It offers everything that is much more expensive competition. Working with drawings is efficient thanks to additional applications or proprietary commands. In order to convince the crew to work for themselves in this program.

Pros

It is an excellent price-quality ratio. The most modern solutions, quick support, quick updates. this is something to pay attention to. It's something that you need every day at work and in business.

Cons

Typo translation, it bothers me. Such a good product should take care of details. This applies to all interface languages except English.

Excellent software. It works well once you learn the menus and get used to the functions. This will be an easy task, even after years of using AutoCAD.

Pros

Works just the the 'other' CAD software. Commands are the same. The menus are different, and that takes a little time to get used to if you use both applications. But other than that detail, you will not go wrong with this software. I've used it for 3-4 years now and it does everything I need it to do.

Cons

It is tricky to use it on several computers (only one at a time). I could not get it to transfer the license because their web domain is blocked on our internal network. It required special settings by our IT department to work, and it's still buggy. This is the only problem I've ever had.

### "Too many bugs"

I really wanted to like the ActCAD but in the end it turned out to be a frustrating experience. I tried to report the bugs and for smaller ones I got responses that they are noted but for bigger ones I got no response and no hope. If it would be possible I would like to have my money back...

Pros

Similar to other products and changing settings was easy. Also some small features that felt nice at first (even though I later turned them off).

Cons

Couple of big bugs and several smaller ones. I paid extra for network license but almost every time (couple of times per week) I switched the computer I had to manually reset the license on the homepage. Also quite often when the Windows was waking up from sleep, the ActCAD thought that there was no internet connection and closed without saving any open work.Another big problem was that sometimes some objects were randomly invisible and therefore also impossible to select. I tried to report that bug but got no response for that.Smaller annoying thins were worst autoregen I've seen in years (even with the best settings the circles most of the times had corners), several commands didn't have midcommand undo and also so slow autosave on a powerful computer that I quite often were wondering why the program doesn't respond.

Reason for choosing ActCAD

Without the subscription based pricing I thought that I would get more product for less money (but it turned out to be the opposite). Also some features looked good at first glance or on the paper.

All of the familar details of AutoCad but not the cost.....

Cons

Program seems to need to reset and recover a file .... Not sure why this is, but it does recover the file and I am not loosing anything in the process.....

Price ..... felt I had nothing to loose.... Now I am aware of the great value this program has....

I had purchased the AutoCad software and was working with it for years.... I had a perpetual license..... Perpetual until they wanted me to upgrade.... they made it so the program would not initialize.... When I called them about this, they (after multiple calls) gave me another key code to work the problem out ....this solved the issue for ONLY ONE TIME.... then I was right back to the same issues....

Disappointing experience. Would probably try another CAD alternative.

Pros

Similar interface and GUI to AutoCAD. Many features (but not all) similar to AutoCAD.

Cons

WORKSPACE - DRAFTING AND ANNOTATION - Block library would not work in most of the cases and would disappear from your drawing and you would not be able to use blocks which they are offering. - Editing "Attributes" in ActCAD is a forever task. Also, "MTEXT" in attributes does not work most of the times. - "Field" tab in ActCAD has very less features available as compared to other commercial software. Especially "ctab" feature is not available which is a very basic feature. - You do not get a different dimension layer in the "Annotation" tab where you can set a different layer to only dimension text and lines. - Cannot not run "Visual Basic" applications. - Very Slow. With the recommended system requirements as they have on their website, ActCAD is not able to handle even small scale projects. - CUSTOMER SUPPORT: They advertise that they have lifetime customer support. They will reply you promptly but the issues still remain UNSOLVED. I contacted customer support regarding "Block Library" issue somewhere in October 2020 but till date the issue is NOT RESOLVED.

Great. This has been even better than I could have anticipated. I used the software through a trial period and did not hesitate to purchase when the time came. Excellent CAD option for those who prefer not to have a subscription based software.

Pros

Cost and function. As other CAD software moved to a subscription based option, this was a great replacement. Very impressed with the interface (once I determined where everything was located) and the overall product.

Cons

Nothing. As mentioned, I had to learn a little with the location of and functions as they are all different from my experience with a previous CAD software, but this comes with anything new.

The war against AutoCad monopoly is truly worth fighting. I appreciate the ActCad team to really push their envelope with limited resources in comparison. You have our full support for further development and implementation.

Pros

It loads quickly It has all the necessary features that I use to design layouts and review equipment designs. It autosaves very often It saves processing time by focusing on performance rather than only aesthetics.

Cons

Sometimes the select window misbehaves by selecting all. The cut selection, block convert and paste function sometimes deletes the selection.

easy to use like AutoCAD very fast to be open and close all the function i had in AutoCAD i found back here, so perfect

just some trouble in the external images management and visualization, which sometime disappeared in the first stage of use of the software (never happened with Autodesk), but then after changing the laptop with a powerful one the issue never happened again

### "Better than I imagined."

Overall, I am very pleased to have ActCAD, especially considering the value. The transferable key is easy to switch over to my laptop when I travel.

Pros

To be perfectly honest, I was looking for an alternative to the extremely expensive standard when the COVID 19 pandemic occurred and we had to cut down on expenses. So, after trying several other CAD programs which simply were too limited or have an unfamiliar format that would require too long to master, I happened on ActCAD almost by accident. To my delight ActCAD turned out to be the perfect alternative in every way.

Cons

Most of what I do is in 3D rendering. The quality of visual renderings displayed on my excellent monitors, especially when transparencies are involved is noticeably grainy in appearance. Also, what I call "anchor points" which would be the reference base point for copying or moving anything usually defaults to some undesired reference. I'd like to know if there's a fix for that. Finally, when executing any command the default position for the keystrokes should be the COMMAND line. It is a nuisance to have to always anchor the command with the cursor.

Overall, I have been able to do the same 2D work with ActCad that I had been doing with AutoCad.

Pros

Can open and edit and save drawings from 20+ years ago that were first drawing in DOS Autocad. Also opens and edits my most recent cad files from 2020 version of Autocad. No problems with transportability. I have used the same drawings on both systems with no issues.

Cons

When snap tracking is on the software can grab points all around you intended target. The error is so small it is hard to detect until you zoom in and look at the corners. When you close the program, if you don't select yes to the prompt for saving, the UI settings and some drawing settings are lost. I have to reload tool bars and set the UI back to my preferred type.

### "Terrific option for great software"

I've use cad since 1992, off and on. At work, we initially had MicroGDS, then MicroStation. Ive never used AutoCad, which here in America is really the leading Cad program, but the companies license agreements are crazy for someone who is not doing this as a profession.

Pros

I use this software as a replacement to MicroStation, which is what I used at my work, but I retired and lost access to cad software. Not wanting to spend a lot of money, or have to have a renewable license, this software is perfect. I am not a cad operator by trade. I used it at work to update drawing done by those who do that full time. I mainly use it for house plans for remodels I do, or basic part sketching for things I build in my shop. I am not efficient, but I love the accuracy of being able to draw in scale, print in scale, and produce professional looking drawings.

Cons

I don't want to be critical, because so much of what is confusing to me is only because of syntax issues with how ActCad performs a function, and how I was taught using other software. The software will do anything I need it to do, just not always obvious. For me, getting the snaps to work just as I am expecting has been difficult, but thats likely just operator unfamiliarity, as I still only use the software somewhat sporadically. I'll use it say 4 or 5 hours a day for a week or two, then maybe not at all for a couple of weeks, then only an hour or so.

Pros

\- AutoCAD compatibility and commands. - Fast loads. - Handles images and underlays well. - Supports AutoCAD file formats all the way back to the beginning. - Support always gets back quickly with suggestions and solutions to issues. - eMails keep you updated with the newest versions.

Cons

My only beef is that it doesn't handle fonts well when creating a PDF document either using the export function or a PDF print driver. The same driver works well creating the fonts with AutoCAD.

Simply wow, true value for money.

Pros

Minimal, almost no learning curve to shift from Autocad to ActCAD. Very much Autocad like interface, infact I have arranged all my tollbars, ribbons same as Autocad so virtually no difference. Also forward and backward portability of files, from Autocad to ActCAD and vice a versa irrespective of which version of Autocad file is saved.

Cons

Initial configuration, installing is bit difficult or cumbersome. bit slower than Autocad (performance is dependent of hardware too so not a show stopper) but can be worked out by optimising hardware and software interface. I am sure ACTcad team will work that out.

However, if your computer doesnt have .Net framework 4.5, VC++ versions, our installer will install them as they are the prerequisites. That could be the reason for delay. Good for existing AutoCad users. They have one more option available now.

Pros

This is very nice and user freiendly software. Very nice alternative CAD software at very reasonable price compare to other software. Most of the Cad user’s need are satisfied in this software. Strongly recommended for student and professionals.

Cons

Courser speed is little slow. Need some improvement related to LISP loading. Also need some improvement for compaitability w.r.t other existing Cad software so that user can check the data in two different software to get more confidence of using ACTCAD.

Please try to switch off Hardware Acceleration to get smooth cursor movement. It also depend on the Graphic card and its latest drivers. Regarding LISP, yes we do not support 100% functions. It's ok right out of the box as long as you're not doing anything too complicated.

Pros

Easy to get started from AutoCAd. Difficult modifying some functions to work like used to in AutoCAD.

Overall experience is very good.

Pros

The software commands are similar to other cad softwares available in the market, So no need to take separate training for this.

Cons

Some commands are not user friendly, angular line drawing. When you copy any sketch & directly paste into the excel the background will be black always it is something annoying.

I use it to document what I do, and as a lot of our work is repetitive, because of ActCAD, all I have to do is print out a drawing instead of having to lay out the components of the panels we build. The drawing has a layout with dimensions and whatever other information is needed. All I really need is a tape measure a marker and a square, and in no time my job is done.

Pros

I learned to use cad with AutoCAD. I always liked the software but never used it enough to justify the price. ActCAD solved the problem. It is fantastic software, very much like AutoCAD and it has all the features plus many more that it is a pleasure to use it with practically no learning curve.

Cons

I have yet to see anything that I would consider as being a con.

Overall it's a very cost-effective solution for CAD technicians and drafting specialists. The feature set is comparable to other big-name CAD tools which makes it's very attractive.

Pros

Cost is by far one of the best things about this software. It allows me to do the same things I could've done in other big CAD tools.

Cons

The first few hours with this software might feel a bit frustrating and cumbersome, so it definitely takes a while to get the hang of it.

I like it.

Pros

The price and performance is the best. It is 100 times better than the other best sellers and 1/10 of the price, permanent license. What else is there to say?

Cons

The platform MS Windows is tricky, and when updates happen, like the other day a sound driver, that derailed my ACT CAD, that is just plain ridiculous. I blame the monopoly for this, not ActCAD. I still managed to make the drivers work, with the help of the support team. The thing is, I fear that with time they will follow the herd and raise the price. There isn't anything that I don't like about ActCAD.

Purchasing ActCAD 2020 Professional became my favorite basic tool for working in Architecture and Design in 3D World. All in one

Pros

Simplicity, completeness and constant improvement Life-time, work anywhere on any pc, best support ActCAD has a future

Cons

I have no objections for now because ActCAD is constantly improving and remarks that they appear removed as soon as possible. So I went after the transition to AutoCAD Subscription decided to purchase the perpetual ActCAD Pro.
