### "Gone has the ugly duckling!"

June 22, 2020

5.0

I switched to Blender from 3D Studio Max about 8 years ago. At that time I was working with clients that had been using Blender to produce their models & really wanted to give it a fair shot. Back then the UX was a lot more difficult to get used to but once I did I found it hard to switch back. The abilities of the cycles engine also impressed me a lot & I made it a permanent switch. Fast forward to today and Blender has massively been transformed. Whilst the likes of Autodesk Maya often get touted as being an industry standard Blender has often suffered a bad reputation for some of the work that has been produced by the more amateur users. I've always thought this was extremely unfair and a deeper search soon revealed to me the capabilities that Blender has always had. With no entry fee for starting with Blender there was always going to be a much larger pool of work produced in Blender that wouldn't be quite as impressive. I followed the 2.8 update from the early alphas and to release saw the momentum that was building behind it. This wasnt just a minor release, it was a massive milestone. For new users the interface is now much more friendly and offers a nice middle ground to those transferring skillsets from similar 3D Suites (3DS Max, Autodesk Maya, ZBrush), realtime rendering is a gamechanger & the community around Blender has only grown stronger with many top artists now using it for their work daily.

Pros

Extremely powerful 3D suite, perfect customization for viewport displays, excellent sculpting abilities, realtime rendering with eevee, massively improved interface, plenty of plugins.

Cons

I still feel that the rigging & animation options are a little limited without plugins. I would like to see an update focusing on this with further content from the developers on how best to use them. Little in this area is covered by the community.

### "Logiciel de 3D très complet"

March 26, 2021

5.0

### "Maya and 3DS users? Please read about an amazing 3D model/animate/print alternative"

March 21, 2019

5.0

Our initial interest with Blender was sparked by its price: free. Autodesk's fee structures are not too bad if you are a power user, but the cost of having software seats for employees while they are learning is really a pain... so we started exploring Blender. Pretty quickly we discovered that it offers what we needed from the Autodesk products and more. We have come to appreciate the drag-and-drop compatibility with the Unity game engine, and we use it extensively for 3D printing. I think it makes for an easier and quicker ROI to get employees started with Blender -- mostly to see which of them are able and interested in attacking the learning curve. The fact that Blender is free is no longer the primary attraction to us, but it certainly allows us to work with new employees and with contractors around the world who appreciate the same attributes.

Pros

Blender is an absolute Swiss Army knife for 3D modeling, animation, painting and video compositing/editing. It is free, and open source. After experience with Maya and 3DS -- which we admittedly liked very much -- we have moved to Blender exclusively because of its awesome selection of tools and add-ons. We use it for creating animations, 2D art, sculptures and 3D printed items.

Cons

About my 3-stars rating for ease of use: None of the 3D modeling and animation applications are easy to use if you do not have a background in those disciplines. I consider Blender to be 5-star ease of use... but on your first day with it, you will be confused. Fortunately, there are lots of tutorial videos on Youtube, and from Blender. Blender has a relatively regular update cycle, so you will always want to look for tutorials based on the version you are using.

### "For all your 3D Animations Needs, Plus its Free!"

May 17, 2020

5.0

For a professional free software for 3D designing that has all the features you can possibly need, Blender is the only option. No other product comes close.

Pros

Okay, so if you are into graphics design, you must have heard of Blender already. - Its completely free, open source. Who doesn't love that? - Its professionally made will all options that you can find in all other software. - The software is lighter than other similar offerings, so can be used on a wide range of machines. - There is a portable version that works perfectly. - Import and Export options are compatible with other 3D and 2D software. - High quality texture and materials support. - The Cycles engine was an upgrade and the Eevee engine is a god give gift. Its perfect,

Cons

\- It has a steep learning curve. It is difficult to learn for beginners. Cinema 4D and Maya were easier to learn. - The interface may get confuse as it has a lot of options. - The old Blender Engine is slow and inefficient. - The shortcut keys are very different than other software. Prepare to re learn and make mistakes. - The export options can be better. - GPU+CPU rendering has along way to go to become perfect.

### "It is my Go-To software to do any complex graphics and animation work. "

July 12, 2018

4.0

This is one of the core softwares that I use, being cost effective (that is, "Free") as well as powerful in a single package! Not only do I save a lot of money by sticking to this I also make significantly more without having to rely or specialized software just to get the job done. My workflow has also improved, and I'm able to quickly create prototypes, edits and complete works of art with a single tool.

Pros

I've used Blender for over 8 years now, and it has rarely failed me. Being the jack of all trades, it not only possesses quick modelling and animation tools, but it also has a powerful shader system as well as the ability to sculpt. It can even be enhanced to limitless degrees with add-ons, and recently there has even been the Armory3D Engine that can help create games with it. I also rarely find myself having to rely on any external video editor because Blender's internal VSE often gets the job done for me, even though it can take some time to know one's way around it. Plus, I'm in love with Blender's modular interface, allowing me to customize it depending on my situations as I see fit.

Cons

Sadly, despite the modularity of the interface, it can feel a bit cluttered and confusing to get around at times (an issue which will likely be fixed by the time version 2.8 comes around), and due to its unconventional way of handling things, it can be a little harder to learn. Also, because it's a jack of all trades, one may expect it to be a master of none, which can be plain to see while sculpting, being not as powerful as ZBrush nor as stable when handling heavy meshes. Its compositing, too, while a welcome addition to quickly customize one's render, can feel very unintuitive at times. There's also very limited and imprecise means to control image sequences as texture option which often bothers me, but the fact that it even has that feature to begin with is something I that makes me turn a blind eye to this last point.

Blender has been fun and rewarding to me. Despite the learning curve and occasional software bugs, I was able to create most of what I wanted.

Pros

I find Blender to be an exceptional 3D design software, and one of its most appealing aspects is that it's free and open-source. The diversity of features it offers, from modeling to rendering and physics simulations, provides me with immense creative possibilities. The ability to add Add-ons that introduce new features to Blender is another standout feature that enhances its functionality.Additionally, Blender is a goldmine when it comes to learning resources.

Cons

Blender has a bit of a learning curve, and I found the user interface a bit tricky when I first started using it. Occasionally, I've come across some bugs, and there have been instances where my PC froze while running Blender.

### "You can't Go wrong with Blender"

April 8, 2021

Over All Blender is a tool that is going to help you a lot with your work and with your money. The workflow is faster because it is Shortcuts depending, maybe hard to learn at first but the fruits of the work going to show very quickly.

Pros

You have a Full pack in one software from texturing and modelling to sculpting and post-production, everything is integrated in it plus you can have the full app in a USB where ever you go ! Have been using it for more than 6 years and today it is more powerful and modern, they even added a unique 2D in a 3D environment feature that is unique to blender.

Cons

This is a hard one I don't think there is something I don't like about it other than it is a bit hard to learn but it is hard to learn any type of 3D generally. and the app can crash from time to time but same could be said to any 3D Software.

### "East or West, Blender is the best!"

November 10, 2022

5.0

With the vision of founder \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\], he has made one of the absolutely best 3d Digital Content Creation tool accessible to any human wanting to start their journey offering at par if not better features than commercial tools costing in thousands of dollars.Blender has democratised creativity, removed barriers of entry.Blender is one of the best thing that has happened to the 3d DCC softwares industry.

Pros

A beautiful, powerful, ease to use and at the same time complicated with multiple layers of depths, Blender is a program that competes with the so called Industry Standards. It is a jack of all trades, a generalist software which has the capability of taking care of the whole digital content creation pipeline by itself, and with tools which each in their area are highly specialised. The tools are industry leading and in some aspects the developement is way ahead of some of the commercial competitors.Undoubtedly, the love Blender gets from it's users, and the vast amount of userbase it has, speaks for itself about the software and what it's users are able to achieve with it.

Cons

Due to depth of the software and the amount of features and tools, the learning curve for beginners maybe steep. But with a great community around it, Blender has proven where there is a will, there is a way.

### "Amazingly powerful"

March 13, 2021

5.0

Blender has been amazing as my software for 3D animations. The power that it offers while remaining completely free is excellent.

Pros

Coming off of a trial of the expensive 3DS Max software, I was amazed at how fully-featured and - in some ways - better Blender was as a free 3D modeling and animation software. The biggest pro of Blender is that it is free and open-source. Despite this, Blender receives constant and game-changing updates. Blender's complete UI overhaul and introduction of the Cycles renderer are 2 recent examples. This makes me very confident in the software, as I know it won't become outdated any time soon.

Cons

Blender has a completely different methodology for adding and manipulating objects compared to Autodesk Maya/3DS Max, SFM, etc. This isn't necessarily bad - you can get used to it, and it works fine. However, I do wish there was a preset that made Blender perform more like Autodesk or SFM. I also wish the 3D cursor could be improved, as it currently feels very finicky to position and unintuitive. Maybe a preview window or some distance information can be relayed to demonstrate where the 3D cursor is relative to my curretn viewport.

### "The most value tool for your projects"

March 3, 2022

5.0

Although a little slow to properly learn and start producing, Blender provides a fundamental set of features for the entertainment industry. I've successfully produced videos combining real footage with 3D elements modeled directly in the tool, generating a professional-quality result. The software is fast, light, and totally inexpensive.

Pros

Blender is the best tool that the entertainment industry (Vídeo and Games) could expect. It is free (as in beer and as in Freedom), complete for modeling and animating, as well as for editing videos.

Cons

The learning curve is somewhat steep, as well as in the other tools of the same category, but once mastered, the production cycle is way faster!

Reason for choosing Blender

A mixture of Cost and Features. All those are not free, one has less features, while the other has the same features.

### "Unimaginable power accompanies extraordinary compexity"

October 27, 2022

We needed a showing gadget for our entry level makers, yet we had no additional licenses on some other programming projects for them. We chose to permit them to use Blender taking everything into account, and they undoubtedly cultivated past what we could have done using more standard programming. By and by we are endeavoring to do the change to Blender primarily from Autodesk programs.

Pros

Blender has all the part and limits of any thousand bucks, try level programming projects out there, and For nothing!!! Allowing the illustrating, etching, the use of parametric modules, UVing, invigorating and conveying, without changing to another program.

Cons

The grandiose assumption to ingest data. You should get some help here by basically chasing after an online course. The instrument stash is huge and gadget handiness has all the earmarks of being a piece unconventional. There in like manner give off an impression of being as fair number of configuration changes with each new transformation - for the potential gain, at last - yet requiring steady progressing moreover. I at times think it is best used for learning and experimentation and not such a lot for the normal person's ordinary creation.

### "Blender Review"

February 18, 2023

5.0

Overall, I recommend Blender to 3D artists who are looking for a comprehensive and free modeling, animation, and rendering software. It offers an impressive range of features, and Blender's active community is a valuable asset for users of all skill levels.

Pros

I used Blender for a year and was very satisfied with this 3D modeling software. What I appreciated the most was the diversity of features offered, which allow for creating high-quality models, achieving smooth animations, and producing realistic renders. I was also impressed by Blender's active and engaged community, which shares resources, tips, and tutorials to help users improve.

Cons

The downside of Blender is that it can be challenging to get started with for beginners, due to its complex interface and unconventional workflow. It can take some time to get used to how tools and functions are organized in Blender, which can be discouraging for new users. However, once you have mastered the interface and workflow, Blender is a very powerful and efficient tool for 3D modeling.

It is an essential part for my 3D career and I love that this software is free so it would be available to everyone who is interested in learning 3D. My overall experience has been good so far and I look forward to work with this software more for my projects.

Pros

I like the powerful tools for 3D modelling, 3D sculpting and the animation feature. The fact that this software is totally free made me love it more than any other software like 3Ds Max or Maya. The tools bundled with the software can help me create anything I want in 3D environment, the software is easy to learn and work as well.

Cons

There are some limited options compare to paid license software like 3Ds Max and Maya and sometimes when I'm working with a project, there is a bug that can crash the program but I'm careful person and always save my work frequently so that is not a big deal for me.

### "Blender in allen Versionen"

March 27, 2023

5.0

### "Blender: Free To Use Yet Powerful"

May 8, 2019

5.0

Blender is a great software to be candid, this makes it a very powerful software to you. With my 2 years experience, I can say it’s worth trying out and I will definitely recommend it for anyone into 3D animation or Video editing as a profession, while I keep using it as well. With the software, you’ll be tempted to learn new renderings and update your skills.

Pros

For a powerful software, Blender is Free to Download and Free to Use, which is amazing and surprising compare to other softwares. In past two years, I have learn to use Blender for 3D rendering, videos editing & creation. The software has a great user interface, with a lot of exciting features, Blender stand out among others. Lot of free video tutorials to help users to learn the features or work on a specific 3D rendering. I’m presently learning to create Video Game Animations and Blender is a great tool, even though this isn’t an easy task, but the software is very helpful and tutorials are right there to help.

Cons

For a powerful software to work perfectly, you’ll need a powerful hardware to handle it. I started using Blender in 2014 with a low end PC, it was frustrating, the PC gets heated up quickly especially when rendering. After changing to a high end PC, I’m able to use Blender comfortably without worrying about overheating. For a beginner, this isn’t a very friendly software to use. I learnt most of the basic features using video tutorials and googling. The features are great but can be very confusing unless you are already familiar with them.

I edit videos for my company and sometimes also for my own freelance project. So I prefer to edit my videos using Blender. Because blender tools are really awesome. I have created a number of professional animations using the blender. I really like and love Blender therefore my overall experience with the blender is really incredible.

Pros

Blender is a very awesome and free 3D creation software. You can create and compose feature films using Blender. Designing Animations is very easy in Blender. There are lots of video editing tools and options are available in Blender. So even you can edit your videos up to the professional level in Blender. The interface is really awesome and you can even customize window layout and shortcuts according to your requirements.

Cons

The tools, features, and functions of blender are awesome. I never faced any problem or issue during the use of Blender. Even I export my work in a professional way according to my requirements, so according to my experience, there are no cons.

Overall Blender is a good software to any one who willing to start to do 3D desinig works and the people like me who looking a free software to do your small 3D desinig and animation work.Highly recommend it is worth every second which you spent with it.

Pros

One of the best open source software ever I used is the Blender.I used blender for create some animations to my on going mobile app development project and it is fantastic. I am not mainly doing animation 3D modeling stuff therefore I havent enough budget to buy a software to do my desinigs. And I also need a software which I can learn it quickly and do my desinigs easily. So I found Blender. It is free and also easy to adapt to it and work with it.I need only watch few youtube video tutorials to get learn the Blender. And It has huge fanbase and community so if you are in any trouble with it, you can get help very easily.Blender has lot of pre built desinigs,projects,3D models and plugins like other fameous high end desinig softwares. So you can use those to do your project much easier. At first I thought Blender is not as functional like other high end fameous softwares. But I was wrong. It can perform same as the any payable software in its catogaery even it is a open source software.I highly recommend it for any one who looking a 3D modeling software in free.

Cons

Blender is a good open source software but it has some bugs issues and those are not fixed in frequently.Developer team has done a great job in Blender but they must focus on fixing those bugs before release it. And also you have to get lot of plugins to reveal the maximum functionality of the blender and some of them are payable and those can be expensive .So I wish these functionalities must be built in to the original software. Because of that I do not recommend it for professional high end desinig works. The software can use to do small project but I am shuwer it not suitable to do high end stuff. It can do many of stuff but it is not reliable for professional works.

Uso blender giornalmente a scopo professionale.

### "Best 3D Modeling Software"

July 25, 2019

Blender is a great 3D modeler that can be used for many different software. Those 3D models can then be used for 3D modeler hardware, game developing software like Unreal Engine and Unity and even for making movies.

Pros

Blender is the best 3D modeling software out there. Although the UI is a bit confusing at times, I have found it quite easy to get used to. There is a massively numerous amount of add-ons for Blender that makes the job pretty easy to get done. 3D models can even be made from pictures and then can be exported to other softwares for extra editing. Blenders supports several import file types and export types. Blender can be used to create not only 3D models but also animations for those 3D models.

Cons

There is honestly nothing to dislike about Blender, its free, has many additional add-ons which are also free and receives new updates monthly with even more useful features. I would highly recommend this 3D modeling software.

Pros

I like that it’s very ease to create a project and the hard work pays off.

Cons

I don’t like that it’s free and everybody can use it. It should cost like 50 dollars a month .
