Pros

The import and export function are good. It can also be linked with other software. Straight forward to use, and very easy to access the customer support, no manual needed.

Cons

functions like leave type, public holiday, pay code, etc are quite standardised, not very specialised for New Zealand scheduling/payroll rules.

Streamlined scheduling and schedule planning. Easy to understand shift planning at a glance on your smart phone.

Pros

I love the fact that all of my employees have an app on their phone that they can pull up their schedule at any time.

Cons

No Cons to speak of with this software. I have more problems with my employees than I do with the Deputy Software.

Ease in scheduling a lot of employees at once.

Pros

Ease of scheduling large amounts of employees and pleasant to look at. I like that it alerts me when a team member is late.

Cons

Not taking into consideration the lunch scheduled in overall time. Sometimes it appears and employee is going into overtime when in actuality they are not.

Pros

It allows me to see multiple locations at once and access scheduling needs. The reports that come through are also wildly helpful in forecasting weekly needs.

Cons

We are a service company and I havent found a good way to put our sales into this software so I have to run side analysis in addition to the reports provided.

Easy timekeeping and communication.

Pros

I like the dashboard to be able to communicate to the employees and the additional task lists help for tracking.

Cons

I dislike how the tasks pop up in a separate window and they are listed all together. It would be nice if you could see a separate list for each person tasks are assigned to.

Deputy has been the best in delivering their promises. Their interface is amazing and simple to use. Each and every person cares about your company and focused on how they can assist you. My company is seasonal, but I will without a doubt come back to Deputy. They make it easy to pick up wherr you left off. Thank you Deputy for being a part of my team. Hands down, Deputy is the best.

Saves a lot of time managing rosters. Saves money by allowing staff to clock off early. very easy to use .

Pros

It saves so much time compared to our previous methods. Allowing staff to manage their own shift swaps is great.

Cons

Not being able to approve leave requests on the mobile app. It's only a small niggle, the rest of the app is brilliant

Great App to move around in. Great colors, bright app and adaptable. My basic computer still work OK with this system.

Cons

Would like to be able to access more info on my phone. Limit info in some sections. Would like a free phone contact to be able to chat to someone at times

Pros

The ease of use and the backup support. Support is available just by sending an online message. Usually someone gets back to you within 5 minutes.

Cons

I find the integration to Xero to be a bit of a pain at times but I think this could be more to do with the rigidity of Xero rather than Deputy

I can process this from home, the office, or out and about on my phone. It keeps track of the shift expenses and team member availability.

Cons

Someone didn't put us onto this years ago. We could have done away with the archaic system that we did have.

The customer service is by far the best I've encountered. I have used the chat option many times and the tech support is awesome.

Cons

Some of the features are not easy to find and sometimes I need to reach out to tech support. However the tech support team is very helpful

Really happy with Deputy and the amount of time and money it has saved our organisation. Our writing and managing rotas for casual staff is much easier, we have saved a lot of hours inputting and checking payroll data and our staff are all happy to use it to swap/offer shifts amongst themselves and communicate through the message board. The support team are very helpful and answer queries quickly and efficiently. We have only been using Deputy for 3 months so can't comment yet on how they handle customer feedback, but if future updates include features that I don't imagine I am the only business asking for, then I'll be even happier.

Creating rosters and keeping track of employees shift hours and unavailability was a task I dreaded more than anything in my business. When I discovered Deputy it was such a relief and my time building rosters has been cut to a fraction and is so straightforward to use. It also gives me very useful data, is so easy to make shift/staff alterations. Deputy makes it so simple to communicate with our staff and they love using it. It makes them feel very included in the business. Deputy has become a vital tool in the running of our business. Although it is fairly easy to set up and function, any difficulties are promptly met and answered.

Pros

All the built in functionality, such as - allowing you to see total labour cost for the week, unavailability and leave features.

Cons

None to mention. Although, a short training video etc. for new staff may be useful for the non-tech savvy.

Cons

Having difficulty with the settings , I need to put it onebyone instead of default settings must be applied. Or maybe it’s just for security purposes.

When my boss announced that we would use an electronic app to do rostering I was distraught , I didn't want to learn a new system ! Why reinvent the wheel !! But he is the boss right ! So, we did it , and , it's been a real eye opener ! The software is so user friendly and easy to use ! What a pleasure , I'd never look back to that old excel spread sheet with all the rows of colors and so on ... And Even better - I've found that the staff actually love it too ... It's like Facebook just for our company . We can post about our achievements at work without looking like nerds on our real Facebook lol Awesome app - try it !

Pros

Easy to use. Simple to prepare and alter rosters and fill shifts at short notice. Can quickly teach someone else to use the software.

Cons

That to print rosters you need to change the format and program to print them. That you can't alter employees information, they need to do it themselves.
