Cheaper than Acrobat. Works seamlessly with WIN10... Nitro PDF can be set up as a 'printer' so you can simply choose the NitroPDF printer from Word, for example, and a PDF is made. Easy conversions back to Word docs, too, from PDFs using NitroPDF. Pros Allows easy PDF generation from other programs, plus allows you can convert back to Word, Excel, etc. from PDFs. Cons Nothing bad to say about Nitro.. cheaper than Acobat and it does what I need it to do without paying hundreds of dollars. Review Source Luis A. It's affordable to the pocket. Pros I really like the complete ways available to edit and convert PDF. There is no only a PDF printer it's possible to edit and modify the PDF itself. Also the price is comparately low to another PDF editor suites. Online you can find help to get some special things done. Cons To open or convert some really heavy PDF it can take a while. Pros It is easy to pick up without any training. It allows one to edit a PDF and still look professional. Cons Merging PDF's is a bit tricky and takes some practice. The default on mine is that new PDF's open in a new worksheet instead of a new page, making it difficult to compare PDF's against each other. There is no regular updates. Take it in consideration. Pros I like its flexibility to handle different types of files and its mini application NitroPdf which has been really helpful to me. Cons It only worked for a short while after purchasing at full price. I never received a sales invoice or order number to lodge with tech support. The OCR feature is great, I scan a lot of paper and Nitro help me to able to copy and paste without any issues Cons My computer is old and sometimes I feel that it takes time to load my PDFs with Nitro. But for ordinary users, it is difficult to use to edit PDF files. Pros One that I know besides Adobe is for working with PDF files. And the Nitro that I am currently using. Nothing special, but really helped me in simple PDF data processing (read PDF files, compress PDF files, convert PDF files, and others) Cons It's different when reading PDF files, compressing PDF files and converting PDF files which I'm comfortable using. Pros I liek the intuitive nature of this product. It makes the task so much easier when it woorks the way a user epxects it to work. Cons I find the export to Excel a little disappoining, but not really found anything better at this price point. All these features are put in very intuitive user interface, which tremendously helps casual users. Cons Nitro PDF sometime hangs and crashes while processing documents. This is rather unfortunate since the incidents will disrupt the workflow. We use Nitro to compile our bid documents when bidding on a new job. This means I need to convert Word documents, existing PDFs and photos into one easy file for our potential customer to view. Nitro makes this so easy! Pros The ability to convert documents from one type to a PDF is so easy! Also, to be able to combine multiple documents in to one seamless file is great! The features you needed to edit and compile PDF files were easy to find and didn't take too much clicking in side panels/menus. When my old company switched from Nitro to Adobe, we were pretty disappointed. It just didn't seem as seamless as Nitro! Cons They've probably fixed this by now but before we switched, editing actual text directly on the PDF could get glitchy (text would run together, spacing was altered, adding or removing space ruined the formatting, etc...) I highly recommend this tool. Pros Nitro is a great pdf software that I used a lot. It is a very light software that opens my files so quickly. I edit, convert and combine many documents together using this tool. The price is so nice compared to many other programs. As long as you're not using it in a remote Citrix-led environment, this is an excellent choice for all your PDF needs beyond reading them. But in the Citrix-led environment, stick with Adobe. Pros The installer takes up less space, install time is cut in half compared to Adobe and the program also takes up less space as well. Loads faster, functionality is virtually the same as Adobe. Cons The print to PDF function works well unless in a Citrix environment where Adobe modules are preloaded into the Citrix machine. Pros It works okay, much less expensive than Adobe Acrobat Cons Customer Service is horrible. I have had to re-activate my license at least three or four times in the one year that I have been using the product. I have NOT changed computers, but apparently, each time my laptop updates something (I have no clue what), my license deactivates. There is no one that I can reach out to at the company to let them know of my problem, no customer service availability. No phone, and no e-mail for feedback. Pros Nitro is easy to use for beginners as well as advanced users. Its menu bar is well organized and easy to navigate. I can do a good portion of my work even if I use the basic free version. I like highlighted forms features. The Pro version allows to manage anything in the document. It is my default PDF software. Cons Not much is missing! Adding a couple of more features to the basic version would make it more useful to beginners, such as increasing/reducing text size and extracting text and images.
