### "Microsoft's fantastic solution for team collaboration"

April 25, 2020

5.0

Microsoft Teams has been designed from the ground-up to help businesses get their employees to communicate with each other more efficiently and effectively. In my personal experience with Microsoft Teams, this has been one of the main reasons of the company purchasing this software and using it as a central pillar for the IT teams. The various parts of IT (software team, infrastructure team, business analysts team) have been able to set up their own channels in which they can communicate with each other and send information relevant only to that team. In addition, other channels have been set up in which the entire IT department can share content with each other. In this way, the efficiency of communication has been solved with this one piece of software from Microsoft. The benefits have been realized as teams are now able to spend more time working on relevant things instead of going through content which may be irrelevant for them. The Microsoft Teams 'channels' feature has been instrumental in allowing this to happen. In addition, Microsoft Teams has allowed for colleagues to communicate with each other from one place. This is because the software allows for chat/video/audio/content sharing facilities from within Microsoft Teams. what benefits realized?

Pros

There are many features to like about Microsoft Teams, which I personally have experienced: -The overall design of it is very minimalist, simple and clutter-free. This makes it very easy to use and work with on a daily basis -The 'channels' feature is a fantastic feature which is dedicated for conversations regarding specific topics (and for specific recipients) -Skype video and audio calls can be made directly from Microsoft Teams, thus saving valuable time -You can share messages, pictures, files, and links with anyone within a conversation -The 'slash command' feature is a fantastic shortcut tool to anything you want to get done -Microsoft Teams has a special email view in which you can see the main parts of an email without actually leaving the conversation/chat -Microsoft Teams is available on both Android and iOS so that you can collaborate from wherever you are -Microsoft Teams integrates perfectly with Microsoft cloud platforms such as OneDrive and SharePoint. For example, you can actually see and access files that are on the cloud directly through the Teams interface -Dark Mode looks great!

Cons

To be honest, Microsoft Teams contains virtually all the beneficial features that one could want from a collaboration tool. The interface is fairly simple to use as it has a minimalist design. However, there have been a number of bugs that Microsoft Teams has been affected with, however. Although subsequent Microsoft software updates have solved a lot of these issues, it can get quite frustrating for system administrators at times. A reason why a company may not want to use Microsoft Teams is that there are other solutions such as Discord and Slack which have been popular for quite some time and do offer some good features for free. With Microsoft Teams for example, it is only free if there are less than 300 users and also there is a fee involved if a company then purchases the enterprise licence.

### "Best for Document Collaboration"

July 29, 2022

5.0

Pros

I love this product for document collaboration. The ability to form Teams, add members, and restrict access is a crucial function for client documentation creation and/or sharing. Real-time collaboration is possible both within the software and within the desktop application (e.g., PowerPoint or Word itself). Version control is provided with easy download and locking options.

Cons

In terms of instant messaging and video conferencing I have a personal preference towards other software my company uses (i.e. Skype for chat and Zoom for conferencing). However some of my clients use MS Teams as their primary conferencing tool and thus I use it on a daily basis. It serves its purpose.

### "Keeping the team engaged"

November 19, 2021

5.0

Previously, messages were just one on one. With Teams, having a chat involving your entire "team" has been instrumental in keeping up morale and allowing collaboration when working remotely. It allows for the pooling of knowledge, and questions can be answered by whoever is available, not reliant on waiting for one individual to respond. Quick messages are much more convenient than an whole formal email, and meeting with everyone on camera help humanize the office.

Pros

Integrates very well with Microsoft's other products, allowing for editing and sharing of documents right in Teams. Project-based chat groups allow for easy collaboration and prevents other teams from receiving unnecessary messages. Group messages are key to keeping people engaged and social in this new Covid world. Hosting a meeting is simple, screen sharing is excellent, and being able to take control of someone else's screen has proven to be extremely helpful. Notifications with message read indicators helps to keep people accountable and on task, while the mobile app allows for quick replies, even when away from the computer.

Cons

With large meeting, the system struggles to keep up the framerate, and things can get quite choppy. Additionally, lag when attempting to control another persons curser can be frustrating to say the least.

### "Microsoft Teams is a premier collaboration platform."

August 21, 2021

5.0

My business is using it as it's collaboration/communication tool. We have been successful in deploying and integrating all features such as calling, content sharing, managing of projects and more. the management GUI is easy to use as well.

Pros

Having an all in one solution for collaboration makes Teams an easy decision if you are already using Microsoft products. the integration with all the other products like Sharepoint make administration an easy to manage task.

Cons

As things change frequently, some features and administration tasks are constantly evolving and require constant education and upkeep.

### "More than a work tool."

July 12, 2021

4.0

It is good. It has allowed me to get together with my co-workers and also with friends and family. It is one of the most complete apps in terms of video calls. with several interactive tools with the user and also that it does not have a period of time to acquire its paid version, giving us a free and complete use for our needs.

Pros

You can easily hold conferences, share pdf, txt, xlx files and more. The user interface is so friendly and easy to use that even people with little experience can access the app quickly. Personally I liked the themes section that allows us to customize the interface of our app both in its PC version and mobile version. The control you have over a channel created by us is extensive, it allows us to customize to our needs, limiting some screen sharing options, activate a record of attendance or questions, if we want.

Cons

I don't like the PC version, for the following reasons: -Bad Optimization for low requirement devices. -Lag in calls with several members in a channel. They should give more attention to the app for devices such as PC and laptops, since many conferences and business meetings are held on these devices.

### "Ms Teams, the good known co-worker."

November 23, 2021

4.0

It is a perfect tool to communicate to the team. It is ideal for any organization that wants to manage all its office tools with the same provider, as it can integrate functionalities from all other platforms such as Outlook, Excel, Sharepoint, etc.

Pros

Its stability and robustness worthy of a platform developed by the Microsoft team, is the most important thing when choosing and using Ms Teams. In addition, its integration with the entire Microsoft suite makes it the ideal team work and communication tool.

Cons

Its communication quality and stability depends to a great extent on the number of users, service availability and bandwidth, which is why the listening and video experience is strongly affected when any of these components are weak.

### "Back and Forth Conversation Emails Are a Thing of The Past!"

May 7, 2019

5.0

Teams has signalled a shift in the way those in our business communicate with one another. It has meant that instead of emailing back and forth, users now use Teams to IM one another. No longer do users attach files to emails and send them to one another; now they simply share files quickly and easily through Teams. This increased communication between colleagues and departments along with increased sharing of resources and collaboration on work projects has improved productivity significantly.

Pros

Teams is a very user-friendly application that facilitates communication between individual users and whole departments. IM capabilities mean that users can message one another to collaborate on projects and share ideas. Files and documents can be shared with others, and Teams also has audio/calling conferencing capabilities (part of Microsoft's vision to deprecate Skype for Business in favour of Teams) meaning users can meet and share ideas even if they are at home or away from the office. The mobile app allows you to chat to colleagues when you aren't at your desk. If users are part of a departmental team, they can view these teams within the app; they can message other team members, share files, and use other Microsoft-specific apps such as Planner or SharePoint if they have been set up. Meeting scheduling is also available from within Teams, linking up with your Outlook calendar. For administrators, it is easy to deploy and maintain the Teams application using GPOs, and the application itself is self-updating on startup.

Cons

Teams currently installs to the user's 'AppData Roaming' folder, which means that it is installed separately for every user that logs into the computer. It is quite resource intensive to run the applications compared to other communications apps. However, both of these issues have been flagged for review on the Microsoft Teams suggestions and feedback website, suggesting they will be rectified in a future release.

Alternatives considered

[Slack](https://www.capterra.com/p/135003/Slack/)[Google Meet](https://www.capterra.com/p/176572/Google-Hangouts/)

Reason for choosing Microsoft Teams

Teams was chosen as our communications application over other products as it was bundled with Office 365, which we currently use within the organisation and have multiple active subscriptions for. As Teams is provided under the E1 licence (which all of our users receive), this made it the obvious choice to deploy as our communications app as we were already paying for it. The fact it was part of the Office 365 eco-system made it easier to deploy alongside other Microsoft apps that we currently use.

### "Good way to stay on the same page"

November 4, 2021

5.0

It has been overall a positive experience. I've had a few technical glitches here and there but they have to do with poor internet connections rather than the software itself. When scheduling meetings with my client and other people, it's super important that I don't make any mistakes in the set-up. It's an uncomfortable situation to find out that something went wrong later on, and when I set these meetings up, I always have an uneasy feeling that I missed some detail.

Pros

I like that I can be face-to-face with my client for the weekly meetings. It's important to see facial expressions and body language, especially because I am dealing with a client who can be difficult at times. The chat function is great and I like that I can mark things IMPORTANT to catch his attention.

Cons

It's not the easiest to set up for webinars or group meetings that my client has with his clients. Luckily he has a paid plan so I can call tech support to guide me through it. With this client, mistakes are not allowed, so I would appreciate an easier set up and a way to ensure that everything is set up correctly PRIOR to a meeting.

My client wanted to utilize his paid tools through Microsoft and use the integrations between Outlook, OneDrive, Calendars, etc. He still uses Zoom for a lot of external meetings though.

### "Does its job, some features could be improved (e.g., editing shared documents)"

October 18, 2021

4.0

Overall, I have a positive experience with Microsoft Teams. It is not an exciting product, but it does its job and it is well integrated with other Microsoft products (word of caution: working on shared documents via Teams is not so great!).

Pros

I like that it is a good software for communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and that it is possible to collaborate on documents such as Word and Powerpoint presentations (although this does not give a good user experience...). Everyone in my company uses it, so I had to switch to this from Lync, but I am glad we did.

Cons

I am not sure this is more likely to be Windows 10's fault, but sometimes the sound of my Teams disappears after unlocking the screen. I find it annoying. Also, when people are split into breakout rooms during sessions, the kickout is very sudden (in spite of the notification on the top of the screen). I don't like the UI. I wish there were a way to change the theme, for example. I find the violet color scheme a bit annoying and the interface too "playful". Editing files in Powerpoint via Teams is also a nightmare!

### "Microsoft Teams - Daily Tool"

October 19, 2022

5.0

As a technical team with consultants and vendors across the world, we are able to roll out projects that previously would have required on site presence and cost. In the last 12 months we have upgraded two core business tools almost entirely through Teams.

Pros

Love the ability to keep in touch with remote teams / vendors around the world, with the ability to engage in detail quickly if something comes up. Sharing of documents for end user testing feedback (on other software roll out) has been a particular win as it can be done any time and the ability to see changes only - quickly and easily saves a lot of time). We spend many hours a week with consultants / vendors working through teams, with screen sharing probably the most used tool.

Cons

Being a member of multiple teams is challenging (we operate as Guest in supplier Teams environments). If you miss an alert from a different team "live" then you won't see it till you switch to that team again. We use the app within Edge to have two different teams active at once but it would be nice to be able to do this withing Teams somehow.

### "Very Powerful Business Tool"

July 29, 2022

5.0

Overall this is a very good tool that has changed how projects are run. It is well suited to our new hybrid work situations where some are remote and others are working on-site.

Pros

I use this product daily for my day job. Each day I attend a minimum of one or two meetings on MS Teams. It is great for hosting conferences and bringing people from around the world together. It is also great for one one one or group calls. I belong to several teams that host their info on MS Teams. It is great to have such a powerful tool.

Cons

The document storage can be a little clunky but that may just be the way that we use it. Does not interface well with our conference room audio/visual equipment when trying to use it as the host for a meeting. Must host from a separate PC, unlike a close competitor's product.

### "Straightforward Video Conferencing Option for the Microsoft Ecosystem"

November 22, 2022

5.0

My overall experience is generally a positive one. Teams is relatively easy to use and works well with all the other programs we use in the Microsoft ecosystem. The experience is seemless.

Pros

Our company has decided to use the Microsoft ecosystem so it is our only option. However, functionality is great! Video conferencing is easy to understand and the quality of sound and video is good (as long as connectivity is good). Screen sharing is relatively straightforward and I like how you can share a screen in a chat without calling a meeting. Chatting is easy to do as well. The edit button is particularly helpful. Given the Microsoft ecosystem, I also like how Teams integrates with Outlook, calendar, etc.

Cons

The fact that it is only the Microsoft ecosystem makes it hard to use other conference call software. For example, accepting and using Google or Zoom is complicated. Also, some clients can not use Teams so it makes it impossible. Lastly, the mobile experience is a challenge because of the smaller screen.

### "Microsoft Teams for online meetings and Seminars "

September 2, 2021

5.0

Microsoft Teams has really helped me in my work, especially for online meetings and seminars. I am able to record meetings and seminars, share my screen and browsers, and also work from anywhere.

Pros

Microsoft Teams has become the most recommended software for online meetings in recent times. With this software, businesses can have meetings among members who are in remote areas without having to call them to the office. It allows presenters and other individuals in meetings to share documents and screens among other participants of meetings. It also allows for a virtual lobby where participants for a meeting can wait before the team lead allows them in. Also, the leader of the meeting can mute and unmute participants when it becomes necessary, in order to prevent any externalities during meetings. You can also record meetings and seminars for later use.

Cons

However, it becomes very difficult to use this software when you happen to fine yourself in a remote area where there is poor network. The system will keep loging you in and out of the meeting. Also the file structure can be a bit confusing as the link to a well named file sometimes break when it is added to Teams for a meeting.

### "Microsoft team Best Online Meeting Application"

September 6, 2021

5.0

Overall it’s a great application for online meeting, chatting, recording video and sharing documents within your office colleagues and team member from anywhere in the world. Further you can easily collaborate this office 365 applications.

Pros

Microsoft team is a great application for all either for office staff or for personal purpose. Through this software you can work from all over the world and stay connected with your friends and office team members through Audio and video call, team chats, voice mail and online meeting feature. In Microsoft team application you can also share your documents and other office stuff without any hurdle. Further, since its Microsoft product it can easily integrates with all Microsoft suite product like Ms Word and excel.

Cons

As compare to desktop version, Microsoft team has limited feature in mobile version due to which those user who connected with mobile or using this application on mobile cannot enjoy the updated features which is available in desktop version. Further all recording video in Microsoft team save in cloud instead of personal storage they should allow user to save video in local storage as well.

### "It integrates and replaces the need for lots of other tools"

November 25, 2021

4.0

I was skeptical at first. Coming from a competitor product that I loved, I thought Teams was just another alternative trying to do the same. Surprisingly, it combines a lot of things from the Microsoft 365 suite in a very convenient package. I use it more and more as I discover some new capabilities almost every week. It has replaced my file sharing tool, my calendar and my video / chat client all at once. I'm excited because the product is still relatively new, but it's already a really great tool, so what might come next will for sure be awesome.

Pros

I like being able to manage my calendar, chat, meetings and shared files from just one place. The online file editing is really useful to have while in a meeting. It has some very useful tools for advances search.

Cons

The app can be very resource intensive from time to time. I would like to have more tools (specially an annotation tool) on the videocall client.

### "Solid platform thriving with integrations"

August 31, 2021

5.0

Teams Gas evolved into our one-stop shop. Communication, collaboration as well as data storage are now completely handled inside of Teams for our school.

Pros

It's included in the Microsoft 365 app package that mist businesses use anyway and very easy to set and control as an admin. Each Team can have as many (not sure if there actually is a limit on their amount of channels) channels as you need in order to organize content. Seamlessly integrates OneNote which is a great hub for collaboration. Whiteboard as well as the traditional Word, Excel and PowerPoint are also deeply embedded. All in all very customizable.

Cons

the current PC version is built on Electron and quite resource heavy. The next iteration supposedly coming in Spring 2022 supposedly uses 40% less resources.

### "A Global way to communicate with Microsoft Teams"

September 27, 2021

5.0

Collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams have shown the effectiveness of working in groups, where decisions are taken collaboratively and discussions are held among all parties involved. Because there is no need for physical space or communication costs, virtual meetings via web conferencing are advantageous for the business. The program is responsible for the efficient recording of all phone conversations or video calls. Last but not least, files and other information may be transferred efficiently.

Pros

Microsoft Teams is a scalable, secure, and easy platform for communicating and sharing information both inside and outside of our company, and it is growing in popularity. Meetings may be held online via video conferencing using Microsoft Teams, which is available for free. Instant messaging is the most instantaneous function, and it is also the most cost-effective and feasible.

Cons

When used, a significant number of computer resources are used, and the volume of CPU memory consumed increases dramatically. Microsoft Teams does not provide screen mirroring functionality. Microsoft Teams does not provide a news feed.

### "How our team uses Microsoft Teams"

October 17, 2019

4.0

Microsoft Teams serves our team well. It has all the functionalities and integrations that we may possibly need and we don't have to pay extra for it as it is part of the Office Suite. With Teams, we can do and share everything without having to go to a different tool, like Skype, Mural, Lucid Chart, SharePoint etc.

Pros

There are a few features that I personally love about teams: 1. Ability to add additional applications. In teams, you can link other apps to your team page and this way it makes Teams a one stop place for us. Not only I am able to link different kinds of Microsoft tools Powerpoint and Word, but also third party tools like Lucid Chart and Mural that we use for diagrams, Ruum for project management, Trello etc. 2. Planner tool. Planner is my favorite feature to use in Teams. It is similar to Trello and Asana, but in my opinion much better and more clear. It is easy for me to organize tasks by different criteria, have different column views, label things and color code them and link other assets in Teams to these tasks. This makes my project management part of the job really easy and quick. 3. Ability to have multiple tabs in team pages. This makes it easy to make these team pages very organized and look put together. My team has different PDFs linked as one of the team pages tabs, we use a Wiki, excel and many more.

Cons

There are a few little things, like not being able to have multiple team pages or folders open at once, for example. It also is a little buggy from time to time, for example, it wouldn't let me rename folders under certain circumstances, but would work an hour later.

### "Best Tool For Corporate Scalability "

October 29, 2021

5.0

Overall, my experience using Microsoft Teams is positive. From an IT standpoint, I love the management console, which allows me great visibility into all sorts of metrics, configuration, and flexibility with how it operates. I also like how Sharepoint online can remove the burden of having employee files on local servers. From the end user's point of view, it's awesome. Great tools for video conferencing, chatting, organization, and collaboration, and scheduling. Teams also integrates with other plugins and affiliates to bring even more functionality and service.

Pros

Ok, here we go; there really is much to love here on Microsoft Teams. I hope that this review helps both end users and managers, as well as IT professionals that are looking on moving to Teams. Let me start off by saying that there is a lot your are subscribing to when using Teams. In MS Teams, you can create "Teams" where you can compartmentalize different units in your organization. For example, you can create a team for Accounting, HR, IT, Leadership, etc. This is beneficial because each department can create their own folder structures, share files, create posts, and also integrate other pluggable features like calendars, forms, and tabs for any granular function. This allows for a powerful collaboration tool. Another favorite feature I enjoy of MS Teams is the chat feature. Think of it like modern AOL, you are able to reach out to your collogues in real time through the chat feature. Other things to look forward to include a great tool for video conferencing. Teams allow you to create ad-hoc meetings, schedule meetings, share your screen, and also serves as a good remote administration tool for hand-held devices. If you are an IT admin looking to move to Teams, here is why you should do it. The Teams backend is Sharepoint Online. The reason this is important is because of cloud storage. You can easily move on-premise files from a server to the Microsoft Cloud. This means less time worrying about downtime and maintenance. Definitely worth investing into.

Cons

Some of my least favorite parts of Microsoft Teams revolve around the Desktop application. Teams is a great utility, however, it's a memory hog. Yes, if you launch task manager, you are likely to see if on your top 3 memory-intensive processes. Because of that, I use Teams from my browser.

### "Microsoft TEAMS: keeping in touch for business, education, collaboration and pleasure."

August 4, 2021

5.0

Using Microsoft TEAMS has been a very fun experience with all the tools you have available at the click of a button, to Microsoft Teams Connectors that allow you to collect all the data from all your apps without lifting a finger, taking surveys, submitting tests and grading your students, all that under one roof. This app is here to stay, and the add-ons keep rolling in.

Pros

Microsoft Teams is an excellent communication software that is available for all platforms. We use it for education, business meetings, brainstorming and file sharing so you have everything on you and with you no matter where you are. The calendar app is linked to your email account and the whole Microsoft Office so, whatever you schedule in one place is automatically synced all over your account. The add-ons just boost it to a new level, along with the regular updates that keep rolling out.

Cons

We are still waiting for the developers to enable the meeting creation for the private channels.

### "A great program for collaboration, especially for spread out teams. "

January 16, 2023

4.0

It's a great program for collaboration, especially when you have people based all over the world.

Pros

It's easy to use and even new colleagues find it simple, rarely needing training for it even if they've never used it before. We have people across the world and it's a great way to connect with each other, despite the huge time zone differences.

Cons

It's difficult to organize breakout rooms. I wish that feature could be improved. It's clunky and not very intuitive.
