Pros

It integrates with GE, Grants Management software. It is relatively easy to change something on the backend. If you have RE/FE/GE, this is almost a must. You can also set up board/grantee and scholarship applicant logins as well, with relative ease.

Cons

It doesn't sync very well. There always seem to have some issue with the syncing across GE/RE/FE with the portal. Also, creating reports that are needed for the portal means going into SSRS and creating SQL reports from scratch. Also, the hosts hosting the cloud service have had some issues in the past.

I use GE Spectrum every too process grants and extract information to analyze the grant flow. GE had a lot of potential but some of the functions are clunky and stiff with not many options to customize. However, it is a great tool to help you organize and store information.

Pros

I like GE because of its' capacity to store a lot of information. It can give you everything you need in regards of information and report -creating and storing. Basic functions are easy to find and use.

Cons

GE Spectrum is not intuitive at all. It takes considerable time and effort to learn how to extract and process the data you need. Sometimes the program tends to slow down, especially when processing more complicated tasks.
