### "You can be in the office, whilst being miles away with Microsoft teams"

January 14, 2022

5.0

An easy to use, and absolutely necessary part of our new normal called remote working. Work life has been able to continue and thrive during these trying times.

Pros

The ability to combine and use Microsoft applications, together with audio and video has really brought the office into the next century. Teams are able to stay in contact and up to date on all business related matters. It's easy to navigate and use.

Cons

It depends on internet connectivity, so once you lose this, you can potentially lose a whole days worth of meetings and work.

### "Ubuntu app really needs improvement. "

July 13, 2021

3.0

Good for calls, internal and external meetings, screenshare. Integrated with outlook calenders so its great. Still not the best for chat. Even though Teams is free on our plan, we still use slack for chat, it's just not UI friendly or feature rich yet. Ubuntu app sucks.

Pros

When it works, it's great. We use it daily for calls, meetings and it has been great. Screen share works great even with number of internal and external user. Web app is slowly adding more functionalities which is great. Call quality has been great, no drop or issues in 2 plus years I have used.

Cons

Linux app. I wish they gave it a higher priority. My work provides us with Ubuntu Laptops and Teams app on it is just pain. Sound issues, mic issues, much much less feature compared to Mac/Windows app. Tried both stable and insider build and they have been awful that I always revert to Web app. I rather pin the Web app on Chrome than open native Teams app. It's also a Ram hogg on Ubuntu unfortunately.

### "In order of worst: Skype, Google Hangouts, and Teams "

December 10, 2021

3.0

While I appreciate the international flexibility and heightened security that Teams offers to facilitate collaboration with suppliers in Turkey, India, China and Hong Kong, Zoom is still the king in terms of video call quality, collaboration features, ease of use, and syncing with other programs I use daily.

Pros

I know the security features make it a workable video call option for many companies, and it also works across multiple countries, including China, where Google and Zoom do not.

Cons

There are always audio quality and connectivity issues, no matter what time of day or which country we're meeting with.

### "Microsoft Team Experience"

October 9, 2022

4.0

Since we have implemented Microsoft Teams company-wide, our employees have been very satisfied with it. It is an application that everyone uses on a daily basis and have grown to like it.

Pros

Microsoft is a critical software package for our company. It is used company-wide for internal chatting and video conferencing. It was easy to deploy to all of our clients, desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. It is all cloud-based with no on-premise servers needed.

Cons

It was very time-consuming to configure all of the backend settings. It is very dependent on internal networks and external internet speeds. Because it is all cloud-based, if there is an issue, there is nothing my staff can do.

It has been a great experience using Microsoft Teams as it is a savior in these tough times after lockdown and online work and meetings.

Pros

the screen sharing options and presentation tools options are the features that are most useful for me.

Cons

It sometimes hangs and takes some more time than required to load the meetings and webpage so it is great time taking in that case

Teams has allowed us to work remotley in a more efficient way where we don't need to share files in another plartform and meet on a different one everything is at the same place

Pros

\- Easy to setup even those who are less technical can set it up -Syncs with sharepoint making sharing of files easy -allows simultaneous editing of a shared document -Meeting recording are saved at sharpoint and a file is automaticaly made at it arranges them -Transcription allows you to quickly read the convo and go to the area of interest on the recording

Cons

\-while it is easy to setup setting up other softwares like white keyboards software on it is difficult -Simple to use for basics but complicated for advanced features -Bug with the background filter app preview

### "A decent alternative for work messages, but not the best option"

January 12, 2022

4.0

My experience with Microsoft Teams has been mixed. On one hand, it is a very useful call software and its notification system works really well. On the other hand, I find the interface not pleasant and not intuitive, and to my opinion it still misses some separation features like between group chats and personal chats. The possibility to see user status is nice, as well as the out of office information. The channels of a given team are easy to use and to navigate through and the comments system works well. However, I have used teams on both Windows and Ubuntu Linux and while it works well on Windows it still has a lot of bugs on Ubuntu Linux, which are unresolved and make competitors such as Slack gain quite a lot in this aspect.

Pros

The strongest point of Microsoft Teams is the call quality and the integration with outlook. Teams makes it possible to share calendars and check the availability of meeting participants, so that the scheduling can be done accordingly. The calls are always smooth and audible, and the interface of calls is very nice. One strong point is the ability to have both chat and call in the same software. The "Teams" feature is also well developed with the many channels helping workflow.

Cons

The interface is not pleasant. Adding documents and files to a chat makes it hard to find them again and the way the pinned tabs work is not really intuitive. Additionally, group chats and personal chats all appear in the same place under "chat" but it could be nice to have a separation between them, such that it is easier to understand who the messages are being send to. Slack does something similar by not only separating them but also putting a hashtag in front of channels, which makes it much easier to distinguish. The integration of apps such as OneNote is not optimal and keeping documentation is not intuitive and caused us to switch to a different documentation software.

### "Best Team Communication"

September 8, 2021

5.0

Pros

We use Microsoft teams as a daily method of communication - basically AOL chat for professionals. It lets us get quick messages from the home office to the entire team, or to individuals, without having to create a confusing email chain. The team uses it much more frequently, since it's basically texting with a purpose. We also use it for weekly video chats, so we have the feeling of an office meeting without actually all being in the same place.

Cons

Honestly, the only bad thing about Teams is that once you have it on your phone, you're constantly connected. You'll find yourself answering messages at night and on weekends. It's so simple and fast, you don't even realize you're working when you should be sleeping.

### "Systems Adminitrator & Educator's perspective on MS Teams"

September 10, 2021

5.0

Teams made the transition of work from home very easy. Collaboration integration with Word and Whiteboard made educational settings significantly easier especially in the early days of covid lock down. Over all staff at my full time system administrator job have found the video conference, team chatting, file sharing and instant messaging to be a more useful tool than e-mail. Many have been able to communicate issues across the city and determine outages and impact at a faster rate than we would have in the past. While this might have been doable with a third party product the use of Teams with O365 integration makes the product much easier to use.

Pros

Most users have found Microsoft teams easy to use. The integration with the other office products makes it substantially easier to leverage than another competing product.

Cons

Microsoft is constantly changing the product to improve things but users find the changes hard to keep up with. I have found the usage of third party applications to be difficult or cumbersome to access. Recently used apps are not available in a quick launch button.

Integration with Active Directory allowed the creation of meeting without scheduling conflicts much easier to create. The classroom invite function and attendance management inside the office suite made it easier to track attendees than having to pull from a third party application.

It was good, but in the end Google won me over with Workspace and the affiliated Google networks.

Pros

I liked how we could view meetings from a browser, mobile app or a desktop instalment. The quality of the meetings improved with the downloaded desktop version so I highly recommend you download the app.

Cons

The conferencing was an excellent feature however, my video screen sharing would great some video performance issues with attendees. Overall, an excellent SaaS for small business owners who use PC.

### "Most useful workspace"

June 4, 2021

5.0

Overall, this product has been a great addition to my working process. I work freelance on a lot of different projects within my company (and others). When using this software over the other methods of file sharing, I find this much easier to work as part of a team and really fine tune the work that we do. I have various projects that I complete with the same group of people at any given time, so having this software has been a relief for organisation, workload management as well as task mastering. I enjoy the mixed features of social and business, it is current, intuitive and overall makes my life easier!

Pros

This software has made life that much easier. It is intuitive, covers all development and production needs for different projects and allows you to manage your workload, as well as work with other fluently. Communication is effective, it can be used for a variety of needs, such as document / project production, meetings, training, reviews, and any other collaborative work. I find it intuitive, easy to use, easy to manage self, very effective when communicating with others and overall makes and development much, much easier. The company uses this for various reasons, but what I find most effective is the ability to work so much more cohesively with a team. It combines all current social abilities (messenger, file share, workspace, video meetings, live documents, etc) with a strong and effective organisational structure for files.

Cons

Previously there were issues with the desktop app being unable to refresh and update upon login, therefore not being able to access files / the current development(s). This can be easily resolved by quitting the software and opening it again, as well as going through the login / authentication process again, but as you can imagine, this is not desired. The app stays logged in, thankfully, so messages are never missed. Perhaps the timer on the log out may need adjusting? Not the end of the world, but does cause a delay in starting work for a minute or so.

### "Working from home just got a whole lot easier throughout 2021"

December 28, 2021

5.0

Microsoft Teams, Wow Wow Wow! Well long gone are the days of spending 20 to 30 mins trying to get all my learners to battle through Cisco WebEx's complex dial in process....OMG the nightmares so many of us had with that is just beyond belief. Teams has been a lifesaver, timesaver, stress reducer in a time of high anxiety. It's been a brilliant investment by our workplace. We have our working meetings so easy to set up and in contrast to other softwares, there is no time limit. We can pass files back and forth, open files simultaneously to work collaboratively. It's saving huge amounts of time, improved efficiency and hence increased productivity. It has been a brilliant promoter of paper free working, less emails, and more in the moment work.

Pros

The video conferencing, screen sharing and being able to invite a limitless number of colleagues to the meeting with such ease has to be one of it's top strengths. Live transcription on the go during meetings Ability to see our colleagues in the display individually or a together mode on the seats; it's an extraordinary touch. Absolutely love how you're able to change backgrounds throughout the meeting during conferencing Very easy to set up and in contrast to other softwares, there is no time limit. The ability to pass files & documents back and forth and to open files simultaneously to work collaboratively. It's saving us huge amounts of time, improved efficiency and hence increased productivity. Breakout rooms are a breeze to set up and makes life so much easier.

Cons

Low bandwidth can be an issue, would have to switch the cameras off to compensate. Have to mute chats to stop notifications constantly popping up in the bottom right hand corner - can be very distracting during sessions. The whiteboards need better integration, e.g. being able to prepare prior to session, save after completion of sessions etc.

### "Microsoft Teams - "A great collaboration software""

December 6, 2021

4.0

Overall, Microsoft Teams is a great application for collaboration. It has increased productivity, collaboration and team work. This virtual application has helped me to execute and complete team projects at college and at work. Moreover, with the challenges that have arisen during the pandemic such as physical/social distancing, staff meetings still took place because Microsoft Teams made this possible via its virtual platform.

Pros

Microsoft Teams is easy to use and it is generally free. It is also accessible on mobile phones, therefore I can attend meetings or collaborate with others at anytime, from anywhere in the world. Furthermore, I did not like to speak up at meetings and ask questions, however, with Microsoft Teams' chat box feature, I can ask questions in the chat box and let my voice be heard.

Cons

Even though Microsoft Teams is good application, it has some drawbacks. For instance, there can be audio and video issues during meetings, which can cause miscommunication among participants. Furthermore, the way in which Microsoft Teams store files can be confusing. In addition, the application uses a lot of storage space on my device, which annoys me.

### "Microsoft Teams- Critical to Corporate Communications "

September 23, 2022

4.0

Overall, I enjoy using Teams and my colleagues and I plan to continue to implement this in our daily communications. I hope to see improvements in the screen sharing feature.

Pros

I like how easy it is to use, and the multiple ways this can be incorporated into communications with my colleagues. I especially enjoy the feature where you can share files in chat rooms. I also have not had any technical issues so far. I also like that we can setup meetings directly from Outlook. In outlook, we can generate meeting link and details in less than one minute.

Cons

The screen sharing feature can be improved. There is a lot of delay and lag, which takes away from the benefits of real time screen sharing. This is not ideal of presentations, and also wastes time.

### "Teams Makes Virtual Work Easy"

October 27, 2021

5.0

Overall, I enjoy using Teams and feel as if it has made working virtually a breeze.

Pros

Microsoft Teams is an amazing tool to use for virtual work especially in a team environment or even a classroom. I work primarily in a large team. We use teams to send information easily and quickly to multiple people at once. We also maintain our project plan in Teams allowing easy access for all to view and update the project plan in live time and multiple people can access and edit at once with no glitches. For example, when filtering on an excel sheet in Teams you can view your filters only on your own screen (without filtering for everyone in the book). Lastly, Teams also allow for channels to be created for multiple chats and pages to be active at once. I utilize this feature to stay in touch with different groups/clubs I am a part of at work.

Cons

What I like least about this software is the chat function. While it acts likes a normal group chat and saves your messages -- sometimes the messages get frozen at the top or at a certain message. So for example, I could enter a group chat and 100 messages could have occurred but it will be stuck at one message so to read all the others I have to scroll down 100 old messages to view the most recent one. Not sure why it does this! Seems to be some sort of glitch.

### "Microsoft Teams quality, performance & features make it my preferred business communication platform"

October 29, 2021

4.0

Since lockdown Microsoft Teams became the primary business collaboration tool used by the entire workforce and has continued that way even after returning to the workplace.

Pros

Call and video quality and performance for majority of meeting sizes is second to none. All the necessary features available, but my favourites are easy to use content screen sharing & file transfer, call recording, outlook calendar integration and ability for participants to browse forward/backward on powerpoint slides being displayed.

Cons

The only area to criticise is when hosting large conferences >200 participants, is that quality suffers and videos sharing is suffers significant buffering.

### "Great for schools!"

February 6, 2021

5.0

As I mentioned earlier, for all our online communications and also for presentation and class team discussions, we mainly used email. With the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic, management decided to leverage Microsoft teams with integrated voice and video calling features along with content sharing and presentations that enable seamless online classes, upskilling, online training, and webinars in the education sector across different geographical locations around the globe. I am also an Edtech Specialist and head of the Community Engagement and Extension Services in our department.

Pros

I am using Microsoft Teams for more than a year now every day with my students, colleagues, and others. There's a little learning curve with colleagues in using the application. I could share, manage and build team spaces. This is pretty useful in creating different school/business activities and seamlessly integrates other MS products. With integrated Voice and Video Messaging Services, Calendar scheduling, we can communicate according to the availability of users at any time. Also, I can configure my availability with various options or even modify it to determine that I am offline/not at the desk right now for other users to know. The best part is that I can use 3rd party integration application right inside MS Teams.

Cons

Sometimes Microsoft Teams get hanged because of network or Heap Memory problems, but this could happen with any communication software as we use multiple installed software on our machines to meet the distance education requirements. There is a minor delay between receiving a text on your laptop and your mobile device. Many times, it happens that I have to go out or take a break for some time, and I receive a message but with a delay on my configured mobile device.

### "Still some kinks to work out when collaborating with others "

April 28, 2020

4.0

It's great for scheduling video calls and for quick feedback or approvals when trying to cut down on inbox clutter. But your organization must create rules for which content belongs in Teams, and which on email... otherwise you'll find yourself having to search multiple sources for documented approval or that one PDF you need to forward along to another user.

Pros

Teams has a useful mobile feature that allows me to answer questions on the go. Individual chats as well as "teams channels" for multiple users are meant to streamline collaboration, including live document editing by multiple users. Similar to Zoom, the platform also allows for video calling that integrates with Outlook and integration with Sharepoint means that documents that are difficult to find in Teams are still backed up on the cloud.

Cons

Teams is a bit clunky. Editing documents within the platform is glitchy, especially when using a Mac - PowerPoint content looks as if it's bleeding off the page, and fonts are automatically substituted if one user hasn't installed the correct fonts, meaning that it's still often necessary to download PowerPoints and word docs for finalization. It's also easy to become overwhelmed. Users must receive extensive training - creating a chat for multiple people is one thing, while creating a Teams channel is entirely another (although their functions are on the surface level, the same). When a new teams channel is created, so is a new email address. My enterprise conducted months of training and many users, especially those who are less confident with tech, still expressed frustrations or made mistakes that necessitated IT involvement to fix. We've also experienced issues with video call feedback and dropoff.

### "Getting closer to everything one could want..."

November 29, 2021

4.0

On the whole, Teams is critical to the success of my everyday work and performs it's function well.

Pros

Teams continues to get better over time to the point that each of it's applications, say meetings for instance, is nearly on par with it's competitor's offerings; however, the advantage that Teams has is that it is an all-in-one application. As both an engineer and project manager, this multifaceted application, with a centralized file keeping system, is crucial in keeping track of everything.

Cons

There are a few features that would improve the experience: 1.) For meetings, it would be nice to be able to draw on the screen of other colleagues. The whiteboard function offered by Teams is good, but it's not quite as good as being able to draw directly on another's screen as can be done with Zoom. For engineer's, that would be a big bonus. 2.) There should be the option to add words to the dictionary, as with other MS applications. This is particularly a bit annoying for meeting notes. 3.) The search function needs a bit of work. There's not an easy way to search the words in the given application (e.g. searching for text in the meeting notes is not easy). Also, the file search isn't always that great returning confusing results sometimes. Perhaps with more customization options for the user's search (i.e. like do you want to search for files, photos, text, documents, etc.) this would be more targeted and helpful.

My experience has been very good, since we started with Microsoft Teams, communication between teams has been more fluid, faster and easier, we were able to concentrate meetings, messages and training from a single medium.

Pros

This product is very easy to use and is combined with other applications such as Outlook. It allows you to use many features, chat, messaging, conferences, audio calls, video calls, meetings, etc.

Cons

The truth is that there are very few against it, it is an application that works very well, I think that its access is difficult when using tools other than Microsoft.

### "Pretty good software with some unfortunate weak spots"

September 18, 2018

4.0

We use it as an all-around communication software, and overall it works quite well (despite the minor hiccups described above). Thanks to wikis and planners we can even include some other elements of our collaboration structure in Teams, enabling us to get by with only two software systems: Teams for communications and Scoro for task and project management as well as CRM and billing.

Pros

The basic functionality is quite good. It essentially does what it's supposed to do: It allows you to chat with team members. The direct chat option is pretty straightforward. The option of creating different teams (hence the name) to structure the group chats is quite conventient, because it adds another layer, making it three: Teams, channels, threads (within channels). Notifications are pretty reliable, mentions and activities in channels you follow are logged into an activity feed, which is quite useful. The part where Teams really shines though is the option to add other functions to a channel. The Wiki can be nice, although using it is sometimes a bit counter-intuitive. What's really helpful is the Planner, because it allows you to include kanban-like views of tasks (or other things). We actually use it less for tasks and more for ideas and backlogs of things for the entire team to review.

Cons

One thing that bugs me is an issue that also came up with Slack: You sometimes miss notifications because, when you open the app, you automatically jump into the last channel (or chat) you where when closing it. When you actually want to go to some other place, you might leave the channel, leaving all notifications marked as "read" - but you might not even have noticed there was something new in them! I don't know how to solve this, I only know that it can be a problem. The real downside of Teams is, for me at least, the very limited possibility of your notifications. You can essentially turn them on or off for mentions, channels you follow, and chats. There are some other options, but they are all of the "all-or-nothing" type. I either get notifications (and therefore push notifications on my smartphone) for all mentions, or for none of them. Here, Slack has a much better system. The other thing is the mobile app. On Android, it's just not as reliable as it could be. Activating the "don't disturb" status, for example, does nothing. If I want to turn of push notifications, I need to that completely and manually. Sometimes, uploads don't work. And when I'm on the road, messages might not get through - but instead of sending them once I have a connection, it sits there with warning sign, waiting for me to resend it... kind of an archaic way of dealing with this issue.

Prior to our organization adopting Teams we had different collaboration tools for live meetings, person to person and/or team chats, remote screen sharing, etc. Teams reduced our software footprint and simplified the entire collaboration process. In this Covid-19 era, with so many of us working remotely, ease of collaboration simplifies our daily jobs and is a huge time saver.

Pros

The entire collaboration experience is simplified. I can create team groups for specific projects to minimize unnecessary chatter to broader groups, chat instantly with my team mates, share my screen, share files, switch the chat to a call at the touch of a button, etc. It's collaboration made easy.

Cons

File handling, especially in terms of storing project files in a chat group, is a bit clunky. I don't use that feature a lot, however, I do share files with users and associates that I am chatting with and that feature is perfectly acceptable.

### "Teams is built for the power user, not the regular user"

4.0

Teams is robust and has every feature required in the modern office. One clear advantage to Teams is that when an Excel or Word file is shared in Teams, an employee does not have to have a license to that office product, to view/edit the shared file. Teams works on web, Apple products, phone. It's very reliable and compatible on all kinds of browser/OS/device combinations. There's no overlapping content - unlike Slack which breaks its layout at certain browser window sizes. Teams is not a place I go to have fun. Maybe it does not have to be. For most work places, Slack and its idea of work and constant communication, actually hurts productivity. Slack also facilitates contentious conversations unlike Teams. I think Teams should have directories for files, shared company resources - make it easy to integrate with.

Pros

Teams is incredibly robust. Some competitors such as Slack, ClickUp, or Google Drive (tangentially) may have one of the features that Teams has, but none of them have have all the tools that Teams has. A few features jump out and are particularly important to my daily workflow. Our team has a hard of hearing person and the captions are a help in her reading lips. The accessibility features that Teams make it the product that we use at work. It is the most accessible workplace organization product. Teams has great device/browser compatibility. Twitter complains about Teams on Mac but it works great in my experience. Word and Excel do not work well on Mac but Teams works smoothly. When I open Word or Excel, Apple displays a progress bar while it verifies "Excel" - Mac actually puts Excel in quotation marks. However, Teams always opens smoothly. Teams also connects well with my headphones/mic devices. I love that Teams has the capacity for meetings in the application - unlike Zoom. That is really important so people do not need to open another application. Teams is a one stop shop. I also that Microsoft and Teams are responsive on Twitter. I have voiced feedback and they've responded with substantive answers - not just a link to a suggestion box. I also love that one can edit messages on Teams. That reduces my anxiety so much about posting. I strongly dislike how Amazon Chime and Discord do not allow post editing.

Cons

Teams is built for the power user, not the regular user. Teams lacks conveniences to help users navigate the application. Some situations: - When a meeting has begun and I missed the call, it is really hard to reach the meeting. I usually have to go to my email to find the Teams link. It's confusing. When I open Teams, I want to see a list of missed calls and meetings in progress that I was invited to. - For a user message, Teams has a widget to add a emoji reaction but you can only pick one of five. I understand it may be possible to add a different one than the five, but it is hard to determine how. Just add a plus button where we can then pick any emoji. - It is really easy to accidentally start a meeting. When a user clicks the call button, it starts the meeting. Skype chatrooms had the same issue. Do what Slack does. When the room has more than 10 participants, create a dialog that contains two steps to start the meeting. No more pocket dials starting team meetings. - Allow user to message themselves. I really value on Slack being able to send messages to myself to see how they look. Many users have already given this feedback to Teams on Twitter. - When a person turns on captions, it turns on captions for everyone in the room. I dislike that invasion of privacy. - Meetings have ugly URLs. They should be like Bit.ly links i.e. Teams.com/morning-dev

### "Catching Up without the Stress"

July 7, 2021

5.0

As a staff, Microsoft Teams is the one place where we can connect, collaborate and create a hub of professional interactions. It enables us to have confidence in our profession by allowing us to reach out to each other in not only a professional manner but in times of need.

Pros

The Microsoft Teams software has brought out whole team together. This desktop software is essential for keeping all out teams connected. Covid-19 left us vulnerable in more ways then one, and the Microsoft Teams helped us to stay sane and supported. This was indeed the best investment for out school. It has a social page so we can touch on our mental health with quick chats or feel good memes.

Cons

Microsoft Teams has to compete against emails, Notebook, Zoom and in-server (one Portal ). Unless it is programmed to open immediately when the digital device has been turned on, it can get lost among the desktop icons.

Reason for choosing Microsoft Teams

It allowed us space for an "email" interaction platform and is really easy to use.
