Pros: - It's one of the most intuitive pieces of software I've ever used.
- It's very easy to get set up and running.
- It drastically reduces email.
- It allows for collaboration with your team or cross departmentally.
- You can easily share Google Drive files.
- You can create sharable notes within Slack.
- The mobile app feels the same as the desktop app, making it easy to use both.

Cons: - It can easily become overwhelming in larger organizations with how many channels are created.
- There are some days where I feel inundated with Slack messages.
- It can be a distraction, it's much easier to ignore your inbox than it is to ignore Slack.

So far I love this system!

Cons: Nothing. So far, in my experience slack is the best form of this type of software I've used. I would highly recommend it.

Overall: I get instant communication access to groups and individuals. I also can share documents, which is ideal in my job.

Pros: Slack offers plenty of third party add ons, such as Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Asana, and various others, to share important files within chats so everyone is able to receive important documents. It also offers friendly gestures such as emojis and Gifs to express yourself

Cons: I have not had any issues with Slack and use it daily. I cannot think of anything else that it needs. If anything, by the time i think of it, slack would have already implemented it.

Overall: We can communicate with different departments on projects, and allow us to easily share documents in group chats

Pros: Slack is easy to use. It's easy to install. To get conversations started, you just have to pick the name of the person you need to talk to and start typing.

Cons: The only drawback to Slack is the fact that you can't have all of your direct message people listed. So, as you talk to more people, the least recent one falls off this list. I have 11 on my list, but I easily talk to 12 to 15 in a day so I'm always having to go add someone and if someone else falls off then I have to add them again too.

Pros: The mobile friendly app that is efficient and reliable in communication within large organization. Instant notification and group formation were the best features.

Cons: The software could be more intuitive in formation of groups by providing possible options of members to be included that might be missed otherwise. Also alarm on the possibility of a replicating group.

Overall: As I mentioned before, it is an effective, efficient and reliable source of instant communication via your mobile device in large global organization.

Pros: I absolutely love the user-friendliness of Slack's platform. Even my non-technical CFO enjoys using it. I love that you can create channels based off of projects and add only those people who need to be communicated with and also delete them when you are done and chat with different teams not even in your company! Its quicker than calling or texting and you can see if someone is working from home, instantly. The file drop feature is convenient because you can upload files, to a conversation, immediately and without leaving the platform. Last but not least, my favorite feature, built in GIFS! Random GIFS make stagnant office banter much more fun!

Cons: No complaints. There are quite a few features that I haven't explored yet. The mobile app makes things seamless.

Pros: new and innovative features it have like :
1: Delete message that have been sent accidentally, i personally saw this first here on slack then whatsapp now have it.
2: Custom emoji uploading, i mean that's hell lot of fun to have with our own unique custom emoji .
3: It does not require phone number just can be activated with official group id.
4: can be used on multiple PCs/mobile devices in sync with login and password.

Cons: 1: Windows version still need to be improved, sometimes be laggy and stops responding.
2: UX can be improved a bit more, by having things more organised.
3: features are hard to find, like one custom emoji its a great feature but i found it like after using it for more than 4/5 months.

Pros: We have used communication tools like Slack, MS Teams to provides a channel for our employees to share, collaborate and communicate about their work which has lead to higher levels of productivity. The main reason we used it was to solve the issue of transparency and collaboration between different teams / individuals who are spread across different locations through our remote working model.
One thing to agree, can't imagine the days of past when these tools does not exist and email is medium of communication...

Cons: It can be used too much and needs to be controlled environments with functional meets every so often to allow exposure between teams.

Pros:
the e-mail exchange decreases, bringing as a consequence that the exchange of information between team members flows quickly, also significantly decreases the meetings that often take away valuable time for work, another advantage of slack is that through chat It allows us to exchange code, script, and documents, On the other hand the free version of slack provides many alternatives so for small companies can be exploited, has creation of private rooms that allows us to segment by areas or topics of interest of the company the invited members who must be present. I find it very interesting that slack allows the integration with other tools such as trello, Github, which are also collaborative software, and always available in the cloud.

Cons:
if it is a company with many employees the costs of the licenses are monthly for each additional person, on the other hand one of the risks presented by slack is that it can become a channel of harassment against members of the team by the project managers and that online is the whole exchange of information, although this could be avoided by conducting personnel leadership policies in line with workers who are generating an intellectual product such as programmers, engineers etc, because if the pressure is very strong it ends up annihilating the creativity of the personal.

Overall:
the benefits of slack mainly is that it streamlines workflows, avoiding wasting time in bureaucratic processes and allowing employees to stay focused on their work, which increases productivity, is ideal for teleworking because we save money in renting physical spaces and We grant flexibility to workers, also has video calls, in short it is a virtual office platform.

Pros: Slack offers a free plan for as long as you want and with as many people as you want. In a channel you can do searches to get exactly what you are looking for. It offers a mobile application so you can connect wherever you want. You can create different channels for a different group or theme.

Cons: When the Internet connection is lost, it is necessary to restart the tool. If you want to archive all the messages of a channel you must buy one of the plans offered by slack.

Pros: Slack is a great tool for allowing teams to communicate remotely. Years ago we used Skype instant messages instead and the experience always felt lacking and was especially poor for getting multiple people to talk in a group. Slack is purposely designed for team chats and channels for topics keep everything organized so that it is easy for teammates to catch up on what relevant chat they missed instead of having to scroll through a giant mess.

Cons: I feel like the business per user pricing could be a bit lower. Biggest disadvantage of the free plan for business is that only 10k past messages remain searchable, so if you really continue using it, you will eventually want a paid plan.

Pros: Our company is divided in 3 different branches and we used to have a lot of email treats that would go unanswered, sometimes to be revisited when it was already too late to look at, using the different channels in Slack has help each branch have a direct communication with Payroll, HR, and Upper management on the topics that are needed to touch daily, weekly and monthly, make sure that everyone is on top of the pertinent information and their responsibilities in that matter. It has made communication easier and faster and we are able to track each activity in real time and with ease of follow up.

Cons: Since the applications UI is not as friendly as more common messaging systems it can be a little complicated to get use to the channel system and the way the direct messages work, and sometimes some communications when you are not savvy on the system can go to the wrong recipient, after a small learning curve this situation will not happen again.

Pros: Slack is amazing. Getting to instant message team members and create team conversations regarding different projects is hugely beneficial.

Cons: There honestly is nothing to complain about with this product! We use it very frequently and it never fails!

Pros: I really like how you can share screenshots and attach photos. Slack is organized really well in the sense that you can follow different channels and different accounts from one easy to use dashboard. I love how it highlights the channel that has new communication. I like that it is less formal than email and much easier to collaborate with a large group. I also used this for my school chat and with the photos and customization it gave a little more personality to our interactions.

Cons: I don't like how difficult it is to search and find old conversations. It is more of an in the minute product as I find it difficult to look through archive communications. Also, all of the channels can get a little overwhelming. Would not use this for anything besides work and school, no personal use. Do not turn on email notifications for new posts, it is overkill and fills up your inbox.

Overall: Easily communicate with co-workers across the state. Super easy to use.

Pros: It replaced the buggy incumbent software for us, initially for internal chat. The integrations are amazing allowing our group channels to receive notifications from our server monitoring, application deployment, sales summaries and more.

Cons: Screen sharing and usable external conversations are limited to paid subscriptions only and this becomes expensive for small business very quickly. No inbound telephony to channels.

Overall: Excellent communication and pro active delivery of notifications saving time.

Pros: The transparency into work is one of the greatest things we've gained from Slack. It keeps everyone up-to-date without a bunch of emails.

Cons: The constant ping from Slack can get distracting if you aren't purposeful about how you use it and interact with others.

Overall: I personally like Slack but many people see it as distracting for the type of work they do. It works for specific types of work where the majority is collaborative but doesn't work well for those that need to work on large tasks for extended periods on their own.

Pros: The user interface is very nice. It's not cumbersome like other platforms. It easily integrates with a lot of the applications we utilize.

Cons: It sometimes removes a conversation from the left side panel. While everything is archived and I am able to pull it up, it would be great if there was a list of all of the users on our slack account and at the bottom all of the group messages so I can pull them back up. I forget whether or not a group was started in the past.

Pros: It's just helpful to steam line all the discussions and remove yourself or mute one if you don't have to be a apart of it. I also like having the ability to add an emoji reaction. I know it seems a bit silly but it's a great way to acknowledge someone and let them know you've seen what they said without having to actually SAY something back. For example: If an employee says that they have a guest that hasn't checked in yet for a tour, I like to respond with the telephone emoji to let them know that I got their message and I am trying to contact the guest.

Cons: We have a bunch of channels at my work. Sometimes it's hard to remember where someone posted/asked a question because the "New Thread" notification goes away. I know you can still look at All Threads but it seems like there would be a more streamlined way. Like Facebook notifications, you can click on them and see "so and so tagged you in a status, etc". I wish Slack had something like that so you can easily and quickly go back to a channel where someone tagged you to respond even if it's a day or so later.

Overall: The reviews are short and to the point. Don't have to spend 30 min doing a favor for another company by reviewing.

Pros: In today's world of a more remote and cross functional team, communication is increasingly important and technology has needed to improve to support it. Slack enables my office to not only maintain close and effective communication with man remote team members, it also encourages a collaborative and social work environment.

Conversations and channels are not strictly work related, but also help the team get to know each other on a personal level. Additionally, Slack offers us a simple way to share knowledge, through articles, posts, random thoughts etc.....

The channel function easily streamlines lines of communication related to various business units and topics.

Cons: I sometimes wish I could format text within chats, aside from that I have zero complaints. It would be great if Slack came out also with a GoTo Meeting line conference line offering, as it would be nice to keep all of my client calls within Slack, opposed to another 3rd party.

Overall: Communication, collaboration, freedom of speech, social interaction, easy remote work, ability to share quick facts, ability to collect groups for specific topics.

Pros: Slack is an amazing application for keeping connected with your teams. It's an efficient way to quickly send messages without having to tailor and rewrite an email for a small answer.

Cons: Slack is a time suck, it's very easy for teams to get caught up in chats. The other downside is because it is casual people often ignore messages or don't see them as important. Depending on your company culture you are always considered to be "available" which can lead to burnout.

Pros: It keeps me connected with my co-workers for real-time input, discussion, and consequently productivity. We use Slack to coordinate schedules, assign tasks, and even just to stay connected socially. Channels allow us to create spaces for each intent. With so many of us working in different parts of the country, Slack gives us an appointment free environment within which to get stuff done. It is, in fact, the only "work tool" I use at home. I carefully guard the boundaries between my work life and home life with regards to all things except Slack (which I use on mobile while away from the office) because of the flexibility of purpose mentioned above.

Cons: There are times when the GUI feels clustered. Searching immediately comes to mind as it tries to answer your query while also keeping your current channel open, so everything gets squeezed. This is my only complaint with the whole program. Everything else I might complain about (like alerts) can be manipulated to my preferences within the options.

Pros: The employees at my company work at various client offices around the city of Chicago, but need to collaborate on our work quite often. Slack eliminated the need to send nearly any email between members of our office. All we need to do is use our Slack application to see who is online, and can get the responses we need extremely quickly. It is helpful to see when someone is typing a response, rather being completely in the dark as to when you will be receiving an answer when using email. I also enjoy the fact that you can create various channels for different types of conversations. Aside from work, we have chat rooms to discuss music, entertainment, sports, and many other interests our diverse group of coworkers has.

Cons: Often times I will appear offline on Slack even though I am using my computer. I am not sure if you need to be actively using the application to show up online, or if it can just be running in the background. As I am a relatively new user, I likely just need to look around in the settings to see if there is something that can be done to fix this issue.

Pros: Slack is a quick and effective way to communicate within teams and within the office. This streamlined avenue of communication cuts down on wasted time, brings people together, and pushes project forward.

Cons: I really can't think of a feature I don't like about this software. It is easy to use and solved a fundamental communication issue within our team.

Overall: Slack is excellent; I highly recommend.

Comments: Very good messenger for productive work of your team.

Pros: Great messenger to work with. For testing purposes, you can use the free plan before you decide to purchase a subscription to this product. Well-implemented search system, you can search in this channel and through other channels, plus the search system can add the necessary messages to your favorites. It is pleasant to be able to create multiple channels for different purposes, for example, to communicate with different divisions of the company and to include the necessary users, with one user being able to participate in several channels. There is also the possibility to use bots to automate the work, for example to train the staff of this product or even to implement the creation of tickets based on incoming notifications in your ticket system. Another note is the illumination of the code, integration with various applications such as Github, Dropbox, Datadog.

Cons: You need to spend a considerable amount of time to customize this product for yourself and not all the functions are quite clear. Doesn't like the way of quotes realization, it would be better to use stile like in Skype.

Pros: Ease of use, seamlessly switch from different workspaces. Channels are great to concentrate on certain subjects and have specific people in those channels. The integration of giphy makes work chat a bit more fun.

Cons: The uploading process of having to hold shift in order to auto upload, and if you don't you must describe your image.

Overall: Able to chat and keep up to date with coworkers.

Pros: Slack is a great way to keep in contact with your coworkers (or friends) and is a smart alternative to other messaging software like Facebook messenger or clunky group texts. There are certainly times when I do not want to give out my personal cell number to colleagues - Slack is a perfect compromise.

Slack has integration with a lot of other apps, which is incredibly useful... Also, the ability to tag .gifts and images is a notable plus, adding a certain light-heartedness to the chat without scouring the internet for that perfect reaction. The option for multiple groups and multiple private messages is the cherry-on-top.

Outside of work, I use Slack for a group message for a trading card game a group of us like to play. Slack makes it incredibly easy to cue up images of specific cards we are discussing... Totally nerdy, but for what we're doing, incredibly useful and convenient!

Cons: Sometimes I don't always get a Slack notification when I get a new message... But that might be my own fault. I have had occasional difficulties with slowness or freezing. All in all, very little to complain about.

Overall: Communication is so important to our operations. There is no room for mistakes when it comes to communicating the minute details of our event... Not only does Slack make our communication easy, it also provides a record of all of our conversations. Slack is peace of mind.

Pros: The ease of use is great. The chat-based approach is awesome for quick collaboration or small talk.

Cons: The free features (I know, that's not fair to complain about free) are limited and make usage less than ideal. The limited history is the main problem.

prompt tracking is always under supervision for all channels.

Pros: We can set up the channel according to our products which we support so that the notification is been segregated accordingly.

Cons: Details of the slack channel is not visible clearly on one go after the setup.
Also manual intervention is required at times. So if its automated in the set up end....all gud with this channel

Pros: Our entire team uses this everyday, for every employee in the office, as well as our remote employees. It's a core part of our business, and we love that it has a huge ecosystem of apps it integrates with.

Cons: Wish the video and screensharing were available on the free plan, but it's understandable that those are premium features.

Pros: I love that we could have separate threads and channels that allowed the right people to be in the know about different things. And, Slack made it super easy for everyone to be on the same page. I particularly liked how you could target someone with a @ if you needed a quick response.

Cons: Very little. Slack was incredible to use, simple, easy, and in my year of using it with my team, I have zero complaints. The only reason I didn't give slack 5 stars for customer support is cause I never had to find out!

Overall: Again, super easy for everyone to be in the know in a simple way! Loved the push notifications!

Pros: So easy to use. I grew up in the IRC days so this is a modern refresh of that. I love all the features to tag others, create channels, integrate other things like JIRA or OfficeVibe.

Cons: It's easy to become part of too many slack channels and groups...things get unwieldly then. I wish there was a SSO I could use so once I add a channel or change on my phone or desktop it would cascade to those platforms also.

Pros: It's easy to use, and there are a bunch of hidden features/integrations, like a gif creator, a quick way to hop into Zoom calls, a fun way to give kudos to other team members, and so much more!

Cons: It does take a balance to really prioritize what to look at if you end up having a lot of chatter that comes through.

Overall: Quick coordination with my team, the ability to both speak privately or openly. I do also love the ability to get pinged if someone uses a certain keyword. Other features I love are the group @ mentions you can set up, along with and away messages!

Pros: Slack does what it intends to do and is an average "team collaboration platform". Good features and functions, and overall a fine product.

Cons: However, something about the site just did not click with me or my team. It is hard to explain EXACTLY what went wrong, but it did not seamlessly integrate into our daily routine, which led us all to let it go by the wayside and eventually seek a new platform.

Overall: Team collaboration, instant communication, sharing capabilities.

Pros: Slack allows all team members to be connected throughout the day. Slack increases our team's response time, allowing us to complete our tasks with accuracy. It's easy to send images, documents, and audio files, and this helps our team edit work in a timely manner.

Cons: Messages can get overlooked sometimes if there are too many conversations going on at once. This is fixed by simply reviewing the archive and setting alerts.

Pros: It's super simple to setup and use. And it just does the trick - all communication tools needed for teams and organizations of different sizes. Chat, voice and video calls just work, no more setting up or multiple reconnections. I can see slack completely substituting email communication.

Cons: In terms of speed slack has still some area for improvement, especially when it comes to starting the apps. Also the notification system sometimes works in an unpredictable manner. Also one huge challange for Slack going forward is to how to facilitate work when you're subscribed to multiple workspaces (7 currently) with each one very different (work, meetup groups, mentor groups, etc) and it starts to be very hard to manage the different communication flows.
Also the pricing is quite steep if you want to onboard a large company.

Pros: Slack is the pioneer of business/team messaging. The ability to have groups and channels specific to projects and teams is very beneficial.

As a developer, you can create your own bots to do specific tasks or create reminders. You can develop entire applications around Slack's API.

This is a great addition to your project management suite. You can integrate it with services like Github, Asana, Trello, etc.

Cons: If you have a huge team, it can get a little pricey for all the business features. It doesn't come out of the box with it's own built-in video chat software.

Pros: This is a great collab tool especially for a software development organisation. I love how you can share snippets of your code so it's readable from your team mate. Channels are a great way to collab with clients or external team members.

Cons: It works great but I have to knitpick, I wish the external channels are in the free version. Even if it's limited. Would really benefit a small\startup company.

Pros: As a developer, I like the possibility to wire many external tools to Slack, and to integrate into it useful information for debugging, monitoring, etc. If a company choose to use many addons linked with Slack, it can become the main corporate tool for employees when they look for some information. I also like the search tool to be able to retrieve previously discussed facts as well as the media embedding capabilities when the team needs some distractions. Overall it's a really good tool to communicate if all employees are using it regularly.

Cons: The drawback of tools like Slack is that it can quickly become a big distraction for employees. As for emails, notifications coming from Slack can be an interruption during an important task, and then you are not focused anymore and lose time to get again into it.

Overall: Overall improved communications inside the company. Being able to get answers from people with the right knowledge, faster than with the traditional method using emails.

Pros: I love the integration of google drive to be able to easily share document. I also love that it is simple and easy to learn and use.

Cons: I wish it had a bit more in-depth task assigning and deadline features. With this option I would be able to move all team activity and assignments here.
