Account Manager Management Consulting Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Comparable Systems Cost Much, Much More" November 2, 2016 5.0 Built on the Salesforce platform so it can handle any number of users. Sage has initially targeted the small business segment with Live, however it is just as good for mid-market or enterprise. Consider the following features: Capable of handling 1-1000+ users. SAAS (hosted and browser-based) so no software to install. No server needed. Multi-Company consolidation Inter-Company transactions Dimensional accounting Multi-Currency Multi-Language Purchase Requisition/Approvals and Workflow Easy setup but can be configured as complex as you want, it's a very open database if you choose to use it that way Open API, integrates with many other web-based apps Well integrated with SalesForce Tablet and iPhone/Android apps These types of features are typically only available in enterprise level software like Intacct, Acumatica, Financial Force, X3, NetSuite, Oracle or SAP. You won't find this in Quickbooks, Freshbooks, Xero, Sage 50 or any other entry-level system. There's always been Microsoft Dynamics, Sage 100/300/500, Epicor, Infor and others, but those aren't true cloud based/browser based systems, nor are they inexpensive. What's unique about Sage Live is that they've priced it to be affordable for most companies - starts at monthly for 2 users and 1 company. 2 users and 100 companies is only $$$d/month. That is ridiculously less expensive than the other enterprise level systems out there. You can certainly use Sage Live as a small business, but the nice thing is that as you grow you can stay on the same system and not feel the need to change. If you are a mid-sized or large company, you owe it to yourself to take a look at Live before you make a decision on spending lots more money for perhaps the same thing. Cons It has only been around for 3 years, so it's not as fully developed as some more mature offerings out there. They are adding new stuff all the time but you might find some features missing that you are used to. Review Source AD Allan D. This has made our billing easy and wasn't missed and the clients were happy to get billed properly. Pros Sage Business Cloud Accounting is very easy to use. Any non-accountant person can use it easily. We have added our clients' bank accounts to Sage and can trace movement easily. What I liked the most in this software was that I could create the invoice the way I needed and every single details were adjustable. Director Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Appalling Customer Service" May 29, 2018 2.0 I phoned and chatted online with Sage One (Sage Business Cloud?) customer service technical support 8 days ago over an issue and have also emailed them every working day since and they just keep telling me that they have logged the issue and it has been passed to their Development Team. In the meantime I can't send invoices. What's the point in offering 24/7 customer support if they just log the issue and make you wait over a week for a fix? Pros Good interaction with payroll and Pension software, banking etc. Easy to use. Can use from any pc. Cons Long list of minor but annoying issues, like it does not accommodate UK net monthly account customers/suppliers, the default dates on functions only show the current month. The only way to avoid the contact name appearing on the invoice address is to put a full stop in the contact name box (so the first line of every invoice is a full stop). Product list doesn't section so you can't add a percentage to one customer or one type of product. Appalling customer service for technical problems. Review Source MB Marianne B. Pros As an online accounting system (enterprise) it does what any company and industry would need. You can configure it based on your company processes, but the reason you would want to use this, is that they have streamlined the process that you can adapt to, instead of the other way around. Why re-invent the wheel? Cons Too proprietary. You must go through their accredited vendors to do most of the modifications and reports, unless you train and really go deep. Date entry is very simple and less repetitive than other software I've used. The online chat feature is excellent for solving simple problems or getting help when you cant find what you need in the available online resources. Cons Two things need attention. One is the ability for a charity to set up HST receivable in a simpler manner. The other is the ability to contact someone to solve a problem. Support is managed through online chat and it is very difficult to speak to a live person. I've had an issue caused by a glitch in the system and have been unsuccessful in solving the issue for the past 9months. Pros not much...maybe you don't have to wait as long as you do with telus for them to answer Cons We have used sage since it was called simply accounting. I attended courses and have always managed to keep the system going. We started having this problem about 7 years ago.. Unable to email invoices. Customers get frustrated and several people messaging the company to let us know our system has a flaw. We have had several several hours on the phone with sage trying to get this corrected! I loved their desktop program and really wanted to love their cloud solution just as much. Pros I love cloud solutions and the reports from this would have been nice. Cons I was hit with what seemed like every road block as I tried to switch from my Sage Desktop program into their cloud program. Customer Support was lacking and I ended up joining a Facebook support group of other accountant/bookkeepers making a similar switch. In the end I had to make the decision to let it go or loose my productivity. I was hoping the migration of data would have gone smoothly from one Sage program to the next with data lose. Switched from [Sage 50 Accounting](https://www.capterra.com/p/174753/Sage-50cloud/) I mainly used Sage 50cloud for it's desktop features and felt the cloud connectivity was lacking. I cannot think of any time that I have received a good customer service experience with Sage. Pros The cloud functionality is a great tool in theory, if it can ever be dependable. Cons Sage is the most glitchy program I have EVER used. I recommend away from it when possible Reason for choosing Sage Accounting I have moved most of my clients off of Sage. I still have a few that are using it as they are creatures of habit. We're able to import information like bank statements, contracts, sales history into the cloud for access and reference. Cons It has limited features and the mobile app crashes and is limited in functionality. For the price, it still can't be beat cause there are little instances on which you want to access the accounting cloud through mobile. I enjoy the clear, and simple printouts to give me a snapshot of specific accounts or our overall financial picture. Cons The software itself works great in a silo. I have had some trouble trying to link it with some non-profit donor tracking software which has meant double entry rather than a smooth sharing of information between systems. It accurately keeps track of our inventory as long as there's no human error Cons It's a little buggy at time. Since it's so customizable, it's up to the developers to establish the database and how each database interact with each other. Accounts Clerk Retail Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Bad Move" March 13, 2021 1.0 diabolical Pros Ability to use on an Ipad - initial reason we moved from SAGE 50 to this software, however after 6 1/2 months with not a huge number of transactions the system has just got slower and slower the ipad works perfectly on all other software just sage is the issue Cons Migration didn't work Unable to adapt reports Entering payments is a clunky problem as you can't batch in a list of payments you need to keep clicking on payment receipt Online support forum in SAGE doesn't get answers unless it happens to be something they already have in process they should ignore the quests Reason for choosing Sage Accounting Because I was assured it would a simple migration - in the end we had to start from scratch with a trial balance input by my accountant.
