March 17, 2023 5.0 Pros I love the ease for my co workers to send over a .xd file and I can just open it and view it. Sometimes I make a few changes but it really makes the process really smooth. Cons Sadly it doesn't have as many features as other design tools, such as Sketch or figma. Pros It is very easy to use, and the ability to create a "functional" version that your clients can use, and understand what happens when you do something. That kind of interactivity sells by itself, and explains a lot better than other forms of presentation. Cons It is some bare at the beginning. Pros The abilities with Adobe XD are almost endless, and because it is getting updated for more and more functionality all of the time. There are other products like this from other companies but I think that Adobe (though they were late in the game) have topped the list in terms of what it can do. Cons I was very surprised when I started using this program because I am an Adobe user, everything I do design-wise is with Adobe software, but this one was one of the most difficult to learn. I can't even tell you why, I felt like it shouldn't have been but I had a difficult time really getting into any sort of workflow. I am good now but that took much longer than I anticipated. Implement static websites from Adobe XD designs is simple. Sharing the experience designed for the site is easy too and with half of the work compared to the times we were using only Photoshop. Pros Robust, it has so many features, simplifies the work and provides the best tools to fast and effective design work. Cons Maybe it can provide some help on Code, like CSS or SCSS styles. Cons I would say everything but I think that would be harsh. I recommend using Sketch or Figma as XD doesn't work well on a distributed team using macs and pc computers. It really needs more features, but it's free and easy to use, so the experience with it is more than perfect. Pros All you need to create your designs is here. It's free, and the learning curve is not that hard! It integrates very well with the complete Adobe Suite. Even if you're not an expert (like me!), the chances to fail or making a mistake are minimal, it really simplifies everything. I'm just getting into App design and makes everything easy for me, just watching a few tutorials. You can prototype everything in your project, and it's available on Windows and Mac, really useful and reliable. Cons You have to place video in an external app. The interface is not the best, to be honest. There's no possibility to export to .PSD (Photoshop format). Doesn't support a lot of plugins. But I was keen on learning a little bit of wireframing and website & mobile designs. For me this is all I need. I appreciate included tutorial and help - for few times I really needed it. Apart of that it's piece of cake. It is pleasant software to use. Pros Ease of use. I'm surprised to write this. I remember learning other Adobe's products. Here is different. Product is equipped in most crucial functionalities and focuses on usability. You can create almost right from start of application. Pros Adobe has made Adobe XD as a free version to test it out. As a beta product, it satisfies needs as a UI/UX designer. The options are simple and easy to edit. Cons Again some of the features are missing in the windows version and they are only concentrating on the Mac version to compete with Sketch user base. Our designer likes it as it feels like Illustrator, and it's already in the suite, so it's essentially free! Would I pay for it as a stand alone product though? No. There are better products out there for prototyping that are very reasonably priced. Pros As this is part of the Creative Cloud, you immediately feel at home, and the learning curve is low as it's all so familiar. It feels like an old friend already, and it plays nicely with Illustrator and Photoshop. Cons The way the software installs is different from everything else in the suite, which caused some issues with the security settings (we are a fairly large site, with tight security). Also, this is missing so many features that other software has, it is obvious that Adobe are playing catch up - however, I'm sure that they will catch up very soon. Lastly, I find this software buggy. Files sometimes fail to load with no crash code, but then a colleague will open it without issue, despite us all being on the same version and OS. He told me about the free version and I immediately started using it. It's a really intuitive tool to master and perfect to create quick mock-ups for developing teams :) Cons Depending on your use, you could quickly need to upgrade. That's what happened for us as I started working with other teams and I was limited in the number of links and people to share my work with, so we had to upgrade eventually but it is worth it! Pros Prototyping has never been so easy and complete. It's possible to demonstrate absolutely everything in Adobe XD, and even share a link for everyone involved to have access. There is still the possibility of putting the process in writing as well. It's easy for everyone and allows us to move seamlessly between design and development. Pros This is a great solution that makes it easy for developers AND designers to work on projects together. I find that it's a good solution that keeps everyone happy - making features available to developers so they can see spacing and styles of web projects easily, and still including customization features designers love. I'm a new user but looking forward to seeing more of what this program can really do. Cons There are a couple of glitches still. When opening the same files on Mac and PC versions of XD, sometimes the text renders differently so that the bounding boxes of the text areas cut off letters, which is odd.
