Nitro can do a few things that I'm unable to do and Adobe and visa versa. It has been very valuable for updating contracts, etc. Cons It can be difficult to line up typing with the line I want it on although they have made improvements over the years. Pros Nitro is very useful when editing PDFs. The software also allows you to convert files between PDF and word and makes combining PDFs easy. Nitro provided me with a work around to a problem, not necessarily a solution. It did get the job done and helped me more forward with other important tasks. Pros I would use Nitro to unlock secure PDFs by printing the locked PDF with Nitro. This was extremely helpful to me in my line of work. Without Nitro it was not possible to preform certain functions of my job. Cons I didn't use Nitro for anything other than unlocked secured PDFs. For what I needed it for it worked great. In our daily routines we usually come across pdf's that should be converted in excel or word docs. With Nitro you can do that easily, you can even correct the pdf as it is, to hide parts of it or to correct data. Pros Nitro is an excellent PDF reader, but where it really shines is in it's editing tools, I have used it to flip pages when they get messy or mostly to transform sections of a document either to word or excel which saves a lot of time when reusing a information that is on your PDF Cons Sometimes it's word conversion can get really messy if it has a signature or if there is some type of stamp in the document. Pros The licensing is much cheaper and far easier to deal with than Adobe. It is also more reliable than Adobe Acrobat, in the years of using this we never had any issues with installs going wrong or random error messages unlike Adobe Acrobat. Cons They are missing a few usefult features that Adobe Acrobat has such as automatically detecting where you want to put editable fields on a document. Cons It is not supported on Mac and I am a Mac user. Also PDF files formatted using Adobe new version may not open. OCR crashes on large documents. Loads large PDFs more slowly than Acrobat. Pros It was free. That's really about it. I can't think of anything else. Cons The software was easy enough to use, but the quality of the report that it produced was very very low. I used it on a few trial inspections and knew right away I couldn't present that low of quality to my clients.
