Pros: In my opinion it is an excellent application. Most frequently use by a large number of people for connecting with teams or clients living at distant places. One can have access to Skype easily. Easy to download, install and use. It gives us a nice platform for keeping meetings with a number of people at the same time. Its video calling is the one of the powerful feature and that is most important for everyone. It allows us to share our screen with others in order to share our data or private information that we do not want to share in soft copy. For the project management it shows there is nothing except this software.

Cons: As far as I am concerned, with this collaborative software. It is better option instead of the other tools available in the market, because its complain ratio is very down and runs great. As I am a frequent user of this product I hardly have to come across with any trouble while using this source of collaboration. A minor issue that sometimes comes, is when I send audio voice massage it disappears in my chat room but the person whom I send, he receives.. It is a little strange thing It has happened 5 to 6 times but it is not a big deal, it might be my internet problem or connection error. Well I am satisfied with you Skype.

Overall: Outstanding software through which we can arrange conferences , meetings via live high quality video calls and much more. If I talk about the business benefits there will be uncountable words. It has been a part of my life using Skype for business in daily routines and having great services by this outstanding program.

Pros: Skype for business is wonderful collaboration platform. That is the platform where business gets benefits, when it lets the expenditures reduce and provides its services. Skype is the one of the amazing and useful product of Microsoft.

As a result of using this software I got to know it is not only provides services of calling, massaging, sharing etc. But also lets the user achieve his working goals.

I really like to use it's all the features and functions they are nicely developed and very easy to learn. There are many things those I like about Skype like video calling and its being high quality and strong. It is also great that this product allows connecting two hundred plus people at the same time. It is an advance and positive platform for everyone. Not even software is great its customer support is also professional and responsive.

Cons: As I have write in the pros box about the thing are really appreciable about this product of Microsoft. Because of my frequent use of this software I can better realize the problems I face while using it. But there are not too many complaints which it brings. Sometimes when I share my screen with other people, it goes fantastic but after a short while it system close the Skype windows by its own. I really want to know what is happening with it and why it happens then I have to reopen Skype and make the call again. It irritates me while doing my important work. This is the issue that I have to face sometimes with Skype. I also think that it can be my device problem. That is why I have a strong belief on Skype and the services it provides. I am also waiting for new improvements of the programs they will surely bring more easiness for every user.

Overall: Overall experience with Skype is amazing. It gives us bundle of benefits and they are appreciable. It provides us to arrange online meetings instead of having a physical meeting. Its Screen sharing feature is one of the great features I have ever used. I am completely satisfied with this product

Pros: One of the most outstanding feature of "Skype For Business" is that it supports up to 250 attendees in a meeting.

However, here are some of the other Pros that I would like to mention:-

1) NO DISTURBANCES: Skype facilitates an easy integration with Outlook and Outlook Calendar. This makes it easy for an individual to accept an invitation to a meeting. Okay, here's my point - Skype will acknowledge your calendar data and will change your status to "in a meeting". This will get ride of any disturbances caused by side chats or notifications.

2) IT REPLACES TEAM VIEWER: Okay, maybe team view has other features that Skype doesn't at the moment. But Skype certainly gets the basics done when it comes to "remote connectivity". Within Skype's bundle of features is a great tool that helps you connect with an individual, take control of their system (temporarily) and show them how things are done.

3) AUDIO & VIDEO CALLS: I've got to admit, when I first started using Skype For Business (quite a long time ago), I was dissuaded by the poor call quality. However, things have changed! Now-a-days, Skype can facilitate high-quality audio/video calls.

Cons: There's not much that I dislike about Skype For Business. However, after carefully scrutinizing the software, here are some of the problems that I've faced:-

1) LAGGY AT TIMES: So this doesn't happen very frequently. However, I have noticed that whenever I have multiple chats or conversations open, Skype becomes unresponsive and sometimes even crashes. I find that a bit odd, considering the fact that I use a high end laptop.

2) NO CUSTOMIZATION: I feel that Skype users should be able to have a myriad of themes to choose from. My argument is: If Skype for personal use has it, then why not Skype for business? Giving professional users the liberty to customize a bit could probably break the monotony of a busy schedule and increase productivity in the long run. Or maybe that's just me.

Overall: THE BOTTOM LINE: Skype For Business is a revolutionary application that encompasses of conferencing tools, chat clients, remote access, etc that can take care of all your communication needs. NOTE: If you're looking for a full-fledged VoIP service, you may want to look elsewhere.

Comments: It's arguably the most important collaboration tool we have in the company over the years of working here. It increased the efficiency of every employees and the ability to reach our co-workers in different countries and offices.

Pros: COUNTLESS BENEFITS of using Skype for Business. It helps me communicate more easily and be closer to clients and seniors as well. I can say it is a PERFECT and USEFUL communication software and it is for all sizes of business as well as industries. I've been using it for years now, and I have no regrets of using Skype for Business. It EASY TO USE for arranging meetings and conferences over the Skype. Its features are remarkable. Functions are Great. 1) Video and Audio is so clear, and allows me to talk at the same time with more than 200 persons, although my meetings are not as big as its features, what I am saying here is it can be used by big organizations. 2) Allows me to share my screen with my colleagues in other offices to show them the program I am working on, so they could help me if I'm stuck as well. It's a PERFECT Business IM solution that allows everyone to remain efficient by not having to pick-up the phone or send e-mail for basic questions.

Cons: It requires excellent connection when using it. Video result is great if you have a great connection too. But, Overall for me it is a blessing. It's features and functions are all amazing. There is nothing bad about it.

Pros: Skype for Business fits neatly into the rest of the Office 365 stable. Update your presence in Skype for Business, and it shows in Outlook (desktop and web), on the Office 365 browser toolbar, in Delve, etc. I like how easy it is to have a quick chat with a single person, then bring in other participants as needed. Or how easy it is to move from a chat to a video call, or to share your screen when talking, or to share a file while chatting--all without leaving the Skype for Business app. Skype for Business makes it really simple to manage contacts, allowing you to create favorites for those you collaborate with frequently and create groups of contacts for when you want to group chat. I love how easy Skype for Business makes it to start an impromptu meeting, too. The real plus for me, though, is the way Microsoft has threaded Skype through the Office 365 platform, so you're not tied to the desktop or smartphone app to get notifications and conduct conversation. And if you miss a message? No problem, as it's archived in your conversation history in Outlook (and Skype for Business sends you an email with missed conversations, too).

Cons: Skype for Business on the desktop frequently has difficulty maintaining a connection to the server. Sometimes I'm in the middle of typing a message and the app will freeze. The Android app, while quite robust in terms of features, seems to struggle without a lot of bandwidth. Hopefully future updates to both products will mitigate these issues.

Overall: Skype for Business compensates for email's biggest failure: conversation, and especially, quick conversation, whether it's chat, voice, or video. Mostly we use it to have quick conversations via chat and that has largely replaced phone calls and texting in our office. Why is this important? Because the Skype for Business messages follow you, getting to you wherever you are without any extra effort or configuration on your part.

Pros: I have been using Skype for business for 3 years. It has been a perfect and useful communication software for all sizes of businesses and for all industries. It is an office platform by itself.

When I started using it made easier to arrange meetings and conferences over the Skype and currently its advance features and functions are remarkable. I like the way the team of Skype enhance this great software.

There are many features of Skype for business those I like to use, some of them are here:

1. Video and audio calling feature which allows me to talk at the same time with more than 200 persons. My meetings are not as big as its feature allows to use its advance system, so it can be used by big organizations.

2. Most important thing about Skype Its Audio and video recording that is completely secure and a fantastic feature which can save our meetings or conferences and helps in remembering the forgotten stuff.

3. This software let me use side conversation while doing meetings. I can easily have conversation with any person I want to do. This is one of the great feature which I love to use.

4. It allows me to share screen and programs which is very convenient and supportive feature for helping each other and sharing our files with other just via screen.

5. It is easy to use for everyone. It has advance featuring but that is not difficult to use. A new user can easily learn using it by using two to three times.

Cons: Sometimes when I log in my Skype account and made calls to several people and one issue comes up that I really do not know. I am kicked out from the meeting without any reason or any notice only i am not having that issue but it happens to my colleagues as well.

The second issue which I have to face sometimes is Skype does not go for a long time with a high quality video result. Video result is great I really do not say it is awful. I just want to highlight that it should be further improved for providing us great services of Skype.

Overall: The benefits I have realized after using Skype they are countless, but I would like to say it helps me to get closer of my clients and keeps me closer to my seniors as well. Overall for me it is a blessing.

Pros: Skype for Business is not far from regular Skype in terms of it's cores functionalities, although, it offers the extra tools needed for a proper operating remote office, but it is still useful for a traditional office environment, specially if you have a big organization. It is easy and familiar to use if you were a Skype user.

Some of the most important enhancements added that are not in regular Skype are:

1.- Organize a multitude of contact information of employees within the organization, making it accessible for anyone joining the company easily.

2.- Video and Audio recording: This one is very useful, specially if someone misses a meeting or if you would like to skip doing the same conference over and over again.

3.- Video and Audio calls with more than 200 people at the same time. My law firm is not that big! But I assume this can be quite useful for bigger organizations.

4.- It is fully integrated with Outlook and Outlook Calendar, this interconnection is rather useful in terms of meetings, it brings up reminders, and it also automatically changes your status to 'In a Meeting', when there is one scheduled, also blocking any annoying notifications you might have during the call.

5.- It comes in a bundle with Office 360, which comes with all the essential tools for an office oriented company running on PC platforms.

Cons: Skype for Bussiness is far from being bad, but I must say there are negative factors:

1.- You need a stable and fast Internet connection (It should be higher than 5 Mbps if you want to mantain a good video and audio stability, otherwise the call might freeze from time to time). Many remote office environments deal with people from different countries with diverse Internet providers that vary in quality, depending on where your employees are located might interfere in how they experience a Video Conference Call. Although, I think this can be applied to many softwares of this nature, but it needs to be pointed out.

2.- Sometimes it requires the user to constantly log in, even when they saved their credentials. Although, I believe this issue was solved in version 6.0.9319.534.

3.- It tends to consume a lot of RAM, specially when starting up, so it might crash if you have a low end PC.

4.- Notifications tends to get buggy sometimes.

5.- People in the graphics department tend to use Apple products, and as far as I am concerned there is no Skype for Bussiness for MAC or any other Apple platforms.

Overall: Skype for Business is a great tool, it is still very new (I believe the first version was launched in 2015), with a few enhancement in the Voice over Internet Protocols and Internet Speed quality optimization I believe it could become the leading software in terms of Enterprise Communication.

Pros: initially its very similar to the Hotmail messenger that thousands of people are used to, its simple to use very intuitive, you can create list of contacts and groups, but also it allows you to search by name, orgchart or any other field in your active directory or ldap books.

there is a mobile version that allows you to been connected while not in your desk, and if you miss a message you receive an email indicating that you have pending communications with somebody.

there is also a functionality for creating room group chats and instant meetings.

I also use a lot the IP/Phone functionality and have call forward to my mobile in case that somebody call me when I'm not online, so I don't miss any phone call, it syncs very smooth with your mobile phone directory so also allows you to search in your contacts to place calls from your mobile phone by using you ip phone avoiding the costs of your phone company, to me this comes very handy due to the number of international calls I make, so helps me to save money in that matter.

Cons: sometimes when you miss a message in mobile you don't have the ability to recover the message, which its kind of annoying, I believe its glitch in the system, cause it opens the chat window but you cant see the message you received. this only occurs in the mobile version, the desktop version runs pretty smooth.

Overall: it improved a lot the way I can communicate with the business, as an individual who works with global clients where communication is critical for the business, this toll is a great solution.

Pros:

Skype for Business, allows access and communications to people who are related to work but for physical reasons are not in one place or very dynamic organizations where people have some freedom of action in their work, traveling from one place to another. Another, the interesting thing about this tool is that, because of its simplicity, it facilitates interpersonal communications, either from interest groups, from positive things, in addition to real-time video calls, documents that can be shared between users can be attached. that are part of a local network of joint work or people invited to participate in the video conferences, other of the crucial tools of this software is that video calls can be recorded, generating records of each opinion or activity made through the program, we must highlight the button of events and its versatility since it allows to create an itinerary that is visible to all aggregates that interact with a specific user.

Cons: The most obvious difficulties are in the manipulation of the program, usually people do not delve into the applications that this version of Skype has, since it is very much associated with the version used for social networks, the other thing is in the support stability is needed in the internet service provider so that the experience with the program is of the highest quality in terms of audio and video. It is also important to note that few use the internal mail of the program as people rely more on the visual audible and leaves in the background the tools of deeds and therefore underutilize the sending of documents, also the access through the database that the organization has in terms of institutional mails that at certain times there are limitations among other people keys that are not adhered to that kind of institutional intranet established by the program.

Overall: The communications offered by this tool allows users to remain united to a work network that facilitates institutional interaction through video calls and chat to coordinate and implement the tasks of the organization

Pros: In the company we have it configured with the telephone exchange and we ask for portability to communicate from anywhere in the world at local cost, which gives us a savings in long distance call costs when we travel.

That the Skype client for the cell phone is totally free and its operation is the same as that of the notebook.

In addition, the federation is active, which makes it easier for us to communicate with our suppliers and customers who have Skype for companies or staff, and we can add our contacts to family and friends who use personal Skype.

The capacity of people added to a conference or video call is very facilitating to give courses, seminars and hold meetings of projects at a distance.

Being able to work remotely reduces personnel travel expenses by a high percentage.

The look and feel of the Skype client makes it intuitive and does not need a course for its use.

Last but not least, the integration with all Office 365 products makes Skype bring us closer to our collaborators when editing a document, writing an email or in the process of assigning tasks in a project.

Cons: In my opinion and experience, I think there are two things I do not like about Skype for Business:

The first is that when you are outside of a Wifi and you are in a country that your cellular data connections are not very good, the quality of the call is affected, but I attribute it to an external factor.

The second is when making a call the waiting time to listen to the dial increases to 2 or 3 seconds, it seems nothing but for a secretary it is a long time.

Overall: saving in time and money of the company for communications and teamwork.

Pros: Having used this software for over a year I must say that it has made communication across countries much easier. As long as a person is within your organization (company email address) you can message/call them quite easily. No need to search for them, then add them, wait them them to accept etc. However favorites can be added for quick chats or calls.

My favorite feature is the integration with Outlook. While sending an email to a colleague I can see by their status if they are busy, available , away or on a call. It also sets up automatic links for meeting invites you create with the invitation for others to meet online. Invitations can also be sent to persons who do not have a company email address through the use of a generated link to the meeting room.

Even though it's made by Microsoft, it installs fairly easily on Mac and mobile devices and tablets. You can literally take your meetings anywhere! It of course includes the usual features such as files sharing, screen sharing, and histories across devices.

Cons: I have two major issues with this software. The first is connectivity. I'm still not sure if it's a software issue or a network issue but 50% of the time the audio is one way only the first time I call a colleague or they call me.

So each call goes like this: Call --> Connect --> Can you hear me? --> Silence--> Type: I can't hear you so hang up and call me back. --> Call --> Now I can hear you, can you hear me?--> Good. Let's begin.

It doesn't happen every time so it may be internet related but it never happens when using the regular Skype app on the same network.

My second issue is the way the app logs recent conversations. While the regular Skype app has just one window for each contact, Skype for Business seems to create a window/recent conversation entry for each new interaction or day. Maybe it's a setting but I just spent 10 minutes clearing out the recent conversations list which had multiple entries for 7-10 people. It's a bit of an annoyance but not a major hindrance to using the software.

Overall: It generally saves time when trying to contact co-workers who work in different countries. While I don't deal with the finances, I believe this will also save the money associated with long distance calls as well.

Pros: It is a great improvement on the previous communication tool that was used, but it is by no means perfect. I like that you also have a mobile application for when it is not quickly available on your desktop, and that it also allows calls and file transfers.

The user interface is very intuitive, which makes the software very easy to use. Skype for Business is the best communication software for your daily work. It literally allows me to work from home, while traveling or in the office.

The user interface is very intuitive, which makes the software very easy to use. Skype for Business (Lync) is, by far, the best communication software for your daily work. It literally allows me to work from home, while traveling or in the office.

It is integrated directly into the Office 365 suite of applications and inserts practical actions automatically; for example, you can directly initiate an invitation to a meeting with Skype dial-up details from Outlook. The best and most applicable part of Skype for Business is the conversation / chat function. In a fast-paced environment, it is much more informal and easier to use compared to email or picking up the phone. It is also good to see the status of my colleagues and if they are at your desk, in a meeting, or are available to call or chat. The interface is easy to use and I like the size of the window, since it is automatically loaded. It is not necessary for the window to be full screen, but it is not too small to interfere with other

Cons: At first, it was very frustrating that Skype opened every time I turned on my computer.

This configuration that you have implemented should be activated first, instead of Skype, assuming that I want this application to open each time I turn on my computer.

I believe that this same configuration should be applied to the availability function.

Instead of Skype, assuming I am available because I am active on my computer, I would like to activate the available configuration every time I am available.

My only dislike about Skype at work is that it constantly alerts you when someone tries to contact you. This can be a great distraction at work.Other disadvantages related to this product include: the need for a fast and reliable Internet service, the limited availability of customer service when problems arise and the quality of calls sometimes. While Lync is excellent at what it does, it has some small things that I do not like. For example, if you set your status to be absent, you will immediately say that you were absent for 5 minutes, even if you set it up. This can be annoying, especially if you are someone working on the clock and every minute you take account.

The emoticons could also use a bit of an update, with some that do not make any sense or that have no purpose in the business world (I'm looking at your sheep emoticon).

In general, it's perfect for what it is, a commercial messenger, but you can use some improvement Consume high internet bandwidth

Pros: As a founding member of a startup with scientists and engineers all across the world, it's important that we have software that allows group meetings and simple file transfer. Typically connectivity is great, with a strong internet connection, and the sound quality is often much better than phone calls (though obviously not as good as in-person meetings).

We often transfer files, so that feature is great, and I love that we can screenshare with each other during a call and go over our website and marketing materials together.

Cons: I wish there were an easier or more intuitive way to just view the files sent to you by a particular person. Being the web developer for an aerospace startup requires that I get files/images/videos/etc. from the scientists and engineers on the team, and unfortunately there isn't a simple way to view files sent without having to scroll through dozens of conversations mining for them.

There's usually a bit of delay, but that's to be expected when you're talking with people all over the world. The internet connection does have to make a physical trip to servers, etc., so I can't expect it to be immediate.

It would be really nice if multiple members on a call could screenshare. Even if it were limited to two people, it would really help. Also, it would be awesome if one person screenshares and the other members can drag that screenshare to another window to create multiple screenshared Skype windows. I use multiple monitors, so this would really be handy.

Overall: Through talking to the CEO of an aerospace startup on Skype, I was able to land a job with a huge salary and a percentage in the company that could turn me into a multi-millionaire (and possibly billionaire). All because I was able to talk to someone from another country who needed a web developer for his startup.

Pros: I use this program on a daily basis and find that Skype for Business' emoji's are becoming one of the most common methods of communication for my colleagues. Our edition of Skype for Business includes over 40 emoji's, with the majority of them animated. A quick, "thumbs up" often feels like the right response to a quick office survey or invitation, while the bowing emoji may be the way you wish to say, "you're welcome." The wide range of emoji's are both entertaining and effective for a wide variety of professional and casual text-based communications.

The video-based communication feature performs flawlessly on my office's 3-year old operating system and easily supports presentations visible to large groups. I have personally attended a presentation with over fifty individuals in attendance without too much of an issue. This feature also worked well with office headsets and allowed the use of the mute and volume buttons via the headset volume controls.

The group text feature is one of the most commonly used features within our office, where multiple users can click and drag content into the text message space to quickly share it with the group.

Overall, my office has been very pleased with the ease of use and humorous capabilities of all these features.

Cons: In presentations with large groups, a single individual had the capability to mute the speaker during several parts of the presentation. This feature was frustrating for the presenter until the group determined who was accidentally pushing the mute button on their headset.

Additionally, images shared to a group are sometimes shrunk and not maximizable within the group chat feature.

Other than those two issues, I have no complaints about the software.

Skype adds value to my suite of communication tools.

Pros: There's a lot to like about the design and layout, in both UI and UX terms. It's really easy to use on both Mac and PC, and the mobile app offers significant support.

I also really enjoy the ability to hold large scale teleconference. I've used it to host meetings for approximately 100 people, but it's easily possible to exceed that amount and still have a good connection. I was also able to integrate this with Microsoft Outlook 2016 and other Office Suites Tools. It's also nice to be able to view statuses on both Skype and Outlook and send invitations.

Also, these features are extras but it's nice to have emojis and cards available as well. It helps to add levity and indirect communication to conversations that typically are very literal and can be misinterpreted.

Cons: There's kind of limited file sharing support. Even when downloading a file shared through Skype, you'd have to navigate a very specific file path to where files stored.

I also think that the ability to review chat thread history and manage groups is a bit harder in this iteration of Skype for Business than it needs to be. Better support will come in the future. Syncing also can get really delayed when the group gets too large though.

Overall: I use Skype in conjunction with a few other communication tools for contacting members of my department, spread throughout four cities in two countries. It's a great communication tool and provides good value for the cost. It's great for telecommuting and teleconferencing especially when we're all working at different time. It can be hard to find office space to fit the needed management and support staff members for a meeting; Skype offers a cost effective alternative.

Pros: Desktop app is excellent and reliable. Good call quality. Is available on many platforms, excellent integration with Windows 10 without compromise of Linux version which has good quality now (after few years being neglected). Free and capable offer. Phone calls on desktop are of excellent quality considering you are over internet This market has strong competitors and the fact that is available for so many years is remarkable in software land. But if slack (or similar) had I free group video call and screen sharing, in my humble opinion Skype loose his utility...

Cons: Skype has messed up it's id system over the years. I have 3, and can't delete the other ones, if there is a thing you should do right in software is how you handle your id's and user accounts, shame. Mobile app was launched the same way you throw a pizza over the road for some car to pick up and delivery to a place it doesn't know: a complete mess. They fixed lots of bugs and currently is stable, I guess because I still don't like it, I keep it just for notifications and don't use. I feel like, except for business meetings, I have to insist for people to use Skype, no one in my circle loves it or use it daily, they do however use whatsapp which is not good for business meetings. So there are 3 main kinds of tools competing: Collaboration heavy like slack, business oriented like Skype, and informal personal ones like whats app. I which we could merge the first two.

Pros: Skype for business is a great as A stand-alone communication tool but even better if you are using it within your organization structure along with Microsoft Suite. I have used this within some great companies and have found this to be a very effective communication tool. The fact that you can share relevant information as a team or within private messages makes it easy to track communication. If use with outlook it can back up conversations you have previously had or missed within outlook. When using a Skype thread you can go scroll back through the conversation to recap things that were said. You can also set appointment to your calendar, share important documents on the fly, and video chat if needed to share screens. Skype has worked wonders in our team ability to collaborate. We can see if you are online, busy, on a call, within a meeting, etc when contacting an employee. If sync with your phone, you can work with your team on the go.

Cons: The biggest draw back is that once a conversation window is closed, you can only reference it through outlook. There aren't a search option for keywords used in the conversation unless performing the search through outlook. I find this to be a real pain when recalling things said. It would also be great if he thread continued when conversing with the same person a second it does with personal Skype accounts.

Pros: Skype for business is extremely easy to use and generally very reliable. I supervise 3 staff remotely and work with nearly 100 others spread across 4 offices and 20 home offices, and we use Skype for Business constantly for team meetings, supervision conversations, real-time collaboration, etc. Using SfB has dramatically reduced our email traffic and increased our productivity and efficiency.

Cons: I wish phone support was integrated as part of the tool for folks who are traveling or otherwise unable to join via computer or smart device.

At times, the camera tracking is a bit wonky. I may move my chair slightly and the camera pans WAY to one side or the other. When this feature works well, it's extremely helpful. When it goes overboard, it can be frustrating and distracting.

One of the things I like least about Skype for Business is the lack of a persistent chat. We use Microsoft Teams to meet this need because SfB doesn't provide a solid persistent chat option. Great for quick conversations, not good for ongoing discussions or future reference. Regular Skype has great persistent group chats, so it's a big bummer that SfB doesn't.

Overall: The ability to meet with my team "face to face" from 2,000 miles away is unbelievably valuable. We rely heavily on Skype for Business for our day-to-day operations. As a remote employee, it has allowed me to feel much more connected to my colleagues, my supervisor, and my direct reports. I would recommend it to anyone.

Pros: Skype for Business is one of the most important service from Microsoft office 365. S4B its very user friendly and easy to access, with the help of S4B you can communicate with your company network team member even you can communicate out of the organization people as well.

there is chatting, screen sharing, Voice Call & video call even conferencing call features available. for organization level its very effective & important product. overall Call quality is very very good- Voice call As well Video call. if you re troubleshooting something then you can take S4B call and help of screen sharing you can easily solved & troubleshoot the problem. you can set the meeting, send meeting invitation on S4B.

Cons: software is very good to use but installation process is taking to much time. because it is fetching from Microsoft office 365 so it will take time for downloading then it start installation.

so, installation time is main cons of this product.

sometime not frequently S4B hang during conference call with screen sharing.

Overall: Help of S4B we have managed conference call with client. its very helpful to co-ordinate with employee who not present in office- i mean if employee work from home you can communicate him / her via S4B.

Pros: There are several collaboration software but they are not as perfect as Skype is. I have been using this application since it was launched. It is mind blowing product of Microsoft that allows me to connect with many persons at the same time and provides the best quality services. I love its video, audio calling, audio voice messaging, screen sharing, messaging etc. Skype has god grip on all the features and functions. I love the way they have developed their application in order to provide more comforts to us. well these were the things that made me satisfied user of Skype.

Cons: Skype is good at resolving the problems because they have already talented team. Here for the least thing I do not have much to say but one of the bad issue I would like to highlight here. From some days I am having bad result of video call, not only the video changes the quality of video but also audio voice makes distortion that really looks awful. I do not know whether it is the temporary problem of any kind of update because before it was working 100% nicely.

Overall: There are lots of the benefits are being received by using Skype for business. We can plan online meetings by just using this application. We do not have to arrange physical meetings those require much time of traveling and also ask for a big amount of expenses. It gives us a platform where we can work efficiently. Skype has proved that it is no less than matchless application.

Pros: Skype business allows to organize your contacts under custom categories

Integrates with Outlook

Makes screen sharing with huge groups really easy

setup very similar to regular skype.

Status updates are also a big plus so we can know if people are in meetings or not

Skype is one of the cheapest VoIP services available, offering subscriptions with unlimited minutes.

A Safe and Secure Product by Microsoft

Can save out on a lot of expenses using video calls while traveling

A MUST have product by corporates

Makes communication very easy

The instant messaging app is quite useful

Files, media and documents could be sent easily and quickly

Cons: Unable to dial emergency numbers

Requires a strong internet connectivity for usage in your mobile phone

History can not be deleted even after the chat is deleted

Can't send messages to a person offline

Overall: Skype for business is perhaps the best video chat and messaging tool that enables professionals around the world to communicate with each other. This is the perfect software for companies which have multiple offices across multiple locations. Even when I'm traveling, I am always in touch with my colleagues in my office so I am full aware of the things happening in my absence. Through the instant messaging feature, I am also able to send "beeps" or "pokes" to someone who's reply is needed urgently. I can even share my screen so I can even make presentations if I'm away. A very important tool in business life

Pros: Excellent integration with the Office suite and cross compatible with MacOS, Skype for Business has few of the features of Skype (aside from a logo swap) that Lync didn't have before it. For any institution that is using Active Directory and Outlook, there really isn't a better alternative that integrates so seamlessly with other management tools for telephony and web meetings.

Cons: Lync and Skype for Business have always suffered from bandwidth issues. Even when placing a call within the building, it seems that the traffic must still go out of the building to some server and then come back. Tests with other tools not hosted on premises have similar issues, but one would expect a hosted solution to be smarter. Also, the ability to sync with other businesses using Skype for Business and see free/busy information has never been reliable or helpful, even when explicitly enabled by the administrators.

Overall: Skype for Business works great as a soft phone, and perhaps provides the best clarity and cost savings in that area. Switching from POTS to VOIP in one solution is nice, and the ability to have employees accessing calls using any of the various systems Skype for Business supports (basically any OS on any modern device) is very nice. The ability to "hop on" a meeting is much easier with Skype for Business than WebEx or GoToMeeting due to the integrated nature with Outlook, and sharing the same code base, it's seamless for advanced and novice users alike.

Pros: Easy to use, intuitive, and simple. Makes screen sharing and conference calls simple and effective. Great for simple chats and pinging someone with a basic question or an FYI.

Cons: It can be reliably unreliable. The mobile integration and the online/offline/away/idle status handling is very shoddy. Our users regularly report issues with messages going to one device or another, getting notifications on other devices about "missed messages", and also getting emails stating they had a missed message, but will include the wrong message, or something along those lines. Personally, I've been on work computer, with Skype Business open and logged in, and gotten a notification on my phone via the Skype Business mobile app that I had missed a message. Check my phone to see a single line of the missed message (it didn't even save the whole thing), and then get an email for that same missed message, except it will have a LONG previous conversation chain with the person from whom the message was sent, and then the missed message (which showed up on my phone), and then some extra messages they sent, which were not actually saved in the message thread on the mobile app. All the while, my desktop app is up and running, and completely unaware of any of this activity. I'm not sure why Skype Business has such a hard time with this online/offline and multi-device syncing.

Pros: I like being able to see if the recipient is active to get an immediate response. Email takes too long, however, Skype is immediate. I also like that I can save IMs to my Outlook email folder. I think this may be an update. I can refer to conversations that I had in the past, however, not all conversations are saved - maybe a timer is embedded and saves automatically? I 'm not sure. I also like that I can see the other person typing when they are responding to me, so I don't just sit and stare at the window, especially if I am on the phone with a customer. Saves me time from having to call them back after I get an answer to their questions as I can respond immediately if the other person is available.

Oh, one really cool thing that I love is being able to see the other person's screen remotely so I can understand their question and help them with a solution. I think this is called screen sharing? Love it!

Cons: Sometimes I don't see the notification at the bottom of my screen if I am busy doing something else. I would like to see more emoticons as I think they are very limited.

Also, it's irritating to send an IM when a person is active and they don't respond. I am guessing that they don't see the notification flashing on their screen as I sometimes miss as well.

Overall: It works great!

Pros: This product is great as you can quickly and easily contact someone whether via message or call. You can see someones status ie: online or away which is extremely handy and time saving.

The software also lets you find people in your organisation when you complete a search funtion.

This software is great for presentations with the ability to host and or connect to others with range of usefull features.

Last great thing is remote connection to another computer has become easier than a sneeze. Forget about tweaking millions of settings in order for remote connection to work properly, this does all the hard work for you.

Cons: As great as the search tool is it does have some limitations. You have to get the spelling of your coworkers etc. Perfect, otherwise it will not find them on Skype.

Otherwise you really cant fault this app for what it is. Sure sometimes the connection drops out (very rare) but that could be a factor of numerous things and thus would be unfair to say it is due to Skype.

Overall: You can quickly communicate with coworkers, friends etc. without leaving your computer. Been able to see if some one is ok online is extremely helpful and saves time by reducing pointless calls.

The messaging, remote desktop, presentation mode, contacts details all improve functionality of this software and helps you fulfill almost every office communication task.

Pros: I like it because with this application I can communicate with the work teams from anywhere in the world at a distance through individual and group calls and video calls, send instant messages and share files.

I like to use it because I can communicate with clients quickly, because it is an application that makes calls to any part of the world, calls landlines and mobiles, makes group calls to establish ordinary and extraordinary meetings.

You can make individual and group video calls. send images, emoticons, text messages, voice message. Share files, share the screen in two or group.

are tools aimed at maximizing the use of time in organizations, a product that every day businesses are more demanding and dynamic, by when it requires time to take advantage of the most efficient way to make decisions in a timely manner.

Cons: It has a better presentation of data, information, images and tools, but it is more complicated to access, it requires more click to operate the tools. must carry out usability studies to establish the modifications that are necessary to facilitate the use of the program.

requires an excellent internet connection to work optimally, because, if you do not have such connection, there is interference in communications with the work teams, representing a weakness when you want to report an instruction urgently.

Overall: Thanks to Skype as a tool for communication at a distance with the work teams, operating costs were reduced and the execution times of the strategic instructions of the organization were improved.

The communications and national group meetings with the local instances in the organization have been possible through the use of Skype, which allows the application of the technical technical tools for real-time evaluation.

the use of Skype has allowed the organization to reduce the expenses in the payment of logistics, maintenance of vehicles, per diem, rent of premises, sound and presentation equipment, and air tickets.

Optimization in response times and the implementation of strategic instructions for the organization have been reduced.

Pros: - A quick way to interact with colleagues - it beats sending a formal email which takes much longer - Ability to share your screen with others if you need to show them something visually - You can give people the ability to control your desktop if you choose, i.e. if I'm having a technical issue and I know my colleague can fix it - Popup notifications for new messages so you are always updated of new messages - Ability to see statuses of colleagues - if people are online, busy, etc. so you know whether it's a good time to contact them - Not restricted to contacts within your organization - Ability to give an update to your location/what you're doing, which shows up on the home page so people can have an idea if they can walk over to talk to you, or if they need to give you a call - Sharing files is super easy by clicking on the paperclip icon in a chat - Easy to collaborate by adding people to a conversation - Conversation history automatically saved to Outlook which is a great way to look for prior conversations

Cons: - The product will be sun-setting in the near future and will be replaced by MS Teams - Would be good if it had the ability to sort contacts by the active directory (i.e. my team and direct reports in a particular category)

Pros: Formerly "MS Lync for Windows", Skype for Business does the little things well. And the big things. Need to find a colleague in the directory? Need to set an "Out of Office"? Need to add or replace your profile photo? Have a chat conference with more than one colleague? Make a phone call to a co-worker or anyone else (inside or outside work)? No problem. Just do it from the app - easily. The app is a nice, compact footprint so it doesn't interfere with any other apps that are open.

My favorite task you can do within Skype is video conference and/or share screen. No need for another third party software app - it is included in Skype - AND it is easy. If you are sensing a trend here - you're right. Skype for Business makes doing the things you want/need to accomplish as easy as a mouse click.

Cons: This software does have issues sometimes when it comes to VOIP while more than one person on the call access Skype via VPN. Long gaps of conversation can be missed when the call just "blanks out" for 2, 3, 5 seconds here and there. If the phone call is just for daily business - no problem. If you are attempting to speak with a future client about a multi-million dollar deal - use the landline on your desk.

Overall: Easy, convenient communication with colleagues and in a variety of ways.

Pros: First off, I must disclose that I have been incorporating Skype for Business for an extended duration for business and personal use. What I like most about this tool is that it is easy to install, setup, and reset up even without getting any training. Skype for Business has all the features that makes it easy to communicate in our corporation. For instance, we are able to have video conferencing with the help of this communication software. I also like the way Skype for Business is readily available 24/7, that way there is no limitation to pass information within our agency. Finally, it is easy to express your feelings while communicating with Skype for Business since it has emoticons and mojis for such capabilities.

Cons: What I like least is the way this tool produces poor quality sound while making a call in an area with poor cloud computing. In addition, I do not like how free version of Skype for Business lacks vital communication features. To get the most out of it, you need to pay for it, whose license cost per user is extremely high.

Overall: Skype for Business has enabled us to save time and effort while transferring files, images, and links. In our corporation, we have a common group that enables us to work together and keep updated. Lastly, with Skype for Business it is easy to carry out corporate meetings.

Pros: I like how easy it is to use, and a list of features. I like that I can easily drag, drop, and share images and files into a chat conversation. I love that I can start an audio call, switch to video, start a screen share, and message while on a call. There is no other service out there that offers ALL of these options in one package. If you do need to purchase a phone service to call real phones, or even have a real phone number where you can be called, their pricing is surprisingly decent! Compare it to a cellular phone plan or land-line, you'll be pleasantly shocked.

Cons: You used to be able to create groups like "work friends," "family," "gamer friends" etc. These groups would appear in your contact list, and you could drag and drop contacts into these sections, in any order you chose. It was really easy to add individual contacts or contact groups to these and organize your list of contacts. This is no longer the case. I absolutely detest the manner in which the new address book feature works, and the fact that my contacts can only appear by most recently contacted rather than groups and alphabetical or custom order.

Overall: I used to live and work in the Philippines, as well as all over America. Audio and video calls are simple, easy and free with this (app to app) service, and it is quite remarkable.

The robust video conferencing and screen sharing is invaluable, and instant messaging also great for quick communication in light of the focus being video conferencing helps maintain a professional appearance, as opposed to social network instant messages which also offers video conferencing on the side.

The ubiquity of this early market leader (nay, pioneer) may be fading somewhat, but it still has a very wide adoption. The recent addition of adding contacts based on their email or phone from your address book has hugely facilitated it's usage and adoption by a wider audience.

There's been a great reduction in the number of spam contacts requests, which tells me the developers are working to eliminate it.

Cons: Both desktop and mobile apps have suffered instability for the last couple years, notably more so since the time of the original developer's exit due to the sale and takeover.

The centralisation of the service, as opposed to the old peer to peer method, has also seen a slew of downtime over the years. It's by no means enough to preclude our usage, particularly as it's embedded in the minds of so many users, but some of our clients have requested we use a more stable platform.

Overall: Thanks to Skype, we were able to attract and engage clients remotely who were either too far to travel to, or who couldn't afford to add the cost of our travelling for meetings to their project.

The security and trust that comes from seeing a live face in a video conferencing meeting has helped clients make the decision to trust our services when interacting with us remotely.

Pros: 1. Seamless integration with Outlook. I get to see convenient details like out-of-office statuses on my contact list and how long they have been offline.

2. I can choose to appear offline if I want. This really helps with my focus on work, if not chat windows that pop up from people reaching out to me can be very distracting.

3. I can use Skype for Business with my wireless earphones to make calls, which I could not do with the traditional teleconferencing phones that my previous company used to have.

Cons: 1. "Message is not sent" alert that sometimes accompanies my instant messages to my contact has no detailed explanation of why, or ways to troubleshoot. When I sign out and back into Skype, these problems disappear.

2. Seems pretty demanding on network speed since it does not work on my company VPN, so I end up having to drop off VPN to connect to Skype calls. I don't have that issue with other apps when I'm VPN-ed into the company network.

3. Despite the seamless integration with Outlook, I constantly get a "Exchange needs your credentials..." alert on Skype whenever I change my Outlook password (corporate security requirement). Does not affect the Skype experience, but just annoying to see an orange alert bar constantly on the Skype app window.

Pros: I have been using Skype for about 10 years and I will say it has come a long way in terms of reliability and functionality. I've used the software to talk with people while gaming, have conference calls/meetings, or just to catch up with family and friends if we're far away from one another and wanted to chat over webcam. Assuming both parties internet connections are fairly strong, the video and voice quality is always great and clear. In addition, I love how you can share different pictures, document, files, or even screen share if need be. Screen sharing is great because if you are having computer troubles or your parents are you can easily hop on Skype and see the other persons screen and tell them what to do. Skype is a great tool and the fact that (almost) all it's features are free is amazing!

Cons: Only complaint is that there can be loading issues with screen sharing not working, or choppy video quality or voice quality but I can't really blame this as being Skype's problem. Assuming both users, like I said before, have fairly good internet quality, you can use Skype seamlessly. So Skype isn't great if your internet quality is poor. Therefore, you might be better just doing a phone call or try to FaceTime if that's the case for you.

Comments: Skype is well-known brand that has a strong confidence rating. Skype for Business is a strong option for companies looking to streamline and cut costs, especially when communicating with multiple offices and clients.

Pros: If you are familiar with Skype, making the leap to it's Business platform is a smooth transition and one to consider for business owners. One of the most notable Pros is the savings on mobile phone expenses while keeping reliable service. From larger companies to smaller ones, calls around the globe can rack up quickly. Skype for Business charges a nominal fee to use and offers a number of distinct plans that best suit your business. On top of the basic Skype functions, you have the ability to organize calls to workers at the same time or at scheduled intervals. Skype Business gives you the option to track incoming calls and even to bounce those calls to another worker if the first one isn't available. It also archives the date in a SQL database for you. When comparing Skype for Business against its competitors, it gives a much wider range of options when it comes to formats like video conferencing, telephone, instant messaging and email, are all covered in a single platform. Skype is owned by Microsoft so the benefits of that are obvious, making troubleshooting and customer support easier.

Cons: Skype for Business is solid but does have the occasional drawback. Issues seem to arise when large number of people are tied in. For example, video may not record when over 25 people are in the meeting or sound issues when a large number of people are on the call. These issues aren't constant but it's something to be aware of. Set up for Skype for Business can be involved for the average person and will most likely need assistance from Skype.

Works fine for chatting with co-workers, but has significant issues with managing threads.

Pros: The only good thing I can say about Skype for Business is that I can find the contact info for any co-worker and start a chat immediately. This breaks down the barrier of having to know specific email addresses or usernames to search for people you need to communicate with - instead I can simply search for the person's name, and am able to immediately start a chat.

Cons: There is one glaring issue with Skype for Business that is so large that it makes the entire experience very difficult to handle - poor management of Chat Threads. Whenver you start a 'new' chat with a person you have had a previous chat thread with, Skype for Business will create a NEW DUPLICATE chat thread with the same person. Unless you explicitly and intentionally re-join an existing chat thread with a person, a new chat threat will be started with the same person. This causes the creation of several different chat threads with the same person. This bloats the chat window and makes the service almost unusable when you have even a small chat list. To compound this issue, the deletion of old chat threads is unreliable - sometimes it takes deleting a thread 3 or 4 times before it is removed, sometimes you can not remove it at all in a given session. This issue with not being able to delete chat threads makes the first issue of new thread creation even more unbearable to use.

Overall: Easy to start a chat with anyone in the company by simply searching for their name.

Pros: It is easy to install, set up and execute. It requires no special skills for one to use it. Again, it has several features, for instance, video and audio calls, chats, storage platform among others which goes along way into solving business problems. Since it is a cloud based application, you can access it anytime at any place. In terms of security measures, Skype for Business is on point where no authorized persons can gain access. The support team is also responsive in case of any queries. It is easy to customize and an interactive interface.

Cons: Skype for Business requires strong network which is not always available. The application is also not effective when using android devices. Furthermore, the application does not come cheap and many people cannot afford it.

Overall: In general, Skype for Business is the most reliable and safe platform for both business and individual communication. I think the vendor took enough time to identify the communication challenges that affect businesses and this made it possible to come up with an effective communication tool. Some features such as video conferencing reduces both time and cost incurred by organizations when it comes to communication. What I like most about Skype for Business is the ease of installation and maintenance. I would highly any business any business nor individual to use Skype for Business.

Pros: What I like most about Skpe for Business is that it is easy to install, set-up and start using, without necessarily outsourcing third party services. Skpe for Business has a slick design and simple interface that makes it easy to use and get used to. Skpe for Business has all the features that meets communication needs in our agency. For example, Skpe contacts allows us to keep track of contact information. On the other hand, Skype group makes it simple to communicate in our agency by sharing files, images and links. That way, it helps to save teams time and effort since no effort is used to spread information in the entire organization. Personally, when I am not around the business premises, I use Skype to send spreadsheet files and payroll data to the manager of accounts. Skpe for Business has helped the team who skip conferences and meetings not to lack behind, since video and audio recording makes it simple for them.

Cons: The fact that you cannot use Skpe for Business in absence of internet connection makes it hard if you have poor cloud computing.

Overall: This tool is a great solution, since it makes it easy to communicate even when we are not together. Sharing files, links, screenshots, and images is more convenient with Skpe for Business.

Pros: A very rewarding experience because it allowed me to present my thesis online graduate can share the PowerPoint presentation to the jury, have a nice friendly environment, allowing us feel as if we were all in the same place. It also allows me to schedule meetings with colleagues and companies that are geographically distant and can choose to meet instantly or schedule the meeting from Outlook for later, providing personalized meeting URLs. And for me one of its main advantages is that it is compatible with different operating systems such as Windows, Windows, iOS, to Android.ya Mac, allowing you to connect from any device as: PC / Mac, iPhone, iPad, conference phone VoIP, on the other hand, allows to share the video, the file exchange and the call in a uniform and friendly interface, which gathers everything in a single platform. Its characteristics, like the blackboard in the odos together, can make drafts, draw and edit as if we were in the same room, it is really useful. It also facilitates integrated instant messaging which allows us to send instant messages during business meetings to offer new ideas. Free online meetings for up to 10 people without a subscription, and unlimited for those who have a subscription, also provides online supports

Cons: They charge per user per month and have an annual commitment, both in the Business Plan and in the general user, and in the free version only 10 people can join the meeting

Overall: It allowed me to make the presentation of my postgraduate thesis from the food of my house, without having to trasaladarme to another state, and I offer all the tools such as sharing the power point presentation, use the blackboard for the question and answer session, to be able to share the screen to be able to visualize all of us, which gave us a feeling of being all in the same room. On the other hand, it allows me to keep in touch with companies and colleagues who are in different countries and to carry out projects together

Pros: There are a lot of advantages that you have with this Software, it is really good and it allows you to improve the communication in an incredible way, to be able to access the platform as such you only need to have an account and have the application downloaded either on the phone, tablet or on the pc, it's really good.

It is a software that allows you to work in a group, make presentations where you can have an opinion, you can share files

Throughout the business conversions, you can add text, video, share images and even share a screen, everyone can share their opinions and share ideas

It should be noted that it is really an application that is very easy to use and with a wide range of options and utility when managing the projects of a company

Cons: The only bad thing about skype for business is that there is no way to try it for free, that is, it is necessary to pay for the use of the platform always, really the price is not high, but sometimes many users require a free trial to know if the software really meets expectations and then proceed to pay for the use

Overall: Wonderful experience, I like it a lot.

Within the company has allowed to reduce the time of communication, it is much easier.

allows that at the time of any emergency we can be in contact and if it is necessary to make decisions, carry out a certain online meeting among those involved and know what will be done in each case.

Pros: Instant messaging has been around since the dawn of the internet, so there's little really to improve here in that regard. What Skype did to change the game was provide the world with the most reliable, user friendly, mainstream method of video chat communication. Skype is a godsend to anyone in a business that has regular dealings with international partners and customers, and makes long-distance meetings actually engaging instead of worrying about getting distracted yelling at a speaker phone. On top of all that, Skype's built in feature of allowing you to share your screen with another user is an IT professional's dream. Suddenly even the most computer illiterate colleague can arrange to have you take the wheel and observe what they're experiencing first hand instead.

Cons: My complaints about Skype are situational at best. Like any telecommunications software, dropped calls are always a possibility that probably won't ever be permanently solved. Dropped video is the same. While the share screen feature is helpful, there are other programs that do it better, like TeamViewer. Skype could be monolithic if it would borrow some of TeamViewer's features as its own.

Pros: Skype for business is a great application because as a user i am able to do a few things such as; Obviously Messaging, video calls, create groups and chat within, but more importantly i am able to share documents and images, and also skype for bushiness sync well with outlook. The is the most important feature I love, since all my meetings automatically pull up skype messaging.

Moreover, there is an app for android and IOS users to use skype for business and it syncs well with the desktop application i can take my calls and messaging on the go if i am not at my desk. Also i can record my sessions for meetings which is built in the app.

And last but not the least is, the status; Skype for business is the best feature of all, i am able to see who is on the call or is busy or even available.

Cons: Perhaps to include history option for chats, it would be good to store recent chats or even archive them and store them over the cloud, because once i delete the chat i cannot recover the chats.

Overall: The great features are for using this application: Instant Messaging, video calls, share docs and other files, ability to chat on the go via mobile app, ability to invite multiple attendees, create groups for chats, and much more.

Using skype from last 4 years, wonderful experience for view conferencing and screen sharing.

Pros: I use this software almost every day and mostly its instant message feature that we use to communicate with team members of offshore and onshore teams.

Other main use of this software for me is that we need to share screen content and it gives us flexibility for sharing the screen. Moreover its very easy to learn and understand. You can used to this simple but feature enrich software in few days. Calling is also a good experience with this software. Call recording is an additional feature provided in this software that we used to use when we are receiving some kind of training or Knowledge transfer sessions. Scheduling meetings and easy view of the schedules agendas is too that i like about this software. I use app as well as windows version of this software. One good thing is even when yo are offline and somebody pings you, you receive an email for the missed conversation.

Cons: The main difficulty is the network on video conferencing that sometimes we failed to get the audio of the other party. I use the app for this software so sometimes i receive chat in app but sometimes i notice that the same chat is missing to show in desktop version.

Pros: Clean, intuitive interface.

Much improved from Lync.

Beyond just instant messaging, SfB allows phone calls, video conferencing, and screen-sharing.

Great integration with Outlook calendar and Contacts. I love being able to create a meeting with a click of a button and it inserts the meeting instructions into the event description.

Cons: Limited features on MacOS desktop app.

Cannot attach files/images/gifs.

Chat history struggles to sync across multiple devices. I have an iMac and MacBook and the conversations do not sync, so I cannot see half of my chats.

Conversations aren't consistently consolidated by contact. Meaning, I might have 4 separate open conversations showing in my "chats" for the same contact. It doesn't combine all chats for the same person. Randomly, certain conversations will be missing when restarting the program. Sometimes the same contact has shown different "status" based on the conversation. The same contact may show "Offline" and "Available".

No external software extensions or integrations.

It periodically won't log me in and I have to restart my machine.

Cannot manage/edit my own avatar. I've gone to the web app as well.

Cannot create Contact Groups from MacOS desktop app.

Overall: Although inconsistent, it syncs with our large organization's international employee base. When it works, the integration with our Office 365 plan is helpful and shows potential.

Pros: This is a very useful tool for scheduling meetings when a company has several branches in the same country or outside it, it has several useful functions such as annotations, question and answer session control, it has high image and audio quality, it allows recording meetings, allowing more than 200 participants per meeting, being able to schedule virtual meetings saves time and money since it prevents different representatives or workers from traveling to be present at a meeting. This application can be installed on any portable computer with internet connection, for this and many reasons Skype business is the best solution for transnational companies and small businesses to be in direct contact with all the management personnel.

Cons: I do not have negative observations, since I consider it an excellent solution for meetings with different representatives of a company, customers, employees, partners, regardless of where in the world they are or the distance that exists, they only need a portable computer with connection to internet, this tool offers very good functions that allows recording the entire meeting to make timely annotations, the quality of audio and video is magnificent, you can download the application on different devices which facilitates communication, allows the meeting administrator to take control of the conference and silence one or all of the participants to avoid the distortion of the information transmitted in the meeting allowing a cycle of questions and answers, in general terms it is a pretty good software.

Overall: Schedule meetings with members of the company located in different cities of the country. Maintain a more direct contact with the management staff and senior management, in addition to meetings with a punctual staff of the company, the reduction of costs for travel expenses and lodging, better use and use of time

My experience is generally great. Skype is highly accessible making it convenient to use.

Pros: The biggest strength of Skype is accessibility. You can access it through your mobile devices via the app, from your desktop or laptop via the Skype program or even from a public computer through a browser. This makes Skype accessible virtually anywhere there is an internet connection. So if you are in a business trip in a foreign city and you find yourself in a situation where you lost your mobile devices and your laptop, you can still connect to Skype from a public computer via a browser and report the incident to your organization's security officer.

Cons: Sometimes there is a lag in displaying your online status on the side of other users. This happens when you've just signed in and instead of showing up as online to your contacts as soon as you get online on your end, there is a wait time that can take up to a minute before you show up as online on your contacts' end. This can be because of the internet connectivity on your end and on the end of your contacts but I think a minute of lag can still be improved.

Overall: Nearly uninterruptible availability when it comes to communications. As long as there is an internet connection, you are reachable through Skype.

Pros: Skype for business is a perfect way to stay connected with your clients and colleagues all over the world at a very minimum cost.

Skype for Business allows users to add up to 250 People in a meeting and you can also exchange and show presentations because it's also integrated with Microsoft office apps.

It's a bundle of video calling, Telephone, and instant messaging, all available at one place. The best part is that it saves a lot of business expenses , Video conferencing feature saves a lot of traveling cost. It's widely used and users are always connected to Skype because its always for all the major platforms including Android and IOS.

Cons: Skype has lots of benefits and i could observe two problems as well, Sometime little connection interruption can cause you to be sign out from the app. And if you have more than 24 participants in a meeting video starts to lag sometimes. Otherwise, it worthy of every single penny because its wonderful.

Overall: Skype helped in bringing our client close to us, Video conferencing is very useful tool and everyone is just a single click away. No need to travel, when you can have all your clients with you all the time.

Pros: What I like most about Skype for Business is its additional features such as video and audio calls, chats, contact lists, among others, and this makes it unique and ideal for business communications. Again, the platform is easy to use and manage, therefore, it requires minimal skills or training. Besides, it is possible to have chats with a single person, where one can also include other more participants. Lastly, with Skype for Business, it is possible to manage your contact lists by establishing your favorite contacts or by creating a contact group.

Cons: What I dislike about Skype for Business is its compatibility with Android phones. The software seems to be hard on Android System, where it even causes a slow connection. Again, Skype for Business is easily affected by a poor network connection, and this affects the voice or audio calls.

Overall: Skype for Business is one of the most reliable communication platforms for businesses and individuals. It creates a lasting connection between different individuals, and this improves the operations of an organization. Again, Skype for Business is less expensive compared to other platforms, and this lowers the entire business production costs.

Pros: We deployed this software at our company where we had no instant messaging software before. The servers are relatively easy to setup (we do not use Enterprise voice, which would make it more complex) and the deployment to all our users was really quick. It's very easy to bulk activate/deactivate users with PowerShell, and once we had the servers in place and had our users trained it has required very minimal maintenance. Our users enjoy instant messaging and screen sharing. It did take some time to get those trained who were used to using GoToMeeting before, but now that it's been a few years the training issues have slowed down. I personally use this product everyday and can't imagine my work day without it.

Cons: Pushing out customizations to the UI is a little difficult. We push out a few registry changes that change default options to optimize the user experience. It would be nice to have more options in Group Policy to push out. External vendors sometimes have trouble using this in a web browser because the screen sharing is very small unless they make it full screen in IE.

Overall: Productivity and collaboration

Pros: It is relatively intuitive and easy to roll out enterprise wide. From what I understand, the software is far less expensive than other competitors. It integrates seamlessly with Outlook which is very helpful, especially if you are scheduling tons of teleconferences. the contact panel is easy to manage various teams/groups of employees and pulls from your global address book.

Cons: White this software gives you a great 'bang for your buck' - it doesnt offer all the bells and whistles of other competitors like WebEx. - but doesnt have the group chat channels like MS Teams would or slack. It also doesnt allow you to subscribe to various information streams - it functions more like a AOL AIM software for the business. Also, MAC users and external partners have difficulty joining my teleconferences, with frequent audio issues and dropped calls. Sometimes they are able to successfully join the audio without the visual.

Overall: easy, instant, inexpensive communication to my teams. At a glance view of employee status (on or offline). Group conversations - good supplement to lengthy phone calls and meetings. Better, more real time sharing of information. easy teleconference implementation.

Pros: More than 75% of my friends and colleagues use skype for making video calls. All of them say people are always available on skype than any other platform. There are a lot of similar applications in the market now, but the popularity of skype is the still the same for last 8-10 years. When there were no similar and powerful apps like skype is available in the market, people were all using it and they are not ready to change to another platform because of how useful skype is. I decided to give it a try to Google Duo last month but I was not able to see any of my friends there. I had to invite all of them to the new platform but only a few were interested. The video call quality was not any better than what skype has been offering for last 10 years.

Cons: The main drawback of skype is lack of features. The other similar applications like slack, Google duo are trying to get the market share by introducing new features every week, skype is still in the old track. They only update the once every 3-4 months and never honestly try to add anything that makes the app experience more pleasing.

Pros: We have been using skype business tool extensively in our organization for quick chats, video calls, and remote connections

1. High-quality video calls possible. Video calls work seamlessly. Is useful when you need to have a quick meeting with your team outside the office.

2. Remote connection makes it possible to take control of the target system easily. Also, we can easily share our desktop with team members/coworkers for training, presentations, etc. This option works seamlessly and is a life saver in many circumstances.

3. Document sharing and integration with Office365 is handy. Video recording is another very helpful feature.

4. We can easily know the status of our coworkers if they are free or busy and can show our status to others when we are presenting or in a meeting.

Cons: 1. Having multiple chats/conversation open makes it unresponsive and eventually crashes. This is the foremost point they need to work on.

2. Syncing takes a long time sometimes. Is frustrating when you are in a hurry.

Overall: Skype business is an indispensable tool in any organization. Meetings, chat, and conference with your clients and coworkers works like a magic on skype. We have been using Skype in our organization for the last two years. Apart from some minor errors and issues, we have never faced any problem.

Easy to set up, manage many connections and calls, share video and screens, Skype does what many other platforms do now, and when it works it does them well. The ability to chat and share messages is great, though many other more recent platforms do the same thing and work a little bit better. While a solid choice, many companies who use it share that others sometimes have problems.

Cons: The software updates have really made this a bloated piece of software, in the bad tradition of Microsoft. Part of it is because this is an older technology and the new requirements bring leaner applications that do everything Skype does. On Windows for example, performance is spotty, and some users have many challenges connecting, talking, and sharing. Mac runs into the same problem, as the new OS makes the old SKype technology less effective. What I don't like about Skype is the number of smart people i know complaining about it, and how people they try to connect to complain about it. It's becoming way too common now.

Overall: I like it and it works on my computer set up, but I don't like how many people have a hard time using it, or choose other solutions with more recent software that is built for this new mobile world. Skype isn't bad, it's old, and showing some flaws, and while I still use it, I use other tools more often. That says alot, and I'm an experienced user, but my clients and contacts find it more and more frustrating to use.

Pros: With Skype for Business, communication within and outside our organization are enabled. As a result, thus supports team work, and collaboration. Skype for Business has a Chat tab, where team members can form a group and discuss their respective issues, and come up with different solutions. Skype for Business supports Video Conferencing, which improves the process of decision making, and reduces the expense incurred by firms when holding meetings. Furthermore, Skype for Business has a storage capacity, which people use to store their information and share among the intended recipients.

Cons: Skype for Business in Android Phones is slow and sluggish. It seems like this product is not completely compatible with these devices. The vendor should improve Skype for Business to make it light and working in Android devices.

Overall: Critical features for a successful communication process are reliability, timeliness, safety, and accuracy of the conveyed information. Skype for Business has passed all these tests, making it the most reliable communication business channel. The support team is great and works 24hrs to offer technical assistance to their subscribers.

Pros: Skype for Business is the most reliable and safest communication tool for our business. It has significant features that makes it unique and the best among other communication tools. For instance, it has a video conferencing feature, which makes it possible for us to hold meetings anytime, any place. Again, it supports chats, where we hold important discussions by other team members. Lastly, its security measures are on point, where no individual who can gain its access without the users authorization.

Cons: Unfortunately, Skype for Business is an expensive product, where only the well established firms that can afford it. I suggest that Microsoft to lower the subscription cost so that many people can gain its access. Lastly, its accessibility with Android devices is at question. They should make it more compatible and efficient.

Overall: Our communication challenges were solved by Skype for Business. Currently, we spend little time to make a communication within our organization. Again, holding meetings for the past few times has been effective and efficient. Skype for Business is a perfect tool that supports and facilitate the process of communication.

Pros: To accelerate and guarantee the progress of your company, you must have a first-class communication between teams anywhere, and Skype for Business is excellent for this task, besides its cost is acceptable for medium-sized companies, it offers a first class service Permit to make video calls, video conferences and many other things, always keep the communication anywhere, being always accessible to your work team or workers of the company, also has an excellent point in favor that is the integration with office can submit very easy document or presentations at meetings, plus the VoIP service is very reliable and high quality, really that this tool offers many first-rate services that will help your company always.

Cons: One of the problems of service is that sometimes it has drawbacks with the quality of the microphone service and the camera, lowering a lot of quality in an instant, I do not know if it is due to a drop in the quality of the internet or simply the application, but when this happens, it greatly impedes the flow of the meeting or presentation.

Pros: Ease of use, as it doesn't require any technical backgrounds to set up on a pc, in addition to the availability of a web version (in case IT have not installed it yet on the work pc/laptop) Almost everyone has it, and those who don't can sign in through guest features. Conference calls can be set up easily and don't require high bandwidth for a clear voice and video call. We sometimes also use it as an internal chat messenger while discussing projects across offices especially for team members located across multiple stakeholders or working in different countries. It helped our company lower costs for international and conference calls, and provided us with an easy and simple way to present to clients and management through screen sharing feature.

Cons: Used to be buggy but most of the bugs got ironed out in the past few years. Some of the recent updates made the user interface too crowded and added unnecessary features. But I am glad this is getting sorted out and becoming more optional than mandatory with the latest updates.

Pros: Skype for Business (Lync) is, by far, the best communication software for your daily work. It literally allows me to work from home, while traveling or in the office. It is also good to see the status of my colleagues and if they are at your desk, in a meeting, or are available to call or chat. The interface is easy to use and I like the size of the window, since it is automatically loaded, It integrates with other Microsoft applications. Video conferencing is excellent when team members are not in the same location (across the country or in the world) and reduces the cost of calls. Skype offers a unified communications system with multiple formats including videoconferencing, telephone, im and email, all available on a single platform.

Cons: One thing I do not like is that I can not always trace previous conversations unless it's a persistent chat. I can recover some, but not all.

Overall: We use the video portion to a large extent, but the whiteboard and instant messaging functions also work very well for better collaboration. Screen sharing is also a very useful feature.

Pros: - You can add up to 250 to an online meeting.

- The ability to chat via messaging rather then ringing, this means I can quickly write a message and let someone get back to me when they can if they are unable to answer the phone.

- Its really handy being able to type a number and see the name as well, or in contrast typing the name of someone and having the number come up so I can easily find someone in the business quickly.

- Helps the business save on travel expenses as we can easily communicate from a skype video call.

- It integrates with other Microsoft products which we use within the business which is really handy.

- Works on all devices that are used within the business whether that be iOS, Android and windows phone.

Cons: - Sometimes the video calls can lag or have issues but that is down to the wifi probably more then the software.

- The odd times it can have errors but that is a incredibly small amount of times that it may have ever occured.

Overall: As a company we really benefit as we save a lot of money from not having to fork out a lot on travel expenses as we can communicate via a video call. Additionally we also save a lot of time as we have a easily accessibly address list at hand available where we can search for not only numbers but names making us more efficient at work. Finally one big benefit is the ability to forward calls on so we can use to on multiple devices if we are not at our desk meaning we never miss a call at all.

This is very user intuitive software that has amazing connectivity features.

Pros: I love the fact that it is easily configured on multiple devices. You can connect people from within and outside your organisation. Fact that you can integrate commercial Skype and Skype for Business if the model offers. The software design is easy to navigate, you don't actually need to refer to user guides. The MS team however has plenty of handy kiosks, literature available to promote the product within the organization that doesn't even need curation. You can use polls during meetings, you can present your desktop, share other documents, send real time docs simply over an IM chat and much more. Thus ease of use, multiple device options, federation feature, seamless connectivity, quality streaming are some of the best features in my opinion.

Cons: I am not sure if this is an app technical issue or an issue within my org framework, sometimes when there is a Skype for Business call, the deck being presented is not visible in the Skype for Business app, but the presentation is visible on the Skype for Business web version.

Pros: Generally with our colleagues who are in remote locations we have had the need to implement a robust and high quality conference solution, that is why we decided to opt for Microsoft Skype for Business, really the quality of calls and video calls are of a quality impressive, we have been able to integrate all users of the Active Directory in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Outlook and maintain a very effective cominication, what has been more functional is the planning of conferences with several members of the organization is phenomenal.

The use of this tool is very simple and I have quickly adapted the ease of its use.

I would recommend it for all the simplicity and its functionality

Cons: There is little I can say as contras that this product has, since we are very content, however the cost can be one of the most relevant points, since for a company to maintain the licensing can be difficult, sometimes important thing is the impeccability of integrate them with the phones, the rest is going very well

Overall: Maintain communication within the institution where I work is indispensable, this software has helped us a lot, share the experience of using it I like it, because I can help other future buyers who are looking for a very useful tool that is easily integrated into the environment of work, I would not hesitate to recommend it, as well as recommend this evaluation software, where many of us are dedicated to evaluate tool surprisingly very useful

Pros: Comes bundled with rest of the Microsoft suite of products & integrates really well with outlook and other tools. Easy embed plugin with outlook is great for setting up meetings for both internal & external participants. Makes perfect sense in scenarios where IT departments have strict firewall configurations and it's hard to use IM tools like Jabber, Slack or web conferencing solutions like Webex, Join.me. Ideal for screen share & hosting multiple participants.

Cons: No record option to record meetings, especially ones with video+ppt share. Collaboration can be made more seamless by offering participants to annotate particular sections of screenshare. Would love to see more features around collaboration, over & above usual screen share. Including voting & survey options. Should be a one-stop-shop for all my meeting needs.

Would like to see integration with Linkedin & automatic import of contacts.

Overall: Ideal for collaborating with internal participants & vendors. And also love the ability to see status of folks in who are in my network but beyond the walls of business.

Pros: Access from anywhere, Skype for Business goes with you wherever you go.

Integration with Office, Skype for Business and Office applications work together creating easier transitions and fewer interruptions. When productivity and communication tools are together, working with others is easier. And thanks to this harmony it is possible to co-create and collaborate while working on the applications that you use every day such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Call monitoring, You'll always know who you're talking to.

Enterprise Voice, Modernize and simplify telephony in your business. You can call co-workers in your VoIP or organizational PBX network, and you can also call any telephone number even outside your organization.

Cons: It is necessary to have a correct Internet connection. From a tablet or a smartphone, we can have problems if we are not connected to a Wi-Fi network.

There are usually problems related to the quality of the microphone and also to the resolution of the webcam to make a quality video call.

Overall: Skype calls have a high sound quality and are highly secure!!

The software is highly secure, since the free version encrypts voice, files and text messages with an AES 256-bit resolution algorithm.

Pros: The ease of communicating with employees across the office is the only thing that keeps me using this product, and the same goes for most of my coworkers. The ability to send files is helpful, as well.

Cons: Being able to edit one's Skype after sending is something that, as an HR Manager, makes my life more difficult. I have to warn employees that Skype conversations are not counted as final word or considered an agreement unless it is backed up by an e-mail ESPECIALLY if I see that any "edits" were made after the fact. The other issue is that we have constant problems with users being shown as "away" when they're at their desks and active on Skype. I personally have an issue with responses appearing BEFORE the original message sent, which makes for a very confusing issue if I'm trying to look back on a previous conversation. There have been days where I can't log in because Skype is loading continuously for hours at a time... just full of glitches and bugs.

Overall: Nothing really, except that I don't have to walk across the building to send a quick message to someone in another department.

Pros: You can share your desktop in order to do a presentation to your customer or collegues, do a conference call or video call. You can create a meeting request from outlook with the AddIn of skype, and it will send an email with the link of the meeting - the customer can click it and it will install a little plugin and that's it, he can join to the meeting without have Skype for business. If you want you can give the control of you desktop to some collegue. Or you can record the meeting, do a poll, share files, etc.

It is a nice tool when you need to ask something to a collegue that may you don't have his phone number because he is in other location, so you just looking for him in the contacts and chat/call him. Or if the collegue need support and your company doesn't use teamviewer for example.

Cons: Sometimes when the person request for the control of the desktop and you give him, it will lose it. And the person should request it again. Another issues is when I use earphones with mic, sometimes I donesn't detect them - so I have to go to the 'Audio devices' on Skype for business and select them manually (I don't know if it is a Windows issue or a Skype issue).

Pros: I'm an academic that spends considerable amounts of time on research with colleagues that are spread all over the country. Collaborating efficeintly can be a challenge, and spending hours on the telephone can be tedious and tiresome. Much of the collaboration involves running complex statistical analyses in various sofware packages, and also lots of time in Microsoft Word working on and editing the research paper together. The projects I'm working on with colleagues that use Skype allow for far more productive collaboration.

At the most basic level, simply having good sound quality on a group call without having to hold a telephone or use a speakerphone (which all seem to be universally terrible) is very helpful. Enabling video chat, when it makes sense to do so, also helps to add another dimension to the calls that breaks down some of the distance barriers. But to me the most helpful feature is the screen sharing. Whereas we previously would have all opened the same document and done our best to stay in sync ("I'm on the top of pg. 27 in the 2nd paragraph now"), we can now easily all collaborate and see exactly what is on the screen.

Cons: The sound quality has been a bit spotty at times. I suspect this is due to a poor internet connection of one of my colleagues, and not the fault of Skype, but it's annoying all the same.

Pros: Skype was chosen by us in order to streamline other Microsoft products we use (Office, MSExchange mail...). It has been around for a long time, and true enough, it has been a workhorse and a reliable and cheaper option to make calls within the same office or across borders to different countries all over the world.

It is great that a personal skype can also use to call contacts using the Skype for Business.

Aside from instant messaging, one feature I love is the ability to record both the Audio and Video calls. And the limit to the number of simultaneous attendees is great for a large audience, capped at 250 pax.

Cons: Not everyone uses Skype... understandably since there are tons of competition. I just wish there is a way to unify platforms (e.g., call hangout contacts via Skype.) There is a way, e.g., asking them to get a Google Voice Number, for a cost.

Overall: For the price vs features plus the reliability of the tried and tested, the Skype for Business is a must-have communication software for any company who's serious about productivity and expansion.

Pros: This application cover following features:

- It's available in my iOS mobile devices, cross OS platforms (Windows, Mac)

- It allows the integration with Outlook so I could held a Skype meeting from Outlook ribbon menu and send it out through the email to all of the meeting participants and have it added to Outlook calendar.

- It allows to share screen (desktop or specific application) so I could have a remote presentation session

- It allows me to allow someone to take control of my desktop to provide guidance.

- It allows me to manage the contacts list and I could message or call and collaborate with anyone from the contact list

- When I'm online, I could set my status and visibility for others to be seen

- I could see the conversation history and also the missed calls if someone tried to reach me and I failed to attend the call

Cons: I do not have the recording capability for a meeting session.

Pros: The efficiency and quality of services in this version of Skype are better continuous in communication, when making calls and video calls used in the confessions the image is very clear and sound in the same way, in addition to functions such as chat and sharing files are very well elaborated, satisfying diverse needs in the users, also it must be taken in cosideracionque the costs of the service plans are very flexible and respond to diverse budgets both for the organization and even personally, for that reason it is an option not only good but it is the best for products of this prestige and functionality.

Cons: It is necessary to have a stable internet connection for the correct operation of the product, even though it can be used anywhere in the world and in different devices this aspect is fundamental, especially if it is the call or video call service.

Overall: Improve internally the labor relations with other members and professionalize the daily work, and if the image offered by the product is dedicated to the business or organizational level, in my case since I implemented this software the results are well known, the quality, efficiency and warranty are one of the aspects that I have taken into account, and the truth is very promising.

Pros: I first started using normal skype for business calls also and then saw their business version. I need to say it's not that far from regular one though if new functionalities are there considering you are a mid-size business.

1.- You can have the data of your employees' contact information stored here easily given the fact that the new employees are aware of the process

2.- No need to get some recording app or software on phone to have a record for future. Skype for business gives you the feature to have a video or audio recorded at the time of the call.

3.- Talking about the no. of people you can have chat with is limited to 200. Though having a conversation with these many people at the same time is big deal in itself but if you're having a workshop or lecture then this tool is your best friend.

4.- They have integrated it with outlook calendar which you can use to schedule tasks or meetings if needed. Also, you can download a .ics file from google calendar and upload it on outlook if that is the case.

Cons: If you're operating from a place where internet is an issue then be ready with the patience barometer to go high. Also, what I have personally observed is it uses a lot of RAM on windows. Notifications system also has seen some bugs in the past.

What I have come to know is there's no Skype for Business for Mac as far now which is a oops situation as higher management in most companies or most people operate through macs.

Overall: Tool is good and one should definitely give a try for it.

Pros: I've used Skype for Business for over three years now and it has been a positive experience throughout.

Online calls are always fast, easy, and convenient. I've never had a problem with Skype's online video calls, and I've been on calls with upwards of 8 people at a time.

Chatting is everything that it needs to be and I'm able to quickly send files to other colleagues.

Screen sharing is a killer feature that allows me to communicate with a colleague and demonstrate tasks like the way were in the room with me.

Cons: My experience has been that the newest releases of Skype have sent the experience backward overall. The older versions packed all of the necessary features and kept it all simple and streamlined. However, the newer editions have made it harder to navigate the menus and downgraded the video call experience.

Overall: Skype for Business is almost perfect, and I have complete faith that they'll work out the problems with the latest updates and get the software back to the reasons why it was a first-choice business solution in the first place.

Pros: The fact that Skype for Business facilitates communication is enough thing to justify that this platform is perfect. Like in our organization, coordination is critical, and therefore, an object that has adequate features such as Video Conferencing, Audio Call, Chat Box, File Storage Capacity, among others makes it the best communication channel. Furthermore, the product reduces time wastage in the process of communication and this enhances efficiency. The support team for Skype for Business is also an amazing team.

Cons: In my view, Skype for Business is a bit expensive in terms of subscription. I think the vendor should think of lowering this fee for many people to secure it. Again, some people find it hard to use it in Android devices. The developer should make it more efficient in all mobile devices.

Overall: In general, Skype for Business performs its intended job efficiently. Unlike other platform, Skype for Business is secure, reliable, and convenient. The process of implementation is also simplified, and this makes many people afford it.

Pros: It is great to see who is available, buys, already on a call or in a meeting. The video call function is great as well. Being able to share your screen with others is also very useful as it can assist in troubleshooting, or explaining something much easier and in greater detail. Having both hands free while on the phone is also a plus.

Cons: The most inconvenient aspect is that it can be rather buggy. At least once a week it kind of has a heart attack and will glitch out and not work. When this happens you can't simply close the program and re-open it. You actually have to reboot the entire computer. It can be somewhat difficult to transfer someone to another person as well. Sometimes you can't transfer directly, you have to call the person who you want to transfer to, then merge the call in. It is also difficult to pull call metrics from, and even when some body isn't logged in to the specific phone pool, it would still say there was a missed call.

Overall: Overall it is great for internal communication and seeing who is available, away or on a phone call. As a 'call center' replacement for a phone system it is just OK. If they could fix the buggy failures, and make metrics easier to pull that would make it better.

Pros: Skype for business allows for constant communication, collaboration, access, and management oversight while working virtually, or in a remote environment. Skype allows for video conferencing, standard (text-based) messaging in the style of AIM, and conference calling. It allows you to have group video chats as well. Productivity has increased across the board since we implemented Skype for business. Morale has increased as we were able to allow for a virtual work from home policy.

Cons: One of the features of Skype for Business is that it shows when a staff member is idle or unavailable automatically if they have not typed for a while. I am not sure if this setting can be changed, but it like it was infringing on privacy a bit, in unnecessary ways. For example, if staff were getting their work done do we really need to know how long it has been since they moved their mouse or typed on the computer. This is the only thing I may tweak ... this setting 'out-of-the-box' should default to 'OFF'.

Pros: I like the ease of making groups of people I connect with for easy access. Skype for Business is a great way to quickly 'talk' with someone else without physically having to interrupt. The other person can get back to you when they can. And because it is easy, it is usually very quick. My favorite feature is being able to screen share. This is an excellent way to provide one-on-one remote training and/or troubleshooting for an end user or as the end user of some other product.

Cons: I never know where to put it on my monitor. The box is great to have open to see who is available but it covers up other open files on the monitor. If it is minimized, then you miss the easiest way to connect.

Overall: I love the ability to quickly send snip its of information to a colleague as an attachment or insert. But I have been able to troubleshoot with remote colleagues by screen sharing and talking on the phone at the same time. It works with technical people troubleshooting for me. Or I can help a remote end user troubleshoot at their end. And it is almost like being there!

Comments: I still recommend skype, but truthfully 99% of the users only need the personal version.

Pros: I have used Skype for many years, both personal and business versions. There really isn't that much difference between the two, other than the layout, and of course the focus on presentations / screen sharing in the business version. Overall I think both work fine but need some updating which I will comment on in the "cons" section. Now with Apple increasing the total number of people you can "face time" with, I expect Skype to update theirs soon also, which further plays into the free version is probably all you will ever need.

Cons: As Microsoft normally does, I feel there is confusion around the two versions (personal vs business) because you can do essentially the same thing in both...including adding the same contacts, no matter the version. Also, I feel Skype is getting behind out the chat bot war. They only have a few and they are not very intuitive. How they don't have a solid stock chat bot is crazy to me.

Pros: - Instant messaging feature is very fast, reliable and for quick communication - Video calls and Voice chats are the major features - Very user friendly application, easy to set up and use - Unlimited chats and minutes with your colleagues, customers and clients - Works perfectly on your mobile phone/ hand held device as well - A product of Microsoft so security is top notch. Free from viruses and software crashes - Many features like screen sharing so presentations is even possible - Files, media and documents could be sent easily and quickly - Your Skype username will be your business email ID which works even with Microsoft Outlook/Office 365 - The entire application is of a light colored interface making it "fun" to use

Cons: - Unable to dial emergency numbers (Police, Fire Dept) - Requires a strong internet connectivity for usage in your mobile phone - History can not be deleted even after the chat is closed/erased - Does not offer any language translation options

Pros: Many organizations use Skype as a primary desk phone so the option to enable simultaneous ring for a mobile device is a key feature. Screen sharing is another great collaboration tool that enables a simple IM conversation to transform into a working session without ever leaving the application. Skype integrates with Outlook, so contacts can be located in one central location. The support for video chat and file transfer enables the application to meet most enterprise needs.

Cons: The ability to share screen captures seems more cumbersome than similar instant messaging applications. Copying the image to clipboard and pasting directly into a Skype chat window initiates a file transfer of the image instead of copying the image directly into the instant messaging window. The image file must then be opened via an image viewer which adds some overhead in using the feature.

Overall: Skype for Business incorporates a breadth of features to support today's complex communication needs and enables greater office productivity.

Pros: I am a daily user of skype for last 10 years. I use skype to keep my personal and professional network strong. We don't need a single money to keep skype running. We can even make calls to toll free numbers from India to all the countries in the world. If we have to make a direct phone call internationally, skype has very cheaper monthly or one time plans. Juts top up and start calling phone number overseas.

Cons: The login with facebook feature actually pissed me off last year. I had an old account which I lost access last year and then I signed up with facebook and used it for 2 months on my PC only. Then I needed skype on my phone and when I tried to login with facebook, I couldn't see that option there and all my contacts were there i that account, so I contacted support and they told me there is no option other than creating anew account if I wish to use it. Then I have to start it all over again from the beginning and have to manually copy paste my contacts to the new account.

Pros: Easy to use.

Great service for audio and video communication.

Integration of the service with the Office 365 platform. to able his use directly on the website.

Possibility to manage a big amount of contacts in a meeting or to create team meetings from the Outlook with only a click. Easy to share content and to save the sessions.

Integration with the Office desktop suite.

Cons: The management of the chat contents and history data. It's need to be reviewed, to add the possibility to export the chats or to send a part of these via email.

In the case to work with the Office 365, the application should offer the first option to attach contents, from the One Drive user account.

Finally, although not important, the possibility to theme selection or customisation.

Differences between the Windows and Mac clients to manage the chats.

Overall: Video and audio communication between multiple devices (web, smartphones, Android, IOS, Windows Phone, Windows, MacOS)

Great level of quality on the audio and video sessions, adapting these to the bandwidth.

Pros: It's incredibly easy to roll out on an image if you're part of IT staff. Once it's configured on a Windows install, its functionality incredibly user friendly. Messaging colleagues is as simple as opening the program and searching their name. It takes me about five seconds before I've already started typing out my message to them. Skype makes coordinating with colleagues an absolute breeze and it's a great way to reach out to someone and have your message delivered instantly. Notifications are done elegantly, coming off of the screen and giving you options to reply or minimize. Overall, Skype for Business is an incredibly robust tool which presents itself in a very clever and intuitive way to help office productivity.

Cons: It's usage of resources is a bit high. Leaving it to open on startup contributes to lag when first powering on your computer. I find that 8GB of RAM is when it becomes negligible.

Overall: Skype has greatly increased office productivity by facilitating ease of communication between colleagues and makes it very easy to contact remote employees as well. It beats out walking over to a cubicle to start a chat and it's a great tool to improve office productivity.

Pros: I would recommend Skype for personal use simply because of its popularity. You're more likely to find the majority of your friends, family, or professional network on Skype than any other video communication tool. The connection is pretty reliable and you don't have to worry about the additional fees that come with communicating across borders over the phone. The chat feature is also great because you can send information like links or photos to the people you're talking to. The application really embodies every form of communication we have into one (video, audio, and texting). And it's better than FaceTime because it allows you to have large group calls. I took an online course a few years ago and my professor was able to get a class of 20 on Skype all at once and it was a United Nations program so, we all came from different countries and were able to hear each other perfectly.

Cons: The thing I dislike about Skype is that it took away some of its free features and made them available only for a fee. I used to be able to share my screen for free and I'm no longer able to - this is why I wouldn't recommend Skype for business. I rarely have video calls at the office where I don't need to share my screen to discuss a project and there are so many other apps for video calls that will allow you to do that using a basic/free version.

Pros: It is included in many organizational partner levels with Microsoft. So if you have the Office 365 (Enterprise Version) or other Office products and solutions with Microsoft, or if you have a partner level contract with Microsoft (like Silver Partner) you will probably be able to use the Skype for Business in your corporation. It can be used on cloud servers, so you don't need to setup a complicated environment like it used to be with the previous Lync or Communicator solution.

Cons: It is not simple and not reliable. The basic functions are so problematic that I prefer to use any other communication method whether it is possible. If you start a conversation with someone else and the connection drops in between, more than just lose the messages, you lose the ability to save the conversation. You cannot keep it in the history after a connection drop. Offline and connection losses must be a priority that a messaging system must care.

Overall: Skype for Business is a (almost) free tool that a company can choose to easily integrate its employees and also some external customer contacts altogether. But the quality is poor, be aware that it can be a point of stress from IT's point of view.

Pros: No bells and whistles that make the software look fancy at the expense of performance whatsoever. It's traditional subtly styled floating popout window user interface makes it fast, lightweight and packed with every possible feature any level of organization or enterprise would need to connect near seamlessly to the local intranet or global internet.

Cons: There are some missing features perhaps overlooked that would make it much more versatile and overall a better VoIP solution such as the ability to record voice messages, forward calls, MMS/SMS features, and perhaps a dedicated phone number that the user can create during initialization similar to Google Voice.

Overall: Microsoft has all bases covered and the thought of each and every application created and the level of in-depth service provided in support bars none the best the world has seen since their conception. Trust is very few these day, however, nearly every application released by Mircosoft directly gives me the confidence to be safe and functional and this is very rare due to comparison to the competition. There are many features and benefits the business class Skype application provides as for the basics include Groups and Contact Organization, Dial in Meeting and Conferencing, Scheduling, Send and Recieve Files, and much more. One of the best features that create the divide between standard editions is the ability to record and an integrated recording manager to go alongside that keeps each recorded conversation organized and in one place.

Pros: What can I say? This is the software I am using every day and I have never had any glitch or inconvenience. It straight and on point does all the required functioanlity that's offered by the developers.

The biggest advantage of it is the easy and smooth integration with the Microsoft Outlook. With this, Skype Meetings are just the matter of the seconds to be arranged with multiple parts into it to participate. And it simply takes just seconds. In addition to that, I love the integration of the status changes from the outlook in Skype.

What I also love is that it supports the formatting of the text directly in the IM interface.

Cons: So far, there hasn't any inconvenience I faced while using the Skype. What I am still trying to get used to is calling the Lync - Skype for business.

The only disadvantage at this stage I see is the possibility for the multiple users to be able to share the screen while having a Skype meeting.

What I would also love to see as an improvement is the 'Media' section of the received files per IM, so you wouldn't need to scroll in the chat history to find previous media files.

Pros: Skype for business software came bundled with the laptop I was using in the office. In fact, I was going to uninstall it before a colleague told me that management insists that every connected system should have it. I soon found out why.

The first combined meeting we had on it wowed me even though I was not new to Skype. It was very smooth even for over 10 of us involved and connected in the meeting.

Connectivity to other parties was usually under 3 seconds even with the office less than impressive network provider.

The ability to use chat messaging, send audio and video were the things I expected to see and useand yes they were there but been able to do screen sharing and to give control to other presenters on the same video conference were things I was seeing for the first time on skype.

Also, the video recording function is perfect for secretary who take minutes of meeting and for use as evidence of what was discussed in the meeting. These functions were not only there but worked seamlessly.

Usage was easy for me probably because I was already using the usual skype. The controls are basically the same except for the functionality and styles.

Cons: The voice is sometimes not in syncs with the picture (I suspect my network provider for this)

The video recordings files from video conference are usually very heavy.

The inability to add non-skype account holders to our meeting meant we had to use other methods to hold some of our meetings.

Any small drop in steady connection takes you offline and sign you out.

The data consumption rate was very high.

Overall: It was a new user experience for me and I think anyone using it for the first time will notice a whole lot of difference from the normal skype. It is pretty straightforward though and does exactly what it was designed for. Perfect for meeting and presentations.

Comments: When done correctly (internal IT Networking and VoIP infrastructures designed and implemented properly), you can readily eliminate costly VoIP handsets, desktops and all the proprietary hardware that goes with those environments. Session Border Controllers and Cisco CUBE type edge of data/voice network integrations have matured to a true enterprise class. Often, local IT departments don't have the skills to do this properly and rely on a single subject matter expert or consultant. Skype for Business is a serious tool that displaces [basic] Enterprise Voice, Instant Messaging, WEBEX, SameTime, Jabber, etc. SIP-certified handsets are as well available for those die-hard's that want a physical handset. All that said, there's more work to be done and it's been a slow evolution.

Pros: Inter-organizational Federation works quite well, if administrators on both sides did things right. Seamless integration with Windows 10 audio on PC's, Laptops, Surface devices for Mic and Speaker/Headsets/Bluetooth. Nice launch to share screens in a fraction of the time it takes to launch a WEBEX.

Cons: Video windows of participants is embryonic at best. For one on one aok. For Enterprise with more than a few participants, it's relatively annoying at best. Remote control/shared authoring and editing is dog slow. Lag of several seconds for each movement is a regular occurrence. Great for one-to-one or one-to-many presentations, but don't count on this platform to do collaborative development of content and editing. It's just not there yet.

Pros: The best parts of skype's services is that it offers a universally accepts Chat/Phone service over the internet, that everyone in business is aware of. This makes it easy to say "Hey, what's your skype?" and usually people will let you know how to add them. Skype makes it easy among coworkers to send quick messages to gain information or ask questions, without having to pick up the phone. This makes business a bit more productive, by eliminating the 15 minute conversations, for questions that only take 5 minutes.

Cons: Skype can be a finicky at times, and has issues that are very strange, and often seem like there is no solution for them. For example, often Skype will say that a user is offline, when they are really online, when this happens they will not receive messages, and it can be a real hassle. There still does not seem to be a permanent "that will fix it" solution, as most of the time it resolves it self after a lengthy amount of time.

Pros: Integration with Outlook and our Exchange server has been the best part of this tool. Very easy to insert a bridge line in to calendar invites using Skype for Business Meetings. All contacts transfer over and it's integrated with outlook calendar for meetings.

Cons: When using Skype products, their responsiveness always seems clunky to me. Meetings can take between 1-4 minutes to load which is the difference between being very early to a conference call, or very late. It also doesn't integrate with regular Skype well. Contrary to what you might believe, it becomes very difficult to call someone outside of your organization with their Skype username. I know the tool isn't designed for person to person Skype, but that should be available. Interviewing candidates for jobs with their Skype still must be done through the individual Skype app.

Overall: The simplicity of Skype for Business is it's greatest feature. We've started to transition to Microsoft Teams which seems even more confusing and complex.

Pros: You can communicate with others just like physical communications. Although it's not a replacement for a physical communication but it can save your time and money. It saves the time of travelling for meeting and saves your travel expenses in addition to travel if you want to have a phone call Skype will cost you just like or somewhat less than a local call with a good experience as you have a video call as compared to a local audio call skype is far better.

Cons: Skype becomes unresponsive when you open multiple chats because it's a heavy software and also slow down your computer for a while. Skype uses outdated and old emojis they should be updated and add new emojis also. Skype does not support GIF's and stickers they should be supported immediately. When you are sharing files it occasionally gives casual errors which are sometimes disturbing. Sometimes when you share files with groups some of the members can see this file and some cannot.

Pros: I used Lync before Microsoft merged it's features with Skype and the new product Skype for Business was created. It's a very nice communication tool for workplace with most of the features i ever need to interact with my colleagues at local as well as remote locations.

It has features like audio/video calling, web conferencing, group chat, screen sharing, file sharing etc. I have used various other applications like IBM's sametime, AT&T's Q, Google hangout etc, but none has all the features that Skype for Business provides.

Cons: Skype for Business requires moderately high speed internet and doesn't works great on low bandwidth internet. I have had call drops and communication error issues when connected to low speed internet.

Overall: I am quite satisfied as a user of Skype for Business, but i still see some organizations using limited licensed features of Skype for Business and instead use other tools like Cisco WebEx for meeting room setups. I believe this is probably due to license cost.

Pros: For a project to be successful there must be a precise and continuous communication in every place, but now where the work is being handled a lot remotely, especially in my computer world, this is why a first class service is needed. Skype offers it, with the first-class features that are required, especially its integration with office that allows you to make presentations in real time, showing presentations, or sharing files, to make full meetings as if you were in the same place, has several types of meetings that can be interactive where everyone shares or with a meeting leader to take the baton, this is special to create meetings as needed, as these are more funtionalities that will take you to take this as your favorite tool.

Cons: For its high functionality you will need a powerful connection to the Internet, if not, you will have a bad service, so it guarantees a stable connection and good upload and download speed.

Pros: Skype is used in our organization to communicate with other employees. The interface is easy to use, the flow of information is instantaneous and the messenger is easily accessible on the desktop, it is very convenient to add people to group chat and share screen or get control on another's machine while showing something in a presentation. You can also edit the group by adding or deleting as many members as you want or create additional groups for specific members.

Cons: Sometimes it takes a while to send a file through Lync / Skype, while if you send it via email, you will have a connection in minutes. The Groups section is also not very intuitive and automatically adds users to (My group) instead of a single contact list that we use.

Overall: Meetings are easier even when everyone is in different locations and uses different devices. It is also good to have the ability of private message to send a personal message to colleagues who may need positive reinforcement without a public display.

Pros: I like that it doesn't seem to be super resource intensive or bog down my other activities that I notice. It's very easy to start an ad hoc meeting, and with the integration with Outlook, I can schedule a Skype meeting with a quick button push.

Cons: I don't like when I miss an IM from someone and after 15 -30 seconds, the popup has been minimized on my screen. I usually don't see those until hours later. Maybe it's a setting change, but I think it should stay on the forefront of my screen until I've either clicked on it to close or responded.

Overall: I use it all day for quick IM's to my colleagues around the globe within our company, and for some of my clients who I am connected to. That is a great way to get a note to someone without interrupting them with a phone call or sending an email that will get buried in their Inbox. The Skype calls are easy to launch and easy to escalate to a video call if need be. Sharing content is a common use of mine if I need to show someone something I'm working on or even demonstrate something live on my screen.

Pros: We operate in a mixed OS shop (Windows/Apple/Android/IOS), Skype accommodates our desktop and mobile platforms well, allowing every to dial into video/phone Skype calls, regardless of location

Skype For Business integrates with Microsoft Exchange by displaying status availability of a contact to indicate if they are free to chat/phone/video conference, and allows you to initiate a call from exchange. This is very convenient and well-liked by many of our users.

The screen-sharing option is the most popular feature for Skype phone calls, and is our go-to setup for collaboration. It's easy to flip back and forth between participant screens and very useful for information sharing.

Cons: Mac OSX features for Skype thick client are missing some features, compared to their Windows-based apps. This may change as time progresses.

There were some very annoying IM features for the Mac OSX client (No IM notifications, multiple conversation threads spawning without notification, false-negative sending errors) which plagued us, but have since cleared after a recent client update.

Pros: The most useful functionality is the screensharing - the ability to quickly show a team mate/co-worker the subject of a conversation is super helpful. The remote access is fine, and sometimes handy. The integration with microsoft teams is nice too, already having your entire directory pre-loaded is helpful and makes it very quick to get in touch with the people you need to work with.

Cons: Where to start... I think the biggest problem with this software is how slow and unfriendly it is. Everything is iconized, nothing is labeled, and it keeps re-enabling itself to start up on boot automatically. It's a nightmare to teach someone non-tech savvy how to use, and it bogs down on the simplest of tasks. We have quality machines that handle rendering/number crunching just fine - why does a program to replace a phone cause these machines to fall over and die?

Overall: Screensharing - that's about it. Everything else I do with some other software to avoid having to use it.
