Pros Very easy to find transactions when looking for a specific one, customer support is very helpful and efficient, reports are easy to generate. Cons For a small business it is slightly on the expensive side, when trying to figure an issue out for yourself it can sometimes be hard. The ability to run reports is easy enough, and I like being able to attach source documents to each entry. Cons I dislike not being able to separate roles such as accounts Payable and accounts Relievable. Hope this year will not be the last year nightmare! Pros Accounting software for accountant, quality, ease of use. Built with accountant midset. Not like Quickbook, where it's often hard to understand and fix entries. Can't get into #1 NO support. I am paying for 2 licenses and can only access one.. Would really appreciate having someone from Sage help me out with this. I need to cancel the migration which went to the wrong business and I need access to both accounts or I will have to cancel and go somewhere else. Pros I like the idea of working on a cloud based program that could be accessed to myself and my bookkeeper Cons NO support.. I have 2 accounts, each business with their own email address and password. We haven't started with anything just yet except to migrate information to business #1. We were logged into business #1 and started the migration. Everything went to Business #2. Now I can't even get into business #1. It doesn't matter which email address I log onto with, it now always goes to business #2. I tried to do what I was told in the chat window, but can't get past the email address. December 15, 2025 5.0 It's great! I chose it to run my business because of the price point and from hearing CPAs talking about it. It's a great software that I plan to continue to grow my business Pros Easy access on the web. Being able to log in quickly and get to work is great. The 2 factor to my cell phone is great! It works fast and gives me the information I need. Being able to jump in and email my invoices is great! Cons Sometimes I find it difficult to find what I'm looking for if I haven't logged in for a while. The menus don't have as much as they should for easily finding what you need so it takes a few minutes to get my bearings again. Review Source DG Denise G. Transactions are easy to locate. Pros Reporting invoices. Easy to add invoices and credit notes. Transaction management is a breeze - like the fact that there is a location to leave notes. It takes no time at all to make an invoice and email it to our clients. We can also send them a statement at the end of the month with a push of a button. Pros This program is worth the money. It is super easy to navigate and use. Our book keeper used this program and was amazed at how easy it was to use. Cons Not enough reports. We had used Sage 50 and noticed some of the reports are not in Sage accounting. Easy to use. Cons I dont like the calendar, because it is not user friendly. We should be able to change the month/date/year. Currently makes us scroll through each month to find the date and year we are looking for. It has all the essential tools I need and I can use it on my mobile phone so I thought that was cool. Cons Some of the features were limited in the version that I am using. Pros it is extremely user friendly, has a large variety of financial reports and the option to have them in excel or pdf, extremely easy to use it, very clear and visual interface, excellent report value for money, very easy to learn who to work and navigate trough the modules with Sage. Cons extremely difficult to connect our Desjardins bank account to Sage. We had it in the past, but since like the last 4-5 months we had to do the conciliations manually. It is not possible to speak with a customer representative to help us with this matter. The interface is very simple and the features are easy to use. Pros The customer service is very supportive and rapid with their responses. Even if there’s an issue that requires more time than usual, they’re more efficient than other services that I’ve encountered. Cons The reconciliation feature definitely needs a little bit of work. If there’s a transaction that gets deleted, you need to delete all reconciliations dating back to that transaction, then re-reconcile. It was easy to set up and works very well for our organization. The reporting is excellent. Pros That it is cloud based so backups etc. are not an issue. Allows me to log in from multiple devices if necessary. Cons There is a bit of a lag when posting transactions. It can make it difficult to get on a roll when posting. I am a Chartered accountant but the software is easy to use for everyone who is not a CA. Cons No possibilités to have accounting schedule (i have a car leasing Company and would need a lot of schedule). Because it is difficult to change to another system I am stuck with Sage. Pros Reasonable priced. Can make notes on the invoices so I find that very helpful for my medical records and so client has a record as well Cons Can be difficult to navigate around and find things, especially reports. I like the invoices and also the reports. I think it is good value for my money. Cons I can't think of anything. I used to use Quickbooks (desktop version) previously for my business but I am glad I switched to Sage! Pros For most of my time using this software, I found it to be intuitive and useful for creating invoices and other reports. Aside from an inability to search for key words within entries, it did pretty much everything I would want out of an accounting software. Cons Recent shoehorning of AI into the product is a complete dealbreaker for myself and the company I work for. The proud 'powered by AI' statement and intrusive banner at the top of the software demonstrate a complete falling for the grift of the month. We don't need unreliable text generation wrapped in buzz words. If that lack of reliability is what Sage values, we cannot continue to use their product. Review Source SV Sara V. Makes nice invoices for customers and I’m able to import my expenses fairly easily Cons I find some of the tax reporting challenging and statements for customers aren’t easy to use. Makes my life as a bookkeeper very easy to track payments made on invoices issued. I have definitely recommended it to clients as an option for invoicing. Pros I really like the invoicing features on the online Sage version. As a bookkeeper, it is VERY easy to track the payments made on invoices when you are not necessarily the one who is doing the invoicing. There are also great filters that can be activated depending on what you want to see. Cons I really have only used the online Sage invoicing features so I can't speak to the rest of the program, unfortunately. I would really like to become more familiar with it overall and think it might be a better alternative to Quickbooks Online. Review Source sL shanna L. " November 5, 2025 1.0 Overcharge every year, impossible to get overcharge back... hold your system ransom. No one deals with issues passed to 6 employees that never solve the issue. billing and service is horrible. Pros Nothing positive to say, old overcharged program not worth the money. Staff are not interested, customer service managers will not provide a phone number. Cons Charge $2500-$3000 to renew, the accounting program costs $1000. Not worth it for small business. Once all your information is in they use the inconvenience of switching to overcharge for basic accounting software. I have the payroll function however, I do not use it as we outsource our payroll - I need to have it removed. Pros Sage is great value for money, ease of use, invoicing. It is great that our accountant can use the backup feature. Cons Would like more information on scanning receipts for expenses; sometimes the help feature doesn't provide what I am looking for in a short period of time, I have to dig a little deeper. We have taken over a new client in SAGE online, and I have reached out to the reps that had spoken with the prior bookkeeper and received a note back saying \*I'm sorry but anyone who could set up a call is out of the office. \[sensitive content hidden\] Sage HR\* .. that makes me feel .. very unimportant. Pros so far - nothing. I have 1 new-to-me client on Sage online and it is very cumbersome compared to Quickbooks online. Cons Sage Online is very confusing to work with. It is frustrating that you cannot edit invoices after a payment is received (we forgot to add a p.o. # to a client invoice and cannot unless we do extra steps. It is hard to find things. I wish I never would've used it in the first place. I should have used Quickbooks. Too late until year end. Pros Very little. There is nothing positive to say about this program. It wastes huge amount of time. I wish I would've gone with QB's. Cons The banking module is the worst! When you click on a reconciliation it tries to use the current date and then you have to clear everything to get started. I have wasted so much time on this one issue, it is crazy. You can't force Sage to do a bank update. One of my accounts hasn't connected in over 6 months.
