March 31, 2021 5.0 It is a great platform for hosting webinars. You can have live streaming, on-demand webinars, and many others. The functionality is great, you can customize your page, sell tickets, send out automated emails. Mailchimp integration is also really helpful. Pros The software is really easy to use, the best thing is that you can customize everything from landing page to registration emails, which a lot of other platforms lack. Cons BigMarker is a bit pricey compared to similar products. Other than that I haven't used it long enough to discover any issues. If you're looking for an alternative to WebEx or Adobe Connect to produce webinars for education, as well as to monetize them, you cannot go wrong with BigMarker. Pros I love that BigMarker is browser based and loaded with features. Former is convenient for my clients and accessibility and the latter allows me to deploy webinars in ways that you simply cannot with the big players like WebEx and Adobe (and I've administered both for several years). One feature I enjoy is that each webinar you create has a landing page built just for it, making marketing and registration a breeze for end users. Although I have yet to use the webinar series function, I plan to host online classes with this feature and ultimately ditch my online course provider. The team is constantly listening to its user base and adding new features regularly. Cons Being browser-based is both a benefit and downside. BigMarker relies on Chrome as its delivery engine and some users are not Chrome fans, plus you always need to keep Chrome updated for the best functioning of the platform. Audio and video quality is usually good with a wired, high-speed connection, but even then, you may occasionally experience latency issues -- even more so if you are using wireless. I have had to contact customer service twice and each time the problem was rectified within an hour even though it wasn't a major issue or time sensitive. Pros I use the evergreen feature frequently for public education. People are flocking to the webinar daily, which is boosting recognition of my company as an industry leader for that segment. Once we're up and running and webinars are rolling, I will again go into research and see what other solutions are out there unfortunately; we made the switch hoping this would be a permanent solution, but unless support picks up, I don't see how it can be. Pros Bigmarker has a ton of features and options to customize the webinar experience, from the design of the landing page, to emails, so SEO settings for each webinar. Cons The (lack of) support has left me frustrated and questioning if I made the right choice to switch from our previous webinar service provider, despite that they were lacking in features we were looking for. At least support was responsive, and they addressed the issues at hand, something Bigmarker is failing miserably in doing. Responses don't address the issue, as the support staff seemingly hasn't taken the time to read through the request, but instead send you an help article they hope will solve the issue. You can create a custom landing page with a video and some text, and then use their system to send out invites to your webinar. You can set up reminders, and you can even create a custom email that you can use to send out with the invites. I highly recommend this for anyone who has a product or service that they want to teach as part of an online course. It's a great way to get people to learn about your product and then take action. What I like most is the feature-rich online meeting space that allows me to create an online space instantly for online meetings, ad hoc presentations and ad hoc live webinars. They have a solid and attractive webinar platform to begin with, and they continue to push fast & hard on developing and launching new features and functionality. Live webinars, replay/evergreen webinars, recordings, meeting rooms, email drip sequences/reminders, polls and CTAs... BigMarker's platform gives you all of this and more. Cons Big Marker doesn't use all the screen real estate productively. Many platforms don't either, but some will enable you to share your screen or visuals full-screen and then overlay your webcam feed as a bubble in the corner, for example. Not here. You're going to have wasted space whether you are the only presenter or have a few others with you. This is not a deal-killer for most folks, but just something to keep in mind.
