I like that it is constantly being updated with new features! There have been times when I've thought about switching to Sketch or Figma, but I always find myself coming back to XD! I look forward to seeing XD improve over time! Pros Whether I'm working on a school assignment or a work project; I love working with XD since it gives me the ability to easily share my file with my teammates. I like that it easily works alongside Photoshop and Illustrator. It helps brings my ideas to life so I can send a video or a link to the prototype to a teacher, classmate, or employer. Cons I would really like to see Adobe XD match Figma's software and for the user interface to look as attractive as Sketch's. Adobe XD needs better plug-ins since there are many that are buggy or with low ratings. Lastly, I don't like that to see my prototype on my phone it has to be connected to my computer. The software is solid, consistent and can make an investor forget that they are looking at a prototype. Not so with other prototype products. It’s components functionality is a time saver. Cons Mobile browser sharing is “unfortunate”. The headers and footers make viewing the prototype clunky and problematic. Requires downloading the XD app and that’s a big problem for focus groups. December 4, 2018 5.0 Since this came with my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, it would have been a waste of money to not utilize it when the opporutinty for web development and planning came up. I'm really glad I used Adobe XD for the projects that I used it for as it really helped run everything run faster. I would say this was very beneficial to our organization! Pros Prior to building the website for a club in my workplace, I had to find a way to visually present how the layout of the website would be so that the website could be created later. In order to do this, I was able to use Adobe XD and I found myself to have found great results using this! I was able to create a realistic replica of a website that we could use for reference when creating our real website. This was also great for allowing us to see how the website would look on different devices. Cons What I liked least about this software is that unless you are a professional graphic designer, you may have a very difficult time being able to navigate around Adobe XD. When I first began using this, I had no idea how to get started in creating the website that I wanted to create. This was due to the fact that Adobe provides next to no tutorials or guidelines on how to get started on this. It makes the whole process really easy. From wireframing and creating a rough prototype of the app, to creating animations and interactions between the different frames. There are so many widget packs that are included in the software itself so you can freely choose from those. The data syncing feature is one of my favorites as it allows more than 1 person to edit at a time. It is especially useful when we are syncing work between multiple colleagues since it helps to ensure everyone is looking at the latest version of work. I used Adobe XD to create multiple prototypes and prototyping is a feature that I use most frequently. Cons I think that overall while the software was easy to use, there are still so many undiscovered features that are not shown in the tutorials included unless you research much deeper. I think if there was a more detailed navigation bar or tutorial it would have been better. It also has a supportive community and loads of add-ons, even for the inexperienced. Cons The inability to export projects to PSD is a major drawback. Overall, the functionality and file export are inadequate. It has started as a very simple tool with very simple features, but they work very hard since then to make it more and more complete. It seems that they test very well all the new features before they roll them out, The result seems to be a very simple tool with a boatload of well buit features Pros Adobe XD is to me, by far, the best product design creation tool in the market. " July 21, 2020 4.0 Mocking up console screens and user dialogue boxes with this program is effective, but sometimes make me wish for a more fleshed-out version of an animation software, rather than a skin-deep but fast tool like Adobe XD Pros Adobe XD is unique in its capabilities since it does not have to use layers like Photoshop or other similar design suites. Without layers, changes can be made quickly and easily by managers like myself, or sent back for quick revision to other designers without a full photoshop-sized file. Cons When using this software, it's impossible to animate between pages, files, or stills that would otherwise be connected by transitions, shading, or animation techniques. So one is really just guessing what kind of scene will flow into the next effectively. August 21, 2019 5.0 It has been a huge boost to the efficiency of our project development(s) by allowing insights into the functionality of the designs before it has actually been put into production. It has bridged the gap between us and the IT Developers. In the past, what we submitted versus what was delivered was not always on the same page - we got what we asked for, but not necessarily how we wanted it. With Adobe XD we can give what we want, as well as showing how we want it to look and function. This has allowed for more projects to be completed, and less that need revised after the fact. Pros The ability to see interactive views of the projects you are creating. This allows much deeper insight into how the design of your projects will actually function. In using Adobe XD we have been able to catch things we needed to change that would just have not been possible looking at a flat 2D version. You're able to share your designs securely with stakeholders, and get comments. Cons I have not found anything I dislike as of yet. It also allow you to prototype the design by simple triggering method to see how it functions. 3. It comes up with very useful ui tools which makes your design more professional. Cons Xd has some cons, which are 1. it doesn't let you to see a prototype live view, You have to create a link or save it on creative cloud. 2. It's not a fully design based software, You can only make vector based graphics for you web and mobile. 3. It has very less number of tools and functions instead of other software like sketch. Pros UI/UX Design is incredibly easy with Adobe XD. My favorite part is being able to design for multiple platforms and screens under a single project. Xd is the new industry standard. Cons Image and text editing can be a bit tricky using XD. You end up having to do quite a bit of designing using photoshop or illustrator and importing it into XD. February 25, 2018 5.0 Pros Adobe XD eases work needed in designing interfaces for app. and web development.I also like how I was able to get started with this program , as the user interface was similar to that of photoshop and illustrator ; which are both Adobe products ; thus ,I love that Adobe stuck with its familiar Ui in XD too. By combining this program with Adobe illustrator ,I am able to make my ui/ux prototype pages interact with each other seamlessly, thus providing the perfect prototype designs to the team. Pros I like the integration with other Adobe products. It’s nice that it works so well when using assets from Illustrator or moving assets to AfterEffects. I also like that it feels familiar, like the other Adobe products. Cons I hate the sharing options. I’ve had so many times when I’ve shared a project and the other user can’t access it. Or never receive the invite. It’s so frustrating! I’ve yet to work on an interface problem that didn’t require collaboration, so this feature is a must. You don't have to take your designs to some other software and you can do everything within XD itself. Pros This is really a well-designed product designing tool with all the required tools and functionalities. We have been using Adobe Photoshop before this tool and this has really been a game-changer. It even supports the required plugins that make our lives easier. These plugins are not that advances when compared to Sketch but it gets the job done. Prototyping in XD is extremely simple and effective which saves a lot of time and efforts. Cons Overall this is a perfect software but the one thing that could have been better (especially when compared to Figma) is that its not online which makes it difficult to share files among the team and collaborate. I also find it a little complex to use as compare to Figma.
