From a security point of view too, it's as good as it can get. Pros Microsoft Teams has now become the global way to chat and collaborate with other users. It's easily available on most platforms, including mobile. The audio and video quality is crystal clear. Lastly, it's integration with SharePoint is god-sent. Everyone can just upload the file on SharePoint and we can then easily share it across. Cons The GUI - Teams GUI is not still not as refined compared to the competition. New users often find it difficult to use it and they take a lot of time to understand it's features. This results in a lot of time spent on user training. Reason for choosing Microsoft Teams Choosing Teams was pretty easy as it was included as a part of our Office 365 subscription so we didn't really look at alternatives. Sometime after signing out from application due to password change and again logging in over PC application it asks for password again and again. 2. Before we used Teams, we primarily communicated through email. Often it was difficult to find a file attached to an email thread. Teams organizes our work and sets us up for better communication with the Post and Chat features. Pros Microsoft Teams is great software for working on multiple projects with different team members remotely. My organization is primarily remote staff across the nation. Teams gives us a place to communicate and organize our work. I'm a member of several different "Teams," and within each Team, we utilize the "Channels" function. Channels allow us to even organize different phases of a project. Each Channel has three basic functions: Post, Files, and Notes. (You can add more.) Post allows our team to communicate within a specific channel; Files allows us to upload files and folders that apply only to that channel; and Notes allows us to keep our meeting notes in one place. Microsoft Teams has helped our project teams to stay organized and communicate and collaborate more effectively. Cons Something I've found slightly frustrating is that sometimes it's difficult to go easily navigate backward after selecting a file path. Occasionally if I'm looking for a file and go to the wrong folder and need to go back, it will take me back to the original Files page instead of just one level back. The clients usually have it installed and have used it before, so there is no need to go through the process of convincing them and teaching them how to use it. Even if at this point it feels a bit outdated, I think that it does it work in a simple and solid manner. Pros I've always used it on my PC as a work tool and for the occasional family call. It is great when a work is being done with a remote team and the screen sharing sure helps a lot with the work. The quality of the calls and video is usually good even with a mediocre connection and it tends to be very stable. Cons It feels like it hasn't had an update for years and it would benefit from some new functionalities that other apps have. We use it for daily scrums and basically all other communication since going remote. There are still a few slack and skype holdouts, but they're slowly converting as well Pros Teams has a ton of great features. What I especially like the granular access control for file sharing as well as a single screen to see uploaded files. We use file sharing a lot and almost always want to be able to easily find files again. Unlike slack, where file attachments are in the message queue, teams has a files screen to quickly and easily see all files. Cons It's not the most intuitive software. Slack is much easier to get up to speed on using. Teams takes some poking around and work to figure it all out. However, I think this is because it tries to be more than Slack. Another thing I don't like is that I can't see attendees when sharing my screen. It gives you as a customer several basic opportunities to stay connected with others and integrate with more products of Microsoft, such as Word, Excel and others. Pros Microsoft teams is not only an application in which you can meet with colleagues and others. It is also an application in which you can easily share documents and other files. Besides that you can track progression in documents and keep others posted about what you just edited. Cons In the beginning, right after the implementation, a lot of meetings in which I participated produced a lot of weird noises that made it hard to understand each other. Another annoying thing I experienced was the fact that after I updated the software my audio settings were changed. Eventough it's easy to change te settings back, it is kinda annoying that it happens every time after the update. Like all Microsoft products, the platform is dependent on Microsoft-supporting software, so I've noticed some issues with integration on my iPhone, Macbook, etc., but these are minimal and standard for the Apple-to-Microsoft world. Overall, the application has streamlined my communications tools and provided more immediate response communications that have been constrained due to an entirely remote work environment.
