Pros What I love about JackRabbit is how helpful and prompt their customer service has been, time and time again, since I began using their service in 2014. A close second place is the excellent organization and all the various tools at my fingertips. We have returned to this superior product. Pros Jackrabbit Music have a great quality database with all the features we need which cuts down on administration labour - such as billing, pro rata, automatic reminder emails to customers, book your own makeup classes. The other amazing feature is the detailed reports available that are completely customisable. Cons Just a few of the American language, spelling and back to front dates. We are an Australian customer and it hasn't been fully switched to the way we do things in Oz. It's the primary software that manages all the accounts for our Music School - scheduling and billing. We primarily focus on private lessons. I will say that Jackrabbit does seem to be more geared towards group classes, like for dance or karate schools. But it suits our needs. Pros Jackrabbit works well as a basic CRM, but is especially good at keeping our lesson scheduled intact and for recurring billing. Cons I'm not sure what the annual downtime is, but there have been a few outages throughout the year - maybe two or three each year. Cons I wish the scheduling feature worked a little better for ongoing private lessons at music school. The fact that JR TA is not versed in SafeSave and we need to deal with them directly. Coordinator Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Great class management with excellent customer service" December 13, 2022 5.0 We are ensuring that we are getting paid for the classes provided, and that we are paying our teachers appropriately. Pros Jackrabbit is very robust. It ensures that our classes are scheduled, tuition is paid, and teachers get paid properly. It was a game changer from our old method of using a Google calendar for class scheduling, a billing software for tuition, and a spreadsheet to pay the teachers. Before, Billings and teacher payments were falling through the cracks. Now, with Jackrabbit, we are confident that we are tracking everything and getting paid. The parent portal is also a game-changer, empowering our parents to easily notify us of changes and see their account, freeing up our staff for other tasks. Cons There are a couple of demographics fields that we must track in the US, for nonprofit government grants. I hope these can be added as a feature. Race/Ethnicity/Income level are examples. Also, we need a way to do substitutions on our private lessons, and track more than one teacher for group lessons (and do substitutions there too). March 15, 2022 5.0 Pros While there were some learning curves at first, I found that JackRabbit Music just works best. I've tried three other competing software platforms and while they each have unique features that are appealing, in the end they did not live up to my expectations or to the standard of JackRabbit. Cons The user interface isn't the most intuitive. This is my biggest negative. Sometimes just finding things takes some digging but it's always there. Pros Ease of use, easy to train staff to use, great data storage, usually pretty fast Cons We put the total of annual tuition on accounts at one time so people can see the total they committed to paying. Some elect to pay in monthly installments. As it currently is, I have to manually charge all of those accounts each month by typing in their monthly installment amount and applying it to the tuition balance. It takes a lot of time. Wish we could have an option to enter that monthly amount once and automatically charge and apply it, along with any other fees incurred that month. Would save hours of admin time. December 6, 2017 5.0 Pros What I like most is the amount of time I save using Jackrabbit. I can post monthly tuition fees for 900 students, and collect the money on the first of the month(credit cards and bank drafts) in less than 30 minutes! I love that Jackrabbit can export financial data to Quickbooks, which saves me from re-entering data. I love the lesson scheduling, which can keep track of future drops and future enrolls. Because we have so many families with the same last name, I love that it keeps student\_family\_transactions all in one place to avoid errors. I love the extensive reporting capabilty. I could go on, but you get the idea. If you tried to take it away from me, you would have a fight on your hands. Cons It is a little bit pricey. On makeup lessons, it would be helpful to be able to record a "partial makeup", for example if the student is owed a 30 minute lesson, and the instructor is able to give a 15 minute makeup, it would be nice to be able to keep track of that. Easy to print class rolls. You can access anywhere with WiFi and on any device. Cons Writing emails directly into the program is difficult. It is much easier to write/type in another application then copy and paste. You have to log in twice to get into the staff portal for time sheets, etc. Some parents find it difficult to use. Many features are difficult to utilize on a phone versus a computer like sending emails, enrolling students, and viewing all classes without having to scroll past the long descriptions to get to the next one. The future enrolled should be marked as the spot is taken on the reporting tool. The credit on an account looks like a red delinquent amount and has confused many of our clients. The help support has been outstanding and the 30 minute check-ups and question sessions are very valuable. Pros We started a music program an needed software to create schedules, provide an on-line presence for registration, collect fees and manage attendance of students and instructors. We found that Jackrabbit met and exceeded many of the touchpoints. Our finance department was very pleased that fees/registration could be linked to ledgers. The access to many styles of reports met the needed of different stakeholders. Cons Our most challenging implementation of the software is trying to make it work for what we were already doing. We may have been better off to decide our parameters around the capability of the software. We struggle with multiple levels of discounts. There is still a lot that need to be manually entered. Cons That there is no way to filter out toxic families when creating email reports for active or inactive families OR when archiving families to a lead file. There is no way to put toxic families into another category so they can't re-enroll again. This is easily one of your largest discrepancies and has caused turmoil for us as well as another businesses we know who has used this software. We have considered switching to Apple's new software because the other business we know crumbled due to this defect in your software. Other than that your software is fantastic! November 16, 2017 5.0 JackRabbit makes it much easier to manage our class lists and billing for our music education organization. Pros JackRabbit is very easy to use. It is simple to find and enter information. Our families can log in and view their information and make payments as needed. It is also pretty powerful and flexible. I like the customizable fields which help us capture essential information unique to our organization. There is a good variety of reports available, and being able to export information to Excel is essential for creating our own reports. We have some unique billing needs, and we have been able to manage those with JackRabbit. I also like the ability to manage security at a very granular level so that people can access exactly what they need and no more. They also seem to be making frequent improvements to the software, so it feels that they really want this product to be the best it can be in meeting the needs of their customers. We are a non-profit organization, so having this be an affordable option is a really good deal for us! Cons I wish we had the ability to create our own reports within the software itself instead of exporting the data and creating our own reports using Microsoft Access. Review Source BW Brian W.
