Pros Stable, have not had one second unplanned downtime in 7 years. Does a good filtering job and good customasation optins for us. And the support guys in Ireland are very, very nice ond knowledgeable. And it is possible to call them, waiting time on telephone is always under 1 minute. Cons A bit troublesome to setup a cluster, but witrh help og support it was fixed in 7 minutes. We use it for several years, recently evaluated about 4 alternative and decided what we will stay with SpamTitan for a while. Pros 1\. Price. Much cheaper than competitors 2. Stability. Works for months without any issues Cons 1\. Lack of integration with Office 365 2. Poor end-user experience. 3. Poor integration with Outlook - plugin is not stable and quite useless. 4. Lack of freedom in filtering - would be nice to allow whitelisting RBL blocked messages, etc Reason for choosing SpamTitan Price, functionality, easy to use. Once installed, configured and trained, I can forget about it. I am a one person IT department for a 500+ employee company. The less time I have to spend on worrying about spam is more time I can dedicate to other projects. Cons A couple of admin interface oddities such as no confirmation when releasing/whitelisting/deleting messages in the Quarantine. Nothing would make me want to look for another solution. Be prepared to cancel your CC card. Pros The software did a great job filtering unwanted email. Cons When it was time to cancel there is no way to do this online. I submitted several tickets to have the account canceled. Spantitan to this day is still charging me for the software. I had to finally submit a fraud claim against them to get my money back. I emailed them to tell them what I was doing and they just decided not to answer or make any attempt to cancel the account. I'm going to have to cancel my card to finally get rid of them! No cool! I have several different monthly services on the same card. Do this day they have not canceled the account and I am still fighting with them - 3 months now. We have used it several times in the past few years, to repurpose our IronPort Cisco boxes. Easy install \[ once you make the VGA port available again\] And they still run, we have re-extended our licenses several times. We have one that we have extended it's purpose as a spam filter for 4 years plus... So nice. Highly recommended! Pros I like the very understandable interface, everything is where it would logically be found. I like simple and easy to manage, and Spam Titan is exactly that. Pros I like the ease of use and the simple steps to get up and running. The effectiveness of the filtering is really good. I do not have many if any emails categorized as spam that aren't spam. It takes a week or two for the system to get tuned. All the users are happy with it and that simplifies my life too. The report system is nice and the option to be able to generate or change settings directly from the previous report email is perfect. The number of features and availability of support makes this the best choice in a crowded marketplace. Pros I has an insanely high catch rate. It very rarely quarantines "good" emails and if it does, there are many tools for users to recover and whitelist future emails. The SPAM ratings have been designed very well, and we have not had an email with a malicious attachment or URL pass through. The reporting functionality is by far one of the best I have ever used. The white/black listing is super easy to understand and changes save very fast. Cons The Quarantine report is lacking in efficiency, we have some employees that cannot wait 24 hours to release an email. The amount of emails that have been falsely identified as SPAM is much higher than I expected. We are experiencing good looking emails quarantined as SPAM for no good reason. Support is outstanding. Global and user Black and White lists. Cons Outlook Plug-in could be better - more tightly integrated. Would like admin level SPAM/NOT SPAM marking of history. Pros The software has a very organized and attractive web interface. Functions and features are grouped and sorted logically. Once you have the system setup very little tuning is necessary. Best of all: end-users can manage their own spam-queue and the reporting and logging is a sysadmin's dream. Cons When used in a cluster, not all settings are mirrored to all cluster members, like "trusted networks" (networks allowed to relay). A more granular backup/restore per item would come in handy. Pros It shows you emails incoming and outgoing. Cons \-Emails and the spam scoring system - it blocks completely genuine emails 1 week, and lets through a load of junk the next week. It's lacking intuitiveness of other competitors. -Regularly have to phone because a user will start receiving 'unsolicited bulk spam' and their emails get blocked sending out. -The support level you receive when calling, id say only 1/3 of the staff know the product. -When calling in, sometimes the phones just rings for about 10mins and then cuts you off.
