Pros: So easy to send a quick chat to someone across the building. It's an easier way to page someone to come into your office if you're on the phone.

Cons: You are unable to paste any content or screenshots into the message field. It would be helpful if you needed to present a quick idea to someone and they were able to see what you send.

Pros: Supports extras like desktop sharing and video calling. Can be used as an extension in Cisco Call Manager. Allows for easy file transfers. allows for quick instant messages to colleagues. nice integrations with Outlook calendars for free/busy information and automatic status updates.

Cons: No Linux support for anything other than simple IM messages. Interface can be a little bloated. Can be tricky to implement with internal and external networks for universal access

Overall: An IM tool that is integrated with your phone system.

Does the job without the bells and whistles.

Pros: Cisco Jabber is a great tool to use among colleagues for a quick pop-up message. The program integrates with your phone system to allow handset-free calling.

Cons: Some features are difficult to get to and use. Sometimes it will let you leave a message for someone who is away from their computer, but other times, it doesn't notify you that a message has been left.

This is an amazing software to connect with colleagues in corporate world.

Pros: I am using this software since last 7 months, it is a user friendly and time saving software. The best part is one can see all the chats done in the past even after closing the chat. It helps in saving time a lot as there is no worry about the data. All is in store for use at anytime.

Cons: One thing which I would like to suggest that there should appear employee information on clicking on its name like contact number and designation. It will become more suitable then. Else it is good now too.

Overall: Ease to connect with employees sitting anywhere in the world. Chat history which never disappears is the best part. Time saving & user friendly software. I am happily using it.

it is awesome, easy to chat, group chat, screen/desktop sharing features are awesome.

Pros: we can see the profile i.e online/offline status, phone number, mails id . Screen/desktop sharing feature is quite easy and consumes less bandwidth as compare to other software like slack.
'Send mail' option is really time saving . User can Customize status according to his need.scheduling meeting and easy integration with outlook are impressive feature, in one click we can see the meetings detail from jabber, can schedule a new meeting .

Cons: i don't see any option like slack where we can use any other app with in the jabber just like we do in slack.
on my personal PC i found that history get deleted automatically after few days, there should be option to retrieve the history which got deleted previously automatically.
Emoticons are less in Jabber as compared to slack

Overall: i have been using this for more then 3 year and it makes my work like scheduling meeting , chatting with teammates singly or in group very easy. i do not need to look for my notebook or anywhere to find the phone number and email id to contac the person and it can be easily seen in jabber.

Pros: I really like the multiple conversation windows with which we can switch to any conversation anytime.

Cons: The login is very slow, the cursor is busy for a good long time. I do not know why the load has to be so delayed.

Pros: Though the product doesn't gives you anything special I do like the simplicity of using its features. The one click meeting feature & integration to webex is cool too. The option to update the change in your location is helpful for people like me who work from multiple locations.

Cons: You chat history is archived very soon & its a pain to retrieve it. I have seriously no idea why would they do that? I started taking screenshots of my conversation for future reference. The docking window on top of screen is another pain specially wen you are using remote desktop connections.

Cons: 1. It's not lightweight software
2. We cannot sent live recordings
3. We cannot create permanent groups

Jabber is a sleak, easy to use messaging software that is somewhat feature light

Pros: - Sleek interface
- Connects well with our existing Cisco phone system
- Softphone capability is convenient and easy to use
- Video chat works well

Cons: - Feature light, not a replacement for a more robust video conference software for instance
- Doesn't "stand alone" very well. Features are managed through the somewhat obtuse Cisco portal
- Could use more customizability

Pros: Easy to use and very effective in bolstering our communication platform. Instant messaging, dialing from within applications and an excellent mobile app make this a key part of our communication portfolio.

Cons: Cisco licensing is never enjoyable to deal with and although this is not a separate product line item, it is still part of the Cisco portfolio. I also wish there were more ways to force Jabber to always login and always remain running versus allowing the user to shut it down.

Overall: Communication

The limited functionality needs to be upgraded.

Pros: Easy to learn, grabs accurate information from outlook regarding meetings, contact info. Chats are smooth with no lag.

Cons: When a contact sends you an IM, I wish you had the option to turn on a feature that better indicates that a new jabber is waiting to be read. With microsoft lync, the box would literally pop up (if you so indicated) with the new message.

Overall: Fast communication

Fairly good for messaging but not without its quirks

Pros: It's easy to manage contacts, perhaps more so than any other similar applications I've used. The integration with other applications like Webex is also handy.

Cons: The inability to send people messages when they are offline, which can obviously be achieved via email, etc. If you know someone is offline, that shouldn't prevent you from being able to send them something to read when they're back online.
