Pros: With the vast list of Magento developers out there, creating extensions and customizations, there really isn't anything you cannot do with Magento. When our website out-grew the smaller platform we were running, we migrated to Magento and didn't look back. It's a powerful system that can work for any size business, but really shows the power on larger websites.

Cons: There is definitely a learning curve and a cost associated with customizations. You get what you pay for in Magento developers, so it's important to find the right one. It will cost you more for doing custom work than other platforms, but once you find the right one, the possibilities are endless and it will last.

Pros: I really like the security that this application has, it is based on API keys that identifies each user, it is very safe.

Cons: The management of the publications becomes a bit simple, they were more front-end, it is necessary to have a detailed list of each person's shop.

Pros: I love being able to create my own store with the trial version, the fact of personalizing 100% your online store is incredible.

Cons: the free version only has a 30-day trial version, it's very expensive but it's really worth it since it has excellent options.

Pros: It is compatible with both Android and Apple and does not cause conflict in any. Install and synchronize the products in the mobile application is very easy. This extension is essential for everyone Providing superb experience Easy to set up and manage from admin side, results a powerful tool to engage your audience. Interaction couldn't be easier. It is very useful to develop our own mobile application without coding.

Cons: It is not flexible. does not allow the use of other people's content without permission. App purchases do not work. You can not create games with many complex elements. Unable to add user generated content.

Overall: Excellent support and very good Service.

Pros: You can manage your virtual stores from your phone, it is easy to navigate and search for the results you need, you do not need a great experience for this type of applications as it tries to provide the best tool for your store.

Cons: This application has a better support to keep you informed about the virtual store that you own but to make a change or promote a new product in it is complicated by the variety of tools displayed on a mobile.

Overall: It is easy to navigate in but it is complicated when integrating and modifying the products, since it limits the use of some tools, there should be more concrete tools.

Pros: It is an interesting tool, if you already have an online store in Magento. It helps to turn into a separate app, which is great for extending your audience. A number of features would work automatically, including language support, product data base and other settings, which saves plenty time.

Cons: Though it is easier than to develop an application from the scratch, it is still pretty hard to make a good app with the tool. You will definitely need an experience IT specialist for that. Besides, it generates plenty bugs, so don't expect this to work out of box.

Pros: Magento is a real shopping cart. It includes almost everything you need to open a storefront, including configurable, bundled, and digital products. It has most of the main shipping methods and payment gateways built in. There are many tools to help increase conversions.

Cons: It's HARD! If you are not a programmer (and a magento specific one at that), you will need to hire one. There is always something that needs to be configured or coded in order for everything to work well. It is extremely BULKY too, so if you do not have a large product offering, there are lighter solutions out there.

Overall: Open an all-around online storefront with most of the bells and whistles built in.

Pros: Easy to use in the beginning: this application has a friendly way of use, even for those who are not particularly a technological expert, to the point that you can even find solutions outside the box to support yourself and the company.
Ability to scale from little to much: you can climb from 5 products to 200,000, in fact it was intended to make that scale process possible.
This application is adapted to the user, as it can serve for small companies , as a much larger

Cons: The maintenance costs on the technical side are high although this has to do with a complex system of operation and the high specialization that this entails, taking into account that it takes a considerable amount of time to learn to use it.

Hosting: Due to the complexity and scalable design, you pretty much need to host a Magento store on its own dedicated server. This means additional expense to get things started, and an extra online monthly cost to boot.

Pros: Love how fast our eCommerce site is. We also feel that it is significantly more secure than previous sites.

Pros: For stores oriented to the whole world there is a pleasant function - multicurrency. Do not have to build "crutches", look for plug-ins or pay programmers. And also pleased with the opportunity to offer an individual price to each customer.

Pros: I'm a Magento 2 Enterprise Cloud user, and I find the bundled services (CDN, Caching, Reporting, etc) to be of great value. They are also PCI compliant and support a wide range of payment methods, shipping, and integrations. The platform is just booming right now and seems to have a great future.

Cons: Magento 2 Cloud Edition comes with a few restrictions for the sake of security. Those restrictions are a problem with extensions that aren't optimized for the cloud version. Cloud is a new product so developers are catching up with the specs. The installation of new features via extensions could also be a problem for non-developers. You will find WooCommerce, Shopify, and Prestashop click based approach more efficient in this aspect.

Pros: It is easy to install and you can have out-of-the box, most of the features you are going to need to sell and showcase your products in the digital world. Despite Magento 1 was quite complex to use, Magento 2 has an improved back office, much more usable for merchants. Magento is also quite robust and flexible and specially scalable.

Cons: Once you grow, you need a lot of knowledge to manage it or hire a company to manage it instead and doing the ongoing maintenance. If not well coded, it is easy to turn the system in something with lots of errors and bugs to fix.

Given that the multi vendor features are setup perfectly and are functioning as desired it gives a very stable system.

Cons: Seems to be difficult and slow to run from the localhost as it requires a powerful server. I think this can be considered by the software developer team to allow for better a localhost environment to allow for better testing before live production.

Pros: Magento is a very useful and complete tool, we can develop eCommerce projects of any size, it has more extensions than other similar CMS and they are of better quality. It does not matter how much your company can grow because magento can sustain that growth.

Cons: It is not as intuitive as other CMS. Some experience in environments of this style is required to achieve a good result because the programming with Magento is more complex, although any programmer can touch the design, with Magento it is not usually easy

Pros: Once I worked with a large online store, the owners of which decided to create a new site. So it was very easy to import goods into Magento. For downloading, use the third-party program Magmi. It allows you to download products with all the attributes and data, including pictures and images of goods. Standard import of goods makes it easy to download products to the site.

Cons: In order for your online store to work "perfectly" to speed up the loading of the pages, it is necessary to "tighten" the caching system to the site, to fine-tune NGINX and optimize the configuration of the database. This will significantly speed up the work of the site with cumbersome topics (like Ultimo) and a large number of products.

Cons: The engine runs slowly at times. It will not be able to effectively use small teams that have few employees. The interface is quite complicated.

Cons: Magento is not easy to use at all if you are a beginner. Honestly, if you have no experience with development and plan to work on the site yourself, skip Magento altogether. It's only for businesses that do not have low budgets.

Pros: There are SO many options for personalizing the look of our website. Also, creating associated SKUs from a configurable SKU speed the process along, especially considering we are multiple clothing lines that we produce and release each year.

Cons: A lot of things that seem "normal" on website we visit cost extra to add to our platform. There is no simple way to bulk price change or discontinue products. We use simple SKUs and configurable SKUs and would think that the information would trickle down from the configurable to the simple SKUs that are associated to it, but they don't. So for price changing, we have to go into every single simple SKU (all sizes within all colors) to make any updates.

Overall: We are able to manage our website in house without having to hire too many outside contractors. We can personalize and update as things come up. It's nice to be able to have this control at our finger tips.

There are lots of compatible apps that work with Magento, and it's become an industry standard.

Cons: With open source, there comes caveats. If you plan to update your version of Magento to the newest, you had better check with your third party features to make sure they will not break when upgraded.

Pros: We LOVED Magento when we first started with it. We hired a designer and made a beautiful store. MagentoGo was the perfect solution for a small business. We built a store that looked professional. Many large companies build on Magento because it is open source and you can really customize it. Magento had great customer service but just didn't fit our needs anymore.

Cons: Unfortunately, Magento Go shut down in 2015, and there was no simple solution for our small business. We were left to start from scratch. There is now Magento Open Source that allows for small businesses to use it free, and to offer a lot of what we first fell in love with Magento for. But, there isn't much in the middle. Pros: One of the most important things is really well prepared for handling the most common ecommerce businesses requirements out of the box even in the free version (paid version provides thinks like RMA support also), especially important supports international business setups. The things that are not handled out of the box can be completed through modules, some free/ some paid.

Cons: That hey don't have a SaaS option (they used in the past, Magento Go) as that will be easier for startups and SMB. Also the installation of the modules should be made more plug and play without needing tech support and more stable, as some time when adding new modules they crash with each other, and that means everything requires a lot of testing, that could be time consuming. In comparison to tools like shopify, Magento is much more complex.

Cons: Magento is a learning curve and a half. It's harder to learn than learning to develop in some ways :). I also often find that plugins from the marketplace are low quality, it would be nice if there were more vetting other than community vetting.

Pros: There are a plethora of installed features: search term synonyms, built-in marketing tools, detailed shipping/packaging settings, separate catalog and cart price rules, etc. It's a monster of a platform, one that serves many companies very well. Not having to install a hundred plugins (like on WP) to do what Magento does out of the box is a plus, for sure, not to mention having to worry about the compatibility, support, and updates on WP plugins.

Cons: Go away for 5 minutes, you're signed out. Also, literally every website I download Magento to has to have everything reindexed. I get this message immediately after installing Magento: "One or more indexers are invalid. Make sure your Magento cron job is running." Very little info out there on how to fix this, so the first go around was a bit tricky. Not impossible or difficult now, but it's not a good feeling when you install software and immediately it appears broken.

It is simply not easy to make a site look good with Magento. You can, for sure, but it requires SO much more work than other platforms, and there's not an easy way to view the front end without going live.

The idea of not having plugins seemed appealing, but after using Magento, I only use WP with WooCommerce unless a client near-demands that I use Magento. It just takes way to long to create anything. The time I would have spent installing, updating, or researching plugins in WP, I wasted just trying to find my way around Magento. There should be a way to create a quick menu or admin favorites bar or something, so it doesn't take 3 clicks/pages just to get to where you want to be.

Overall: Honestly, very few. I suppose it's good to have gained a little experience with Magento to add to my repertoire, but that's about it.

Pros: Magento is a very popular CMS, but it's not worth it to develop small on-line stores. In other respects, the software complex allows you to make an Internet store of any complexity, and if necessary its functionality can be expanded with the help of modules.

Due to this function, it is possible for a certain category of buyers to offer individual prices, for example, to give discounts to regular customers. In addition, you can reduce the price for a while. You can also organize various actions, for example "when you buy this product you will receive free shipping or xxx as a gift." All special offers of the store can be collected on one page of the site, and, to make it you can be excellent in design from all other pages.

Cons: CMS Magento is designed for experienced administrators, since the control panel in it is quite complicated, and you will either need to spend a lot of time studying it, or hire an experienced specialist. The main drawback of Magento is the English-language management interface.

Pros: CMS Magento easily and easily creates categories and subcategories, information for each product is added just as easily. And still here you can attach to the product similar units.

Cons: Dealing with CMS Magento is difficult, especially since it works on the basis of ZendFramework. In general, do not expect any familiar design and familiar interface.

Pros: A feature of Magento is also the ability to receive reports related to user visits to individual pages of the site, in particular pages with products. For example, you can find out at what time of day visitors come to a page with a specific product and what page they are watching last, before they leave the site.

Cons: In order for a site created on Magento to work quickly, the server is presented with rather high requirements. In addition, it is desirable that the server was in the same country to which the online store will operate.

Pros: In this CMS, you have full access to the HTML code, so you can add the meta tags "keywords" and "description". Automatically creates an XML site map, which is used by search engines. Magento also supports the Google Analytics system.

Cons: In addition to the English-speaking interface of the panel, almost all the documentation related to technical support is in English, because in our country this platform is not so popular yet. Yes, and additions for the Russian user is not enough, including for payment systems of the type.

Pros: Magento can do almost everything and anything and there are so many plugins and addon's from the Magento community that pushes it far beyond just a website platform into something else that can really be tailored to fit your websites needs. Our Company came from the Yahoo platform and that was just a 4 wall padded cell compared to Magento which is beyond anything we can fully utilize to its maximum potential for our E-Commerce business.

Cons: There is some learning curve to Magento; however, with a little time it is easy enough to master and ends up having much more functionality and versatility in the long run.

Overall: Great E-Commerce platform that any small business owner should turn to when hosting their own website platform.

Pros: In order to try to create a site on Magento, it is not necessary to buy an expensive tariff - at first you can use the free version. This is very convenient, because you can, without losing money, to assess whether you are suitable for this application or not.

Cons: Magento development system is very resource-demanding, besides it is expensive. But those who need a powerful multifunctional online store, this will not stop.

Pros: Thanks to the developers for a flexible and multifaceted platform for creating websites. The most convenient advantage over analogues is the ability to create simultaneously several online stores.

Cons: If you do not speak English well enough, it will not be easy for you to understand the documentation. In addition, most of the topics in the specialized forums are also only in English.

Pros: I have in development, project manager over 4 years (enterprise level). The Magento core is designed such a way you virtually can do anything with it. What i liked most about magento is that most of the common ecommerce functionalities are built it, and it save you a lot of money and time.

Cons: I am happy that M2 has been out for last few years. I wish there was a easy option to switch code from M1 to M2. M2 is a platform change, and requires me to rebuilt. I am sure somebody will create a module soon.

Pros: It is without a doubt the most comprehensive e-commerce site builder available with features other tools simply don't have or require 3rd party add-ons.

Cons: It isn't anywhere near as easy to use as some of its competition, limiting the number of times we use it to only those sites that need its extra complexity

Overall: It allows us to build e-commerce sites that look and feel entirely bespoke, great for clients that have pre-existing sites and need to keep the storefront on brand.
