November 17, 2017 5.0 Pros I can keep track of my employees time sheets, vacation use, and make easy, quick journal entries with out the paper mess. I save time each payperiod, I love the organization Cons I would like a notification flag that an employee has changed their time clock entry. It takes too much time to go to every employee- everyday and check their history and comments. Just put a flag on their time card when they change so I only have to check that one entry. I used to swap from app to the other every 4 months. When I found Deputy I didn't change anymore. Simply fantastic. My staff love it very much. I have to be honest. I wasn't sure between Deputy and When I Work but after the two last updates Deputy is absolutely the best one. Try it... and you will understand. Pros User friendly, push notifications, good resolution for iPhone 6 plus, communications between staff. Cons price, no "sort by employees" on the scheduling view (i miss so much this kind of view). Maintenance Technician Facilities Services Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Keeping time made easy" February 6, 2019 5.0 Over all my experience has been great, the last couple weeks have gone smoothly and I would recommend this software to anyone. Pros I really like this software for taking time. It is very accurate and if your management takes the time to enter it, you can see your scheduled shifts far in advance. I have only been using this for a couple weeks but it seems to be a great improvement on the software we used to use. Cons I really have to reach for a con but maybe it would be nice if they put a clock on your screen that gave you live updates on your time. That way you can clearly see how long you have been working without having to try to figure it out. Also it is probably a fault on our end, but the address for my work shows a location in a totally different state, but I am pretty sure I know how to get to work. Review Source RC Ryan C. April 23, 2018 4.0 Faster scheduling Pros I like that I can easily copy the schedule from week to week and then just fill in the few blanks from RO's. I have been able to keep a fairly consistent schedule and my employees appreciate it. Cons The fact that unless I personally update everyone's unavailability, they can not just to it themselves and have it be approved or unapproved. I researched several different software and apps, but this one really checked a lot of boxes for our small business. Pros We moved to Deputy from our previous HR management software because it had become too expensive.Deputy's pricing is second to none. The time clock feature is very useful for our company. Cons The only issue I still have with the app is its inability to have several different pay rates for each person. Our company offers several different "jobs" that people can claim, but each job has its specific pay rate. When it comes to payroll, it would be nice to be able to select which payrate that employee is being paid for each shift/or position. Review Source GM Gina M. November 16, 2017 5.0 Saves me a lot of time. Pros The app to clock in and out is my favorite part about Deputy. I like that employees can check their schedules from wherever, but I can limit where they can clock in. Cons I don't like the time off tracker very much. It feels overly complicated. It really doesn't help track accruals or holiday days very well. I wish it did everything. I also wish it connected with my payroll software - Benefit Mall Pay Focus. I also HATE that when you fire an employee, you have to delete all their open shifts first. If I am getting picky, sometimes customer service isn't very helpful. At least on the online chat.
