### "I've been using Blender for over 5 years, and will continue to use them well into the future"

June 25, 2018

5.0

The fact that if one was going to buy off the shelf software to do the same things one can do with this one application, one would have to buy a multitude if different applications, all of which run anywhere.

Pros

Blender is an all-in-one 3D modeling application that, in spite that it is freeware, does everything and anything anyone needs to make from basic geometric shapes to intricate Hollywood style special effects. This software can do far more than what I know what to do with it. Though it is free and open source, it has an extremely large support infrastructure. I've used Blender to make photorealistic 3D models of our retail packaging for our clients. I find this to be more visually effective than just a plain photoshopped render. With a 3D model you can show the customer any angle they want top see their product from.

Cons

The one downside, is that it has so many features that I have yet to learn them all. Which in all fairness is no fault of the application.

### "Outil 3D gratuit et très puissant"

February 23, 2023

5.0

Pros

### "Blender is truly an all in one 3D Modeling Software"

July 5, 2020

5.0

Blender is a blessing to have. I've competed a mass of 3D models in Blender throughout the years, and I like how you can re-mesh the models right there in the software, without having to export to another software. You can also change the scale of the scene, so that way you can work in specific dimensions. Blender is one of the best. Thank you so very much for the excellent software Blender Foundation.

Pros

I love the versatility of Blender's features, you can paint, sculpt and animate 3D Meshes all in one package!

Cons

It could be a bit slow or crash on some systems. Also, I experience User Interface graphical errors on one of my computers.

### "Incredible Value"

November 27, 2018

4.0

Its an incredible tool made by awesome people. Keeps getting better every year.

Pros

It's a really powerful at polygonal modeling, incredible at rendering and animating, capable at texture painting and sculpting. Infinite customisability with add ons and scripts. The fact that you can get all of this for free is simply unbelievable. Also it is very light and can be used as a portable program, and is always being updated with new features.

Cons

The UI can be really scary for beginners, and there is a huge learning curve for each feature. Can crash in unfortunate times.

### "Amazing Tool with a Steep Learning Curve"

May 16, 2021

4.0

I gave myself a year to learn the tool and spend my spare time trying to master the functionality enough to produce something that was relevant but never got there. I also tried using a Wacom drawing pad but could never fully master the interface.

Pros

I loaded the tool on my Mac with no issues or challenges. Blender continued to provide valuable releases with a wide range of new functionality during my time of usage. I was always amazed at the kind and quality of CGI that could be produced with Blender.

Cons

Blender does come with a very steep learning curve that can be extremely frustrating and overwhelming for someone new to 3D design. I also struggled with the documentation's organization and level of detail. The interface was also a major challenge. It was not intuitive and had features that were buried deep in the various menus. Don't attempt to use the software with a mouse or touchpad.

### "Blender Review: a free 3D software"

June 1, 2021

4.0

Blender is just as professional and useful as its competitors, with the advantage of it being completely free and a community that will not disappoint.

Pros

Blender is a professional 3D software that can do anything that any other software can. It has countless features that really challenge you to become as creative as you can because you can produce practically anything you can imagine that can fit into a screen. The Blender community is massive, you can always find something you do not know about the software online. There are thousands of tutorials and tips on how to improve your 3D creations, from technical information to creative inspiration. Blender is completely free, and thus, compared to any other 3D software, it definitely gives you the best value for money.

Cons

The user interface will be overwhelming to a newcomer because there are a lot of features and factors that can be manipulated, but with the online community, even that can be overcome.

### "A comprehensive 3D modeling and animating software that is free and open source"

January 14, 2020

5.0

Blender is a great option to build 3D models and for animation. It is not just limited to 3d animation, you can also create 2D animation. It is free and opensource, so it is a great option if your budget is limited. Although free to use, it has no shortcomings regarding features, which is why Blender can be recommended without a doubt.

Pros

Blender is free, which is an amazing thing if you are tired of paying large fees and subscriptions for design work. You will not have to worry about the software being outdated since you will receive all updates for free as well. The new version (2.81) has a great user interface and is pretty easy to use. The UI can also be customized according to personal preference. You can use Blender for modelling, rigging and animation. Render times have also been reduced in the new version, and there was always the option to change settings according to preference and get lesser render times. Another great feature is the camera and object tracking.

Cons

The new version does not have access to some of the great third-party addons yet. They will be available soon, but if you relied on those, you may have to wait until they are ported over. Sometimes, finding tutorials is difficult, so it would be better if they provided good tutorials.

### "The Best FOSS Model Creation Suite"

August 22, 2019

5.0

Especially after the latest major update, I think Blender has a lot of potential to be great, and the developers of the software are doing everything to make it so. Unfortunately for me, it still seems pretty vital for one to have to relearn even the most minute skills to use this software, and a lot of us don't have time for this and will stick to what we know.

Pros

It's free and competes almost blow-for-blow with software that use expensive subscription-based models.

Cons

It's hard to learn, and even harder to master. I don't think I have the time of day to relearn everything when other software make it much easier.

### "A (somewhat) hidden and overlooked gem on professional digital production"

February 16, 2021

5.0

We needed a modelling tool for our entry level designers, but we didn't have any spare licenses on any other softwares for them. We chose to let them use Blender instead, and they probably achieved more than we could have done using more traditional software. Now we are all trying to make the switch to Blender mainly from Autodesk programs.

Pros

Blender has all the feature and capabilities of any thousand dollars, enterprise level softwares out there, and for FREE!!! Allowing the modelling, sculpting, the use of parametric plugins, UVing, animating and rendering, without having to switch to any other program.

Cons

With the amount of features that Blender has to offer, you can feel overwhelmed by the amount of options (and hidden options) that you are presented with. At the beginning you'll have to familiarize yourself with the UI concepts, with the shortcuts and the overall workflow of Blender, and that can be a really steep curve to learn for starters.

Switched from

[3ds Max](https://www.capterra.com/p/206897/3ds-Max/)

Didn't have the resources for more Autodesk Licenses, and we allowed the usage of Blender, having equally or even better results.

### "Blend Your Creativity"

October 3, 2019

5.0

Overall, Blender is a video specialists' dream. You have a whole world to create at your fingertips. Run with it!

Pros

Blender helps bring to life the animations that Adobe Premiere just can't compete with. In comparison, Premiere is shallow. Blender helps with 3D creations and makes it simple to understand via their easy to follow platform.

Cons

I don't like that Blender isn't all that affordable. I wish they'd have a pricing plan in place, but no luck there. If you only work in animation, though, this is worth it.

### "I love this app!!!!"

November 20, 2021

5.0

Well, my overall experience with this app was great.

Pros

The main feature i love about this software is that it is completely free. It is greatly packed with features that make it match up to the industry's leading softwares like Maya and Cinema4D.

Cons

It takes a while to get used to the User interface and it's still buggy and sometimes crashes.

### "Great software for new and experienced 3d animition creators."

December 11, 2018

4.0

Pros

When I first heard there was an open source 3d animation package, I didn't expect much, but when I found out it was not only cross platform (Windows, Mac, Linux) and very full featured...I was extremely surprised. I was even more pleasantly surprised when I started using it. It does everything, and competes with products that are regarded very highly. Modeling is easy to pickup, so is texturing, lighting, basic animating, etc. Great tool to have, no reason not to!

Cons

Getting started is a little cumbersome. If you are Mac user, you will want to purchase a proper 3 button mouse, as the Magic and Mighty Mouse work, but not well. Some quirks take getting used to, but that's just the initial "break-in" period.

### "An Open sourced software that evryone should try"

May 5, 2022

4.0

Pros

Being an open-source software there are developement and many plugins available that make work a lot easier and hazel free. Furthermore, the potential is something that can easily rank among the top software in the field.

Cons

However, one con getting handy with the options and all features takes a little time to adapt. One has to spend sometime exploring if he or she is just starting out with it. But like other software once people fully get used to the options and have known of the shortcuts things get a lot easier.

September 15, 2020

4.0

As I mentioned I like to use Blender. It's made my job super easy. Blender allows you to be versatile with your content. Now everything is so competitive so, you have to be smart to choose your tools.

Pros

I think blender is a great tool to create your own design for excellent content. For the beginner, this is the best software to use because they have a lot of features which are totally free. So, an inexperienced person can be creative with 3D designs and animation. I am using this software for the last few years and it made my job easy. Because bender is open-source software. The installation and set up is easy. I would say blender is a user-friendly tool and anyone can learn it by themselves. Blender makes video editing super easy.

Cons

I like to use this tool . But blender has a lot of function so, it can be critical for the begainers. It takes time to be an expert with is because it is a multi-purpose tool.

### "I honestly kind of love it "

May 12, 2022

I love it. I use it often. Once I got over the initial confusion (to be honest probably more a me issue than the software) I’ve come to depend on it when I want to make an impressive dynamic visualizer.

Pros

I love that it is an option for people that want to make motion graphics that don’t have the funds for expensive alternatives.

Cons

It’s not as intuitive as I feel it could be. Also taxing on even the most high end computers.

It is very easy to use (even for beginners). A very powerful computer is not necessary for anyone who wants to start using Blender.

Pros

Blender is so easy to make simple 3D models and to work integrated with the main game engines. The software does not take up much RAM memory, CPU and GPU.

Cons

The keyboard shortcuts. They serve to save time and to speed up the work, but I can not get used to them.

### "Best Free-to-Use and Open-Sourced tool to begin your 3D Rendering Journey"

May 25, 2022

5.0

The user interface is not that great, and could be daunting initially, but as we learn more about the tool, the UI does not really matter. We had been using Blender for some 3D art that we had to insert in a game, and truth be told, we were expecting us to take months to do that, but with Blender we were able to do it in a week.

Pros

Its open sourced and free to use! The application is also very powerful when used correctly and is one of the most commonly used 3D renderers used by top-notch artists for these particular reasons. The fact that Blender is open sourced, it has a variety of community built add-ons which can simplify ones experience of using Blender.

Cons

Blender has a bit of a steep learning curve to it. All 3D renderers are not that straight-forward to use, and Blender doesn't excel in that either. However, the documentation is really well written with plenty of tutorials available online, thanks to it being open-sourced.
