And we can take the link and embed what we created in some other application. And also we can save the output in many different formats and if we save the xml we can reuse and add more items to the same design Cons Sometimes it does not let us customize the graph according to our need or it does not allow us to use externally imported tools as well. Pros This allows me to make diagrams really fast and easy. Learning the system was tedius and things seemed to snap randomly and act strangely, but now after having used it some time everything is much easier and I can't understand why it was so hard. Cons Everyone I've shown it to seems to struggle to use it effectively without getting frustrated. Maybe a tips and tricks learning pop up thing could appear if the program could be able to detect when a user is struggling with a certain activity, such as alligning two rectangles (in this case one sometimes has to zoom to get the right "tick"). Pros The best thing is that it is free, unlike other diagramming tools that offer limited diagrams in its free versions. draw.io can be integrated with Google Drive so you don't have to worry about backing up files, if connected to Google drive, it enables real-time collaboration. This software gives you the ability to load any template of their own or even upload your own template using a url. You can also find many guidelines and manuals as to how you can use the software, though it does not seem that necessary as the software is really easy to use if you know how to create in general a diagram. Cons I don't have any dislikes regarding this software. I can honestly say that whenever I needed to create any diagram or flowchart, this is my go to. I can save, recover and open what I was previously editing or creating and it is online, no need for unnecessary downloads, therefore you can access your diagram at any time, from anywhere. Enables abstract views that can hide detail. Also allows floating connections Cons The thing I least like about this software is its inability to easily or programmatically export data from tables. I also find that it is not easy to programmatically make changes to diagrams created inside diagrams.net. For instance, if you create a shape and give it properties, you should be able to extract those properties into a table and then further into excel. At present, the software doesn't allow for this. It's great for drawing basic charts. but if you're planning on using this many times a day , I suggest using a paid tool as the features a kinda limited Pros I've used this online tool for several occasions for creating UML diagrams and and some other flowcharts. From the start it's very easy for anyone to use it. You can save your chart or diagram in the google drive , onedrive or even to your local hard drive. there's no login you just go there and start drawing. Simplest of the simple UIs I've ever seen. Plus it's free to use. And this tool offers a whole variety of charts and diagrams that are categorized based on the type of work such as engineering, maps related and so on. And you can save the chart in different formats such as PDF , JPG etc. Cons Adjusting shapes and re positioning is a bit of a mess. Sometimes, you want to create a vertical or horizontal line, and you have to make it a lot of times until you get it! Cons Whilst I like that draw.io is a fully web interface and unhindered by the need to signup, i do sometimes have a number of revisions stored locally which can get confusing. Pros What I liked most about Draw.io is the ability for complete customizability for everything. If you have a diagram you need to create there is a tool here for it. If by some chance there is not you can import your own and get the full suite of tools that Draw.io provides. The export ability also gives you free range to take your creation anywhere you want and in any form you need it. Cons The thing I would say I liked least about Draw.io is the thin documentation that exists. There is a large amount of things you can do with the product and customizability for it that would be greatly supported with more documentation. If we didn't have Visio already supplied, this would be the program I would use primarily. Pros Draw.io is a surprisingly good diagram creator, that's free. It works very much like Visio and helps create great looking diagrams. The web element makes it very easy to share and view files with colleagues. The fact that you can open visio diagrams and edit, is also very helpful. Cons Though there is an offline version it tends to rely on a web connection which can sometimes be a problem. It has a lot of features but it lacks a little when compared to Visio. It can take a little while to learn your way around the software. You can't complain however due to it being free. Pros Drawio est gratuit, et ne nécessite aucun compte. Il est possible de l'héberger sur ses propres serveurs, car il est open-source. Il dispose de toutes les fonctionnalités auxquelles on pourrait avoir besoin, ce qui fait de lui un outil qui est comparable à un même outil payant. Cons L'interface est le seul défaut de drawio. Celle-ci peut être un peu compliquée pour les nouveaux arrivés, et est un peu moche (cependant, il est possible de la changer pour une plus jolie et "légère"). The Software lacks enterprise capabilities similar to one's found with Sparks EA, Visual Paradim etc, but it is understood to be just a generic tool, and not meant specifically for Enterprise Architecture.
