We are huge on safety and the cameras help protect our drivers. However, the system is not always accurate when showing addresses (a vehicle can show they are two buildings down the road when they are parked here), and the DVIR builder could be better in general. Pros GPS tracking and safety events are big in the company and these features are powerful. They can sometimes have errors but it is getting better with time. Cons DVIR very limited. I understand that by DOT laws, pictures are not required if an item within the DVIR is "safe", however for companies like ours that the vehicles end up scattered all around the country, having pictures regardless is very important. Pros The Samsara dashboard is quite easy to read and how to figure out how to use it. I also like that I can put all my costumers into the overview and i can click on them for the address if needed. Cons The only thing I struggle with in the dashboard is the IFTA. I wish that the fuels that drivers put into samsara would download right into the IFTA Review Source TN Tamara N. Sometimes I wish there was an option for 10 minute clips with sound, right now it's only 5 minutes at a time. Pros I like the gps and the live video. It's easy to use. Most of the time it works great, issues can usually be fixed. Cons The footage goes black sometimes. The software is very dependent on how you use it, meaning you need to adapt it to your situation. To some this could be considered annoying however I think it’s the biggest advantage to the software. Pros Samsara is a great way to maintain your fleet vehicles. There are so many options in the software to allow you to utilize it with your needs. Being able to add service logs and issues are my 2 biggest favorites. Cons I have not had too many cons with Samara. Pros Its so easy to operate and we love the customer Service. My Drivers love the ease of operating the App Cons Nothing everything is so much better than the last Company we had. we don't have anything negative to say about the System. It helps the company be more safety conscience no doubt. I can track my guys and keep up with them easier. Pros It’s really good and keeps your guys doing the right thing. And it shows you what they’re doing when you can’t be there. Cons When my guys do something wrong, I get the alerts and emails from my boss ha ha ha. We have several other vendors call wanting us to switch to their product but we are not interested because we enjoy Samara product and customer service. Pros Easy to navigate to find information needed for reports or daily monitoring. Customer support is amazing. Cons The only thing I can say is like everything else, I would like it to be cheaper but I feel like I get what I pay for. We are working with Samsara now to integrate our maintenance tracking in their software now as well. Pros We like the protection of our assets, and the data Samsara is able to provide. We have been protected from dishonest people in regard to vehicle accidents. Cons None. The system is not complicated to use, updates and improvements are always being made. Cons Some of the features feel like they are not quite complete. Cons Some of the support persons seem like they are learning the product themselves. To a motor carrier, we need quick response to issues with immediate answers. Cons If I have a complaint, it's that they could do better notifying customers about changes or tweaks in how the HOS side works. We've had some confusion after their updates. They provide very good insight and the are consistently always upgrading there systems. Pros The easy of use of the dashboard and how data is contained and made easier to understand it is probably the apple equivalent of ELD products Cons Somethings i don't like is sometimes the backend is a little slow when it comes to certain things like making an edit on a drivers log it will not update immediately sometimes we have to instruct people to log out and log back into the system in order for the changes to be prompted so they can accept them. Pros It's ease of use and the functionality it gives us in the daily management of our fleet and ways to address trends we are seeing with our drivers. Cons Lack of speed tracking on detailed overview. When you drill down to the exact location of the truck and can watch it driving you cannot see the speed they are traveling.
