However, in order to make scalable web applications, real web (html, css, javascript) technology is required. Being so spoiled with low-code technology, I was looking for something similar for developing front end web portals with data from my FileMaker backed data sources. In my long search for a ‘Rapid Web App Development Tool’ I finally ended up with AppDrag. In AppDrag, the functionality is clearly broken down into different functional modules. Page builder is their user-friendly WYSIWYG web page builder and editor. Other modules are Blog, Shop, Newsletter and last but no least; CloudBackend. This is where you create and manage your databases API functions. Build-in are blazing fast SQL databases and there is a library that makes connecting to FileMaker’s data api a piece of cake. Finally, the real power of AppDrag lies in the smart combination of their modules. Like any new tool, it takes some time to get the feeling, but once you get to know AppDrag better you’ll appreciate the brilliance of its concept. You can also hire their expertise on an hourly basis to help you get started. Charging for this one on one support helps them maintain competitive pricing. Support is mainly through their community and it rarely happens that you do not have an answer within 24 hours. If you want to develop web applications fast, then AppDrag may just be the right tool for you. Cons There's still some room for improvement to make in even more low-code. You must have some technical prowess to take advantage of their platform. Not for beginners. Pros Incredible features for a website builder. Built on Bootstrap, super clean HTML. Super fast Hosting. World Class technology. E-commerce capabilities, blogging and newsletter functions. And!!!! A cloud Back-end!! Cons Connecting my domain using my own DNS server was rather cumbersome. You can buy domains from Appdrag, and that would be a much easier approach, albeit not the cheapest. SUPPORT: Virtually nil, I have yet to be able to communicate with anyone from their team even though Im a huge supporter of the AppDrag platform. Training videos move at blazing speeds.
