I recommend it to anyone looking for a working and simple solution. Pros It tooks a long time for me, before I found this diagramming tool. The biggest advantage is quick creation, import, predefined templates, export, etc. The tool has easy-to-use UI, which is useful for beginners. I also use it for creating sequence and communication diagrams. Pros The thing I like the most about draw.io is the fact that it is super-easy to use. The interface is simple and intuitive and the layout is very clear and straightforward. There is no need for reading documentation or learning numerous keyboard shortcuts - everything is easy and simple. One can create diagrams from templates or start from scratch, either way draw.io is great for both prototyping and design. It can be integrated with Dropbox/Google Drive (and the diagrams can be directly saved over there). Another thing I like about draw.io that the vector graphics inside can be scaled without the loss of quality. Cons The only con is that draw.io lacks the amount of tools and customization options when working on more elaborate diagrams. Other than that, it perfectly suits my needs. Review Source Ozan O. It is very easy to draw diagrams with predefined diagram components. Additionally, we are using it collaboratively online when editing documents. Pros draw.io includes all kinds of diagram drawing options from business to software. The best part of draw.io is working directly in Google Drive. It is very easy to add new drawing documentation in Drive just clicking add a new document. Additionally, it includes nearly all kinds of drawing options and templates. You can also share documents with other contributors and they can easily update the documents. It is very useful for project managers like me. Cons Draw.io asks for permission for Google Drive every time a document opened again. It should be annoying if you continuously close and open a draw.io diagram. Review Source AB Adiraju B. Do you want to do it offline, well, you can do it. The compatibility difference between the browser version and the stand alone version is very minimal and the lag is almost not noticeable on an enterprise level network. It has all the required tools to create a design that is industry level. Although it doesn't have all the cross platform compatibility of Visio, it does what it does in a very minimal footprint without the hefty price tag that visio carries. It is small, fast and effective. And almost no learning curve, if you have used visio at least once in your life to create a presentation. Cons Not many cons for a day to day design of a minimally interactive presentation. Less powerful than the alternatives in terms of plugins or cross platform compatibility. Pros This webapp is wonderful, it does not need download, it loads very fast, it allows me to export and import content directly to my drive in the cloud, as well as to my computer or device, it also allows the use of different formats and includes a great variety of maps, diagrams and many templates, quite customizable, is a highly recommended tool for daily use, since it can be used from any device at any time online and offline. Cons The least I like is that the interface is a bit full of many things, has many menus, and is somewhat complex when handling very small structures, it is easy to get lost among so many menus and options, it is easy to use but something more difficult to mastering. I also need to review and update frequently, having the ability to open the diagram editor from Confluence page without having to update and re-export helps a lot. However, I find drawing large diagrams can be time-consuming because there is no keyboard shortcut. I would recommend Pros \- Have nice integration with Confluence, you can embed and the diagram. No need to maintain a copy of the source file outside the confluence page. - Diagrams has a rich library of assets and sprites. - Complex diagrams sometimes can take a long time to load on Confluence. Cons \- No keyboard shortcut. - No auto-arrangement: I draw complex diagrams sometimes, I usually have to re-arrange all the elements properly before publishing. It has all the diagrams and shapes that I needed and I can connect them very neatly. Scrolling and zooming in and out of the diagrams is very seamless and everything feels natural. I used this app to draw software diagram and the arrows are just automatically aligned and positioned! It has so many functions: sketching website layout, Gantt charts, etc. The template library is really enormous and helpful. The elements of a drawing (like circles, rectangles, ...) are also well-aligned in integer coordinates, creating little satisfaction in the drawing job. Cons Positioning a shape or a group of shapes can be a little painful. When I want two different-size rectangle to be centered position (which means the rectangle centers are vertically aligned), I have to do a little calculations before I could input the coordinates because the coordinates are always the left-top point. That's inconvenient. Draw.io should have nine reference points for each shape (or group of shapes) and setting the coordinates for any of these point will move the shape accordingly. It should be like in Adobe Illustrator. If that's completed, this software will be on another level of perfection. Review Source Prabhat M.
