I have had some problems with guides and rulers at times but the software is constantly being updated. It's much less problematic than photoshop or Illustrator. Pros It's the most lightning fast software that Adobe has made. It is easy to learn the tool palette because it's not as loaded as Photoshop or Illustrator. If you are frustrated by how photoshop and illustrator can clog your memory, I recommend prototyping with XD. Cons It would be nice to add more interactivity and animation, but I know that would probably add to the size of the program. Review Source JV Jose V. You can create flows, vectors, animations and design systems. It's very simple to use, also it doesn't require so many resources. For me its much better than Figma Cons I think there can be more plugins and more free collaborators. April 12, 2019 5.0 I'm sure there are other programs that you can use to create clickable prototypes, but XD is the one I've had the best experience with! Pros A year ago I was doing a lot website development work, which meant practically designing landing pages at least weekly. At first, the process included having a designer work on a mock-up using Illustrator and Photoshop and sending that over the dev team to code and put into production. We started using XD and the process became MUCH faster! The designer worked directly from within XD and created clickable prototypes. The dev team was very grateful for the change in the workflow and we spent much less time building the landing pages. Cons Well, it's no secret that the Adobe suite is pricey, so if you're not an agency that has a corporate CC account, and you're running solo, then you'll probably think it's expensive. Honestly though, it's worth the investment! I like how simple it is to use - I often have my boss go in and tweak things on projects and he has been able to learn it quickly. The prototype sharing is also braindead simple. The biggest pro for me is the art board format and how quickly I can navigate around between art boards. Cons It's lacking a little in functionality on the prototyping side since it's a new piece of software. I have noticed, however, that functionality is being added constantly. From asset management to exporting of the design the software really cares about everything. The rendering of the exported assets design are very much pixel perfect. Pros Adobe Xd consist of lots of features but what makes it really unique from others is its feature to export the design to the android project with different pixel densities and thats too in just one click. Other than that Adobe XD really come handy in prototyping an app that works on voice commands. Cons Adobe Xd really lacks in terms of presentation of the prototype. It gives very less options to make your prototype presented beautifully in front of your clients. There is literally no iphone frame or ipad frame available to give a great look to the prototype. Designers can work across teams to develop animations, prototypes, and collect feedback in real-time with Adobe XD. Pros As a user, I've found that it's gotten a lot better. I can now save my documents from my device to the Adobe XD cloud, which is fantastic. Cons You can't just put up one dartboard; you have to push up all of them, which is quite inconvenient. " July 24, 2018 5.0 Pros I saw this demoed at the Adobe MAX conference a few years back when in was call Project Comet. I knew then that it was a game changer. You can use it for almost any rapid prototype you want to create. TONS of user added content. Cons Slight learning curve. If you are familiar with Adobe UI, it will make it easier. You need a decent machine to get all the great hardware accelerated features. You also need a Creative Cloud license, but if you are a graphic professional, you should have one. But when it comes to hardcore designing and collaborating with my clients, sketch is the standard and everyone has it to begin with. Pros The software is nice and clean. It doesnt overpower you with lot of functionality and features and has a relatively lean learning curve compared to other software in the same category. Its also well embedded in the Adobe ecosystem, and if you are already part of that, this is a decent choice. Cons Compared to Sketch, Adobe XD is a downgrade, the flexibility and functionality isnt really there yet, even the plugin support and library is not as vast and advanced as sketch. Finding resources for sketch is far more easier than for XD. It also lacks some basic funtionality which will greatly improve your work flow. I only use it when its neccessary. Set of simple but competent design tools (vectors, texts, forms, lines...); enough for most cases (if you start your designs from scratch in the application). Share your work with your team, on your PC through links, or by the mobile application (XD Prototypes). Support your work in Adobe cloud storage. If you do so, your team can leave comments and notes linked to the project artboards (just one design at a time for the free start plan). The application gives you tutorials and valuable UI kits that will allow you to replicate the style of the most popular interfaces (iOS, Windows, Google Material). Create grids, lists and repetitive elements easily and accurately with 'Repeat Grid'. Undoubtedly, the star tool of XD. Templates available for most of the available devices (IPhone, Android, Microsoft). Build your prototypes and navigation systems easily by linking your artboards and design elements with the drag and drop tool (Prototype mode). And at the same time you get an accurate view of the architecture of your site or application. Variety of transitions and effects to style your application. Cons If you are a PC user, you must have at least Windows 10 to use the application. If you decide to be serious with the application you will have to pay for any of the available plans to have enough storage space and enable all the collaborative capabilities. Unlike Sketch, is not possible to add functionality through plugins. Undoubtedly this has weighed a bit its expansion and acceptance, since all the development depends directly on Adobe. Although some design specifications can be exported, it is not yet possible to translate the designs to CSS. Adobe XD's design control tools are excellent, and the prototyping approach is superior to some of the more browser based alternatives. I have always liked software client interfaces over web based, and Adobe XD is a pleasure to use. Cons The cost was a big issue in the past, but now it is more sensible with its licencing approach. I stumbled across it when it was first released and, from there, it has only become better. It's easy to use for beginners or for more advanced designers. The features are incredible and the capabilities of this software are limitless!Used this software primarily to design some website elements, app interface and user interfaces of our product line. Plus, if someone has already used some Adobe software before than this will be very easy to use, which for me made the learning curve a lot less steep. Cons No complaints so far. UI UX is something I'm learning more of and the UI UX of XD has been nothing short of brilliant. Pros This is a fairly simple and powerful UI UX layout tool. I was skeptical of it when I installed it, but it's free and so powerful. Most definitely one that's staying in my arsenal for some time to come. Cons Needs additional plugins to add some of the features you may be used to in other design software packages. There are quite a few, and the list is growing, but it's not all there. Switched from [Adobe Illustrator](https://www.capterra.com/p/227125/Adobe-Illustrator/) Xd is built for UI UX design, and Illustrator is not the ideal tool to make that work, though it was potential, it serves an entirely different purpose.
