Pros I like the most the fact that the app can monitor our fleet in real time, give us alerts, and integrate very smooth with our other software for fleet management. I also like as a new feature the AI assistant which you can use to ask any question about any unit from your fleet and you can receive real-time data as an answer to your specific question, it also has the function to generate efficiency reports. Cons What I dislike the least is that, although it is a good thing, but the map being extremely detailed can cause the app to run slowly on some computers, and there is no option that I am aware of to change the resolution of the map, this is more of a performance issue, as the map being extremely detailed is a good thing for our dispatchers and safety department. Cons The issues with connections. They seem to always get unplugged or malfunction. The system changes seem to not change fleet wide even when that is what I select. Cons cost (I know it is a great system but the budget is always a concern) and frankly, all the continual updates and add ons. I really just need the base system on a dashboard that doesn't change... ever. Managers regularly call me asking how to find something they once could locate easily. Could you perhaps provide a "Classic" version or button that just leaves well enough alone? Actually that isn't correct... how about leaves GREAT alone? Driver safety and coaching is a big benefit being able to monitor driver safety scores. real time visibility helps keep track of drivers & monitors our routes. Those are my top favorite things. Cons integration with our dispatch system. Seems like codes that we have to use for Honda don't always transfer correctly and the same goes for trailer #'s. also seems Samsara has a lot of screens. Sometimes it is hard to find driver scores, reviewing events, etc. I'd rather have important info at a glance. Pros The ability to check a drivers location at the click of a button, and that it gives you an estimated completion time on their routes. Cons Nothing that I can think of that another program does better than Samsara. This is one of the best we have used. The record keeping and realtime tracking is wonderful. Pros Log Management, Ease of Use. Very helpful for tax reporting and AI features are great for in truck reminders. Cons Due to all the data stored it can be hard to quickly get to an event in the videos. Employees say the AI feature of in truck reminders are very strick and can provide reminders for things like touching ear, certain movements, etc. Switched from [Verizon Connect](https://www.capterra.com/p/72551/Fleetmatics-Work/) No database of records, terrible customer service and IFTA/ HUT tracking was poor. Alternatives considered [Encompass](https://www.capterra.com/p/10034898/Encompass/) Reasons for choosing Samsara wasn't happy with past experience with Keller and Samsara seemed to be a good system with investments being made in improvements. You can also create competition on Samsara to see who has the best score. Pros Samsara, is easy to use and track down where your drivers are at. You can see when they start a task and how far they are from the current location. Cons Sometimes drivers get violations for minor lane departure. Some drivers are driving and they'll get a violation for lane departure and they are actually in lane. The ability to reach out for step-by-step help has been very helpful, and the AI assistance is a great tool for walking you through different processes and helping you find solutions. Pros The safety reporting is great. It’s a great tool for tracking speeding, hard braking, and hard acceleration. It gives us a good way to monitor driver behavior, address safety concerns, and use the coaching tools to help drivers improve. Cons Under the DVIR section, it would be beneficial to have a mandatory weekly form for drivers to complete. This would make it easier for us to consistently collect important information and follow up on vehicle or equipment issues. There are also a lot of features and settings, so it can take some time to learn the system and determine what works best for our needs. I watch the driver I'm expecting so I could know when it be arriving Cons the least I like about samsara is that sometimes it's slow,. also, it freezes but once in a while not all the time.
