Pros: The possibilities in Blender are immense. You can do animation, physics simulations, and detailed renderings. And there is a user base that is extremely helpful to anyone who needs some guidance on how to use the software. There is also a huge amount of add-ons that can be easily installed to allow even further exploration into the world of Blender.

Cons: The only major drawback to blender is the ease of use. It is a fairly complex software and has many uses, but it hasn't been completely streamlined yet and can take lots of time to figure out.

Newbie with a learning curve.

Pros: Granted, I came into this with little to no knowledge about 3D rendering and design. It took me quite awhile to figure out how to do things. I would recommend this if you are tech savvy.

Cons: It was slow at times and once even crashed. Pricing was good. Customer service was decent but could easily be improved.

Overall: Good if you already know what to do.

Pros: That's why I love free software, because it offers programs as good as Blender at no cost, for initiatives like this it is worth giving a few dollars to maintain and improve their functions. To be free is offered endless options, if you are starting, and you do not have to pay privative software licenses, this is the best option you will find in the market. You have to dedicate time if you want to use all the benefits it offers, if your passion is to do animation, do not discard this program.

Cons: It can improve some aspects for the user. Until tutorials have, so I can not review negative aspects, it is amazing what can be done with this program.

Overall: It allows you to start in the world of animation without paying anything. Currently many options cost a lot of money, but Blender is offered by the free software community as a different window to do great things, do not hesitate to download it and start learning. It's a good school for animation.

Considering it's an open source: Excellent!

It occupies little space in the Hard Disk, besides it loads incredibly fast, once you know it it allows you to realize projects with short deadlines.

Cons: For people who are not familiar with other 3D design programs, it will be difficult to understand, and the learning curve will be long and complex

Pros: Where to begin? I used Blender for a long time learning to model and create animations for my videos and had a lot of fun doing it and I thought that was it. Then a few months ago a friend showed me how he uses Blender to edit videos. I really like that functionality where I can create a 3D intro and then put the video together all in the same program.

Cons: Blender is very difficult to master. I have been using it over 3 years, and it took me most of that time just to learn to do minor animations and rendering.

Overall: I use it for creating 3D intros to my videos mostly but this software is very powerful and can also be used as a video editor.

Pros: This software is packed with the same or similar features that a professional 3D modeling software that could cost a month has. The hotkeys make workflow fast and clicks minimal. There are also endless resources and tutorials available online by blender themselves or other people who have worked with it.

Cons: The UI can be improved because some parts look outdated or cluttered. The material nodes can also be improved when users have to connect the nodes. It can also be confusing for beginners because the program doesn't tell you what features do what unless you go to the manual.

Installs easily and has some good help videos/tutorials available on the Net.

Cons: I felt it rather tough to learn at first, but after watching some help videos things are starting to make more and more sense. This is not so much the softwares problem vs my learning curve for this kind of software.

Pros: Blender is comparible to some of the best paid softwares out there, for my uses which is mainly motion graphics and visual effects, I can't believe what it comes with in terms of tools.

Blender is definitely an industry standard, they used this free program for Captain America: Winter Solider so at least you know you're not just using some spit and glue program. It is a full fledged 3D modeling solution.

Cons: As with every program there is a learning curve and where some of the bigger company's with the expensive price tags can afford to invest in the best of the best UI improvements and plugins, Blender always felt less use friendly in some regards.

Overall: My main benefit was the ability to improve my 3D modeling skills without having to drop an entire paycheque into a program I may never use or may never earn anything from. It's a great way to get started as the cost is free.

Pros: Integrated 3D game engine, with a logical brick system. For more control programming in Python language is used.

Dynamic simulations for softbodies, particles and fluids.

Stackable modifiers, for the application of non-destructive transformation on meshes.

System of static particles to simulate hair and coats, to which new properties have been added among shaders options to achieve realistic textures.

Multiplatform, free and with a really small size of origin compared to other 3D packages, depending on the operating system in which it is executed.

Capacity for a wide variety of geometric primitives, including curves, polygonal meshes, voids, NURBS, metaballs.

Cons: It is limited to the number of processors of the computer, we would have to configure

You can do the same in many programs, there are many programs equal to blender, but this is a good option

Pros: There is so much to love about this FREE software where do I start? You can create 3D images, render, you can model, you can edit videos, there has never been a software that I have liked this much. I will be using this a lot more in my free time, and I am super excited to see where it leads me!

Cons: You gotta be awake for this to work right. If I could do this in my sleep it would be a 110% for me! Other than that there aren't many things that could be wrong with a free software that helps you create your imagination! Oh, well, you do need to know a small amount of coding, it helps, but hey, if you don't you can teach yourself!

Overall: I get to develop my ideas and imagination into something 3D and useable!

Pros: Blender is a glimpse of what creative people can do when they really care and work together. This software is free, which is amazing considering the incredible power it unleashes for the user. That is, by far, the greatest positive aspect of Blender. Using it involves no risk, no cost, and minimal commitment (no need to register a license).

Yet, despite being free, Blender is incredible. Blender is nearly as capable as any competing products, yet receives so many updates, and so frequently, that the race for feature parity moves along at a break neck speed. So, even if it is not as polished as Autodesk or Maxon software, it's always getting better.

It also cannot be understated how valuable the user community is. Any new feature, change, or patch that is issued has tons of forum posts, video tutorials, and feedback. If a new user has a question about anything, it is almost guaranteed that someone else has asked the same thing and made a guide.

In short, Blender is free, powerful, and has an awesome community.

Cons: The learning curve for Blender is pretty high, especially for those new to 3d modeling and animation. Because Blender is open source, it is not as slick or smooth as competing products, but that's only a problem if you have used other software.

It can also be difficult to achieve completely stable/balanced performance out of Blender without a pretty powerful computer. That said, this just comes with the territory. 3D animation is computationally taxing.

It's difficult to complain about free software that already does so much.

Multiplatform, free and with a really small size of origin compared to other 3D packages, the best.

It can be programmed in Python, a powerful language not so complex to understand.

Cons: Being a free software does not have a way to perceive income specialized developers in the areas in which it has weaknesses.

It is complicated to try to make the application use all the processors at the same time

Pros: It's free, it's feature rich and easy to use once you dedicate some time to get into it. It works perfectly in a game development asset pipeline for major engines like Unity and Unreal. The tiny team are dedicated to major feature and stability updates, while expensive competitors are bloating software.

Cons: The heavily adjustable UI can sometimes be annoying to restore if you accidentally use a hotkey and hide something you didn't intended to. There is no real official support as it's a free product, though the community is active and supportive.

Pros: It has several properties at the time of render adapting to the user and giving greater freedom when designing and producing material, plus it has the ability to work with game engines being one of the programs with the most properties. The best is very light at the time of installation and depending on the work you do is occupying the capabilities of the machine that is being used.

Cons: It is an excellent program and the progress that is taking is abysmal being one of the programs of my preference at the time of making animations in 3D.

Overall: It is an excellent program mainly because it is multiplatform as well as being free software, it is easy to use since it also has multilanguage being one of the fastest growing programs and gaining a very good reputation among its users and the world of animation.

Pros: First of all, it must be noted that Blender is a *free* and open-source 3D editing software. This makes it a must-have for anyone trying to create, edit, animate and / or render 3D models and scenes.

Each of the major components (modelling, animation, rendering) is full of basic and advanced features. Despite the software's complexity, its user interface does a great job at integrating its different aspects.

The built-in physically-based renderer (Cycles) comes with a powerful graph-based material model editor, which allows tweaking each object's appearance in great detail.

Scripting support in Python for all main features is a great bonus for power users.

Finally, the large community and swath of free online learning resources make it possible to approach this complex software, even as a total beginner.

Cons: The user interface, while very clean in appearance, is not very easy to grasp. Likewise, proficiency in this software requires mastering many keyboard shortcuts and modes. This drawback is alleviated by the quality of online tutorials available for free.

I believe Blender also includes a game engine, although it is likely best to rely on Blender for 3D authoring, and then export assets to specialized software such as Unity.

Pros: Great software, with a lot of features and functionality, let's you go beyond limits in model creation and of course it's free of use.

Cons: It's extremely complex and difficult to use, you will have to go over dozens of tutorials before you really start getting the hang of it. There is better softwares, but this ones offer all its functions and keeps the price at 0 so it's great.

Pros: This is a truly remarkable piece of software that will make you fall in love with computer graphics and 3D modeling. It is on par with commercial products and, if you learn to use it well, it will yield incredible results.

Cons: It is undoubtedly a very complex software to use and the user interface sometimes is not easy to deal with, but that's in the nature of this sort of platforms.

Pros: Blender is an open source project that gives you a set of 3D modeling and rendering tools and special effects as well. The interface is clear and intuitive, and I really recommend it for easy projects or beginners

Cons: Of course Blender won't be as complete as an expensive suite of 3D tools like Maya and 3D Studio Max, but since it's free I'd recommend it to everyone

Pros: Blender is multi platform. There is a native version for each of the main operating systems. Windows, Mac OS and Linux. It works excellent on all 3 platforms and you do not depend on the system. Very light. It is a feature that has been lost in the "monstrous" programs of today. Above all it has increased in the top 3d programs for Autodesk production. With a simple internet connection you have access to Blender before.
Blender is also digital sculpture. Blender despite its small size includes the ability of digital sculpture with comparable results to commercial packages such as Zbrush or Mudbox.

Cons: It does not use all computer processors by default. Sometimes you have problems with polygons with more than 4 sides. It does not have a source of income to hire specialized developers. You can do the same in many programs although this is the best known.

Overall: blender has many advanced features, such as modeling tools based on modifiers, powerful character animation tools, node-based material

Pros: I like the most that it has huge set of functionalities and features, and they are getting updated constantly, also what i like the most its that it has integration for exporting the models in a number of formats, because some of others apps that i used before for modelling they didn't.

Cons: I really don't like that i cant customise my workbench, i cant drag and drop where ever i want the tools i need, which is a thing that i most commonly use and utilise, other than that everything is spot on.

Use it for creative purposes with personal projects and school projects.

Pros: This software is free and open source, its functionalities are very organized and well made. It being free is amazing as all other software that has a similar functionality is very expensive.

Pros: The best thing about Blender is that there is no barrier to try. The program is 100% free and even open source.

Cons: For the character design portion of my degree, we were given a number of programs to preview and decide which we wanted to use. One of those was Blender, and I'm afraid that it chased me away. I didn't find the UI to be nearly as friendly as others, though the sculpting itself seemed well executed.

Even someone as bad as I am was able to make a decent-looking character.

Pros: I had no experience in any sort of modeling or animation, but Blender felt welcoming from the get-go. I have now familiarized myself with it, and have gotten pretty good, so I'd say that is a testament to how good the program is. Also, it's free to try out, so why not give it a go if you're wondering if it's worth it?

Cons: Most of the cons I could pick at should be taken in reference to the free nature of Blender. As I've grown my knowledge of design, I've noticed a lot of UI issues and functionality. For example, a program like Maya has so many integrated parts to work on each little feature, that the Jack-of-all-trades Blender doesn't measure up to.

Pros: It offers a huge variety of tools, in a easy and clean interface, and it's able to compete with software that cost a lot more than Blender (which is free, being an Open Source project). It might not be as complete as Maya or 3D Studio Max, but it can achieve astonishing results as well!

Cons: As I said above, it might not be as complete as other CG software are, so you might feel like you need an upgrade to more powerful (and expensive) products if you need to reach high levels.

Cons: No serious 3d production house uses Blender. None. So what you learn in Blender will only ever partially translate over to production quality software like Maya, which is what the majority of houses use.

Pros: Never in my life would I have imagined a piece of of software as powerful as Blender being offered for free. Given the breadth of its tool set, it's almost comedic that others in the beginner/intermediate stages of their education (or career) would even consider using a different 3D package.

From modeling, to rigging, to animation, to rendering (and much more), Blender is a one stop shop for nearly all of your 3D art/game development/visual effects needs.

Cons: After years of using other 3D packages, I can tell a slight difference in the user friendliness of certain tools, but this feedback pales in comparison to what is being offered and the accessibility of learning resources for their tools.

Pros: Blender is a great software solution that can be used for 3D modelling and animation in game development. It as a great video editing feature which I found myself using a lot. one of the bonus is that the solution is free and open source, and files can be exported to a variety of formats.

Cons: Hardly anything to complain about with Blender. One thing I can say, if your workstation specs are not up to standard, you may experience lagging using this software. Another thing of note I have heard others say, if you are engineering-inclined, the learning curve might be quite steep.

Overall: Editing videos and creating great 3D graphics.

Pros: It is FREE!! For persons new to 3D modelling it is really the most accessible tool to use and learn.
In addition to that, it has so many powerful features: object creation, refinement, manipulation, rendering and animation.

Cons: As a beginner to object modelling, Blender has a very steep learning curve. It took me some time to navigate through the software and to learn it. However, there were tutorials that helped me to overcome this barrier.

Overall: Blender is free, so the financial benefit from using this software was that I learned 3D modeling without paying any money for a commercial tool.
