So, I'll recommend this software for those seeking a classic and quick CAD Drawing and Viewing experience. Thank you so very much for the elegant software. Pros Although free of charge, the software offered a large variety of tools and preferences, and a user friendly interface. Cons The user interface and graphics looked a bit dated and the tools were a bit confusing to me, however this may be due to me not being very familiar with this type of CAD, and I was quite young at the time. It was a little daunting at first, having no experience with CAD software, but once I got into the swing of things I found that it was more than what I needed at a much cheaper cost of entry than most other programs of a similar nature. Cons The user interface isn't the friendliest or most intuitive to me. It has that open-source feel where all of the refinement was put into the action of the program rather than the presentation. This is a great program to start with before dishing out hundreds of dollars on one of the BIG major CAD programs. Its compatible with .dwg files along with the Blocks and Symbols packages that are availble for download. Cons There are some bugs, but with the open feedback for improvement it's really not a bad program. Adding lots of new features with every update. Don't dismiss this program just because it's free. Pros FreeCAD is an amazing free software, it provides excellent tools both for designing and modelling. It's path module is really great, because you can predict the mechanics of cars which is excellent for fixing possible problems beforehand. Pros The best selling point for FreeCAD is that it is totally free, and hence even non-professionals can aid from it. It also doesn't restrict the users by limiting anything unreasonably like some other CAD systems. Cons Since the environment is lite, finding the right tools to have extended functions or tasks in modeling will be a little bit difficult. So, the software might be limited in handling complex CAD files. It has some free tutorials and the work benches are helpful. It was fun to take the project from a 2D sketch to 3D modelling.
