Pros

Deputy is super easy to use, both on mobile and desktop. It saves us time on scheduling and payroll and our employees love being able to view their schedule and request days off through the application in just a few clicks.

Cons

I would like to see more customizable features as far as how overtime and stat pay is calculated - such as the use of averaging agreements

Pros

Scheduling is complicated and the data entry process can be tedious, but with the "Copy Shifts" function, entry is made easy and editing is simple. A great tool for time management. App driven for seamless integration with employee mobile devices, schedule at the ready and employees can set alerts, push to calendar, notifications, etc. to their liking. The dashboard is pretty snazzy and clear. Export timesheet function makes payroll a breeze.

Cons

At present, I have not come across much I did not like, how ever, when exporting timesheet the calendar function does not always default to the current pay period. It seems to default to some odd dates. I am not sure what is causing that as we had set our parameters. Support Chat is good, but sometimes a phone call is necessary.

Pros

Easy to search for shift by employee, Easy to make templates and load templates.

Cons

Cannot filter locations, can be slow to load, Supervisor notifications go to the wrong person.

While using it in organization i had fantastic experience with this marvelous solution.

Pros

The best employee scheduling tool that is really easy to use. The great ultimate workforce manager. It is web based advance technology. The most thing I liked about Deputy it is really inexpensive than the other products available in the market. If I talk about the feature they are no doubt remarkable. By using it communication becomes easier. I love the team and support services of this tool that is responsive. Interface is superb.

Cons

There is nothing to tell about the cons. It is a little difficult to let the new staff know about the use of this tool. I do not mean that it is not easy. I do say it user-friendly use product. It has the super functionality.

I have not had any positive experience with Deputy besides the robotic generic response in the chatbot be delivered in a timely manner.

Pros

Nothing at this stage, the Xero integration is broken and the team are unresponsive to solve the issue! Pathetic customer service. I need this software for the Xero integration and they can't help me resolve the problem.

Cons

Promises easy Xero integration, however from my experience it is broken and does not function correctly. The promised data transfers are not available to me and the customer service team provide pathetic generic responses to my request to assist with a resolution. I currently wouldn't recommend this software to anyone.

In my view, Deputy has an easy-to-use interface that simplifies the process of creating and managing schedules, and I especially highlight the mobile app, which allows our employees to access their schedules and clock in easily. I think Deputy is a solid tool for workforce management, especially for companies that focus on scheduling and timekeeping.

Cons

Some users may find the pricing to be on the higher side, especially for larger teams or businesses with complex scheduling requirements.

Coming from a background in IT I was very impressed with the product. It is top notch. What really sets it apart is the support. I wish all software companies had the support. 24/7 chat support with knowledgeable, professional and friendly people.

Pros

Support - staff went above and beyond helping me with every aspect of the software. It would make it very easy for a non technical person who is comfortable with chat support to get down and dirty with the software. Usability - the learning curve for my staff is not steep at all and even the non tech savvy folks were able to get on board. Any bumps in the road were ironed out by the excellent support. Openess - I look forward to leveraging the API that the software exposes. It will help me automate tasks such as tip calculation at the end of the evening saving me hours a week.

Overall, I love the platform and their app. Way better than most I have tried.

Pros

The ease of use for both myself and my staff.

Cons

Sometimes hard to figure out different pay areas. No way to track staff during on-call situations, so we had to figure out a work around

Saved time and now I can schedule my employees easily and quickly! My employees enjoy using the dashboard, as well.

Pros

I like the easy to use dashboard (although some issues have arisen and it's just their platform, not user error) the information on all employees is really helpful and extensive. The integration with my payroll processing software is amazing! It really saves me a lot of time to just approve the hours and then send to my payroll for payments.

Cons

I've had a couple of issues with the hours not resetting and it was an error with their system. They told me a good way to get around it but I don't think they're going to fix that issue. It's fine because it hasn't happened a lot and once I've gotten around it, I can handle it but I'd like to know that their development team is continuing to improve on their software.

Smooth and good experience

Pros

The fact that its very easy to customize and assign shifts to appropriate staff who are then able to receive notifications on their phones and PCs. Deputy's customer support is also quite good.

Cons

I found that navigating at first through the web based application tends to be a bit difficult and it also does't offer a range of colors for tagging different shifts.

Easy for timesheets and scheduling- saves me time.

Pros

It's easy for my staff to clock in and out on a computer or their phones. It's easy for me to set a schedule

Cons

From what we can tell it doesn't calculate overtime by state laws, so I have to calculate that by hand instead of importing that into our payroll software.

The ease of knowing schedules for my remote staff are set and ready to go is wonderful. I don't have to text team members with their schedules or guess at how many hours each team member is receiving or how much it will cost per week.

Pros

Deputy is easy to use and easy to monitor my remote employees. It is easy to see if employees clocked in on time or if shifts were covered.

Cons

I would like an access level between employee and supervisor. An access level that can create schedules but not approve time-sheets.

easy scheduling, great communication with my staff and the ability for my staff to drop shifts, switch shifts of take an open shift.

Pros

My staff and I really like the communication in the news feed, the ability to post PDF and images as needed to all my staff as I use it for my Staff Memos. I also like the ability for them to 'confirm' the message after they have read it. Having the chance to edit the start time of a shift is also helpful as sometimes you forget to log in and it can be adjusted.

Cons

It doesn't show the amount of hours scheduled in a day at the bottom like other software I have previously used. (When I work) and it also doesn't let you type large amounts of text in the news feed.You have to send multiple messages or upload a word document. Users have also complained that they can't view what the full shift times are of other staff working, just the start times of other people. It would also be nice to have multiple people able to log in on the same computer at once. currently one person has to log off before the other can log in.

Pros

I really liked the look of the app, and ability to drag and drop folks into the schedule. The integration with BambooHR was a requirement for me, and Deputy is one of the few that integrates directly. I really like the communication feature - I can send out announcements and force my staff to "acknowledge" it, so I can prove/know that someone read something. Love that, as we are 24/7 operations across three locations (four if you count my remote staff member in Japan). What else would I do? I cannot be everywhere at once.

Cons

It took me a bit to learn how it all worked - but the Deputy staff has some intense, regular training opportunities and a really responsive tech support team, so if I can do it, you can.

Pros

I like the ease of use. The affordability. The geo-location is great. I like how I can track each person's hours for each job they are working on.

Cons

I wish it would check in on locations periodically, not just when people sign on and off. It would also be good to have better integrations into payroll tools. When using for contractors, it doesn't seem to connect with anything (neither gusto nor square work with contractors and deputy).

Customer support was amazing through the whole process. I find they tried their best to keep in touch EVERY week to see how we were doing with the app and what we needed help learning.

Pros

Deputy was super easy to use and learn as an administrator of the app when it came to creating my employees schedules and creating timesheets. I really enjoyed the different roles and location features that existed within the app to separate and categorize my retail stores staff by training and the outlets they worked at.

Cons

Unfortunately the learning curve with my employees trying to use the app to clock in and properly edit their timesheets became tedious and time consuming which made it very hard to implement.

### "What they sold me was not what l got!"

Terrible Waste of valuable money and time.

Pros

Sales team in Sydney are good. Looked easy for my sub contractors to use Price per user was reasonable

Cons

Once you buy the product you speak to overseas people that don’t understand the product or give you different information from the sakes team. If you need a client database it goes in under location but causes lots of issue’s. You cant see if the sub contractors have accepted the job you have posted. No confirmation in calendar at all. Communication is terrible and the product doesn’t do what they sold it to me on. If you are running a services business specifically cleaning be careful. Complete waste of time and money. Btw there geo fencing needs an overhaul.

Reason for choosing Deputy

Thought it was more straight forward and simpler to use.

### "A Must Have Scheduling Tool"

Pros

In a unique transportation market, we have over 150 employees with ever changing schedules, and only a select amount of tools that can be used. Deputy helps us schedule correctly, and in turn, helps our employees get the shifts that they want. We send out email blasts with open shifts, and let them claim them. It makes the process much easier, and everyone involved is happier.

Cons

At this price point, I can't think of any negatives.

### "Zero Customer Support"

Their customer service is non existent. The platform is slow and often glitches. We will be moving across to a different platform as quickly as possible.

Pros

The rostering system mostly works well, when it's not glitching.

Cons

There is zero customer support. When things go wrong (and they often do) you have to find your own way out of it.They charge you for staff that you aren't even payrolling. We were told if we archived these staff, we wouldn't have to pay for them. But then we found out that's not true, and were charged for them anyway.Their prices have also increasing, despite customer services decreasing to a point where this system is no longer a viable option.

Reason for choosing Deputy

I didn't, but I have now chosen an alternative to replace it with!

My overall experience was good, we've since moved to a new tool.

Pros

Deputy can be integrated with payroll and other accounting systems which allows you to work smart not hard. It shows your assigned tasks and their status and it allows you add a newsfeed to staff can stay in the loop. Another great thing I liked about Deputy was, it sends emails to let you know when shifts are available so you can claim additional shifts if you wish.

Cons

As an end user, I found no obvious issues with the tool. It did what it was supposed to do.

Pros

Simplicity in its use. I also enjoy the ease of inputting employees into the system and the ease of placing employees into shifts. Its quite easy to use and its functionality is great throughout all levels of use. I can tell you that the customer services is also wonderful and quick to reply to any need. They really have someone available around the clock which is quite helpful considering I often times get my admin work done later at night here in the US!

Cons

Overall, there is not much that I do not like, I do wish that Deputy integrated for little to no cost with accounting or other IT Software programs. I would love to integrate with other programs that I use, but the cost is just too high to do that with the small business that I have. Its ok...easy enough to do on my own due to the ease of use of the program overall.

As a team, we find ourselves frustrated with Deputy on the daily. We are at a point where we are looking at other options that might be more user friendly.

Pros

Clear timesheet storage. Easy to set up employee in the program. Easy to request time off. Customer chat is quick. Connects with our payroll system with extreme ease which is a huge bonus. Photo clock in is very nice.

Cons

Setting up employee schedules is incredibly clunky. Reports are difficult to navigate around. There are no clear instructions how to use this program.

Ease of use, instant notification of shifts and changes, great organization of availability and cross reference between departments.

Pros

Ease of use & live on the go updates, being able to change and request shifts as needed. Simple availability and leave requests for staff.

Cons

Doesn't recommend staff best suited to shifts, still have to do rosters. Would love to be able to rank employee's in sections and have a roster automatically suggested.
