Pros Instant message is decently good. Although doesn't always alert of a new message. Screen sharing is good and easy to use, so is file sharing. It can do everything from phone calls, to chat, to collaborative work projects. Cons The UX/UI experience is the Achilles heel of this software. It will often take time to connect to networked files or functions. You don't have the ability to prioritize tabs at the top of a Team Channel; I would like to have the posts and files tabs be last. Under teams channels, when there are multiple of them, Microsoft uses the term 'hidden' which most users interpret as 'private' but in reality, they are defined as 'not favorite channels'. Lastly, if I want to automate between programs like forms, excel, or tasks, you can't do it within Teams, you must first create these documents outside of Teams first and then import them. Pros If you want to arrange inter-organizational audio conferences, video conferences with screen sharing, Teams is the application on the market that does it best. Other applications tend to have issues in joining or audio clipping. Cons File sharing is at time slow and frustrating to use, especially after you are part of 100 or more Teams. Yes, the stability issues persist, but in a minor way and i think the way to manage files is the only major improve the app needs right now. In general, is a good application, very simple to use, even in multiple devices. The calls have improved a lot during the years and you can have a lot of people in a call without any worries. Pros Is a very simple tool for communications. Microsoft has been iterating through different team live chats and call options and this one is the best one they've got. The application has been evolving during the last year and has been improving a lot. Allowing more people and getting better stability during the calls. The application is called teams and the posibility to create them and manage them is very interesting too. That gives to the app a very good advantage over other calling services, because is not only to chat, but also to share and manage teams, events or integrate with another apps Cons Some inestability persists. There are times you can't connect to calls with any apparent reason. Also de document management needs a big improvemente. If your company is a SharePoint shop, then Teams is a very natural extension. Teams has been great for having online/virtual meetings. I have used many competing products and would rate Teams as #1 over many others. Pros Teams is a great tool for collaborating with your team with either instant messaging, file sharing or other electronic content. It also is a great way to have a group or department online presence within your organization. It lets you setup internal public Team sites which allow you to disseminate information or simply collaborate with large distributed groups. You can also have private Teams sites for projects that need to be protected for larger viewing. Cons The ability to search or query your company channels is not as robust as other tools, like Slack. Or if you want to find conversation that occurred in the past. I have found searching in Teams to not be super useful. There may be some implementation challenges here that can explain my experiences, but I have found in my use of Slack, that it is a much better tool to get back to an impromptu Q&A which happens quite often in technical roles/fields. Also user can make 1 to 1 or group calls in MS teams. Maximum 250 user can join a meeting at a time however so many people can use teams. User can share screen while meeting is a very good feature, It also allow user to record meetings also all the user will get Auto popup if meeting was start recorded Chatting with MS teams very convenient it allow user to share file along with text chat also It allow user to create channel( group) for different department which help user to communicate with colleagues effectively. It also allows to see the contact details and status of working for user so one can contact accordingly we are using it on Office 365 so all the conversations are very safe here. We are able to hold meetings with out the expense of traveling. We also attend several training sessions without traveling. In larger organizations its a great way to communicate with teammates when you need to bypass email and get someone's attention. Pros When the configuration is done correctly, and integration with Active Directory and Exchange is achieved, Teams is a great collaboration tool. Chat makes for a great medium that's faster than email, and communications are kept 'in-house', which is important from a security standpoint. Adding teammates to web meetings on the fly is also very useful. Cons A true 'Team' has more implications than a 'group chat'. Our company switched over from Slack as we grew in numbers, and while the UI has taken a bit of time to become acclimated to, Teams has been invaluable for us for all of the available features and the integration with Outlook calendars and our other Microsoft applications. Pros Teams has been perfect for my coworkers and me in 2020 when everyone is working remotely. We can effortlessly communicate with one another through the chat feature. We have created teams for our various work teams, departments, societies, and even for interests outside of work. Teams has enabled us to continue our biweekly meetings directly in the app. In a training session the other week, through screensharing I was even able to take control of the other user's screen, which was a remarkable feat. Teams also connects seamlessly with our Outlook calendars, which is a great deal of help when someone is asking in the channel about my availability or when a Teams meeting is on the horizon. Cons My only real con with Teams is that I wish it were easier to set a status - the status auto-changes to away after five minutes and sometimes has issues coming back to available.
