Director Management Consulting Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Straight forward VPN for a reasonable cost" October 11, 2025 4.0 Overall I recommend it. Cheap. Easy to use. Comes with validation evidence that it’ll do what it’s supposed to do. Can’t fault it other than speed deteriorating if connected to one server for long periods (days). Pros The ease at which it allows you to connect to a VPN to secure your connection is excellent. The cost is great, but it did take a long time to find the voucher code/subscription combo that gave the best (lowest) monthly cost. Once sorted though, there were no billing issues and the product just works out of the box. The interface is easy to use; just click to connect. I’ve never had to contact customer support, which is a positive as it confirms it’s intuitive design. Cons The speed deterioration of connections and VPN blocking by some sites/tools can become a frustration. You have to be constantly mindful that your using VPN, and therefore if an app or website responds unexpectedly, you have ti disconnect and do your work, then reconnect. I mostly use when travelling and connecting to secure sites back home. The connection is fast enough that I don't notice any buffering, and the "Threat Protection" is a nice little bonus because it actually stops those annoying pop-up ads while I'm browsing. Cons The app can feel a bit crowded with extra features I don't really use, and every now and then, I have to switch servers because a banking site or Gmail gets suspicious of the VPN. Decent speeds, although about a 10% loss on network speeds for the same country connections. Cons NordVPN's support is non existent, they do not properly resolve connection ticket with an acceptable time frame. Nordvpn meshnet does not work at all. been waiting months for a proper response and have given up hope on this. there is severely inadequate support for Linux/Debian based devices. Some servers regularly drop connection. Strange structured pricing, be careful not to be sucked in to their incomprehensible pricing structure. Pros NordVPN is an amazing and trustworthy VPN which can be bundled with a variety of other Nord Products seamlessly. This VPN is advertised widely and supported by a range of brilliant content producers on YouTube, who vouch for its usefulness when travelling abroad or on public wifi. I too enjoy how secure it makes you feel when surfing the web or entering password information. Cons The free trial is very useful but it should be made clearer that it is for the yearly subscription. Being someone who live abroad, being able to use a relaible VPN to connect to certain thinga back home makes all the difference. Plus, the added security is always a good thing. Cons The app can misbehave at times on older computers; this includes getting locked in loops and lagging. However, these instances are few and far between. Cons Some servers can be a bit slow at times, and switching between them may take a little longer, but overall the app works smoothly and securely, so it’s not a big concern. There are many locations, fast connections and easy to install and use app. Pros I moved to NordVPN after I tried it as a trial and saw how fast are the connection when used. There are many locations to choose from and all are very fast when browsing. I can use the on every device as is available for PC and smartphones as well. Also, I found Dark Web Monitor feature very helpful in keeping my passwords secure and away from hackers. Cons The limit of 10 devices is not the greatest but understandable. Since I have started using it, I have way fewer security incidents with malware and a lot less spam! Cons Occasionally, when traveling, I have to restart my system to get it working on public wifi. This is not purely a NordVPN issue though, most VPN software would experience similar issues with browser based authentication for public systems. Pros Ease of use, originally it was $99 for two year but they slowly eroded that away, charging $169 per year. Cons Loyal customer for 5 years and randomly went from charging $99/year to $169. I sometimes use just the browser extension, witch is an excellent addition, to browse safely on the web when I use other than my main device. Another thing to mention is that is available for all devices, PCs and smartphone. Cons There is nothing to dislike, everything work great.
