print options for rosters could be better not being able to set different pay rates for job titles. not being able to personalize authorization access levels

Pros

I can keep track of my employees time sheets, vacation use, and make easy, quick journal entries with out the paper mess. I save time each payperiod, I love the organization

Cons

I would like a notification flag that an employee has changed their time clock entry. It takes too much time to go to every employee- everyday and check their history and comments. Just put a flag on their time card when they change so I only have to check that one entry.

The application is very user friendly and well designed.

Cons

I would like to see more functionality out of the application. I would like to be able to track timesheets, set up direct deposit, access tax documents in the same place where my schedule is made.

A little too tight with the tracking- but it does remind you to clock out if you havent which is nice.

Open shifts are set to a specific location. For our business, it would be great if open shifts could cross multiple locations.

Pros

This product is very user friends and it also has a system that integrates with our payroll system so it makes it easy to import time sheets.

Cons

I don't like that I am unable to export time sheets into an excel spread sheet.

WE use this software to track hours and vacations time requests sent emails to me so I can approve, does a good job at tracking employee hours which is what i need it for mainly, no complaints pretty straight forward, we use a kiosk for checking in/out

Pros

Android app ++, easy control of staff and their hours worked, great consistent updates. awesome copy/paste function for weekly roster

Cons

The non-ability to choose what time you staff is required to be on break. Apart from that, the support team is always on to your issues...

The ease and finesse of the app. Tech support is on point ALWAYS! The cost is affordable monthly and my employees love the ability to swap trade or request shifts!

Cons

The mobile app is a bit difficult to navigate as a shop owner side. Other than that it's a very easy program to use.

I tried all of them. All the APPs for the rostering on line. I used to swap from app to the other every 4 months. When I found Deputy I didn't change anymore. Simply fantastic. My staff love it very much. I have to be honest. I wasn't sure between Deputy and When I Work but after the two last updates Deputy is absolutely the best one. Try it... and you will understand.

Pros

User friendly, push notifications, good resolution for iPhone 6 plus, communications between staff.

Cons

price, no "sort by employees" on the scheduling view (i miss so much this kind of view).

Over all my experience has been great, the last couple weeks have gone smoothly and I would recommend this software to anyone.

Pros

I really like this software for taking time. It is very accurate and if your management takes the time to enter it, you can see your scheduled shifts far in advance. I have only been using this for a couple weeks but it seems to be a great improvement on the software we used to use.

Cons

I really have to reach for a con but maybe it would be nice if they put a clock on your screen that gave you live updates on your time. That way you can clearly see how long you have been working without having to try to figure it out. Also it is probably a fault on our end, but the address for my work shows a location in a totally different state, but I am pretty sure I know how to get to work.

I love that I can create templates and create notes on each shift for specific tasks that day. It helps my employees know what to expect and foresee how their week will go.

Cons

I wish I could adjust all shifts for a particular employee, instead of changing the times individually.

Faster scheduling

Pros

I like that I can easily copy the schedule from week to week and then just fill in the few blanks from RO's. I have been able to keep a fairly consistent schedule and my employees appreciate it.

Cons

The fact that unless I personally update everyone's unavailability, they can not just to it themselves and have it be approved or unapproved. People would be able to change when they are available without me ever knowing.

I like all the data deputy keeps track of. You can easily track employees hours and find out exactly when they clocked in/out, took breaks and so much more.

Cons

Occasional trouble logging in but may be from bad internet connection. I have had very little issues with deputy.

The scheduling features, clocking in and out (especially with location services), communication with team capabilities, and overall polished interface are so well thought out and executed. I researched several different software and apps, but this one really checked a lot of boxes for our small business.

Pros

We moved to Deputy from our previous HR management software because it had become too expensive.Deputy's pricing is second to none. The time clock feature is very useful for our company.

Cons

The only issue I still have with the app is its inability to have several different pay rates for each person. Our company offers several different "jobs" that people can claim, but each job has its specific pay rate. When it comes to payroll, it would be nice to be able to select which payrate that employee is being paid for each shift/or position.

Saves me a lot of time.

Pros

The app to clock in and out is my favorite part about Deputy. I like that employees can check their schedules from wherever, but I can limit where they can clock in.

Cons

I don't like the time off tracker very much. It feels overly complicated. It really doesn't help track accruals or holiday days very well. I wish it did everything. I also wish it connected with my payroll software - Benefit Mall Pay Focus. I also HATE that when you fire an employee, you have to delete all their open shifts first. If I am getting picky, sometimes customer service isn't very helpful. At least on the online chat. They never seem to know what I am talking about when I am asking questions. I have to screenshot and describe in way too much detail what the problem is.

The accessibility the ease of associates being able to clock in and out on their mobile phones. Approving time sheets is also quickly done.

Cons

No way of tracking accrued PTO - You would have to integrate with another system so we are currently having to track this manually.

Pros

This software is very easy to use! I was able to add in approximately 150 shifts within a about 30 minutes. My staff also loves to use it!

Cons

I don't like how slow notifications come in. If someone is late to sign in, it notifies you a couple minutes - 10 minutes after.

Pros

Probably one of the best scheduling/staffing apps out there organizing my company's staffing, scheduling and payroll.The scheduling features, clocking in and out (especially with location services), communication with team capabilities, and overall polished interface are so well thought out and done.

Scheduling features are great, export functionality makes the job easier

Cons

Horrible customer service- one agent had so much attitude that it was unbelievable. Also, the API/zapier integrations are not perfect so it gets hard to automate export of data/timesheets
