I do not like the requirement for multi-factor authentication. This should be an option for each company to individually choose. Pros The quality of products, service and support are top notch. Samsara has allowed me (and the company) to track our assets with ease. There are reports that can be set up that make some/most reporting more simple. Great value Cons Learning to navigate the webstore. Options in the store were difficult to find until learning to navigate properly. Pros The gateways are easy to install. It's easy to add/remove features. Their tech support is outstanding. The website is easy to use and has a lot of flexibility. The cameras and AI used for generating alerts is accurate and helpful. Getting a new/replacement unit is easy and only takes a day or two. Cons While adding features is easy, there is no a la carte option, it's a complete package upgrade when you only want to use 1 or 2 features. Cons The company continues to take away features that were once standard and turn them into packages that you must pay extra for. Our company used a couple different over the years, this is hands down the best one. Pros The tracking on the Samsara website and the app are amazing! Being able to see where my driver is at any moment helps a lot. This helps me keep them on time for appointments, or let's me see I need to call their stops and push out delivery if they are behind. I love knowing. I also like the safety videos as well! Cons Not sure I like the new format, but I am getting used to it. Also, the app is not as fast as using the website. We have had Samsara for almost a year, and the customer support and ease of use are far superior to who we had before. Pros I'm a fleet manager, and use the dashboard daily. My favorite part of the system is the ease of the dashboard, and how intuitive it is. We've used other products that were very clunky. And this isn't - it's smooth and easy to use. On top of that, it's also a better price than the competitors! Cons A few of my drivers say the app is slow. This could be user error, but I am not sure. It isn't a consistent complaint across all our drivers. It gives us better visibility, reduces wasted time, and helps us run a more organized operation across multiple job sites. Even with the few tech issues we experienced, the value we’ve gotten out of the system far outweighs the cons. I’d recommend it to other construction companies that want better reporting, accountability, and an easier way to stay on top of their fleet. Pros We’ve been using the Samsara fleet tracking system for our masonry construction company, and it’s been a very solid addition to how we manage our vehicles and equipment. The real-time visibility has honestly made our lives a lot easier—being able to see where trucks are, coordinate job site arrivals, and keep things moving without a bunch of phone calls or guesswork has saved us time and headaches. The dashboard is pretty intuitive too, which is nice because we’ve got a mix of tech comfort levels in our office and out in the field, and everyone picked it up quickly. The system also gives us helpful insight into driver behavior and maintenance needs, which has pushed us to stay ahead of service issues and coach safer driving habits, both of which have real financial benefits when you’re running a fleet. Cons We did have a few hiccups along the way with the actual tracking devices. A couple of them failed and had to be replaced, which wasn’t ideal, and led to some downtime and troubleshooting. That said, their support team was responsive and handled replacements fairly quickly, so it didn’t turn into a long-term problem—more of an occasional annoyance than anything else. We looked at 5 different system and decided on Samara because they have the very user-friendly system that does everything we need and the pricing was fantastic. This system has really given me a handle on our drivers behavior and being able to coach them in real time and in the end changing their driving behavior and making us a better company. I love the reporting options and the ease of tracking my equipment. Cons None! We have been on this system for over a year, and I have not had a single complaint. Keep up the great work. Samsara helps me keep track of my fleet vehicles and has helped us make informed decisions based on actionable data. Pros The ease and flexibility to set up vehicles with Cameras/Gateways or replace the equipment is very intuitive and user-friendly. Also, the support I get from my current representative is amazing and on point. I know that I can reach out with my concerns and speak to the rep within a fair amount of business days. On urgent messages the response came faster, which is in line with my expectations as a customer. Cons It's a concern with the capabilities of the camera unit. We do a fair amount of night shift work, and due to either the camera or the dark lit conditions inside the work truck, it is very difficult to clearly see the occupants of the vehicle. I would like to see improvements of low light capabilities. Another concern is that some of the features I report about are not accessible via the Developer's API, such as Service Logs. Other than the one billing issue I have no complaints. Pros It's pretty easy to set new equipment up. Also, the reporting functions are very straight forward and user friendly. Cons Billing. We have 26 units and I accidentally set one of them up on monthly billing. The rest of the units are on an annual invoice. I was told by billing that they could not add the one unit to our annual invoice. Now my company credit card is billed monthly for 1 unit. It would seem to be an easy fix. Review Source LM Lindsey M. Since implementation the chaos that is managing a fleet of trucks and drivers has been given order. This is a tool that allows us to more efficiently and accurately: bill customers, pay drivers, dispatch drivers, maintain equipment, track milage, address safety concerns and track driver's licenses and medical cards. Pros I like how easy Samsara is to use. If I have a question or issue Samsara also has a knowledge base of articles and videos that cover almost every topic that may arise. The documents are step by step and easy to follow. If for some reason I can't find an answer there, the Samsara support team is there to help. Every interaction with them has been positive. They are quick to respond, very thorough when figuring out the issue and the follow up is impressive. The communication through the process is very much appreciated. I never dread having to reach out to support because I know they will solve whatever problem I may have. Cons My least favorite thing is the inability to search messages that were sent. I use the messaging to communicate with our drivers and sometimes I need information that was sent awhile ago. Being able to search key words would be pretty helpful with how I use Samsara. Pros Direct feedback from each vehicle, with video footage, is great for monitoring a fleet from one location. Samsara's dashboards and reporting make it easy to extract information. The ability to modify speed limits on our coverage area map to match the actual limits is great. When I need customer support, it is readily available. I have used this with multiple different employers and I use Samsara all throughout my day. Pros Tracks technicians in real time, shows photos of their view, how fast they are going, if their check engine lights are on, tire pressure etc. Keeps log of their driving for months so you can go back when needed. Searching an address and being able to see who is closest and how long it would take to dispatch that technician. Cons Delay with searching in the Dispatch tab. I cannot think of much else, it would be good to get a notification when the device gets unplugged from the vehicle so we know in real time. Review Source DW David W. Samsara has been a game changer for our business. Pros We like being able to see real time location of our fleet, also love the vehicle diagnostics. And it's very easy to recall video captures at certain moments of a trip for review. Cons When vehicle has been turned off for a while, you can still see it's location but the camera views time out. The benefits most definitely outweigh any doubts from the start. I would recommend to anyone with any type of fleet. The sight you're able to have in so many aspects of your company really gives you peace of mind. I can't imagine not having Samara as a tool after using it now! Pros The camera views of the driver and the ability it has given us to pull footage immediately after a harsh event has made things so much smoother for many parts of our company. Being able to track the trucks and maintenance on them has lifted a weight on us! Their customer service team has always been friendly and helpful. Pros Samsara is simple to use and keeps us connected with company assets and employees. We have actually recovered a stolen vehicle that was left behind a carwash after it was stolen from an employees driveway. Cons The only negative feedback is wishing the satellite imagery was updated more often. The construction in our area of operation is booming and the satellite images are outdated and this makes it difficult to pinpoint newly built houses and commercial properties.
