors were a problem but with some additional knowledge we are able to resolve them quite easily. We've recently upgraded to Intacct Sync 2.0 and are always trying to improve it. For example, this month, we've added the ability to mark offline payments not to sync with Intacct. Intacct Sync 2.0 will handle all three dimensions on invoices - locations, classes, projects/jobs on invoices. Bill payments are automatically posted to quickbooks as paid. You can track the status of your payments easily. Cons When making partial payments, it does not allow you to schedule future payments on the same invoice. However, I brought this to the attention of bill.com support and they are looking into it. It really automates the process and saves time. Pros I like the fact that bill.com integrates with QuickBooks Online. I'm a QB ProAdvisor and often times have clients that need a solution to streamline their business processes. Fortunately, bill.com helps automate your business. Cons The pricing initial seems a bit expensive, however if you figure that bill.com could replace an employee or a portion of what an employee would do for you, it's a great value. Not having to write checks but can still pay bills using checks. Pros Integration with Quickbooks online and Xero. Pay bills either by check or ACH without having to write a bunch of checks. Cons When integrated with Xero it doesn't always sync right so you have to keep an eye and make sure everything syncs correctly.
