Had the easiest-to-use interface and was easily accessible on phones /tablets /computers etc. Ran into limitation issues with other hardware.

Very good. We have fully understood the Hr side and the onboarding as well as th uploading of personal documents. Schedule and rota writing is very smart.

Pros

Scheduling and onboarding is very good. We also started to use the insights and sales forecast which proves to be a very useful tool.

Cons

Payroll reports don’t show what I need. It would be good to develop timesheet reports. I am currently calculating manually the split between holiday hours and worked hours.

Very easy to learn, makes scheduling easier and more efficient. Ability to make templates and copy onto next shifts.

Cons

Access level, an inbetween level for Location Manager & Supervisor would be great. Being able to set a total hour allocation per location per week would be great

It started out great but I am not sure that I would recommend the software anymore.

Pros

The software is very easy to use and the scheduling dashboard gives great visibility.

Cons

The integrity of the timesheets cannot be trusted and sometimes support doesn't know how to help you. We have overpaid our employees by thousands of dollars due to Deputy calculating overtime improperly based on the settings selected.

Reason for choosing Deputy

ADP recommended it.

What we like most about this software is the ease of clocking in and out and tracking our employees locations.

Cons

We like almost everything about Deputy besides how it and ADP integrate. We are still trying to figure out how to connect the two.

I love being able to see my employees' overall availability a week at a time, which makes scheduling so much easier. It would be helpful if System Administrators received a notification when a User changed their availability so I could continue to stay ahead of the schedule and be able to maneuver my team better. I do appreciate the ease of scheduling. It's not such a beast anymore!

Pros

Deputy has been a saving grace when it comes to writing schedules. I love the ease of saving locations and being able to house all of my employees' unavailability information in on place. What used to be a beast and take me anywhere from 3-5 hours to complete now can take me 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on staffing changes. Customer service is excellent, especially when setting up your account and being able to decide if Deputy is the best product for your company's use.

Cons

I wish the interface for System Administrators on the mobile application was more user friendly. With my work being partially field based, it would be super helpful to be able to manipulate scheduled on the go instead of needing to use a computer to solidify schedule changes. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this product.

Ease of reporting time. The ease of requesting and approving time off for employees. Helps us recognize employees birthdays, and much more.

Pros

Easy of reporting, and requesting changes to schedules. The set up is very easy and adding or deleting people from the program takes nothing. The fact that Deputy holds all employees information even after they have been discharged and deleted is a big plus. It enables HR administrators the ability to go back and retrieve information easily.

Cons

Some of the features are not easy to figure out, not totally intuitive, but with training it evens out.

ease of scheduling across a large organization

Pros

for basic scheduling, it works as expected, and I enjoy using it. I like the ability to bulk unassign shifts, and have shifts autofill, though I wish I could select which groups I can autofill from.

Cons

There are numerous holes - not being able to bulk confirm notifications, not being able to bulk delete an agents shifts, unable to turn off email and text alerts for shift openings by person. My conversations with customer support have not been great as all I get are canned answers and people aren't reading my questions

As a company that provides rapid response (24/7) labour hire to Mines & Industrial clients, it is essential that we can advise staff of their shifts quickly & accurately. We can have up to 3 roster changes per day (for 22 staff) and are currently saving up to 11hrs per week in admin time just by adopting the rostering & timesheet features of Deputy. Couldn't survive without this program!

Pros

Easy to set-up with no costly IT service visits. Being a free app removes any hesitation by staff to adopt this software. Can immediately advise staff of last minute shift changes and they can advise of their availability to HR (preventing any clashes)

Cons

Don't seem to be able to approve timesheets from HR mobile phone app anymore.

Reason for choosing Deputy

Deputy was the easiest to implement for management & staff. With staff ranging in age from 18-62 we needed something that would not overwhelm the technologically challenged. Being able to move away from paper timesheets to digital has meant that our payroll manager is no longer restricted to 'in person' timesheet collections and can continue to process payroll even when outside Australia.

Pros

Deputy allows us to easily and accurately record employee time clock data. Deputy also integrates with our point of sale software (Vend) to provide information such as labor percentages and predicted sales for the month. Scheduling is also a snap with this software. We use it to schedule 7 employees across 2 separate locations.

Cons

The only thing I dislike about Deputy is how long it takes to load the app when I am trying to clock in or out. Once it loads up and finds my location it works just fine, but that initial load time is killer.

Working for a City Government Organization, we installed deputy.com to replace our outdated and expensive Kronos solution. Deputy being a cloud based system, helped us to deploy and test more rapidly then installing a local on premise solution. The Integration staff and Owner of the company were involved with our go live and were amazing. They continue to speak with us and help us though issues that come up. Deputy.com is well worth the money and they integrate with most major cloud based payroll systems. Their IPAD kiosk app for clock-in/out is the best out of all the other company demos we tried as well. Easy to deploy and manage and they continue to work out bugs and issues as they come up. They are very quick to acknowledge a problem and work on a fix.

Pros

iPAD Kiosks iPhone/Droid Apps for staff Cloud based Beautiful Interface to schedule Easy to use Tons of features

Cons

Works best in Google Chrome. IE and Firefox is buggy. Automatic features that affect time entry don't always work as described. No formal training documentation, only help web guides.

Absolutely wouldn't use anything else!

Pros

So easy to roster people in appropriate areas, ensure you have the right amount of cover, and let everyone knows what their shifts are. Logging on and off shift is quick and easy, and the phone app is wonderful for offering out shifts to be covered at short notice.

Cons

24/7 online help is good, sometimes there are communication difficulties because of the intricacies of the Australian awards system. However, having an account manager I can book a remote training or consultation session with is awesome!!
