The reports are good and informative Pros Easy to use, lots of project allocation options, payroll/T4's are super easy, month end reports are clear and consise. Cons the updates can be frustrating, we should be able to deactivate all projects and then unclick the ones that are active. The learning curve is not bad and support is always there if you need it. The flow of the process of transaction input was very clean and made sense. Pros It was easy to set up. The reporting worked very well and will give you what you need. Setting up customers was easy with importing functions. Cons I was a past user of QuickBooks Online and I really liked their ‘Project’ capabilities. I know Sage can assign transaction to a project, QB’s is far more robust. I have the payroll function however, I do not use it as we outsource our payroll - I need to have it removed. Pros Sage is great value for money, ease of use, invoicing. It is great that our accountant can use the backup feature. Cons Would like more information on scanning receipts for expenses; sometimes the help feature doesn't provide what I am looking for in a short period of time, I have to dig a little deeper. Je ne m'en passerais plus. Pros Logiciel simple à comprendre et utiliser, tout est bien présenté et facile à utiliser même pour quelqu'un qui n'est pas féru de comptabilité. Le support en ligne sous forme de "chat" vraiment pratique, rapide et efficace. La facturation et entrées correspondantes sont très simples à gérer. Le coût est très raisonnable (je suis sur la version cloud). Je recommande fortement ce logo iel pour les travailleurs autonomes, cela simplifie la vie et rends la période d'impôts bien plus facile, toutes les données sont exportées en un clic. Cons Pas vraiment de points négatifs pour l'utilisation que j'en ai. Peut être ce qui me manquerait c'est la possibilité d'utiliser le même logo iel pour deux companies, deux logos et signataires différentes pour la facturation. I was terrified to start but im almost done 2025 and i feel better. So sage helped me i did try quick books nope not for me. Pros The ease of the program I like using Sage because it keeps my bookkeeping simple, organized, and easy to manage. Instead of overcomplicating things, I can enter my transactions in a way that makes sense for how I actually run my business. I prefer working with monthly totals rather than hundreds of small entries, and Sage allows me to do that while still keeping everything accurate. Cons Cant think of anything so far as i am still learning as of now im happy with it and the help links make it even better. Otherwise I would not be using this program. Pros I like that it is easy to post transactions and I can access it anywhere. Reports are easy to navigate. Much better to use than Quickbooks online version. Cons As an accounting professional it is wrong that the program does not automatically clear the revenue and expenses to the retained earnings account. It has to be done manually as of the final year end date. Then the reports have to be dated the day before the year end. This is ok for. Not user friendly. Very difficult to go from report or screen to screen. Looking up dates and data is very difficult. Pros I liked simply accounting that I used for years. It was clear how to navigate through the system. I also liked how I could go directly to general journal from the reports to correct mistakes. Cons Not user friendly. Very few report options. The website is sometimes slow loading or having difficulties as well but that has gotten better. Pros Connecting to banks to load the statements, easy reporting options as well as sharing access with your accountant. Cons I can't save tax amounts and descriptions to each vendor/supplier. It always uses the previous one that was entered. This has caused issues. I wish the program didn't get so angry if you make a G or S account somewhere it's not supposed to be, but I understand why it does that. Pros It imports very nicely to Caseware. Forces clients to use account numbers. Auto assign journal entry numbers in the system. Cons The Ctrl+F feature is lacking. It would be nice if it were a bit more intuitive. I also don't really like the strict requirements for where account numbers need to be. Customer service has been helpful when questions come up. Look forward to learning new functions to make my job more efficient. Pros It is very user-friendly, and streamlines well from entering orders, to receiving and then invoicing. You don't have to continuously re-enter information. When completing my year-end, financial reports were quite easy to create. Cons Creating templates for my invoices - the text wasn't wrapping when I would do a print preview. And then when I actually printed, the forms, the text wrapped. It would've saved me a lot of time knowing this. I also wish there was a way to close month-ends and not just year-ends. It is best to have a few screens open on the online version, since navigating from general ledger to cashbook (for example) is quite complex, and needs filling out of parameters time after time. Pros Reasonable online method of accounting, bookkeeping. Only using it as a book keeping method, which works well, not very user friendly, not right away intuitive, but I am NOT a professional. Cons Terrible customer service, at the moment trying to get the membership service to keep withdrawing money from my credit card which is approved, but they do NOT respond back, terrible to be ignored. It used it for years, it's been reliable, and I've come to depend on it for keeping my finances in order, especially when it comes to tax time. Pros It's very easy to use and allows you to connect multiple accounts, which better helps me to not only manage my invoicing and finance, but also my business. Cons The cost. I find it rather high and would love it to be more affordable. I would never recommend it to someone because of this issue - it doesn't provide the reliability we would expected from a paid payroll system. Pros The reason I picked it was a combination of price and the smooth integration between Payroll and Accounting. Cons The accounting system isn't reliable - it has many issues and the support is close to none - they say they're waiting for the technical team to solve the problem but the problems are never resolved. December 2, 2025 4.0 I have used this product since 1995 (under a different brand name) and it has been a very dependable, but the current pricing makes it overpriced for its capabilities compared to competitors. Pros Great audit trails allows one to track input errors or potential staff misuse. Customer support offers live people to either walk through the solution or remote access to fix more complex issues. Reporting covers most SME's. Cons Price is going through the roof. 2023 to 2024 price increased 11%. 2024 to 2025 price increased 9%. 2025 to 2026 price increased 15%. The price is outgrowing the value. Pros I like the facts that its cloud based, its a basic solution for a small business. The startup price was appealing. Cons After many attempts and support requests, the connection to my bank account still not working. I gave up, I m tired to try and repeat my problem to help desk, the support on the cloud solution is very pour if it exist, Sage do not accept to talk to you, they refer the online help only. Pros Not much. There was no onboarding, bad support and some functions just made no sense. Integration with Stripe was good but any other automation caused incorrect entries. Cons This is not a user friendly platform for small business owners. I felt like I had to be an accountant just to run my digital books.
