Pros Almost all of the feature of Microsoft is equally likable non are less in comparison. But still, I like the most is its video conferencing feature as we can do unlimited minutes of calls. Also, the security is own itself a thing which we don't forget. The trust from MICROSOFT is also something which is important. Cons The app itself takes a lot of system resources for its functioning that is the most disliked part. I wouldn't recommend for external persons. There are so many features that can be helpful and useful; however, it takes some time to figure out how to use them. Pros Great for workplaces as it helps to collaborate and communication easily with your groups/teams. You can create various groups, use the chat feature, share information, documents, and use apps. You can also pin frequently used apps at the top of the group for easy access. Video conferencing is great for virtual meetings. You can create video calls with the usual features and more. You are able to create the call, invite persons to join, use voice and video, share screen, upload documents, use chat features, record and save the video etc. I like that you are able to upload a PowerPoint which gives you more functionality than other meeting/conferencing programs. You can also call persons individually (VoIP) using WiFi or data. Teams integrates with other Microsoft products where you can use apps through the Teams program. In an increasingly virtual space, it is also helpful when working from home/remotely. There is also a mobile app which makes taking calls or joining meetings easy from whenever you are. Cons Not as suited for use with external persons outside of your team. It is not as user friendly as you would expect and takes some time getting used to it. Persons may need some MS Teams specific training in order to navigate the software, especially for persons we are not tech savvy. It is difficult to understand how to use some of the features and integrations. For example, you are able to add various apps to groups but it takes some tinkering aroung to figure out how to use them in the group. Any time I have the opportunity to recommend a collaboration platform, I recommend Teams/Office 365. Pros Teams (as a feature of Office 365) is easily one of the most affordable and comprehensive collaboration tools for teams. With the easy integration of other Microsoft tools, along with the many features that are added or updates on an ongoing basis, I haven’t found any other collaboration platform that is close to comparing to Teams - regardless of price point. Cons Although Teams is very robust and has many features updated on an ongoing basis, it still feels like Teams is often playing catch-up with features offered by other collaboration tools like Zoom and Slack. While the integration with the full Office suite still makes Teams convenient, more time spent on updating these tools with innovations not just pulled from other platforms would be appreciated! It is helpful if you want to share the screen securely also, you can give permission to your friend or colleague to show your presentations, and you can explain it while your colleagues can do the slideshow of the presentation; hence work can be distributed easily among the members. Also, If anyone is absent I can quickly record the sessions and share them. Also, all the meetings links are readily available in the Calendar option from where we can easily access them. Pros I use Microsoft Teams to do video conferencing with my colleagues and friends, and I can say it is the best platform. I can share the presentations and documents securely, and also has the option to add a person in the ongoing meetings. I can also record the meetings without required any permissions from my colleagues, and I can give the control to share my PowerPoint Presentations to whoever I want. Another advantage is Microsoft Teams directly creates a meeting group chat and all the discussions/chats stays forever in the meeting group unless deleted. One more advanatge is the status option, where I can manage my status manually from available, away, in a call, offline as per my requirements. Cons The main issue is the status show option; whenever I stay away from the Teams for a specific period, it shows the blank status, and I need to refresh the page. Microsoft Teams consolidates multiple related communication functions into one application. File sharing, team organization, instant messaging, voice calls, video calls, informal polls, screen sharing... The problem we're solving is around communication, especially in a remote world. I find that Teams is a great way to do that, especially if you already have Microsoft Office or other Microsoft Products like SharePoint. It's great that we only have 1 app to go to for a lot of different things, and Teams has helped us stay connected somewhat in a remote work world. Pros Teams consolidated a few of my different communication platforms, and for that I am grateful. It's a good instant messaging and video call application. One benefit that I like is that it allows for quick transition from Chat to Call with Screen share, and remote control. I actually use this to support people on some sites and reports that I support. Instead of having to call them on the phone, then use other applications to connect for a screen share, and further type in information to request control, I can just use Teams. Quick IT support was a big unexpected benefit. We've also used some of the functionality to host virtual social activities. Teams is very easy to use and navigate. While I was not in the IT team that set up this application, so can't speak to the setup difficulty, I find it integrates well with other Microsoft products, such as SharePoint (file sharing) and Outlook (availability status). Cons One thing I never liked too much with Teams over something like Skype had was the size of the chat window. I find it a bit big, and difficult to make small and hide off to the side. It essentially takes up a small side monitor along with Outlook emails. My other complaint is that sometimes there are echoes in the voice calls, more likely with multiple people. This often happens if someone has a weird microphone setup or joined with multiple devices. You can fix it by muting when not talking. Additionally, the file search is not great. You're much better off going to the SharePoint site (where the files are actually stored, and I assume it's that way for other companies as well) and searching from the SharePoint site. I can't search well through whole channels to find a document when there are subfolders. Aside from that, I think it covers a lot of features, and is easy to use. Review Source Vansh C. The more seamless tie-up with Windows 11 will make it even more appealing in the future. Pros I used Teams mainly for university lectures, and video conferencing was generally a breeze. The layout is a lot more modern, and appealing as compared to Zoom, which looks plain outdated. It even works well with mobile data, which is critical. I also appreciate Microsoft making Teams a holistic app for collaboration; more than video conferencing, a Team can have posts, comments replies etc. and notes and files can also be shared. You can also chat and conference with individual members of a team seamlessly, which is handy. Cons While there are a lot of features, the app is noticeably slower to load than the likes of Zoom. I tried the app on several devices, and it didn't feel snappy enough. Opening the Files section of a Team for example, was always followed by 5-10 seconds of buffer, regardless of the device or Wi-Fi strength. Clicking on the video on/off or mute/unmute toggle was almost always followed by a 2-second wait before the app took action. This is definitely something Microsoft can work on. Cons The integration with Outlook Calendar can be a bit buggy at times if meetings are moved, especially if they have to be moved multiple times. It is an extremely a global communication to talk to the people easily. I like it the most because it’s easy for me to communicate with my superior since I have the microsoft teams app on my phone. Cons I don't like how Teams allow me to same two groups with the exact same know which has caused confusion on my part and the fact that I didn't get notification about such a mistake later.
