I appreciate the ease of use, the great communication with many departments, and the customer support that is offered. It is also a great tool to keep up with driving logs. It is easy to pull reports involving specific vehicles that record stops and starts and duration driven. Pros I appreciate the customer support and ease of use. Questions are answered in a timely manner and their goal is customer satisfaction. The online dashboard is easy to use whether to send support tickets, update drivers information, or configure alerts and settings. Communication is also top priority, I appreciate the communication threads throughout troubleshooting issues is appreciated. Cons My only complaint is with equipment gateways. Equipment isn't always an easy plug and go like it is with the vehicles. Sometimes it is harder to get accurate information without troubleshooting to see what wire works best, or if hardwiring is the better option. Their vision of performance to the customer needs is nothing but perfect for what we are looking for. Pros Advanced AI technology. Better camera lenses with clear coverage. All pertinent safety measurements right on your computer screen with automated driver training. Cons updates are very frequent and you need time to catch up with them. You need to learn immediately what is new to keep abreast and then by the time you catch up there is something new out almost immediately. Pros I think they have a very good product. I think their Customer Support is not where it should be. You get small tidbits from them, but it seems they want to make a sale and then the product is shipped. End of the line. Cons Customer service or lack there of. User friendly interface, multiple export options, and quick processing time. I'd recommend based on my somewhat focused use. Pros Easy functionality of the online platform, with ready ability to access and export needed reports on a regular basis and manipulate the parameters as needed. Very quick results, too. Cons I have not had any particularly negative experiences in using the platform thus far. There used to be a slight lag when first logging in to get to the Custom Reports I need, but that doesn't happen very frequently anymore, and it's once a very minor inconvenience when it does. July 11, 2026 5.0 I use it everyday throughout my shift and am always happy with the system. Again it is simple to use, but there is a ton of depth when you are looking for it. Tracking drivers with GPS, their forward cameras and there inside cameras are just fantastic. Also, for safety tracking no seatbelts or hard stops or playing with their phones - that safety rating is awesome. It is a great system for sure. Pros It has a ton of information that is easy to use and find within the system. At the same time it is not overwhelming, so if you just want to deal with the GPS or just asset tracking that is simple to do too. You are boggled with too much information when you don't want it, but it is easy to dig in and find what you are looking for. Also the AI help system and training tools are well done and again, not too much info complicating everything, but easy to dig in if you want to. February 27, 2026 5.0 Overall we've had a great experience with Samsara. It is integrated with every department of the company from Operations, Safety & Compliance, Maintenance and Billing. Pros What I like most about Samara is the ease of use. From installation to implementation it is all very user and driver friendly. The dash cameras are great, the event detection is very accurate and were able to use this to coach our drivers real time. Their customer support is also great, every ticket I have created has been resolved in a matter of a day. We truly see the value for money with the cameras alone it has saved us from proving we were not at fault for several accidents. Cons There is not much not to like. I would say some drivers have complained about the voice alerts being too sensitive. They sometimes get an in cab voice alert but the event/ video never shows up in the safety inbox. I've had to handpick which alerts to roll out to not overstimulate the drivers. We are a small company and Samsara provides more data than we can actually use, but I prefer that to putting up with some of the other systems that we have looked at. Pros The user interface is elegant and intuitive. I rarely have to refer to the documentation to figure out how something works. All of the information that needs to be together is displayed together and links to related data. The customer support techs almost always know what I am talking about and what they are talking about. The vehicle tracking is practically real time. Pros Samsara offers a very comprehensive vehicle safety management system combining reliable GPS tracking capabilities with AI-powered and assisted driver monitoring capabilities to help keep drivers safe in the moment and reduce accident risks. The equipment is durable, fast, and provides audio minders to drivers when they are demonstrating negative behaviors (ex: looking at their cell phones, speeding, not wearing a seatbelt, etc.). The dashboard for tracking vehicles across numerous states and geographical regions is very user-friendly. Recorded date from accidents or near-miss events can be easily obtained and is helpful for training and liability purposes. Lastly, the enhanced monitoring components help track vehicle health telematics like engine hours, battery effectiveness, and mileage. Samsara integrates well with our fuel card program and our Fleet Management system to help keep track of fuel economy and spend, and minders for preventative and periodic maintenance. Cons On occasion, we have had lapses in the availability of video data from key events, and this has made it harder to settle accident cases. Whether these lapses were caused by tech issues or internal errors is still not clear. The customer and tech support divisions are typically very responsive, but in some cases, they are slow to reply or initiate support efforts. I believe this is partly due to the timezone difference between Samsara and my company. I will say that whenever we have had an issue that we deemed serious enough to escalate to higher levels of support, they have been very responsive. The AI facial recognition software tracks employees effortlessly between different vehicles, and the safety inbox and safety reporting features help me to review my fleet easily on a daily basis. As a Safety Manager I appreciate the easy to use reporting functions and have been able to build an entire driver safety bonus program by utilizing Samsara's driver scoring system so my drivers are directly rewarded for their safe behavior on the road. Pros Samsara provides an excellent value for the cost of the system, especially when installed throughout an entire fleet of vehicles. Customer Support from Samsara is top notch, with questions being answered quickly and effectively. The software provides ease of use for administrators, installers, and end users. Any bus or issues experienced have been taken care of almost immediately from Samsara's team of experts. Log management is easily accessed and easy to review. Communication with Samsara is always fast and effortless. Cons I do not have any cons to report when it comes to Samsara. The software has been great for my drivers and fleet management team. March 13, 2026 5.0 Since one of our primary functions with our operation is to enforce parking, our fleet and our large number of Enforcement Officers are vital to a successful operation. In the past we have been able to follow their route through Opsman, however, we were not able to see them in the vehicle. We were not able to monitor their speed, or the vast array of possible safety issues while operating the vehicle. Samsara has been an incredible asset to us for ensuring safety of our fleet on the road, reducing incidents with our drivers, providing support following an incident, and providing an avenue through which we can affirm, encourage, and reward our Enforcement officers for above average performance! It has been extremely beneficial and positive. Pros Samsara has had a tremendous impact on our enforcement operation. When we first began using it, we had so many Safety Captures every day. Being able to see this, to share screenshots, download video captures, present these items to our drivers, has had a huge impact in a positive manner. Many of our drivers have now had 6 months or more of driving with no issues or with a 100 score. We present them with certificates and this has greatly increased morale and pride in their work. Samsara is very easy to use and navigate and provides incredible benefits to our enforcement operation such as tracking where our officers are at any given time, providing video footage when presenting evaluations or disciplinary action, etc. When there is any issue I just send out an email and get a reply from Samsara very quickly. They are quick to act when a problem needs resolution but there honestly have been very few issues. Samsara is a great value to our operation and worth the money invested. Cons The only issue I have observed with our Samsara program is that it is sometimes too sensitive. For example, it was capturing drivers for 'Possible drowsiness" where they weren't even yawning or closing their eyes. It is very helpful that you are able to adjust sensitivities with this software. The recent update has been especially helpful and it is even easier to navigate now! Would I recommend them? Yes. But would everyone accept it right away? I’m not sure I’d have to be a pretty good salesman. Pros I like a lot of things about Samsara, the customer support, the accuracy, the features, and the cameras. The cameras could still be improved, but overall I’m happy with the system. Cons I don’t really like the constant updates that slow things down, or the new features that show up without a clear explanation and often aren’t needed. The payment process is also a bit unclear. There are good things, but there’s definitely room for improvement. The IFTA reports could definitely be improved, as well as better control over speeding. I also want to mention the updates the data connection is limited, and with weekly updates this often causes incorrect hour calculations for drivers. When it comes to hours, this is a real issue, especially because Samsara is considered one of the best ELD devices in the USA, and my company uses it mainly because the logs cannot be edited. Because of that, Samsara should improve its services and make things easier for drivers, not force them to do “math problems” just to guess how many hours they will have. Our drivers consistently follow their scheduled routes, conduct mandatory pre-route and post-route vehicle inspections, and submit digital vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs). Cons I have noticed inconsistencies with the real-time alerts. Recently, one of my drivers was involved in a car accident, but I did not receive an accident alert. Instead, the only notification I received was a harsh brake alert. This suggests the accident alert functionality may not be working reliably. Second, for the route planning feature, it would be highly beneficial if we could be more precise when choosing the departure times for our drivers and other related schedule details. The Following Distance information that is captured along with Speeding, Harsh Brakes, Rolling Stops, and Lane Change Departures allows an organization to identify risk with their drivers. Thus, allowing drivers to be coached on safe driving habits. Cons Not having a paper log app option. The scoring system should use GPS speed to capture the vehicle speed for the scoring system. We are currently looking to enhance our efficiencies by looking into the routing using Samsara. We are really using the reports to assist us with tracking, performance, and efficiency. The value we currently gain has given us insights into the truck and driver performances. The support we receive has been tremendous. We have had questions and a couple issues that were resolved quickly and the first time. Cons Prior to the latest updates, In would have said the need to have one place to look at critical information. With the latest webinar, you have created one screen that provides the necessary information needed. It was a great update.
