Pros Microsoft Teams accomplishes my corporate meeting needs by facilitating HD video and DOLBY voice quality during video and web conferencing. MT being a Microsoft ecosystem allows me to enjoy many more features through integrations. I began using it in college around 2019 and now I use it in work. It is a really good communication app. Pros I like how easy it is to communicate with my co-workers. It allows us to know who is busy and who is not. It also allows us to group all of us together to easily communicate as a team. If we all have to work from home, it is also easy to set up a face-to-face meeting through them as well. There is also easy access to the calendar and one drive as well all from teams. Cons I would like to say there are little cons about teams. I have not personally ran into any big cons. I always end up exiting out of teams completely when someone sends me an attachment. I believe making a clear exit for the attachments would be my only response. Notifications are not reliable, however, it is pretty easy to use. Pros Microsoft Teams is relatively user friendly. It acts as a branch of the Microsoft Suite of applications, giving easy access to things like Outlook Calendar, Sharepoint, Onedrive, and most importantly, a chat feature. Notifications from SharePoint are pushed through to our Teams platform, which is incredibly helpful for keeping up with announcements. Being able to send a quick chat, instead of an email, is also a key feature for us. Cons I find the notifications to be unreliable. There are times when I'll see new messages and activities push through, sometimes with an icon on the screen. Other times, I'll receive no notification at all and will only find out there is something new in Teams after I open it up. Review Source Lauren S. The display keeps me organized, on track and also helps with scheduling meetings for large groups. Cons If you have to update a meeting after the original invite is sent, the update resends the entire invite. This forces all attendees to have to re-accept the invitation and can create confusion. Teams integrates seamlessly with M365 apps like outlook, SharePoint, and OneDrive. Additionaly, Teams offered better value since it was already included in our 365 subscription. Pros I love the fact that you can communicate with mutiple peope withing your organization, but you can also set up calls and meetings with people thats arent in your organization. It also integrates well with alot if other apps and platforms which i think is amazing. Cons I wish it was able to send bugger files to people. It is well integrated into the entire MS platform, and very intuitive. Cons During the early days of the launch, call quality was poor, there were no backgrounds and the chat feature was clunky. IT Director Religious Institutions Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Teams - One Stop Shop for VOIP and Instant Messaging in your Org" July 24, 2025 5.0 Full Disclosure - I work at a nonprofit Org so I get discounted rates via TechSoup. That said, Teams pricing rates are great bang for our buck. We use the Instant Message heavily in our Org for quick messages to teammates and for "bulletin board" type posts to the Org as a whole using Channels, as well as Team communication on separate Team Channels. Pros The VOIP! For us, we don't need a complicated Menu Tree when someone calls into your Org, we just want it to go to Receptionist who then passes the call out to who it goes to or takes a message. Our Org HATED using hard phones and now we are free to just use the Teams App on our personal devices. No more missing calls because you were mobile, no more expensive hardware. Plus, we only pay a monthly fee for the Users who actually need to make Outbound calls which greatly cut our phone bill down. The Instant Messaging "just works" so it's hard to pinpoint an area to praise - it does what you would expect and it does it very well. If you are an O365 shop, you should really consider adding it to your Org. Cons No much, I really can't think of a nagging negative thing to say about Teams. As I mentioned above, if we DID have a complex Phone Tree need, then I don't think Teams would be a good fit. And if you want to use your old desk phones, they probably won't work with this system, we needed to buy new up to date phones for those few that wanted a desk phone still. Cons My company is relatively small and in my opinion Microsoft Teams is for a company with that is a bit larger. We use it only for our weekly conference meetings.
