Sage is the best! Pros Ease of Use, Invoicing, Financial Reporting Expense Tracking, Tax tracking. Sage is the best program that answers all my needs! My preferred choice when compared to Quickbooks. Pros Relatively easy to use. Hardly any issues are ever experienced on an annual basis. Customer service has been good the couple times used. Cons The annual price is getting to a point one may have to consider other accounting software as a cheaper alternative. The financial reporting dates are not flexible. With Quickbooks, you can select any period of time to generate a report. With SAGE you are restricted by the year end date. Review Source MF Mark F. It was easy for me to jump back into Sage. Pros I like the ease of use and the value for my money. I work with 3 different accounts and switching from one to the other is so easy, instead of having to log out and back in with the different account. As I have 3 accounts the time savings is important. Cons I'd like all 3 payments taken out at once, not at different times. Paying one lump sum helps me with money management too. Cons I would say there is a bit of a learning curve when coming to Sage Accounting with limited experience in other Sage products. I know that I can depend on the Sage service when I'm ready, and my accountant appreciates the ease of reporting. Sure I like the one time fee for software vs a monthly cost - but having a cloud based system and not having to cross my fingers at tax time is a blessing. Updates are built in. Pros Previous Simply Accounting user - Sage was a quick transition for a non-tech like me. Appreciate the ease of the program. Cons Good experience so far - I would categorize myself as a new user at this point. Appreciate the explanations. I find most clients can handle the accounting aspect of Sage and I can troubleshoot questions over the phone with little problem. Pros The software is easy to use and very easy to find information when I need to see what entries my clients have made. The software allows you to run reports for almost everything. Cons Nothing much. There is not much I would change. The software allows me to find information quickly and run reports - that is about all I use it for. Review Source Robert E. Cons The software is old-fashioned and filled with bugs, for example, when you select all transactions on a page it will then go and change ALL transactions in your directory - which can take hours to manually fix. Pros I like how easy it is to take a picture of the invoices on my mobile phone and load it into the IOS app. Cons On some invoices the dates are completely wrong when automatically uploading the invoices, including the Sage invoice. This usually happens when the day and month are low numbers and the software thinks the year is 10+ years ago. I do not use payroll but the other portion of the program has always worked well for me. Pros The software is easy to use. The financial statements are clear. The reconciliation meets my industry standards Cons Does not calculate gst automatically I need to manually do this calculation. Inability to delete an entry if you make an error. Have used for a number of years. Pros It does the accounts payable and receivable functions fine. It does the accounts payable and receivable functions fine. Cons This software is not built for someone with accounting experience. May be great for those with minimal accounting knowledge but not for others with an higher expectation. There is no automatic year end close journal entry as an example. So you have to key it all from scratch. That is a waste of time. Pros easy to post transactions as a company and easy to pull reports needed as an external accountant. Sage accounting is alot easier to understand than quickbooks. Setting-up Sage Accounting was very easy and improved significantly our transaction management and our reporting. Cons The online chat of the customer support is not available on the week-ends. I work remotely and on atypical hours and it was a minor set-back. Pros I like that it's easy to go back and edit if you've made a mistake. its also easy to find how much is in what account. We changed software to Jobpac due to a business merge. Pros Excellent software, lots of options that you can do on it which is completely the opposite to MYOB per example. It integrates with all other softwares including expense claim management systems, payroll systems etc… Easy to use, easy to manage, easy to run reports from it. Staff have been mentioning also that it’s not a slow system. They seem to have a great server which makes a big difference on the daily basis usage. Cons A big pricey but I guess you have to pay the right price when it comes to accounting software! Pros It was user friendly and I could do my accounting and reports very easily. I liked the format and the customer support was very excellent. Cons It was not as easy as I thought to sink it with my bank or my accountant. I have used Sage 50 as well and Quick Books. Really no comparison needed. Sage is 1000 percent over and above. Pros Takes bookkeeping into accounting. It just makes sense. I have an accounting background and have no issues with understanding. Cons When giving access to just allow running reports and printing I ran into all ki ds of problems whers I had to tie up my CPA for a goid hour. Eventually I had to grant full admin access.
