I really enjoy that I can get an answer to my questions anytime - or at least try to. Most of my issues have been resolved just by utilizing the customer service chat through Deputy. I will continue to use this avenue of communication.

Pros

Easy to use, a lot of different uses to this as well

Pros

The great transition between desktop and mobile app. This gives the team good exposure on their schedule although they can struggle to find who has done previous shifts in the past.

Cons

The only way to see individual unavailability is to go into their profile which is a tedious process. Its not possible to click on the day and have this information when you are creating a shift.

Pros

Awesome time saving system that has really modernised our business. Really looking forward to using it more & what it will do to help increase efficiencies in my business unit.

Cons

Compass Group NZ Ltd have not released to us the whole package to make us really agile. The package we have is still awesome and better than what we have.

Pros

Job costing, it is really effective for booking in to our system. Also, we are using News feeds quite often when we sharing whole site souring materials and extra staff members.

Cons

Adding entire jobs to employee easliy.. not one by one. We are construction industry with multiple work sites, but when new employee came, it is time consuming for allocate all jobs to one emplyee.

Easy to track your working hours , list your tasts, share messages, etc. I have it on my Samsung Note 4, and it is working great!

Pros

I can use it on my cell phone an enter my working hours, where I am working (away or not), etc. I can add comments . Alerts when something seems odd with times entered

Cons

If I forgot to enter my shift, I can add it at night but I made a few mistakes by selecting AM or PM.

Pros

Ease of adding in shifts, the way it looks. forwarding the locations and shifts directly to the engineers via push notification is cool

Cons

Locations - when you add a location and you have many of them it comes up with a code on the shifts, its difficult to work out which site is which when you have 20+ of them shifts don't all show up in the app for all locations

We are only using this software for time tracking (not scheduling) and we have a small set of folks that need to track their hours, so this was perfect for us at $2.50/user/month

Pros

This app is fairly inexpensive in comparison to other time tracking software for the basics. They do have other features, our team just did not need them. It gets the job done for tracking our hourly employees across the US and syncs easily to our Payroll software, Rippling.

Cons

You have to pay for admins, managers or approvers even if they are not tracking their own hours.

Has not only saved time with scheduling and payroll, but has provided greater insight and centralized communication with our workforce.

Pros

The product, both mobile and web, is intuitive, easy to use and is supported by 24/7 online experts.

Cons

Although the mobile app is effective and easy to use, it doesn't quite have all of the administrative functionality that exists within the web app.

Cancelling shifts and the system not sending a notification out to staff. System administrator not able to view all notifications.

Pros

I like the fact that the employees can see them shift just by the phone and the app add it to the calendary. The communication also improved.

Cons

The smart way that the system memorizes my shifts and also blocks the day when someone asked for holidays. Like this I don't make mistakes anymore.

I was intimidated by using the scheduling feature and initially planned on just using the time tracking. Once deputy imported my spreadsheet schedule into the web, I was sold on the benefits of using the schedule in addition to the time tracking. For someone like myself who struggles with scheduling, deputy makes it so much easier, and it allows my employees to always have the same, current schedule so that we are all on the same page. It also saves me so much time when i need to approve time sheets. Being able to view actual hours v scheduled hours in the same pane makes approving hours a breeze. And exporting hours into my payroll program directly also saves time. Thanks deputy.

This program makes scheduling a breeze. I have over 100 staff members working in over 40 positions and the drag-and-drop aspect, along with the ability to pre-set parameters for shifts, makes scheduling so easy. I like being able to see the holes in my schedule as well as highlighting each person to see when and where I've got them working. Being able to see their currently scheduled hours at a glance is wonderful as well. Using this system has put me a week ahead of our typical time-line for creating the summer schedule, when we were doing it on an Excel spreadsheet, and that's with spending HALF the time on it! I'm thrilled, my boss is thrilled - overall, a fantastic system to use.

Pros

Easy to use and make time sheets and payroll a lot easier to manage. Communication with customer support is fast and efficient. We are able to track clock in / out times for our employees a lot better since using Deputy.

Cons

Sometimes the location is not accurate and the software does not allow you to pre-set daily rates (ie. for travel) ..

Pros

the Contact feature. I can select the employee and then contact them directly as needed. Great for multiple facility use.

Cons

I want ability to post numerous amounts of same shift repeatedly in a few steps, not having to copy and paste for each day, maybe I can choose shifts to copy as well as multiple days of the week.

Direct solution, excellent Customer Support, friendly view, really saves your time management on running a team schedule.

Cons

Tasks management are really bellow the average. And when you change a shift the program could ask if the same change should apply to future shifts on the same date and time

Pros

Super simple to use. Functionality is above fair. Price point is reasonable. There are some improvements that need to be made.

Cons

\- Can't copy shift from day to day? Why not? - Schedule printout is microscopic. Why? Could really do without the endless running dialog boxes that appear to tell me a bunch of stuff that's not really useful.

Time saving, transparency of which staff worked

Pros

The deputy software is easy to use and the ability to quickly send notifications for vacant shifts has proved very time saving for staff

Cons

This con may be related to lack of knowledge but sometimes staff who are already working can pick up a vacant shift which has caused a few glitches our rostering

A very, very good time scheduling tool, but our tiny team needed something simpler and cheaper.

Pros

Deputy offers a TON of time organization features and would be a great attendance/scheduling tool for many companies.

Cons

Ultimately, Deputy wasn't right for our very small team because we just needed a clock in/out tool for 2-3 contractors. Features like geodetection and face recognition were super cool, but not needed for our remote team. We also didn't need the scheduling or break planning features, since contractors work on their own schedule.

Easy scheduling - great visibility for workers

Pros

Easy to use, intuitive, reasonably priced, good tool for communicating, easy for workers to put shifts out for grabs, easy to schedule unavailability, nice dashboard.

Cons

I have had some difficulty getting it to transfer directly to my QB online account - but that may be user error on my part.

Pros

Easy scheduling and communication between staff. I like that the employees can take ownership of getting their shifts cover and swapping them out.

Cons

If you accidentally delete on the scheduled shift instead of "X" closing out you have lost the shift.

Deputy is great! It makes scheduling and communicating with my staff super easy. I only have two (minor) complaints. One is, the deputy team doesn't always take the time to understand what Im asking. They copy and paste answers that are similar to what I need to know, but not exactly what I am looking for. The second is there is not an option to organize exported timesheets by last name.

As a new business owner, Deputy has helped keep my employees organized and made payroll a breeze. With such a steep learning curve when opening a business, it was nice to have Deputy to simplify having employees.

Pros

Ease of use, keeping track of payroll, allowing employees to mark off days they can't work

Cons

The iPad version does not let me do everything that you can do online
