Overall, our experience with ManageEngine OpManager has been positive. It provided good visibility into our network infrastructure and helped us monitor servers, devices, and bandwidth usage more efficiently. The real-time alerts and centralized dashboard reduced the time needed to identify and troubleshoot issues. While the initial configuration required some effort, the platform became easier to manage over time and supported our day-to-day network monitoring needs effectively.

Pros

ManageEngine OpManager helped our team monitor network devices, servers, and bandwidth usage from a centralized dashboard. The interface is easy to navigate, and the real-time alerts helped us identify issues before they affected operations. We also found the reporting and device monitoring features useful for tracking overall network performance and reducing troubleshooting time.

Cons

The setup process for advanced monitoring can be time-consuming, and some customization options are not very intuitive at first. The interface could also be improved in certain sections for easier navigation.

My overall experience with ManageEngine OpManager has been positive. It provides comprehensive monitoring for network devices, servers, applications, and IT infrastructure through a centralized platform. The solution is easy to deploy and offers real-time visibility into the health and performance of critical IT resources. Its alerting, reporting, and automation capabilities help reduce manual effort and enable faster incident response.

Pros

User-friendly interface with easy device discovery and monitoring. Comprehensive network, server, and application performance monitoring from a single dashboard. Real-time alerts and notifications help in proactive issue detection and faster resolution. Extensive support for SNMP, WMI, CLI, and other monitoring protocols. Customizable dashboards, reports, and workflows to meet operational requirements. Strong integration capabilities with ITSM tools and other ManageEngine products. Built-in network configuration management and automation features improve operational efficiency. Good scalability for monitoring large and distributed IT environments. Cost-effective compared to many enterprise monitoring solutions while offering a wide range of features.

Cons

Some advanced configurations and customizations can be complex and require additional expertise. The user interface can feel cluttered when managing a large number of devices and monitors. Reporting and dashboard customization options could be more flexible and intuitive. Certain integrations and automation workflows require manual configuration and scripting. Performance may be affected in very large environments if sizing and tuning are not optimized. Troubleshooting advanced monitoring issues sometimes requires vendor support assistance. Feature availability varies across editions, which can make licensing and feature planning challenging. Mobile application functionality is more limited compared to the web interface.

My overall experience with ManageEngine OpManager has been quite positive. It delivers excellent value for money with robust device management, reliable SNMP monitoring, and solid asset management, along with good security features. However, it has a noticeable learning curve, and customization and configuration can be complex and time-consuming at times.

Pros

What I liked most about ManageEngine OpManager is its excellent device management, proactive real-time performance tracking across networks, servers, VMs, applications. It provides reliable SNMP monitoring and also provides solid asset management, and good security features, making it very effective for keeping track of our entire infrastructure. I also loved the User-friendly interface and customizable dashboards

Cons

What I liked least is the steep learning curve and the time-consuming customization and configuration. While the features are powerful, getting everything properly tuned requires significant effort, especially in the beginning, also alerting system is powerful but can generate too many alerts.

Paired with responsive customer support and a reasonably manageable learning curve, it feels like a well-rounded, practical tool that a lean IT team can realistically own and operate without being overwhelmed at a price point that genuinely makes sense for the business.

Cons

The learning curve can be steeper than expected initially, particularly around fine-tuning SNMP monitoring profiles and customising alert thresholds for diverse device types. Security configuration and role-based access setup takes deliberate effort to get right. Deeper asset and device management customisation can push toward addon modules.

Reasons for choosing ManageEngine OpManager

ManageEngine's ecosystem also played a role. Having monitoring sit within a broader suite of IT management tools that integrate natively with each other - and connect cleanly to our ITSM and CMDB tooling - was a practical advantage over standalone monitoring products that require more integration effort and middleware to achieve the same outcome.

My overall experience with ManageEngine OpManager has been highly positive. Over the last 2.5 years, it has transformed how our team manages day-to-day operations.

Pros

The configuration is straight forward. The automatic discovery engine feature makes life easy. On top of this the support when I have issue or questions is top notch!

Cons

Because it processes a massive amount of data, the OpManager server itself requires significant hardware resources (CPU and RAM)

Easy to deploy, easy to ease and extremely robust, a reliable all-in-one monitor that gives great visibility

Pros

It puts all our network monitoring in one place. The real-time alerts and easy dashboards save us tons of time.

Cons

Some systems don't come with out-of-the-box solutions, the UI can feel laggy and slow at times, and configuring advanced reports is more complicated than it needs to be.

Overall, OpManager is a reliable and affordable monitoring solution that provides good visibility into network health. Once configured, it works well for proactive monitoring and issue prevention.

Pros

Offers strong network and server monitoring with a user-friendly dashboard. Real-time alerts, customizable thresholds, and useful reports help quickly identify and resolve issues. It is also cost-effective compared to many enterprise monitoring tools.

Cons

Initial setup and alert tuning can take some time due to the platform’s flexibility. Larger environments may require additional resources, and some advanced features are offered through add-on modules.
