The Teams channels, that offer not only chatrooms and cloud space, but also allow information to be uploaded and updated. It is a secure platform, accessible to everyone with the appropriate authorization. Additionally, it is beneficial to separate admin rights from viewer and editing permissions. This allows for effective distribution of work and ensures that results are delivered by the appropriate group.

Cons

In the AI-generated transcript, it would be great if the system could improve accuracy.

Pros

The collaboration tools are excellent and there are NUMEROUS add-in features!

Cons

File sharing is inconsistent and often fails to upload. Also, the Mac version of Teams has so many bugs.

I was happy with how quick and simple it was to get started with the app. Sign in was quick too . I am able to use this for more then just talking about my items. I was able to use it with my friends son when would help him with school during COVID time having to to online schooling. Made it easier for him to still be able to see his teacher. He has autism and use to a routine. To have the availability to use it any time of day is a great help. No lagging or freezing while using it.

Pros

Simple to use and navigate the app. Downloaded quick

Cons

Have to pay extra to enable call features.

Pros

I like Teams calls and the side panel that comes up, which allows you to type out notes. Also, very easy integration with Outlook (yes, a duh since both are Microsoft products)

Cons

You can't add new apps, it requires an admin to do it and even with that, not as many apps are available. Creating channels can be a bit clunky of a process.

For a free or paid version, this offers the combination of meetings and also storage. It is easy to create meeting instantly and also to join. Even in low bandwidth mode, this works just fine.

Pros

I have used this application to do meetings for office works. The initial onboard meeting was held in Microsoft Teams. They have a very fine app for mobile devices. I can manage my works and project using different team. So, its easy to catalog all upcoming project works. Also, the video and audio quality is great.

Cons

There is no way to upload the recording of meetings to Google Drive or other 3rd party storage providers. Also, it takes time to load in windows application.

My overall experience with skype was a very polarizing one. Kind of love-hate. It was cool to be able to message my contacts over the internet, but with that, came problems. Like random drop outs, robotic voices at times, and unfortunately not being able to call phone numbers without a separate purchase.

Pros

I liked how easy it was to contact and message people on the app. It was mostly seamless...mostly.

Cons

There were a lot of connection errors and dropouts the last time I used Skype. It used a very flawed protocol for VOIP and it showed a lot when calling others.

Teams does well at managing our meetings and communicating across projects.

Pros

It's a consistent platform that my and other companies can use. It integrates with the other Microsoft products and centralizes communication, planning, and project planning.

Cons

I least like how calendar view works with opening events. When opening an event, the calendar returns to this week. This makes it hard to capture and transfer information from the previous week in a use case such as reporting.

Overall, Teams is fantastic for Teams, collaboration, and courses. I love using it for these purposes whereas, Zoom is often my go-to when setting up video calls with individuals who do not have or use Teams.

Pros

Versatility and functionality of platform including the ability to have breakout groups that can be timed and automated to return back to main group sessions. Variety of features for presentation options as well, and generally good quality video and audio.

Cons

It does't appear to be option (or at least easy to figure out) how to have two different Microsoft Teams accounts via different emails and to toggle between both accounts on the Desktop version. You have to log out and log back in each time. At least my version causes this. I also find it is inconvenient to host meetings that may involve people who do not usually use Teams, as it is far more work to join a session for non-users and can be difficult to navigate. Especially in comparison to a platform like Zoom where a link can be selected and the video meeting pops up with ease.

I've had a lot of trouble when getting Teams invites from a company to myself being an external source. I do not have the same capabilities to log in as they do internally, and often meeting links don't show up correctly on the calendar, etc.

Pros

Microsoft for Teams works really well when using it internally with an organization that uses Microsoft for everything.

Cons

Teams does not work well when using it with people outside of the organization.

I have a not very pleasant experience with Business Skype. The messages are often not getting delivered, the image sending is disabled, the call/video quality is low and so on.

Pros

It’s a product that exists for long and is still a popular internet telephony solution.

It works really badly, especially the business app.

Overall experience has been good with few shortcomings, it's a great tool if you're using MS suite products such as power apps and excel as it allows seamless integration

Pros

Teams is the ultimate workplace communication application that pairs very well with the Microsoft suite and integrates with a lot of apps

Cons

Teams often takes a lot of memory while running. I personally don't really like the notification pop up, and when there's bandwidth issues the messages takes time to get delivered

Microsoft Teams helps me as a PhD student, especially during the COVID-19 time, as it facilitated virtual meetings and discussions. The calendar management ensured efficient use of time and helped me share and access essential documents and data while keeping track of my research tasks.

Cons

The interface can be cluttered and overwhelming at times, and performance can slow down with larger or more complex data. Also, notifications can sometimes be excessive and distracting, and third-party integrations occasionally have compatibility issues.
