### "Deputy timeclock software review"

Deputy has most of the functionality we are looking for in a timeclock application. Our employees find it easy to use, and the punch details easily export to our payroll system.

Pros

Managers can see the schedule and current punch-in information, and communicate with the whole staff through the app. This allows supervisors to keep track of who is working, and quickly make scheduling changes as needed.

Cons

When employee enters a punch that overlaps with a time off request, the kiosk doesn't log the punch or notify the employee that there is an issue. This can be frustrating when, for example, an employee returns early from a doctor's appointment, thinks they have punched in, but their supervisor finds out when approving timesheets that the punch was not logged.

Overall, my experience with Deputy has been very positive. Deputy is really easy to use and saves a lot of time. I especially like the mobile app and how simple it is to manage schedules and shifts. I liked how user-friendly and intuitive Deputy is. It makes scheduling shifts, tracking hours, and managing team availability really simple. The ability for employees to swap shifts and communicate within the app also improves team coordination

Cons

At times, certain features aren’t very intuitive, especially for new users. It can take some time to fully understand all the tools and settings. I wish there was a different view for monthly schedules as well.

My experience with Deputy has been positive. It has made managing shifts and staying updated much easier. It’s a helpful tool for both staff and managers, even though there are small areas that could be improved.

Pros

Deputy makes scheduling very easy and organised. It’s simple to use, and I like how I can see my shifts clearly and get updates quickly. It also helps with communication between staff and management, which makes work smoother.

Cons

Sometimes the app can be a bit slow or glitchy, especially when trying to load shifts. Also, some features are not very clear at first and take time to understand.

Average. Needs to improve sales team and support by a mile. They got potential but losing because of their crappy CS.

Pros

It is easy to sue once set up. Setup takes a while and their sales or support is very lackluster and the CS is very slow.

Cons

Slow CS and they are not very knowledgeable. I end up setting up from other users. It is very hard to get answers.

I used it operationally for a few years and found it easy and functional. Its very easy to make basic changes to scheduling and do timesheet approvals from a phone.

Pros

Detailed functionality makes it ideal for most aspects of managing staff scheduling, timekeeping, and outputting to payroll. Easy to use by employees.

Cons

Once in a while, employees would have issues with the app, but this would be temporary, possibly to do with connectivity on the devices. Its not the cheapest option if you have a lot of staff doing few hours, as its a per user subscription I think.

Initially Deputy met our busi ess needs but as we grey it could not keep up necessitating us to switch providers.

Pros

Super easy interface for employees to use but feature add did not keep up with competitors in the market considering the price point

Cons

Integration with Xero was limiting to ensure payrol was run correctly without errors. Sometimes very slow to load.

I personally never had any issues using deputy my company just decided to switch softwares to match what others building in the company were using.

Pros

Easy to use software for clocking in and out for employees. Simple for admin users to make adjustments needed.

Cons

When my team used it the time clock did not sync up with the app perfectly and sometimes was a bit of a lag.

Very good. Used hourly at our company. Web based is essential for travelling crews, which is great for the office.

Pros

That I could schedule my employees and process payroll from one program. Fees are very affordable and the program is web based.

Cons

I do not like how it is mainly for restaurant industry; you should be able to choose your industry. Also, the app is glitchy sometimes.

I initially started using it with multiple locations and numerous desk staff in 2017. We shut it down during the pandemic and relaunched it with one location and only a few staff. It has never let me down.

Pros

Deputy makes it easy to schedule my team and keep them up to date with minimal effort. Staff are notified whenever schedule changes are made to their schedules. They can clock in and out via the app or on their computers. Geo restrictions keep them honest.

Cons

It balks when I try to schedule hourly workers more than 8 hours per day, especially when copying this week's schedule to next week. I'm sure I can configure it but I haven't spent the time.

the ease of use. very easy for all my crew to use each day. love the pin drops so you can see where crew are clocking on and off

nothing, it is really easy for everyone to use and simply but yet great design. love it can say a bad thing about it

Deputy is easy to use, you can cut/paste schedules, it has a cost analysis and easily integrates into an number of payroll systems. Would love if they built out the platform more though so they had chat etc.

Easy to schedule, people can confirm shifts, shows cost analysis.

Cons

Limited functionality - We use it for scheduling only. Although I see the have a new HR function. Other systems like Connecteam have more functions and are generally cheaper.

Before Deputies software, we were using 3 different software to have the same functions that we have with the Deputy, paying much more to have different things and not unified way of working. What I most like about it, it is the fact that it merges different function, it is very useful and incredible how it literality serves to different areas of my company from HR with the job descriptions to the managers to better understanding the time management and the scheduling of work. I really recommend it.

Pros

The software is amazing due to the amount of things you can do with it, from organize the company schedules - saving time and money and helping, until creating very efficient work schedule as much as time tracking and management help.

Cons

Until now my coworkers and I have no things to complain about it.

Deputy is very useful specially for business who has a casual employees, contractors or under agencies with shift to shift pay basis. You can manage your people wisely from the term itself, deputy rostering management.

Pros

Deputy links timesheets to payroll system. Also, you can keep track with lates, absences, time offs, and most importantly the timesheet approvals before finalising shifts for payroll.

Cons

I didn’t like the view of the scheduling if you have multiple locations or areas. But it’s very minimal. The prior view before the latest update was better in my own perspective. Also, I didn’t like the leave options available to manually input the times starts and ends, instead of just inputting the total hours of the day.

Pros

It is user friendly, allows for accurate time tracking and also it is mobile friendly. I can easily clock on and off for shifts and communicate with my team.

Cons

Not the best for remote employees as the app is location-based. Can be tricky coordinating employees in different time zones.

Deputy has an insane amount of features that help with the management of a business, but we mostly use it for our schedules and shifts, which has worked amazingly because the platform allows you to work quickly and in a simplified manner. It has also helped us in decreasing our costs regarding wages because we are able to plan our shifts according to our sales and make sure that we are scheduling our staff in the right time. It has helped us improve our communication and it's an effective product to save time and approve simple things like day-off requests without directly communicating with a team leader.

Pros

Deputy is an intuitive tool and it's one of my favorites because it can build many schedules in a matter of minutes and not have you forget essential aspects like employee skills, costs, and locations. The platform is available to all our teams and that also means that when someone can't make it, another employee is able to immediately swap shifts with them without going through the process of making calls, but I'm also able to pick them based on skills. Deputy also considers the legal parameters and makes sure that everything is on the right track, taking in consideration paid breaks, vacation, and premium pay. Lastly, I like the recent addition of Artificial Intelligence into the schedule maker because it creates almost-perfect schedules with the right amount of members taking into account the costs associated.

Cons

My only issue with this software has got to be the mobile application, it has too many bugs and it's quite an inconvenience to use even though it should be useful for when we're not using our desktops. The app sometimes freezes randomly when using, especially when wanting to start a shift, and overall, it's a very slow app, when clicking on any function it will take ages to load the information, I wish this was improved as soon as possible because I want to be able to use the app without worrying.

This is a great tool for scheduling that prevents confusion and makes the workplace feel more fair and interconnected.

Pros

Deputy makes communication, scheduling, payroll budgeting, and so much more wicked easy! The mobile app and website allow for there to be no communication, and everyone has access anytime they need or want. Leave management is also a lot easier!

Cons

Sometimes the leave accrual can be a little difficult to set up properly, requiring some reconciliation between our payroll provider and it's figures. I wish they had a working integration with Paychex that didn't require paying Paychex. Some staff have difficulty receiving push notifications, but there are also texts and email notification, and the interface can be a little confusing for first time users. The automations for scheduling are difficult to set up and usually don't work with complex scheduling requirements.
