SpamTitan does a great job eliminating spam. Cons I would really like to see an outgoing filter added for DLP (Data Leak Protection). Simple to install and incorporate into your business. Pros It does everything we need and more. Superior blocking capability as well as great customer service. Cons sometimes certain release updates tend to lag or freeze the system but a simple reboot is all it takes to fix. Pros Has great filter to stop all spam. Has really nice quarantines section and can email users to show them emails that been quarantined . Easy to setup like the option to run it on your own server. Can scale it across servers if you need to. Its easy to setup whitelists and blacklists. Cons You can archive your emails but that not really a big con. Pros I like how it keeps a history so if someone isn't sure if an e-mail is safe, we can check it on the back end for them. It does a good job filtering out the spam. Cons I wish we could have the daily digest sent out more then once and we could pick what additional times. Even thought it has a link at the bottom of the daily digest to check your quarantine anytime, a lot of people ignore it. We also here that their previous spam vendor would 2 times a day so. With the increase case of people get attack by ransomware attach with their email, this software will totally protect me from that attack. Pros Combating spam and malware attack on my email is the biggest feature that SpamTitan has help me with. The email monitoring really work well and will block and notify me if any of the emails show strange behavior or comes from entrusted source. Cons SpamTitan is quite hard to learn all the feature and tools that comes with it. Some of the notification alert is too strange and i need to constantly referring back to the manual to know the description of the alert. Director of Operations Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Stunning support, extremely configurable, overly complex algorithm" July 10, 2018 4.0 We use the software to both manage the security and integrity of our client's email systems as well as our own. Pros The software is almost infinitely configurable and it's easy to get it working the way you want it to work. Once you get used to the console, navigation is easy and most important settings are placed logically. Cons The spam algorithms can be quite complex, almost overly so. As such, it's difficult to make it pick up some obvious spam and some spam can be missed and make it through to your inbox as a result. Although most important settings are where you'd expect them to be, there are some that are placed in really odd places. As an example, the services and tools (antivirus, ping, traceroute and the like) are located in the 'Reporting' tab and the Admins section (where you'd set up admins for the system) is in the 'Anti-Spam Engine' tab. Both of these sections are something you'd traditionally find in the 'Settings' tab / sections. Review Source DB Dave B. September 4, 2018 5.0 Positive with very respectable technical support. Pros I count on the protection and support of Spamtitan when it comes to my business and my customers. When it was first used with my hosted mail services, it was during a time when particular crypto-ransomwares were causing significant issues with my customers. Once I switched, problem solved and ironically, it was at that time that only my customers that did not utilize my Spamtitan solution continued to have issues. Cons The creation of an Microsoft Outlook Add-in module for Spam management would enhance the solution significantly. It has cost me some business as some of Spamtitan's competitors have this in use. Director of IT Plastics Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Very good spam & virus filtering front end" September 4, 2018 4.0 SpamTitan keeps the bulk of junk mail off out internal mail server, offloads the mail trasmission, and provides a 3rd layer of AV scanning (SpamTitam, Mail server, end point all have different AV software) Pros The interface is very responsive and easy to navigate. Installation was easy; regular updates are provides and also install very easily. Very few false positives. Cons No facility for custom scoring; mail is either 'good' and passes, or is 'bad' and is rejected. Many spam filtering system have a scoring system so that when particular conditions are met (key words in a subject or msg body, country of origin, time of day, bulk mail status, destination, sending TLD, etc), a cumulative score is created to determine spam status. Would love to have SpamTitan be able to add 'Posible spam' or some such to the subject so the mail server or user filters could pick it up. Review Source MB Morten B. Pros The software are easy to use and efficient Cons There is a long time between the updates in the software, this is both good and bad. IT Director Consumer Goods Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Great product, complete lack of support or communication from the company" September 7, 2018 5.0 We were getting 90% spam to our mailboxes before, now its closer to 10%. Pros The software is easy to setup, pretty easy to use and navigate. It stopped most of our spam issue (using the SpamTitan Gateway), got rid of quite a bit of sent in viruses (rest caught from Exchange or local clients). Cons Reboots and updates sometimes caused the file system to get "corrupted", requiring some cmd line level programs to get it healthy again. Also had issue with how licenses were counted as we only have 35-40 employees but they have multiple email addresses (first.last, fnlast, etc) and it shows up as 150+ people, really wish it was mailbox linked and not address linked. Our biggest issue is not with the software, but with the company. They have stopped answering emails, stopped answering the phones. We have been trying for a month and a half to get support and its radio silence. We still have 18+ months left on our 3 year contract and are already looking for a new product with actual support. Pros How easy and fast it was to setup and was working how it should. It did not take a lot of configuring to get it to work. It has lots of features and the web gui is easy to use. I like it has updates build right it. It sends a report to your users to let them know what emails been quarantined in case there was a false match. It catch lots and of spam and has good lists. It east to make white and black lists. You can self host on your own server. Cons It doesnt archive emails. You cant read emails once the been released. There really no other cons i can think of. November 11, 2020 5.0 Overall, I like the company, I like the support engineers, and they've always been VERY quick to help me resolve any issues I've had, even when not caused by the SpamTitan software, but related issues that were unclear to me where the problem was until resolved. Pros Ease of use for our users/employees, for releasing spam emails. Excellent support from company. Cons My only request would be that I wish it was a little easier to whitelist banned attachments from a specific email address. You can do it, but it's a bit more complicated than I wish it was. Pros Owning a small business, much of my time is spent sourcing new jobs by subscribing to online platforms or participating in online group chats. Additionally, I am often upgrading my own or my teams skillsets by undergoing online training. All of the above require that you offer and email and subscribe to services. SpamTitan has been great to filter out those email sources I've identified as spam, and for other emails that would be considered junk - SpamTitan does an absolutely terrific job in filtering out these emails. Cons The software was a bit tricky to install and understand how to set parameters for email screening. Once this was sorted out, it became an incredible ease to use and now it is a tool we employ on the regular to keep our email accounts clean of junk. Our provider (Network Solutions) was terrible to begin with, and trying to work with them on this issue was futile. Their customer support is the worst I have ever seen. Your product needs to get around problems like this so it becomes a non-issue. The product is great, but when your customer (us) can't work with your bad support and the hosting providers bad support, that doesn't work for us. Pros Fairly easy to use. Very effective. Did what we expected it to do. Cons We do not host our own email server, and because of that our email hosting company caused us much grief using your product. It worked perfectly for about 9 months, then our hosting provider changed something that they would not share with us rendering your product ineffective. Your customer support was not helpful at all in resolving this issue, therefore, we can not continue to pay for a product that will not work with a hosted email provider. Our support rep checks in constantly to make sure that everything is going well and their customers service has been exceptional as well when I needed assistance. Pros It was very easy to setup and use. It catches a lot a spam email than I expected and have definitely help significantly with reducing phishing emails. Cons The search functionality in for reporting can be changed so that you can search keywords if you are not sure what exactly you are looking for. Just a few false positives, but it quickly learns what we consider to be real and fake. Cons It took a bit of time at first to come through, and a few emails were lost in translation as we receive far more spam than we'd like, but it works great now and we'd never go back. Our inboxes are much more manageable, also lessening our bandwidth use. Cons There are regular reoccurring charges which is still fine because of the sheer quality, however I'd love the option to make a one-time purchase.
