It has given us a much better foundation for managing fleet visibility, GPS tracking, routing, dispatch, and driver operations from a centralized platform. Our implementation has also shown us that Samsara is capable of becoming more than just a vehicle tracking system. We have been building a workflow that takes reservation data from our rental platform, processes it into daily delivery and pickup routes, and brings those routes into Samsara for our drivers. There has been a learning curve, particularly around route imports, data formatting, integrations, and automation. Some of the functionality we need has required us to build processes around Samsara rather than being available natively. That said, I view Samsara as an important part of our long-term technology infrastructure. The core platform is strong, and I think continued improvements in APIs, third-party integrations, route automation, and interoperability could make it even more valuable for businesses like ours that operate dynamic delivery and rental fleets. Pros What I like most about Samsara is that it provides a strong, centralized platform for fleet visibility, GPS tracking, routing, and driver operations while still giving us enough flexibility to integrate it into our own operational workflows. We use Samsara in a rental and delivery environment, so our needs extend beyond simply tracking vehicles. We have been able to build a workflow that takes reservation data from our rental platform, we convert it into daily csv that is imported for delivery and pickup routes, imports those routes into Samsara, and makes them available to our drivers through the mobile app. The combination of real-time fleet visibility, route management, historical data, and a driver-facing application gives us a foundation that can grow with the business. I especially appreciate that Samsara can serve as an enterprise fleet platform rather than requiring us to assemble separate products for GPS tracking, dispatch, routing, and driver operations. Cons What I like least about Samsara is that some of the routing and dispatch functionality requires more manual configuration or external development than I initially expected. Our business operates a rental fleet with daily deliveries and pickups generated from reservations in another platform. While Samsara provides excellent GPS, vehicle visibility, routing, and driver tools, turning reservation data into optimized daily routes required us to develop our own workflow for transforming and importing that information into Samsara. The CSV import requirements and differences between how reservation systems and Samsara structure locations, routes, stops, and drivers also created a learning curve. I would like to see more flexible integrations, APIs, and automation around route creation and optimization, particularly for businesses where routes change every day based on orders or reservations. Better native tools for automatically converting external booking or order data into optimized routes would make Samsara significantly easier to implement and would reduce the need for middleware or custom development. Easy to use and track. We use samsara on a daily basis in my department. Pros The website is pretty easy to navigate and the AI driver verification works pretty well. We use the safety inbox feature on a daily basis. Cons The video retrieval process could be a little easier to navigate and it would be nice to have a live view feature. Samsara has become a tool we rely on regularly to help manage our fleet. I use it to look into vehicle locations, review trips, review driver logs and get information when something happens on the road. Having that information available has saved us time and has made it much easier to make decisions based on what actually happened rather than relying on incomplete data and assumptions. Samsara has definitely improved our visibility and accountability across the fleet. For a transportation operation, having that level of information readily available is extremely valuable. Pros The biggest benefit for me is having real-time visibility into our fleet. Being able to quickly see where a vehicle is and review what happened has made it much easier to manage day to day issues. The tracking information is especially helpful when we need to answer questions or investigate a situation without having to rely on secondhand information. Cons There is definitely a learning curve. Getting familiar with the system and all of its features can also feel a little overwhelming at first. Samsara has a lot of features, and it can take some time to figure out where everything is and how to get the most out of the system. That said, once you become familiar with it, it gets much easier to use and provides tremendous benefit to any company. Pros Absolutely breezy UI. So easy to look at and understand the information presented. It is practically turn key, you log in and immediately can grasp how to use the service. They update often to improve the value, add functions, or correct any bugs in the system. I love that I can communicate with my drivers safely through the internal messaging, and it has the option to read the message aloud to the drivers when delivered; which is great for time sensitive information. When I have had to reach out to Customer Service, they have answered the call promptly and resolved my questions every single time. Cons Sometime it is difficult to find some of the statistics that I need for my quarterly reports. It is only a minor inconvenience tho, and the AI chat tends to be able to guide me toward the solution. Pros Samsara is great value for the money. The ease of use made it popular among our staff. When I did need customer support, the communication was excellent. Cons I did not experience any bugs and issues. I found the platform and software highly intuitive, deeply appreciating the advanced features, custom options, and valuable data provided for daily fleet management.
